7-7-14 Wedding to Sharaye
Posted 11 years agoThe drive over to TN went fine with no traffic or road issues. The whole time I had this sense of excitement in the pit of my stomach, a little nervous but very happy all at the same time. We had a busy schedule once we got there, finalizing plans and working with every one to get all the official stuff lined up. The closer we got to Monday the more it seemed we had things to do.
We went out just the guys to an arcade were I found out that I'm horrible at pool and if you don't practice darts you lose that skill too. We did have a lot of fun all the same and met up with the girls later that night for dinner.
Sunday night I had to temporarily part ways with my love
Sharaye I didn't really want to leave and I kept coming up with reasons not to. I stayed till the last second and we said our good byes. I drove off for my last night as a single man to sleep in a hotel room with my Sister and Brother In-Law... My Brother In-Law ever the joker offered to spoon with me and my sister but I settled for an air bed on the floor and tried to sleep as thoughts of Sharaye flew through my head. I also thought about my grandparents and how they would be proud of me and wished they could have been at my wedding but I knew they would be with us in spirit.
Monday morning came and the fun began. Getting up and getting ready. Lots of back and forth from room to room and running around. We got out to the Wedding venue and I helped lug some gear and got the sound system set up in the wedding chapel. We did a sound check and then went and moved everything again. everything went by in a blur but it was finally time to go get changed and I went to the house to change out of my street clothes and in to the tux I would wear to marry my love.
I was sporting a gray tux with a blue & silver bow tie which Sharaye helped me pick out. I managed to tie it with out help in the mirror with the photographer snapping pictures of me the whole time. The guys got together me, my Brother in-law, and Sharaye's Brother and we headed for the wedding chapel. I walked down the aisle with the pastor with thoughts racing through my head of me and
sharaye
I was directing the music with nods and looks to some one who was sitting up in the choir loft. Every one had come in and it was time for the bride to make her way down the aisle. We cued the music and then I got to see my Sharaye in her dress for the first time. everything kind of went blurry but her and I don't think I've ever been so happy before in my whole life. She looked amazing. Her father led her down the aisle and we held hands and just stared in to each others' eyes.
We said our vows and I had this utter sense of peace and joy around me. Like I was wrapped up in a big warm blanket of emotion and I knew that my life was complete and a new adventure had just begone. The best kind of adventure with the love of my life. We wouldn't be slaying dragons or building castles in a far off land. We would be adventuring in the real world and no matter what came we would be able to face it together as one. I put a ring on her finger and she put one on mine. We poured two different sands blue and pink in to one container mixing them in layers never to be separated again.
We returned to stand by the pastor as my Sister finished singing our song “A Thousand Years”. The pastor spoke of our vows and what we had done that day and pronounced us man and wife. He said the words “you may now kiss your bride” and we kissed each other as if for the first time with sounds of celebration from every one who had gathered to be with us there that day. We turned as one to the crowd and processed out to begin the picture taking bombardment. :)
I got to help
Sharaye a lot with her dress as we were guided and led from spot to spot to have our pictures taken with and with out our families. everything after went by like a blur we got to do our first dance, cut our cake and Sharaye tossed the bouquet to be caught by
Annikacat and I tossed the garter to be caught by some one else. “hmmmmm... I wonder if we get that back. It would be fun to put back on.”
We were really late leaving and made a run for the car as we were pelted by birdseed by our family and friends. I started our drive to Gatlinberg as Sharaye slept a bit. I entertained my self by listening to the radio and picking birdseed out of my hair and from inside my shirt. Sharaye woke up just in time for the fun part of the drive as we got closer to our hotel from the back roads the driving got windy and twisty like our own roller coaster.
We pulled in and checked in to our room in the Honeymoon suit. I got to carry a surprised Sharaye across the threshold which was fun. She really is fun to carry even when she squirms and insists on being put down.
We had a nice 3 days to relax in our huge room with it's own fireplace and in room jacuzzi, we didn't have to go out much cause we were loaded down with lots of food from the wedding. They had a little water park with a lazy river and a water slide which we got to play on a bit. Mostly just relaxing and not having to worry about any thing was nice.
After 3 days we made our way back to Shar's family home to spend a day on the lake racing around on jet skis and swimming. Time ran on like a blur and we had to pack up to head back to our new home.
We made the drive back together and got in very late but safe and sound unpacked the car together and just settled in.
I know we'll have our ups and downs and in-betweens, but I know we can tackle any thing that comes our way on this new adventure that we face as one.
To my Love. “I've loved you for a thousand years, I'll love you for a thousand more”... and then some.
I love you with my heart and soul for always and forever.
Hugs you tight!!!!!!!

First Journal - Maybe more to follow...
Posted 14 years agoWell I'm sitting in a hotel in Paris France.... Finally got their internet to work and just wondering how to compose in to words the events of the last few days...
I left my home with a large group of about 30 people composed of high school students, young adults, and my family... My trip has been interesting... My brand new camera stopped working 2 days in to the trip... It's a power board issue internal with the camera and is not fixable. It will have to wait till I get back to the USA.
The blessing that turned that frustration around for me was being able to meet up with
Jester77 I had an awesome time running around with this amazing kitty... I miss him already... Sad Face.... He was our guide for a small number of our group and helped us find a great place to eat with local food. He introduced us all to "REAL Skittles" the best kind they have overseas and took me to a local market were I could get a real water-bottle for only 45pents... Still using that bottle buy the way... We went to the British Museum and Jester was Oooing and Awwing over all the old mummys and weapons of long days past... Especially when we found a huge two handed sword that was as tall as our kitty. How do you live one hour away from a place like that and not visit it more often... HUGS!!! Ooo and the Cadbury Chocolate was awesome. Wish I could bring home a case of it.... We had to say our good byes till next time we met... and I went back to the hotel in London...
Two days later lets just say that some of my family members got their bag lifted with all their money and passports in it... I've never had something like this happen to me or close members of my family especially in another country... I miss my Online family soooooooo muuuch!!!! You all know who you are!!!!! It's been fun being able to see the sites and every thing.... but it's hard not being able to share what I'm seeing with every one as my camera is broken... I'd just come to terms with that when the theft issue happened... and now I'm once again asking my self why am I here... It has been a very stress full night and I just needed to vent some of this out of my system even if it was to all my friends in FA or I was going to go crazy.
But I didn't want it all to be negative... I wanted to give Jester a shout out to let him know how much it meant to me to be able to meet up and spend a good part of the day with him.... I really want to visit next year. The time I got to spend with Jester has been one of the highlights of my trip and I think will be my best day this whole trip... I'm really hoping things can get worked out... We're making lots of phone calls... Getting cards canceled and contacting US embassy.... I'm going to be backing my family with my trip money till we can get new cards rushed to our next hotel... Just wanted to give every one a hug from Paris before we moved on to our next stop...
I'll try to do better next time with less run on sentences.. :o) Hugs every one!!!
