That's not how that works...

Having autism of any sort is not carte blanche to be an asshole and do shitty things, ESPECIALLY when other people tell you it's wrong and you tell them to fuck off. Having a hard life is not an excuse to be amoral asshole. If you fuck up, you need to own up. Theft does not a friendship make. I'm glad I blocked this person. I'm also going to be blocking their "friend" too. (which is more likely than not an alternate account.)
As a side note: even if you follow someone, they are NOT obligated to you. They do NOT have to do you any favors, especially if it's to their detriment. Artists make art because they want to and because sometimes it makes them money. And even then- artists reserve the right to decline your commissions if they find it morally reprehensible. (Kudos and thanks to the artist that was approached for this, btw! Don't know who you are, but thanks for following up! You ROCK!). And even if you pay an artist for a commission- they are not obligated to you beyond fulfilling their end of the agreed upon art. Being an artist is a lot like being a cashier- you're polite, and interested, but that's part of the job.
Sorry, that was a big side-step, but I felt it needed to be said.

That's not how you make friends
Posted 7 years agoSo recently a friend of mine (Amarith) found out that someone was trying to steal her character of the same name. Basically, they were in the middle of a collaboration with an artist. Artist (or someone close to them) was approached by the person that was trying to steal Amarith's tigress for a commission piece, stating that they had gotten permission from Amarith to use her character and rename her (to something completely off the cuff- Bethany or something) and to change her backstory. The artist asked Amarith's art acquaintance (the one she's in the middle of doing a collaboration piece with) about this, and the acquaintance informs Amarith- Who then promptly informs them that, NO, they DO NOT have such permissions, and that it was NOT okay. Amarith shut that shit down. The person notes Amarith, giving, what is in my opinion, the most half-assed apology ever. I got the feeling that it was a sort of "it's better to ask for forgiveness than permission" type shit that drives me up a wall. Amarith blocked that person after.
Then, after a few days of being blocked (By the way, I've blocked them too so they can't spy on Amarith's stuff through me.) person's 'friend' sends a note to Amarith, asking for a favor. No context. Just 'hey. I need a favor." Asking for clarification, Amarith was informed that said person who tried to steal her character was sorry and didn't want to be blocked and was just trying to make a friend or two.
*deep breath. Deep, deep sigh. EPIC FACE PALM.*
TRYING TO STEAL SOMEONE ELSE'S CHARACTER TO TOUT AS YOUR OWN IS NOT HOW YOU MAKE FRIENDS!
Holy crap. SERIOUSLY. That's like being in art class, stealing someone's painting as it's drying and trying to sign your name in the corner, then wondering why they're mad at you! YOU KNOW IT'S FREAKING WRONG! CHARACTER THEFT IS AKIN TO ART THEFT! And ESPECIALLY -THAT- particular character. Amarith is a close friend of mine and the fact that someone tried to steal that PIECE of her and claim it as theirs INFURIATES ME.
I won't stay their name in this journal. But I won't hesitate to name-and-shame in the comments.

Woo!
Posted 9 years agoOkay, so, I have access to the drawing tablet. I need to get back in practice with it. I know I have a few big things I'm working on, but I really need to get things down. I'm also switching arting programs, so I need practice with the new program as well. I promise that I will have my big piece up as soon as I am comfortable with these things again. much love! in the mean time, thank you for watching me. <3
Can't draw atm
Posted 9 years agoStill don't have access to the drawing tablet.
HOWEVER
That will not stop me from doing commissions.
I will be doing Gaia sprite commissions for no money! Just let me know if you want to see your character as an adorable sprite chibi and I will do my darnedest to make it happen! :D
Peace!

Arting is on hold
Posted 10 years agoI have some projects in the works that are on hold at the moment. The reason is the tablet I normally use is a friend of mine's and she needed it back for a bit. (namely the battle royal pic). I have quiet a bit of work done on it, but it's still a massive undertaking- I still have 4 characters to draw, plus background and coloring. I promise it'll be awesome when it's done, but until I get the tablet back, it's on hold. Thanks!
YCH BATTLE ROYAL COMMISSION SLOTS CLOSED~

Slacking
Posted 10 years agoHeya. Just wanted to write a quick note to apologize for the lack of uploads. Life's been... well, life. I kinda lost inspiration for a bit, then got sucked into the world of Guild Wars 2, that, and I've been applying for jobs and trying to improve my life by going through some of my stuff to get rid of it. Plus I have a D&D addiction, though I've managed to cut back significantly. And on top of all those excuses (let's not sugar coat things) I've had a horrible sinus infection because spring equals plant bukake season! Woo!*
I'll try to get things up and going again, and try to get my story moving again, though I kind of wrote myself into a corner and need to really decide where it's going for these next few chapters.
I guess what I'm trying to say is - Hey! I'm not dead!
*sarcastic

Pricing sheet for commissions
Posted 10 years agoI've been hesitant to post pricing for commissions, but....
Sketches are $5
line art is $8
flat color is $10
shaded is $15
Additional characters are 50% extra based off the base price
Backgrounds are 25-50% extra based off the base price (simple backgrounds are 25%, complex are 50%)
Example, two characters with complex background as line art would be $16
