In the last update, I said I was engaged and would be married very soon. I wasn't lying! I flew to Canada last week and I married my now wife ! She has been incredibly supportive and patient and loving and kind through this entire ordeal, and without her I don't think I would be here today. I love this wolf so damn much.

In 12 days, I will officially be having dinner in my new forever home in Calgary. There's a lot to do in the meantime, and I am already so exhausted. I'm working on packing up my entire life, as well as deciding what is going with me and what is being abandoned and thrown out. It's hard, and its taking its toll on my mental and emotional health. The actual packing is taking a toll on my physical health too, but that's easier to recover.

I hurt so much from this. All the people and places I love spending time with, there's a real chance I'll never see some of them again and it just hurts.

I really don't know what else to say. I probably should get back to packing, but my back hurts too.

I appreciate all the love and well-wishes you all have given me. It really has helped me get through this without a mental breakdown (or at least, without as bad of one as I could be having).

Just a quick update after the chaos that was MFF!

I had a mixed time. I've gotten really anxious, awkward and prone to panic attacks in large crowds post COVID, so there were a lot of times I just went into full flight mode and needed to retreat to my room. I'm sorry if I didn't see anyone or run into you. I had an incredible time dancing Friday night with my roommates and and the folks from the Sin Bin: , Kimber, and

But one big thing did happen at the con: proposed!! It was incredibly sweet and adorable. We're going to be married in a civil ceremony very soon, and the move is six short weeks away.

...Yeah I feel like I needed to just flat out say what was going on in the title. It's...it's a lot.

So, you all (hopefully) know that I'm a trans woman. I have been on HRT for 13 months now and have been socially transitioned as Samantha since January. Not legally, because that's a process and now there's no time, but I'm getting ahead of myself.

A lot of you probably know I also live in Ohio, and if you didn't, well, I live in Ohio. When I first came out and began socially transitioning, people were great and understanding. I'd argue that most people still are. But because of some fucked up hate-fetish the Republican party has for trans people, my rights and healthcare has been under constant threat. I persisted anyway.

But then the election happened, and all of the worst people won, both the presidential race and in Ohio and already there has been a change. A law was just passed today that will ban gender-neutral bathrooms on college campuses (I work at a college and use the gender neutral bathroom). An appeals court ruled earlier this year that Title IX doesn't apply to trans people in Ohio, so I now have no legal protections against discrimination at work. And on top of all of that, the PEOPLE in town have gone mask off; I have had more harassment by complete strangers in the last ten days than I have the past year of being an out and proud trans woman.

So I'm moving.

To Canada.

In mid January.

My beautiful, incredible, generous, amazing girlfriend has been working tirelessly to make these plans happen FAST, along with my dear bestie and . Without these girls, I genuinely do not think I would survive to 2025. At least not financially; my job doesn't pay me well and I've really been struggling financially and it's only about to get worse, which is another reason I need to get out of dodge and quick.

I was planning on having a table in the Artist Alley at MFF in two and a half weeks, but this sudden change of plans happened and I have decided I no longer will be selling. Instead, I will spend the entire convention finding all of my friends who are there and giving them the biggest hugs they've ever gotten in their life. MFF will be my last American convention for at least four years; basically until I'm certain that I will be safe in America again as a trans person. I'll still live in Canada, but I'll come to cons.

Because the move is so soon, I will not be able to take any new commission work to help offset the costs of the move. Tyr is currently paying for it all, with a gentle, reassuring smile on her face; I just feel like a bad girlfriend for not being able to pull my own weight. So I've put up a donation goal on my ko-fi to help offset some of the costs. I am packing my books, DVDs, clothes, art supplies, and DnD/Warhammer stuff, so I will definitely need to buy some new furniture up there. And it'll be a few months of living in Canada before my work visa is processed, so I won't be able to take any comms til that happens anyway. All donations will go to making sure my transition to Canada goes smoothly and happily.

Hey all!

Another year has come to an end, so let's do a quick update. A few things have changed since my last big update.

LADY FENRIR!!

Last end of year update I said I was transgender and switching to they/them first OR she/her second pronouns and wasn't planning on transitioning "for a long while." WELL, buckle up buckaroos! Because now we're fully living that she/her life, AND I've been on HRT since 9/29/2023! I'll still answer to Fen or Fenrir/LordFenrir, but my preferred name is Samantha, and I'll be changing my real name to that when the time comes.

CONVENTION STUFF

I only have a couple of pieces from my MFF queue left to do! I'm hoping to have the rest finished within a week.

As for cons I'm planning on going to this year, that's a bit in limbo. I'm planning on going to MCFC in April, Anthrohio in May, AC and Fur-Eh in July, and MFF in December. I'd love to try FursonaCon because of it's D&D theme, but I don't think that's going to be in my cards because...

OTHER THINGS:

I lost my job a couple days ago. Needless to say, I'm TERRIFIED. I managed to have enough money to pay January's bills off, but after that, I have nothing left. I'm going to be opening for commissions to help lighten the financial stress, and I'm hoping I can get a new job fast. I'll also plug my ko-fi here. I know times are tough for everyone, so I'm not expecting miracles. I'm just hoping I don't lose my home.

It's been a very tough year. The medical episode in February really hurt me physically, financially, etc, and it unfortunately has been a lot of similar luck. Gods, just trying to get to MFF, I got in a car accident the day before my intended leave date and a train accident on the day I actually left (I was in the train, it did not hit me). It's just been A LOT, and I'm so incredibly thankful to everyone who's stuck by my side through it all. Y'all are the real ones.

GOALS FOR 2024:

My goals for this year are the same as the last two years, because I got none of those done...AGAIN...

D&D GROWTH DRIVE

I'm living by myself now (no roommates or anything), so am raising money for some final bits of furniture to properly call my apartment HOME. On the menu for things to buy include 2-3 bookshelves, a TV stand and a TV to go with it, two 6ftx3ft folding tables for tabletop gaming, a dresser to replace the one that's falling apart, and some decent lighting (my apartment is half underground).

You are hired to find both children and return them to their parents before a brutal war can break out between these two houses.

...it's a work in progress. I have a lot of ideas scribbled down in various documents, and it's starting to come together nicely!

Ugh, I said in JANUARY that I wanted to relaunch my Patreon this year with the work in progress of my homebrew furry heartbreaker RPG system, and unfortunately I haven't got much further work done on that. Let's have an update, because holy crap has it been a week.

C/W: medical

Leading up to the inciting incident, it was a pretty normal day. On Saturday 2/11 we played D&D with friends, had pizza, had a good time. I had been feeling a little bit of nausea the past couple days but I attributed it to the pizza.

Sunday 2/12 I woke up NEEDING to throw up. Already alarming, because it's been like 15+ years since I've vomited. And when I did, it was THICK and BLOODY. I started crying because something was very wrong, and Tiki rushed me to the ER. After three ish hours of being there, I was sent home with some medication and the diagnosis: an upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage. Fun times.

The rest of the week has been me on bedrest. I threw up again both Sunday night/Monday morning, and again Monday night/Tuesday morning, but since then I've felt a lot better stomach wise.

When not sleeping, my week has been consumed by anxiety attacks. I just keep worrying, wondering why, etc. It doesn't help that I've been out of work for a week, unpaid. I work for a small business, so the paid time off isn't an option, but I'm allowed to take as much time as I need.

As such, I've put up a donation goal on my ko-fi to try to regain lost wages and to cover for the possibility of calling out next week too. If you can share it around, I would appreciate it a lot.

I'm going to attempt an exercise walk today, hopefully I feel ok after. I feel so weak because I've been in bed for most of the past six days.

Hey all!

What a crazy first couple weeks of 2023 it's been. I don't have many updates, but there are a few, so...

"LADY"FENRIR??

I don't think I ever posted it here, except for a commission or two I got, but I came out as trans in March. My preferred pronouns are they/them or she/her, whichever you want to use. and Fen or Fenrir is still an appropriate thing to call me since it's what I've been called forever; it's still new enough where I'm still getting used to it. Do I have plans to transition? Probably not for a long while, since there's a lot of other things I need to take care of before that. But maybe someday.

CONVENTION STUFF:

My MFF queue was finished early this week. The remaining pieces should be sent in the mail this weekend.

As for upcoming cons, I'm planning on going to MCFC (hoping I can expand my hotel stay for it, because I only have one night), Anthrohio (haven't been there for years due to work, the Japan trip, and COVID, so I'm looking forward to returning), Anthrocon, and MAYBE a few more. I really want to go to BLFC because of the D&D theme, which, ho boy...

FEN'S THOUGHTS ON D&D

So, one of my goals for this year was to finish writing my "secret project", which is a 5e furry D&D book and have it for sale later this year. Then WotC/Hasbro had their new Open Game License leaked and it basically spits in the face of 3rd party creators. So now I don't know if it's gonna happen.

I've been talking with friends about what to do, and I haven't come to a decision yet. If the OGL 1.1 is legit, which it looks like it is because they just put out a "WHOOPSIE you caught us uwu" statement, I do not want to risk putting my stuff out there if they can just siphon money off of my poor ass and steal my work.

I do have the skeleton of a homebrew TTRPG from over a decade ago that I can do something with, but it will take a lot of work to get it solid. I would definitely need some help with it, and would most likely reopen my Patreon and post WIP stuff there.

Happy New Year everyone! Wait...new year's was over a month ago? FUCK

Well, I haven't had the spoons to write any sort of update; I've been sick on and off all January. Tested negative for COVID, so that's good. But whatever I had lingered on for SO LONG and I have had just terrible brain fog, so 🤷‍♀️

CONVENTION STUFF:

I'm getting pretty close to done with my MFF queue. I had hoped to be done with it by now, but the sickness prevented that from happening. Everything should be done and sent away soon though

As far as conventions this year go: I am currently planning on attending Motor City Fur Con, Anthrohio, Anthrocon, and Midwest Furfest this year. There may be a surprise con sneaking its way in the mix, but we'll see!

PATREON:

It's been a while since I've done anything with Patreon. After the first few months of the pandemic I really burnt myself out. I'm hoping to open it back up in MARCH with more D&D content from my campaign setting, which will all culmination in some sort of secret project. A lot of posts are going to be lore bits for my furry fantasy world, and will only be like a page with illustrations, so it should be easier for me to put out on a regular basis.

GOALS FOR 2022:

I have a few goals for this upcoming year, some art related, some self indulgent:

Well, I got back a few hours ago, but I had to take a bit to rest first.

It feels weird going to conventions again after so long cooped up; so much so that I had pretty much exhausted my social batteries after the artist alley closed. Hopefully at future cons I'll be able to get out more.

But I legit could not have asked for a better convention. Whether due to furries having plenty of cash or a marked improvement in my art over the past year and a half (there's been a lot), this was my best con ever for sales. Exceeding MCFC two months ago, which previously was my best con yet. Holy crap 😳

I'm so incredibly humbled at everyone coming up to my table and being so nice. I definitely cried tears of joy in my room after leaving the alley one day or more.

My new queue has been updated on my Trello, which can be found HERE. I'm hoping to get through these pretty quick.

Wow, it's been a while since I've updated this. Umm, Happy New Year first off...a month late, but you know it's the thought that counts, right?

So what's been happening? Well, I've been sick for almost the entire month. I went back to work right after new year's and got really sick a few days later. Found out when I went to get COVID tested that a coworker just tested positive and I had to quarantine anyway for two weeks. That test came back negative, and I started feeling better, going back to work after quarantine let up.

That first day back, I got sick AGAIN, worse than before, so I had to leave and get another test, which also came back negative. I've got a doctor's appointment today to see what the hell is going on, but I'm already feeling a lot better.

Unfortunately, being sick, I did a whole lot of not much during the last month. A lot of just chilling on the couch or sleeping, being woken up every so often to hack up a lung.

I don't have much of anything finished for Patreon uploading, so it is still paused. I'm hoping that I will be able to have some finished content by March (or April at the latest) to turn billing back on and get more content out to my lovely patrons, but we'll see.

I also have no idea if I'll be attending any conventions this year. I guess I should say I have no idea if there will BE any conventions this year. I know they're planning for it to happen, but whether or not they'll go through with it is subject to change. I'd rather wait another year for cons to be 100% safe than to have one prematurely and have even one person come down with covid because of it.

I think that's about it. Hope everyone's safe and healthy. Hopefully we'll have some better days coming soon. I think we all need it <3
