Migrating to Weasyl
Posted 11 years agoHeya peeps I'm going to be leaving FA. If you want to know why note me and I'll share, but apparently we're not allowed to talk about it. -_- My gallery will be going away gradually over the next week-ish, so here are some other places to find my arts:
Deviantart: http://lorien077.deviantart.com/
tumblr: http://lorien077.tumblr.com/
Weasyl: https://www.weasyl.com/~lorien077
Anyhow I wanted to say thank you to the people who watched me, faved my art, and commented. I really appreciate all of you and that's the only reason I'm a bit sad about leaving. Thanks guys, you're all really awesome. :)

...I gotta update this thing more often.
Posted 12 years agoHello again. Just wanted to point out that I did (finally) update my page with some more information, partly in the hopes to become more active on here. FA has a really nice community, why miss out on that?
So how have you all been? Any exciting news or just something to be pleased about? Been going through a bit of an emotionally bumpy patch myself but am trying to work through it, but am otherwise doing pretty well.
In order to thank you for your patience I present you with a silly internet video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qnydFmqHuVo

Some gallery cleanup
Posted 13 years agoHi guys, its been a while. Moved some stuff into scraps (it was about time) and well... sheesh this needed an update. So how are all of you?
I'm glad my car is working and trying to churn out art for an upcoming con. ;;

Belated Merry Christmas, Happy New Years, and drat
Posted 14 years agoHi guys. Sorry for spacing a bit in updating this. Hope you had an awesome Christmas/Hanukkah/what-have-you. Also hope you're having a fun New Years Eve.
I've got two brief notes. Since I need to go save my husband from the kitten I'll keep it short.
1) As of 11:53 tonight (Pacific standard time) I will officially be a year older. Damnit.
2) If I haven't mentioned it yet my friends and I will be at Stumptown this year, a convention in Portland, OR. If you come by look for Psionic Trilobite studios. We'll be wearing steampunky/ gothy costumes and should be pretty darn easy to spot.

Stop SOPA and ProtectIP!

I'm not going to try to explain all of the details of this bill. I'm not a legal or tech expert, but I know enough to know that not only is this a horrible idea, but it is flat out wrong.
This video explains better than I ever could:

If you want more detail/ haven't read up on it this article will fill you in and point you in the right direction:

I'm late to the party, and I hope everyone reading this is already aware. If this is news to you please act now.
UPDATE:
Here's a petition that goes straight to the Obama administration to stop this thing:

Kumoricon Report and Kitten
Posted 14 years ago(Mostly copy-pasted from DA, sorry!)
Wow that was crazy. Let me tell you, wearing a steel-boned corset two days in a row can be rough!
So lessee highlights from the convention...
Absolutely tons of cosplayers, and not just the anime variety either. I saw the unnamed zombie from 'Hanna is Not a Boy's Name', and a creeper from Minecraft! The creeper I beat in a game of red-light green-light during the 'Anime Hunters' panel (which was suffering from technical difficulties.) Also found an excellent new board game called 7 Wonders, found a wonderful new tea shop (and a random photographer inside), had my first fancy bar drink (in full steampunk garb) and met up with some old friends. All in all great fun! (Also as soon as I have links I'll post pictures of myself, and point you to my sister's cosplays, they were all fantastic).
As I type this I've just cleared my message center, and have a sleeping kitten in my lap. Her name is Lotus, she's a grey-point Siamese (at least partially) and a rescue kitty. Poor dear has a mild upper respiratory infection, but is rapidly recovering with antibiotics. This is the part where I nag you to spay and neuter your pets, and promise you pictures later.
Anyway I need to pass out, likely with a kitty in my bed. (She is the master of guilt, tried to convince her to sleep elsewhere but the sad mewing was too much) How was your labor day weekend, American types? And your normal (?) weekend for the rest of my friendly watchers?

Just tied the knot
Posted 14 years agoWe've been together about seven years, engaged for four, and we finally got married earlier today (technically yesterday). Heading to the beach tomorrow, so I'll be slow to reply if at all. (Not sure the place we're going has internet).
Have an awesome fourth, don't blow yourselves up. ;)

Stop an Atrocity
Posted 14 years agoPlease add your digital signature to stop the slaughter of gays, lesbians, bisexuals, and transgenders in Uganda.

Or Here: http://www.avaaz.org/en/uganda_stop.....ition_2/?rc=fb
While a lot of us aren't from Uganda the hope is that this massive outcry alone will be enough to at least stall such a terrible law. Apparently a similar effort worked before, so no harm in trying.

Happy Easter!
Posted 14 years agoHi everyone, how've you been? Hope you're having a good Easter or a nice Sunday, whichever you prefer.
Sorry for being quiet and slow (as usual) but expect new art soon. After having several of my markers run dry and a frustrating time trying to purchase the inks from my local craft store I found a good place online to buy copic refills. So now the three projects that were waiting on inks can move forward. Speaking of inks I'm trying to kick my bad habit of procrastinating on inking, so expect some new lineart soon too.
So what have you been up to, oh whoever bothers to read these things? Anyone else go to Stumptown comic con last weekend?

The Comic Creators Alliance is at it again! Last year they raised 10,000$ to donate to Love 146 and Gracehaven. These organizations combat human trafficking and support victims respectively.
Want in on this? Check out their site, even if you can't donate you can still help! But if you do donate (and follow the instructions on their front page) you'll get a free wallpaper, chock-full of awesome characters from your favorite webcomics.
So what are you waiting for? Go go go!

Happy New Year
Posted 15 years agoDon't have much to say, just wanted to wish you guys a happy new year. This one was pretty nuts for a lot of us, so lets hope the next one goes better.
I'll turn 22 just before the end of this year, and in 2011 I'll graduate from college, get married, and hopefully ship out to Japan. Guess its time to cross my fingers.
What are your plans, oh handful of people who actually read these things?
P.S. Finally saw 'The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya'. It was beautiful, and makes up for season 2's failings. And I really need to get the light novels.

Merry Christmas, Happy News Years, and Nerdery
Posted 15 years agoMerry Christmas, Happy Hanukah, Happy Solstice, and Merry Tarrasquemas for you nerds out there! I hope whatever you celebrate (or don't celebrate) that you're all happy, warm, and well-fed.
Wondering what the heck Tarrasquemas is? You can find the madness here:
(warning, typical /tg/ madness. This means curses and whatnot)

Its fun, I promise. Here's an adaptation of the grinch from one of the 4chan posters.
Every monster down in Fallcrest loved Tarrasquemas a lot.
But the munchkin who lived north of Fallcrest did not.
It could be because he was min-maxed too much.
It could be because he was greedy and such.
But the most likely reason he was so mean, they say
Was that he would rollplay, not roleplay, all day.
But whatever the reason, his stats or his play,
He stood there above the town before Tarrasquemas day.
For below he could see, every monster beneath,
Was happy now making an elven gut wreath.
"Now they're arranging encounters," he snarled with a sneer,
"Tomorrow's Tarrasquemas, it's practically here!"
And he sneered with his munghkin dice nervously rolling,
"I must find a way to stop Tarrasquemas from coming!
"For tomorrow, you see, every goblin and ork,
"They'll exchange all their presents, they'll eat their long pork.
"Then they'll be happy and content, then they'll happily sing,
"It'll make me feel happy when rage is my thing."
So he hitched up his sleigh to his warhorses heavy,
Which he'd min-maxed to go faster than a 54 Chevy.
With bags of holding and portable holes,
He raced down to the town laden down with ten foot poles.
With his sword he did lay waste to monsters left and right,
And thought he would slaughter all day and all night.
Racing past guards wearing seven-league boots.
To race back up home with his treasure and loots.
When to his dismay, he heard a terrible roar,
Scarier than anything he'd heard before.
And down through the streets raced a monster Colossal,
Twas the Tarrasque, that lovely old fossil!
The munchkin screamed and turned quite white
And pissed in his trousers, from terrified fright.
Seeing himself in the massive black eye,
He was quite certain that he would soon die,
But the Tarrasquemas spirit extends to one and all,
To good and to evil, to chaos and law.
And so he was led to a table, I think,
And given a glass of fine ale to drink.
A lovely roast sausage inside of a roll
Was placed in his hand by a kobold so droll.
And as he stood there, aghast and bemused,
The monsters stood round him and chuckled, all amused.
And the munchkin, with his munchkin-feet ice cold in the snow,
stood INT-checking and INT-checking, how could it be so?
It came without feats. It came without stats.
It came without Paladins, Rogues or Bards.
And he INT-checked and INT-checked ’till his dice were ground down.
Then the munchkin thought of something he hadn’t before.
What if Tarrasquemas, he thought, doesn’t have from a CR.
What if Tarrasquemas, perhaps, needs a little bit more.
And then the littlest kobold of all,
Stood there before him, with his scarf oh so small.
"He said, silly, human, you don't comprehend,
"Today is Tarrasquemas, all conflict must end!"
"For tomorrow we'll go back to the things that we do,
"You'll try to kill us and we'll try to kill you.
"But until then, why don't we be nice to each other.
"For one day, let PCs and mobs be like brothers!"
Then the munchkin looked round him at the monsters so sweet,
And thought to himself, "That's a lot of XP."
He drew his sword then and he started to charge.
But was promptly crushed under a foot oh so large.
Today is Tarrasquemas, the day for good cheer,
But if you're an asshole, you're dead now, you hear?
Because Grampy Tarry's patrolling the streets.
So if you're not nice, you will wind up dead meats.
So drink up your ale and your eggnog so tasty,
And share with your friends some pudding that's hasty.
Give away presents for 1d4 days,
And let your GM know that he's doing okay.
Let's run with the Tarrasque as he bounds through the town,
And when the day's over, we'll see him burrow down,
To the center of the Earth where he'll sleep all the day
Dreaming of next year, the next Tarrasquemas Day.

A whole heck of a lot of stuff, and Commissions
Posted 15 years agoHoy..... after a nutty quarter at school things are still pretty crazy. I'm trying to take care of as much of the wedding planning as I can, and got my wisdom teeth out today. The surgeon was a complete jerk but the nurses were nice and the surgery itself went fine. And other than random bouts of having issues staying awake I'm fine.
After trying to write a proper review of Megamind last night, I've mostly given up. So I will just say this; the movie was freaking awesome, filled with a lot of subtle characterization, great art (especially the expressions of the characters) and way too many funny moments to count. It may be a bit late to see it in theaters, but if you can I definitely recommend it.
Also I'm opening commissions again, but only small things to ensure I can get them done in a timely manner. You can chose from two types if you're interested.
Full Color Chibi commission: 5-8 dollars depending on character complexity.
(A simple Background is complimentary with any chibi.)
I draw a variety of Chibi styles, so please tell me which type you like best of the ones below.
Style 1: http://lorien077.deviantart.com/art.....6496&qo=12
Style 2: http://lorien077.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d2hgb07
Full Color Character portrait commissions: 6-11 dollars depending on complexity of character. Additional characters are 3-5 dollars depending on complexity. Like the examples shown below your picture will have a simply background, or at least tie together to form a tidy shape.
Examples:
http://lorien077.deviantart.com/art.....36496&qo=7
If you want to commission something larger feel free to drop a note, it just won't be done by Christmas or anything.
And last but not least.
Happy Holidays!

Hello
Posted 15 years agoHi there. Finally got around to creating an account for myself here. Was worried I didn't really fit, since I don't draw animals, but was told people with animal traits (like wings and the like) counted, so here I am?
I'm sort of your stereotypical shy nerd. This applies to my artwork, which is primarily artwork of my Dungeons and Dragons characters, as well as a few other pen and paper based original characters. Also some critters on occasion, and now that my general anatomy is improving I'll be drawing more of them.
I do both traditional and digital artwork, both of which I strive to improve, but favor inking digitally for both. (I.E. I'll ink a picture in paint tool SAI, print it, and then color it with my markers) Collaberations are lots of fun for me, my latest (and best, though that's probably because
cervidian94 is awesome) is here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4316965
If you want to collaborate with me just ask, but please don't ask me to color mature artwork. I'm not kidding about the shy bit. Also I happily take commissions, as long as they are not mature in nature. Nudity can be okay, but its up to my discretion I'm afraid. Beyond that I'll warn you I'm not too experienced with drawing anthro art, but I'll always try. However coloring anthro art I seem to do well, and you can commission me to just color a piece (with permission of the artist of said piece if you did not draw it)
Anyway its nice to meet you, and hope to make some friends here. Feel free to ask questions, or just strike up a conversation. :)
