General | Posted 13 years agoI'm rather set on the designs that I commissioned for both Lycodrake and Marie - they're very, very much what I had in mind. I can't thank Yuririi enough. X'D
I have a few other characters I'm designing, the main one being a partial villain/antagonist by the name of Randt - pronounced like "Randit" but I like it spelled without the "i". XP
The very basic idea for him would be "serpentine" especially like a European wyrm or Indian naga (non-humanoid).
His tail would have or be a natural weapon in use and shape (club or axe, maybe), and he would focus mainly on status ailments and mid-range attacking. That part was a suggestion to "round out" between Lycodrake and Marie, who are "resistant speedster" and "tanking healing, bombarding mage".
Besides that, I think I've decided that I'll have my version of Ares/Mars be an ophiotauros - half snake, half bull.
I am still debating if I want to keep my version of Athena Nike as a gryphon, or if I want to switch her to more like a Terror Bird. I like Chocobos, that might explain it. XP
I also have a map in the works, but don't really think it's all that special; I might post it? Don't know.

General | Posted 13 years agoI've been feeling rather depressed lately - one reason: my character Lycodrake, and the feeling I had that he wasn't original or unique enough - to some standard I set up for myself without knowing or for some fictitious audience. ^^;
So I did some research into mammal-like dinosaurs, which led to the Gorgonopsids, because I thought I could draw some sort of inspiration from them. Turns out that there's one by the name of "Lycaenops" ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lycaenops ), which has a skeletal structure similar to what I had and have had for Lycodrake himself.
Deciding what redesigns or revisions I want to make to my other characters.
Might decide to change Cait/Marie into an entirely new design; I'm thinking of "big cat mixed with camel or vise versa" and "djinn, or ifrit" - maybe some "Arabian Nights", too.
Breakthrough, here's something~: the Agriochoerus. Camel-related and with claws.~
