Posted 9 years agoSo after a rough few months (since my birthday at the end of August of last year til just after Thanksgiving) I'm in a much better place, both physically, mentally and emotionally. I'm not longer living in my apartment and moved into the city. I've got a (mostly) complete living space to myself, time to do what I want when I'm not at work, and slowly building up the energy to make art again. I've made new friends and reconnected with old ones that I've lost touch with. On top of everything, I started seeing one of my best friends of almost 8 years that we've known each other and its going very well!

Starting Over
Posted 12 years agoSo I decided on a few things I've been thinking over the past week or two:
1. Limited To No Commissions
I'm torn when I take on commissions, because I like drawing something I haven't done before, but at the same time, if its not my strong suit or if its not turning out how I like, I'll either get bored or burnt out with it.
2. "Me" Art
I almost never do art for just me anymore. I use to just draw or paint when the spark ignited, but lately I haven't been doing that. That was usually when I could churn out my BEST art. Plus, I have 2 comics in the works that I want to flesh out, story and art wise, so I have that to work on
3. No Personal Twitter Accounts
I'm tired of trying to talk to people who outright ignore me or try to play stupid and say they're not getting their replies or direct messages. I'm sick of trying to connect with people and being flat our ignored when I can clearly see they're replying back to someone(s) else. I still have my Tumblr accounts for my personal and adult stuff, since I did have an After Dark Twitter as well.
4. Artistic Twitter
I decided to make an art only Twitter for those who are interested in my art, furry and non furry, and for when I do decide to do art specials, most likely only cheap sketches and whatnot. New Twitter can be found https://twitter.com/LynxDarkwyndArt
5. More "Me" In General
I realized I was relapsing into my "All about everyone else" mentality. I'd care about everyone else over how I felt, put everyone else above my needs and wants, no matter how stretched out I was. 99% of the time I'd be the one to try an start a conversation with people. So in short; not taking on many commissions (not that people were lining up to commission me anyways), make more personal art, and don't focus on everyone else and give MYSELF some much needed attention.

Live Update!
Posted 12 years agoSo our move went smoothly! All of our stuff, save for a few things we forgot, got moved into our new place, which we LOVE. We won't have internet till the 14th, right now we're using the club house's free WiFi until then. Once I get back to my regular days off I'll be able to get back to streaming. Most likely I'm going to do pay what you want streams and sketches as low as $1, so keep a look out on here and on my Twitter! (listed on my main page!)

We've found a place for $560 a month, a little higher than what we were planning for, but we have to take what we can get. Its an amazing place, especially for what rent is. Right now we've still got the donation money people have sent us, which is right around $400, so its still going to be tight.
My mom said she'd be able to help us out a bit, but I'm not sure how much she's willing to give us.
So if ANYONE can commission or donate to us to help us out, I'll gladly give you art compensation or jettabenton1985 can give you custom jewelry compensation in return.

We need to move, so here's the deal.
Posted 12 years agoOur landlord just claimed his 'office' which is just him and his wife, is going to start charging us $25 per pet, not just the cat, but for all our rats. That's BULLSHIT. He doesn't like the rats and is allergic to cats. He actually told me I better 'give them away', or something. Jetta and I are going to look into finding somewhere else to live.
Our lease expired in February, so he can legally add this clause to our contract and have us sign it. So this means we have a limited amount of time before he figures out to do this, and write up a new lease for us to sign. Please! Help us out if you can, I'm open for commissions and Jetta will be open for jewelry commissions, $10 earrings + shipping.

I'm mostly doing this for 2 reasons: practice drawing with my tablet/practice with coloring/practice in general and to get my name out there. A new way to purchase a commission from me is to buy something off my
Amazon wishlist!
Each transaction will be negotiated, but the bases of this way of getting commission is as follows:
For example: If you purchase one item and spend a total amount (including shipping) of say $10, you'll get $10 worth of art!
If you get 2 or more items, (Blu-Rays most likely, since that makes up most of my wishlist XD I encourage you to get the cheapest, used copies!) and say you spent $10 on the movies themselves and the shipping is $10-15 (Since if you buy used Blu-Rays they're usually from different sellers and each can charge different shipping prices), you're spending a total of $20-25 total, right? I'll be giving you the $10-15 you spent on shipping in art EXTRA!
For each item you buy over 1, you get an EXTRA $5 worth of art! So for example: You buy 4 items for $20, pay $15 for shipping, which equals $35. Since you bought 4 items, you get and EXTRA $20 worth of art!

I was thinking of doing 2 different types of pre-made badges; one being Sexuality badges, the other being Relationship badges!
