wedding in 3 months =w= (+help?)
Posted 10 years agoI can't believe my wedding is so close now. Feels like it has snuck up on me.
If anyone would feel like helping me, I still have a few items I would like to sell that are just taking up space in my room. I made all of them and would like to see them used.
I'll try to get a picture of all of them for the viewings. :)
Weddings are expensive! D:

would anyone be interested in a tail?
Posted 10 years agoHello everyone,
my wedding is coming up fast, and I'm really incredibly tight on funds right now. Would anyone be interested in commissioning me for a wolf/fox tail? They are all made of 100% acrylic yarn, and they clip to a belt loop using a hook clip.
I think I would charge $30 for a single-color tail, and $40 for a tail with a different color tip. I could probably do multi-colored tails, but I've never tried it and can't guarantee how it would turn out.
Here is one tail I made, and here is another. Each tail is about 18" long.
I will also work on premades, and I'm planning to sell both tails shown in the examples.
Please let me know if you are interested, and we can discuss prices. :) Thanks so much!
Also, if you're feeling extra generous, you are always welcome to send donations to mushra453@yahoo.com on Paypal. That will be the method of payment I will accept as well (US dollars, no shipments outside of the continental US). Each donation will get at least a little sketch for their trouble.
Thanks for reading!
TL;DR- I'm selling yarn tails, want one? :U I need to fund my wedding.

LEAVE A ONE-WORD COMMENT FOR A PRIZE
Posted 10 years agoI need a really quick bit of advice, so in return I'm offering a free drawing. xD I am desperate.
I want to start a new Facebook account in which to post my art, share silly things, and post whatever.
But I need a name.
Please leave a comment with a name suggestion, and I will randomly choose one person (whether or not I chose that name) to receive a drawing for free. I will draw whatever you ask for (just keep it PG-13).
I'm doing this because I'm tired of my family interrogating me every time I post something on FB, and Tumblr is too confusing.
Tl;DR LEAVE A NAME SUGGESTION IN THE COMMENT SECTION AND YOU MIGHT GET FREE PICHURR
this journal is also on DeviantArt: http://kikiavelan.deviantart.com/jo.....rize-505592323

Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley
Posted 10 years agoI want to do a review of this game, because it's so different from other Harvest Moon games. Good thing? Bad thing? Not sure.
First, what makes this game different from other Harvest Moon games?
The map is gridded out, just like Minecraft. You dig out half-blocks and replace them to make roads and satisfactory landscapes, just like Minecraft. Another different thing about this Harvest Moon is that you have your tools, but you don't manually scroll through them and hit your action button. All you do is hit the action button when the proper context comes up on the screen. Finally, G (the currency) doesn't have nearly as large of an impact as in past games. Not everything requires material and money. It's strange and interesting. Also, if you want to become close with villagers as they move in, you can't give them gifts. Each person has different requests or goals that you have to help them reach in order to become closer with them. Oh oh, and there's a JUMP button! :D
What is the basic story?
You start out walking through a blizzard, and someone appears in the distance. He/She says you should take shelter in this nearby house, so naturally, you go inside. For some reason, from this point on, you just accept this house as your own. *shrug* *plothole?* *amnesia?*
The next day, you walk into a snowy field and hear someone shouting for help. You dig into the snow to find a little yellow harvest sprite. He explains that the mountain was once bountiful and full of natural beauty. He decides to burden you with the task of reviving the Harvest Goddess and awakening his fellow harvest sprites. Naturally, you accept. :I
Okay, this game doesn't hand you everything when you start out. You have a handful of tools, and the wild landscape. That's all you get. You have your little house, too, so you have somewhere to sleep and store your notes and junk. But you literally have to carve out the mountain so you can reach the Harvest Goddess Spring. It's a good thing your character is a natural-born landscaper (apparently).
Can you still do Harvest Moon things?
You can do the staple activities of Harvest Moon, like planting crops and raising livestock, and even getting married (from my understanding; I haven't gotten that far yet). Reaching those points is kind of outside your jurisdiction, however, and most of the events are triggered from just going about each day as you would in any game that plops you in the middle of nothing. New things happen as you dream at night and wake up each morning, rather than when you enter certain areas.
Anyway, overall, this Harvest Moon game is different from other Harvest Moon games I have played, but pleasantly so. If you're a hardcore Harvest Moon fan, you may not like how dramatic these changes are. However, if you love Minecraft or want a new perspective on an old classic, give it a try. :)

Merry Christmas!
Posted 10 years agoMerry Christmas to all. :D
I hope you guys aren't starting your day the way I did, with your car stuck in a muddy ditch because it's been raining so much. Makes for a somewhat frustrating start to the holiday festivities. xD
But I'll live. <3

Animals!
Posted 11 years agoI've always loved dogs, wolves, and horses more than any animal out there, but I love so many in general.
Nowadays, I particularly love goats, sheep, deer, rams, and anything of that sort. :3 And unicorns are always at the top of my list~

Guys, I'm weird (spirit animal post)
Posted 11 years agoEver since I was little, I've felt really connected to the wolf. I know, in the furry fandom, wolves are probably the most common fursona besides foxes. But this goes back to when I was able to form long-term memories.
We always went to Oconaluftee Village for vacation, a Cherokee Native American reservation. We were at the tourist side, of course. Native Americans and impersonators alike would always get together in the streets and perform their traditional stories and dance.
All the souvenir shops smell like leather and incense, and they all have traditional music blaring over the loud speakers. This place is still around, and I hope it stays forever.
Through everything I see there, all I truly care about is the one attraction I have never seen there: wolves. I feel their spirit among the native people, and I feel more wolf than Native American (I have Cherokee bloodlines in my family) on the inside.
Now, horses are very special to me as well. I love them, and they give me true peace when I'm around them. But wolves feel like family. I've been around one wild wolf in my life, and I can't believe how stupid I was.
She wandered up one day. Having mated with the neighbor's German Shepherd, she had no intention of leaving. She was completely feral, not letting anyone within a yard of her. But I wouldn't give up. Eventually, I could sit right with her and Arrow (her mate). She wouldn't let me touch her, but she would interact with me on her own terms (ie, nudging me, sniffing me, in one instance putting her large jaws gently around my face). And every night, she would howl. I would have given anything to have gone out there with her and howled, but my parents restricted my visits with her for obvious reasons.
It was when she started growling at my dad that they decided to call Animal Control. It was a sad day.
TL;DR I think the wolf is my spirit animal and every time I hear one howling or hear a drawn-out note I wanna howl, too. :U
And I love pretending I am one. >.> Because I'm an adult dammit.

Do you ever have commitment issues with projects?
Posted 11 years agoI have had this one unfinished plush since around August of 2011. I was going to make it as a birthday gift for my then boyfriend (now fiance). I've worked on it little by little since then, but it's ridiculous how long it's taking me to finish it.
I made a goal to finish it by Christmas of this year, but I have had such a rocky road with this thing. xD But I am so excited to see it finished. I really have slacked so much because it requires a lot of cutting out the same little pattern over and over and over and then painstakingly sewing them together.
I'll feel like I got an Achievement when I finally finish it. xD And boy will my fiance be shocked.

I have too many hobbies. xD
Posted 11 years agoI have so many projects going on and projects I want to start on that I can hardly get anything done. BUT, I am thankful that I'm doing artsy stuff at all, because I was in a slump for a very long time before sometime during the past year.
Current projects:
-Halloween costume (Goodwill rummaging)
-tail to go with costume (making it using a time-consuming method)
Projects I want to start on:
-fix up Lyvain partial suit a bit (i.e., add teeth and make alternate handpaws, maybe make some accessories)
-make a FNAF Foxy suit or gijinka (can't decide which)
-get around to that painting and yarn puppy that my aunt wants >.>
-attempt different fur suit parts (handpaws, tails, maybe a head if I can scrounge up the materials, FEETPAWS AND LEGWARMERS MMMMM)
-Ugh how I want legwarmers =w=
Anyway, yeah... Living in a dream world filled with projects I have yet to begin, much less finish. And dammit do I want legwarmers. It's been a secret til now. Haha.

Momocon 2014 -sad-
Posted 11 years agoI had been planning to attend Momocon 2014 this year for a few months now, but it seems a lot of financial issues have come up and I may not be able to attend, after all...
So sad. T.T I hope to go to at least one con this year, and I was all hyped for this one. I wanted to strut around in my adorable partial.

My Little Pony plush -selling-
Posted 11 years agoI have a few questions:
-Would anyone be interested in buying a My Little Pony plush if I started making them?
-Would anyone be interested in commissioning me for a MLP plush?
I finished my first one pretty quickly, and it wasn't difficult at all, so I would like to try making them to sell. :3 It would really help with my recent bills.
They would be made of fleece material with embroidered eyes and cutie marks. Their feet/flanks will be weighted with plastic beads so that they can sit more easily without falling over.
I will need to make my own pattern, because I borrowed one for my Fluttershy plush.
Let me know your thoughts in the comments. :) It will be a little while before I begin making them, so please keep track of me~

It is snowing generously today.
Posted 11 years agoAnd having lived in rural Georgia my whole life, I did not expect this in the least. XD
Whenever weather man cries "snow", our groceries fill up with people seeking bread and milk (for some reason), but I don't panic in the least because it never actually snows.
...
Well, almost never.
Today, the snow has completely covered, well, everything. I had to leave work early on completely smothered and frozen roads; this being my first inclement weather driving experience, it was terrifying, to say the least. It took me about 20 minutes to make a normally 7-minute drive. But hey, kudos to my car, because it didn't slide in the least. :D I went between 15-20 miles per hour the whole way home, but I didn't dare take my car up our driveway. It is a very steep, diagonal slope, and it's buried under snow, so I parked that shit at the bottom and hoofed it up.

I bought "Draw More Furries"
Posted 11 years agoI went out of town alone the other day and bought "Draw More Furries", a furry how-to book that I saw at Michael's. I've used one article from it and it's pretty neat. :3 Since I have a personal computer at my home now (with internet access!) I can freely draw more furries. :D I feel like I need to be alone to draw anything anyway, but furries are the main subject that I cannot draw with anyone around me. I don't know why. XD
Anyway, I've already completed one drawing (but it's on my
Furmiliar account because it has boobies), and I'm almost finished with another drawing (I think I can put it on both accounts because it has boobies but no nipples), and I have a third drawing that I need to add a background in. :3 So holy cow, I'm actually drawing again!
Just felt like I needed to update. :3 I was going to title this "Leaving FA" but I didn't want to beat the dead horse.

Furries furries furries furries furries' fatal fandom fury.
Posted 12 years agoI still love furries and still consider myself Lyvain, the generic, unnaturally-colored wolf with social anxiety. I just wish I could draw furries more. XD I either am not near a drawing platform, or I cannot find the inspiration/motivation when I am near one. So sad...
Maybe I'll hit another well of inspiration soon...
