We made ears, with no tables in the class room. We made it work, and Meowth Mom was an awesome helper.

Posted 11 years agoWe made it in one peice! Mostly.. need to earn $200 cash by 10pm tomorrow to finish paying hotel. OTHER than that, all is going well? Table is half set up, badges are get, and there is GIANT FOOD at my table!
Everybody loves the baked potato plushies, and I haven't even buttered them yet. Also finished the 40" banana plush. It's full of potasium! I mean... polyester. I should take bets about which will sell first.

Posted 11 years ago..It's ME! I've got a hotel room (at the other one - Quality Inn, right across the street) and a table, and four sewing workshops to host... but no ride HOME.
IF anyone near-ish or passing by 19464 has a hatchback-or-larger sized vehicle, and room enough for my merch, my panel supplies, and my butt - LATE Sunday, or any time MONDAY - That's what I'm looking for. ((Latest Update: Mate *will* be driving me in on Thursday. His boss is now only HALF a jerk!))
I have a HOTEL ROOM with AN EXTRA BED, and YOU CAN SLEEP THERE FOR FREE.
I *never* roomshare with strangers, but.. with two weeks left? I kind of need to be flexible.
Any ideas, folks?

When it's the mate and I working a con together, we bring minimal luggage, and the rest of the Honda Fit is crammed to the gills with (etched glass, plushies, display pieces, a few tools for at-con commissions, and mostly panel stuff - fabric, fiberfil, and all that.)
TIMING: I've got workshops to run on Sunday, and a table to break down after that. Leaving SUNDAY NIGHT or any time on MONDAY would work best..
I'm also looking for a table-sitter while I'm running workshops, but if I have to close the table, I have to close the table..
What I can give:

KickStarter - Pony Hockey Jerseys!
Posted 11 years agoAbout once a year or so, The Mate has an IDEA. (oooh, aaaah!)
This year, it was a really GOOD idea. We decided to Do It. The Idea, I mean. That thing.
See, I *love* ponies. Ridiculously so. I have ever since it was called My Pretty Pony, and only came in brown.
He's more of a sports dork. Basketball, baseball, football, and... yeah. Hockey. *brr!*
Somehow, we manage to cohabitate. Music and anime and comic books help - BUT! This? This Idea? This is why I love him.
Pony-inspired parody hockey jerseys. The show uses a few clever, pun-ny location names. (We're near Fillydelphia, for example.) - And it's easy enough to come up with other silly, like-themed names. Baltimare. Vanhoofer. Manehattan.
And it got sillier from there, coming up with the names of hockey players, like Mane Gretzki and Bobtail Orr.
We kinda HAD to do it.
We sought out a place that makes custom jerseys, and he threw some shapes and colors together. Some of those jerseys look pretty damned good.
But... they're EXPENSIVE. Go to your local sporting goods store and take a look - some jerseys can sell for $200 or more, for popular players!
Tee shirts are cheaper, and everybody loves tee shirts, right?
I've been etching glass for fourteen years now, so we're also offering Pints and Shots.
And of course, we're doing stickers, because YAY STICKERS.
Now, we aren't about to go using exact Hasbro characters. That's a big No No, and we've already got some great themey ideas, without doing so.
Last weekend, we launched our very first KickStarter, and the first of the jersey designs.

We also WANT YOUR HELP in naming MORE CITIES, and MORE PLAYERS.

Posted 11 years agoBeen keeping my head down this spring. Conplague, cons, more cons, BIG SCARY BUSINESS STUFF, training for new-to-me technologies, and, and, and.
Mate's mother turned into Mecha Godzilla and smashed Tokyo? Yeah, that happened.
MY mother that I haven't seen in 5 years is coming to visit, so I need toburn down clean the apartment? NO PRESSURE!
Working on ONE big crowdsourcing thing, and ONE big *old* commission (I'm on it, I'm on it! I'm scared.. but it's working!) and catching up on the little sales that have been trickling in since Arisia.. I'm here.

Ft'M Workshop - Sew a Pocket Pony!
Posted 11 years agoIf you've attended this workshop at other conventions, you might notice something different this time around.
The ponies, they have been CUBED!
If you haven't attended this workshop before, let's pretend nothing's amiss.
The old pattern had been a bit.. bewildering.. to many novice sew-er-ers. (Sewers. Seamsters. Uhm..) - I'll have the last remains of those pre-prepped bodies at this class, AND materials to make the new Pony Cubes.
NEXT year, this workshop will be Sew a Pony Cube. Far less confusing (but still pocket-sized!)

And of course I'll have yarn for manes and tails, beads for eyes, colored thread for those diligent enough to try embroidering their faces.. pony faces. Not.. embroidery.. on your human face. That'd be awful.
