Wow, it's been a while since I've been active on here. In a way it's nice. Almost like coming back home, you know? I've been around, lurking, liking. But not really posting the pieces I've had done. Not posting silly journals. I grew distant from the community that I once felt like home in. Some things have happened in my life that have me coming back to my roots again, though. Finding the things I once found happiness in. Unfortunately, it can't all be good, right? other things have come to the surface that I thought were long behind me. Feelings I thought were gone. An ache I thought I was past.

Someone I lost touch with years ago crossed my mind again the other day, and the more I thought about him, the more I realized just how much I've missed this fox. He's without question, the kindest, purest soul I've ever had the privilege to know. It's just so confusing, suddenly realizing that the love you felt for someone didn't ever really go away like you thought. That it was just pushed down, locked away in a box to stop the ache from breaking you. And now that box is open again. I fear I won't ever get the chance to tell him how much he still means to me after all of these years, and how much I miss having him in my life. I've tried to find him again, but with no success. It's like he's just fallen off of the world. So the ache I feel is tinged with worry.

So I've been having some trouble with my desktop for a while now. I use it for gaming and during graphics intensive games, often the whole computer will shut down without warning or an error screen of any kind. After it shuts down, it won't turn back on unless I reset the switch on the power supply.

Now, that said, I've run said games while monitoring the CPU temperature and it stayed within 58-62*C the entire time, up until the computer shut off again. I'm starting to think that the power supply is failing but I'm not entirely certain. Any thoughts?

I am very, very disappointed in the unprofessional and careless nature in which FA was sold, and the time frame in which we were notified of the sale. so I bought the Magpul MOE forend for the Mossberg 500/590/590A1 and it doesn't fit my 500. the instructions even state the proper parts (included) to use when mounting to the 500. Thing they don't tell you is you need the 7 3/4 tube. Mine has the 6 3/4. anyone know where I can get the 7 3/4 tube without spending a small fortune..?

so a few weeks ago, my ex took me back, only to leave me again tonight. said he wasn't happy cause he said he couldn't deal with my depression, and that "cling film could take lessons from me". He was always so kind to me before and so patient.. at least that's the way he seemed. I thought he was different but in the end, he wasn't.. he was just like all the rest.

Had a nice chat with the mother of a friend of mine. She's almost like another mom to me. She told me that he's not worth being upset over and she doesn't want to hear me crying over him anymore. That by giving that much of myself I'm selling myself short, that I'm upset over someone who doesn't understand my true worth. I really thought he did understand that, but I was wrong. What she said doesn't take away the pain, and it doesn't stop the tears, but I know I'm worth more than this. more or less, the point she was trying to make is that I'm better off without someone who doesn't see my true worth and doesn't see my good qualities and the more I think about it... the more I see that she's right

how do you keep going when it feels like every last bit of hope is gone..? when you feel like you don't even have the will to keep pushing forward anymore?

people keep telling me that 'it gets better' and 'you'll heal' and 'you'll find someone new'.. and while that's probably true it doesn't seem like it. it doesn't feel like it. the worst part about all this is knowing that its my fault that I'm in this much pain. that one bad, selfish decision caused this.

the other day my mom said to me 'you're a good man, Andrew'. and just today someone else said it to me at work.. I just wish I believed it. I used to believe that I was an honorable man. an honest man. a man of character. but in the end, after what I've done, I believe myself to be none of those things.

so in the next couple weeks I might be getting a new handgun to replace my current concealed carry. I've already chosen which one I want and can afford, I just don't know which round I want it chambered for. it's available in 9x19 and .40 S&W for the same price.

which round do you prefer and why?

I can't decide because .40 has more stopping power, but I'm not entirely sure I'd be alright with the recoil, especially with how light the gun is. 9mm has a little less stopping power, but I know I can handle the recoil and can accurately fire follow up shots.

so I started working a new job on Wednesday. You'd think I'd be happy to finally be working, but really I'm not.. not because I don't like working or anything. I enjoy my job and I'm glad that I'm not unemployed anymore. but starting a new job and going through one of the roughest break ups of my life all in one week is just nearly unbearable..

I'm just absolutely devastated over losing the man that I love with all of my heart. and the worst part is knowing that he's hurting too, and that it's my fault.. He was always there for me, even before he and I got together. He was always the one I turned to when I needed a shoulder to cry on or someone to comfort me. He's such a wonderful man and was always so good to me. and in the end I took him for granted.. and I regret that. He's the best lover I've ever had and the best friend I've ever had, and theres nothing that can replace that.

I feel as though a part of me is missing, and I suppose that in a way, there is. If you end up reading this, Richard, I'm so sorry for what I've done to you and I regret it with every last part of me.

I've read several journals about a situation with sofurry about artist's terms of service and posting what they will allow as far as modifications and posting of an art piece.

I can understand why an artist wouldn't want their work to be modified. They've put their time and effort, and more often than not, a lot of passion into each piece. But one thing that I have a hard time understanding is when an artist doesn't want the art of the commissioner's character, which is the commissioner's intellectual property, and has been paid for to be reposted by the person who paid for it. I understand completely if they request that you give credit where it's due, and even if they haven't requested that you give credit, it's good to do it anyway. But if you can't repost the art you paid for, then whats the point? Personally, I will not commission an art piece from an artist who won't allow me to repost, with credit to the artist, the piece that I have paid for, that depicts my character and intellectual property.

Honestly I believe that the subject could have been handled a hell of a lot better by the staff of Sofurry, but I believe that they did make a good point. while I don't completely agree with some of the things stated in their post regarding the issue, I do believe that it is a good idea for an artist to post their terms of service if they are going to be accepting any type of payment for their services. I believe the "I shouldn't have to post a TOS because you should just assume that you can't repost or modify your commission" argument is somewhat rude and childish. Not everyone is going to assume those things, and if you think they are, you're just setting yourself up for a whole lot of disappointment.


Just my opinion. You can agree with it, or disagree with it. You are entitled to your own opinion, after all
