Just an update: my 8 year old cat, Towan, needs a little love from the vet. I think he has a bad tooth, and as such, he's hesitant to eat his kibble (i cant blame him) and he's lost a little bit of weight. I'm saving up to get him looked at, and in the meantime, i wanna try to help him keep his weight up.

I think it's time for a little bit of an update, we have some big changes here. So let's rip off the band-aid.

I got fired.

Yeah. It hurt, but ultimately, the management of my former workplace was getting increasingly authoritarian and unfriendly. I had been planning on leaving before summer reading this year but the Universe decided I needed to go now. Thank you Universe, for forcing me to listen.

What does this mean for Patreon? Well, considering my other day job can only give me limited hours due to budget constraints, i am going to focusing on my freelance and Patreon as my primary source of income. hey there! Just thought id give a life update! 2020 has been really hard on me, and i'd like to take a moment to explain whats been going on, and why im going to be pushing commissions over the next bit of time here.
CW: medical terminology, reproductive organs and chronic pain.

So, in September of 2019, i started developing chronic pain. This pain coincided with "shark week" "mother nature" "the red tide" however you call it. But regardless, that cycle was so painful I ended up having a panic attack while driving to work, and my mother had to come get me and take me home (my dad came and got my car) i spent the rest of the day curled up on the couch with a heating pad and ibuprofen that didnt cut it. Since then, this has only gotten worse and worse, and I have gone from being able to take 1 aspirin and sleeping 30 minutes and being fine, to taking 800 mg of ibuprofen every 8 hours with minimal relief for four days, living under a heating pad and constant exhaustion and having minor pain for weeks at a time, as well as a handful of other things.

Luckily, I work part time at the local library, and my manager is AMAZING and understands chronic pain well, and i am allowed 1-2 days off every month if i need it. Ive been researching my symptoms, and it appears I may have endometriosis. This is unsurprising, given an extensive family history of endo and adenomyosis. Now unfortunately, I am uninsured, have student loans, and in America. SO im fucked. In order to get the imaging and tests i need, I need to save up a pretty significant amount of money (i need two ultrasounds and an MRI, as well as potentially laparoscopic surgery), and as such, i will be opening commissions for the foreseeable future in order to save up money for this to get my health under control.

TLDR: im in pain for 2 weeks every month and i need help, opening commissions again.

Hello everyone! how are you all?? I hope things are going well for you. Things are going quite well for me. Here's my updates for now!

In a week, I will be moving to Cincinnati Ohio until mid December. I am Interning at the Cincinnati Zoo in the primate department, an opportunity i NEVER thought i would be offered.

Now of course, this opportunity presents a significant challenge for me. I will be jobless for three months. This is gonna be very hard on me, and i really REALLY need commissions in order to just get groceries and necessities. I had to buy new muck boots, pants, etc. and pay for housing, and that put me out about $400.

Now most of you know i work hourly... that does NOT mean work is necessarily expensive. I work VERY VERY quickly. In the titles of my commissioned pieces, there is usually a (#h) at the end of the titles, that tells you how many hours it was. I can do some very nice stuff in 1-3 hours, and even better stuff in 4-6.

So please... order something. if ten of you order 1 hour of work that'll help me IMMENSELY.

SO this is something that ive been thinking of doing for a while. Heres how this is going to work, theres two options:
you give me one your characters, their design, their personality, etc.
OR
you give me YOU, what you look like, your personality, etc
And i Turn you of your character into a primate! Note this covers Prosimians, Lemurs, Monkeys, and Lesser and Greater Apes, so anything from a mouse lemur to an aye aye to macaques of all species, gibbons and Chimps, orangutans, gorillas, and bonobos.

So, as some of you may know, this week is Orangutan Caring Week. Orangutans are one of four extant species of great ape, five if you include us. They are the only great ape species to live solitary lifestyles, the only ones with long red hair, and the only ones to spend a vast majority of their lifetimes in the treetops. There are two species, the sumatran and the bornean, living on the respective islands of Sumatra and Borneo in Indonesia. Orangutan means "person of the forest" and, as you look at them, it isn't hard to see why. They share 97% of their DNA with us, so for all intents and purposes, they are our cousins.

Unfortunately, without our help, they won't be here. Estimates of wild populations of orangutans are not good, with Sumatran orangutans numbering at around 7,000, and Bornean at less than 30,000. Now, that wouldnt be so alarming if an orangutans interbirth interval (the length between having babies) wasn't 6-9 YEARS. Yes thats right. 6-9 YEARS between babies. That means, in a life of 50 years, a female orangutan may only have 4 or 5 babies. Orangutans are being pushed out of their jungle habitat by deforestation for palm oil plantations. Palm oil is used in many snack foods and soaps. Do we really want one of our cousins to go extinct from snacks?

I know I don't. For the past two years, I offered prints of an orangutan painting for Orangutan Caring Week. But last year... noone bought one. So this year, i'm trying something a little different. Tomorrow, November 17th, 2016, I will be streaming. All proceeds from this stream, where I will be doing $10 sketches and $20 icons, will go toward the adoption of a little 11 week old orphaned orangutan named Popi.

Popi was rescued with she was roughly 1-2 months old. When orangutan babies are that young, they are in constant contact with their mothers, and orangutan mothers are so protective that they will allow them selves to be killed in the effort to protect their children. That is, undoubtedly, what happened with little Popi and her mama. Popi watched her mama die. I know that sounds sensationalist... but it's the truth.

Okay so i've been having an issue with my cat over the past few months, and its finally at the point where it's getting kind of ridiculous. During the day, I let him outside while I am at work, we live in farm country and he was a barn cat before I got him, so he likes to run around the house outside during the day. At night, to keep him safe from coyotes and possums and such, I bring him in. At night, he has a room i put him in, so I can sleep knowing he's not destroying the house. When he has free roam of the house he's fine, quiet, sweet, etc. But when he goes in his night room for the night he becomes a terror. Yowling, meowing, climbing the door, scratching the door, etc. Does anyone have any idea whats going on and how to help both of us have a little more peace? He is a 1 year old male, lived with me since he was 8 weeks old.
