1) RELIABLE DRIVERS THAT DON'T FUCK UP.

Posted 15 years agoSo the other day I asked my art teacher for a graduate-level critique on some of my art because I was sick of just hearing "Oh that's a good drawing." etc....basically all positive and no negative. So he started asking me content-based questions on artwork, primarily Flow II (which is what I asked for a critique on). He was telling me how he interpreted it and asked about my motives and told me about my style. Our discussion soon deviated from that specific piece and eventually he started looking through my entire watercolor sketchbook. Eventually, while we were still talking about content, he stopped on one of the wolf drawings, (one I haven't posted here) and began...
"...For example, is this a self-portrait?" (pointing to the wolf drawing)
Me: "I don't......What do you mean?"
Him: "Well, I keep seeing these wolves pop up all over the place in your artwork. Is this a self portrait?"
I said no, I just like wolves and thus like to draw them, because I think that it's a beautiful animal. I also however, mentioned that this is problematic, because I could also be classified as a furry, given the prevalence of wolves in my artwork. II started to explain that to him, and he nodded and said that he was familiar with the stereotype.
Because the stereotype is so shitty, I don't like to be classified a a furry, and it sortof pisses me off that what I'm into has such a bad reputation. Instead of admitting to people that I am somewhat of one, and defending the fandom, saying that "OH NOT ALL FURRIES ARE LIKE THAT..." I'd rather talk a bunch of shit on it, because for the most part, where ever I look, the stereotype is more or less true.

Posted 15 years agoOkay, so I have to a research paper for Composition. For the topic, I have to choose a controversial topic to explain in an informative paper. This will then evolve into a larger persuasive paper, and I need to choose something that has documentation, so something like "whether or not the stereotype of a furry fits." is out of the question.

Posted 16 years agoI will be opening up more commissions. I plan on making some money. Because of my perfectionist ways I'll be raising the price for full-body commissions to 10 bucks. I'll do character faces and shoulders for 5. However this will all be negotiable.
