Posted 15 years agoSo... aye, no one reads these things anyway, but maybe I can pose some entertainment if my scant few friendly watchers take a look.
Say you are in a robot, like a gundam or some other humanoid warbot, that has its own artificial intelligence. An extra head, if you will, for dealing with tactics, calculations, or perhaps even offering insights or plans that the pilot may not have considered themselves.
But, as with many conceptions of artificial intelligence, feelings, emotions, and independant ideas can risk comming into play to completely FUBAR everything.

Things can get worse if said mechanoid gets jealous of other human/humanoid teammates, or may even get pissed if their usual pilot decides to employ another mechanoid or vehicle.

Say you are in a robot, like a gundam or some other humanoid warbot, that has its own artificial intelligence. An extra head, if you will, for dealing with tactics, calculations, or perhaps even offering insights or plans that the pilot may not have considered themselves.
But, as with many conceptions of artificial intelligence, feelings, emotions, and independant ideas can risk comming into play to completely FUBAR everything.

But there is a certain appeal to the naked form (though I lean strongly towards the female form) depicted majestically or otherwise in a manner to accentuate beauty with an asthetic background.
Vulgarity in erotica and pornography just gets way too trite and cliche, and has hardly anything inspiring about it.

Posted 16 years agoSo, during June, had me some bout of light illness and aches, then end of June, going into July, got myself the flu. THEN bronchitis after that. So... er... I am using that as my excuse for lack of content and developing works. Flu did indeed suck.
I do hope I haven't lost my writing edge. I know I still have my creativity. Is a curious problem.
ANYWAY, thinking of posting some other writings of mine in scraps. I have, for a number of years, had problems completing much of anything. :/ So, enjoy mah writing scraps. :#

1. When did you start writing?
When I was in elementary school. Oh lol, I was BAD at it back then.
2. First drafts: Handwritten, typed, or some combination?
I type up most all of my stuff. Having to handwrite THEN type up everything would get tediously on my nerves. :#
3. Do you keep any kind of notebook or writer's journal, and if so, what kinds of things go into it?
I do a mix of handwritten notes, which are basically ideas and such in rough form that I can later write on or elaborate further on on more paper. I have txt and html files I write the more detailed character notes in.
4. Do you set any quotas for your work (number of words per day, number of hours per day, etc.)? Why or why not?
Would make my writing more of a chore to me, I'm afraid, if I did that. :#
5. Are you most comfortable writing short stories, novels, or something else?
Short stories, or the occasional long story. I fear my attention span may wander on anything novel length.
Then, of course, music inspired poetry. D:
6. What's your favorite kind of story to write?
Anything with high amounts of fantasy. Though I suppose my absolute favorite are modern or near-modern set heroic stories. Either humans or machines that have some extraordinary abilities fighting god aweful horrors intent on terrible wickedness. I'm always a sucker for that kinda thing.
7. Talk about a story of yours that was easy to write and one that was difficult to write, and why.
Much of my earlier works, because I just sat down and wrote reguardless of plot holes or what I percieve now to be lack of quality. And lack of depth in areas, regretably.
Hardest story to write... Not sure. I can't think of anything specific, though things that have good vs. evil action AND depth are a pain to mix together and have it come out well. For me, anyway. D:
8. Which of your characters is closest to your sense of self? In other words, who do you most identify with in your own work to date?
Much earlier, I use to identify myself with the sort of outside characters, usually the reformed villain types. Guilt complex in my earlier years, I suppose. I don't identify much with many characters I write now, as I don't try to put myself in my stories. :#
9. What work are you most proud of right now?
Lady Garoteal, which I did about a year or two ago, was a pretty good piece, though has yet to be published anywhere.
10. What do you feel your strengths and weaknesses are as a writer?
My creativity as a definate strength, and my attention span as a weakness. I get distracted by other ideas why too much. :/
11. Name a few writers who have influenced you or your work in some way.
H.P. Lovecraft has influenced much of my medival fantasy type writings. I love his style.
12. Talk about something you've written that you later found embarrassing for some reason.
Too many to talk about here. :#
I dabble in erotic fiction, but often get embarrassed about that, because I doubt the quality of it, and of any depth it may be lacking.
13. Talk about the earliest stories you remember writing. What were they about?
Oh lawd, my earliest? From my elementary school days, modern adolescent finding and having to struggle his way through strange hidden monster filled dungeons. :#

Ah, don't let too many read my stuff. Embarrassing when errors pop up, especially in plot or style, which I always go back and think "Why didn't I catch that?!" Relatives and my spouse, basically. Not much of my stuff goes public anyway. :# Too... fearful of critique, I guess. Not many care for what I write about. (college peers can be cruel D: )
18. When you're not writing, what do you do for fun?
Lurk on the net, ocassional games, listening to music, and watching youtube vids of Japanese shows. >> And the occassional sci-fi program on TV, though quality sci-fi seems harder to find these days. :#
19. Advice to other writers?
Always keep at it, never giv e up writing because of "not being good." Skill in anything takes time to cultivate. Never stop imagining.
20. What are you currently working on?
Trying to jumpstart a hero series called Brave Lumera, involving a surviving mechanized military unit trying to stop a world corrupting terror known as Xoacs from claiming yet another world.
21. Share the first three sentences of a work in progress.
The collossal machine drifted onward towards its new target as several smaller shapes flitted about its surface. "Commander! We're barely able to slow this thing!" said a shrill voice over a communication line. "Keep trying! I'll be damned if this thing gets away to ravage another civilization!"

Anyway, a dealing with some ortanic virus has moe or less upset my creative flow and energy. So, head blank of farking ideas. I'm still able to work on the comic with the awesome
mysterybbq though my own projects have fallen into dusty disuse.
When I was much younger, I was able to get more writing wise completed, but now... I'm not sure. Been such a long time since I've been able to maintain focus. Granted, the works I was able to complete in earlier years are lacking in the quality I think I can make things with now, my drive and attention span seem to have waned. :/ Hope its not a permanate writers block I've heard of over the nets. Scary stuff.
After I get over this organic viri issue, I hope to get back to writings and actually finish something. Oh so envious of those that can actually finish a story, or even complete a whole book. :#

Final Fantasy Mystic Quest, known to be an introduction to console RPGs to the western gaming market (Us other gamers were using pencils and paper for our RPGs, dagnabit), has had some of my time. An interesting and easy play with nice music. Though it does lack in story and, well, sense at times.
And now, thanks to some info from an interesting new aquaintence, going to be looking into Exile/Avernum. You get to make your own parties. :3 And, of course, leads me to start making up backstories for said created characters.
And.... dunno. Writing in a slump. Hope it passes, or I force myself back into the craft. Blerg.

Progress and Projects
Posted 16 years agoYeah. Have nothing much really to upload, though I'm slowly working on things.
Abandonded my previous attempt at writing some short fics set in a post apocalyptic fantasy world. Some later RPGing (looking at you, Treasure of the Rudras) played with my muse, so back to a conventional fantasy realm. Got a lot of background done, and character concepts, so just need to write it all da feck down.
Among others, I have "treasure hunter" gal and her monk friend, who grew up together in an orphanage and have conflicting feelings for one another, stumble upon evidence that the girl belonged to a plains tribe destroyed by demonic forces. The more they try to delve into this odd mystery, the more vicious monsters start popping up to try and permanately stop their investigations.
A reptillian war priestess sets about investigating some strange visions about something comming to wipe out her entire race. She comes across a curious rogue who at first is deemed an infedel for searching through an old temple for treasure and cowardly for his sneaky ways, but then develops a strange interest in him because of some demonstrations of heroics he makes later on.
AND, a half-demon sorceress on a personal crusade to hunt down and seal away infernal spirits, lest they cause more anguish for others like they have done to her. Her half-demon nature keeps many from getting close to her, as they are afraid of her mixed blood.
Among others, anyway. Hope to have some of these completed in some fashion.

Posted 16 years agoSo, gradually creeping along in my writings, though mostly in world building and brainstorming. :/ Hit a rather interesting turning point, though.
Had a friend read a current work in progress, and they noted a discrepency between character point of view and the form of writing I was using. I became rather fond of verbose and "scholarly" writing thanks to Lovecraft, as well as first person narratives. Though I did not want to all have scholars and educated men as my characters, I didn't take that into account with the writing style. IE, a farmer would have a different point of view and vocabulary from a soceror. :# Embarassing mistake I didn't catch, but I'll learn from it. Each new learning experiance makes me better, or so I think.
Nothing else too noteworthy happening. Still in a tug of war between writing clean fiction and more erotically inclined stories. :#

Ever the Struggle
Posted 16 years agoWhenever I ponder writing, most of the time I begin to debate writing something clean and non-sexual in theme, or going for attempting erotica. Since I'm trying to come up with this to submit for publishing, usually clean fantasy wins, but then I am no stranger to the siren song of porn. :|
Working on some fantasy writings involving a monster flooded "post apocalyptic" wasteland with the medieval fantasy touch. No crumbled skyscrappers, mutants, or firearms. Everything went to hell, almost literally, after an evil diety won when the heavens were at war.
And... that's about it. Happy to have met some interesting people to chat with here.

Crap Motivation is Crap+
Posted 16 years agoBleh, either inspiration hasn't hit, or I'm just damn lazy. D: Leaning towards the latter.
In other news, 7th Saga is unforgivingly, and soulcrushingly unfairly, difficult. Monsters towards the end are rape in a can. D: Play 7th Saga for the SNES if you want a good challenge and want the feeling that the game itself is out to get you.

Hot damn, does 7th Saga have one of THE FUCKING WORST endings ever. But it did have epically freaky and powerful monsters in it. Eh, guess that's why I love my RPGs.
Going to attempt some bits of writing. I do want to have more finished things I can try and send out to get published, but then I am also a very horny beast, and like writing pornographic things too. D: And then there's my attention span with reguards to actually doing any creative work. Hurg.
Working on some harpy creature ideas on the side as well. If I get anything substantially written on them, or any other critters, may post in scraps/submissions.

Well, I still intend to continue on my previous two projects in some form, and will hopefully have something noteworthy to post that is higher quality than just "scraps" material.

Been spending some of my free time on games. Hero's Arms, a flash RPG in the Legend of Zelda style, on Kongregate ( http://www.kongregate.com/games/Ber.....dio/heros-arms ) (good gameplay, story rather sucky. D: ), and then The 7th Saga for SNES. Virtually no story, and hard ass gameplay, but eh. Has a much different atmosphere and feel to it compared to many other RPGs. Monsters are also on the strange abomination/mutant side, so I'm fond of that as well.
Working on... Caught in a Serpent's Coil, slowly making progress. Naughty bits developing nicely, I think. Also working on a "Shrapnel Elf" concept, inspired muchly by Mystery BBQ's "Spike Lady" ( http://www.furaffinity.net/view/2170506 ) and the later sketches he made based on her.
Had a long dry spell in my writing groove, and I think it is finally fading.
