honestly i was still so pressed for time/rushing around everywhere i have no idea how the hell i usually work all con
there were some weird moments where i realized im not v close to most people in the fandom aside from my local fambly at this point (i keep instinctively calling then my roommates but i DONT LIVE WITH THEM dang) and gave myself a considerable amount of anxiety thinking about that bUT it was so amazing seeing everyone and suiting all weekend and meeting NEW PEEPS
thanks to everyone who stopped me and talked to me or complimented my suits and basically put up with me either getting into your face as a cat or knocking you around (both intentionally and accidentally) with my snoot as a COATI and man i did the suit parade for the first time this year (despite having mantis last year - last year i felt kinda frumpy and out of place despite being really happy to be suiting THIS YEAR I FELT V PUT TOGETHER AND CUTE) and the amount of times both in the parade and just walking around i heard people yell out "MANTIS" or maybemantis ????? ; u; just made me really really happy

tips on making SOCK PAWS?
Posted 11 years agoim gonna make some sock paws for mantis, (w/ slight guidance from rome, but they're SO swamped w their own work that i dont wanna hinder them!) does anyone know any good tutorials or have personal tips? ive already watched a couple of youtube videos and i have a pretty good idea but...help is always nice

we did a supernatural meetup last year but it was like decided 3 or 4 adys before the con that we were gonna do it and basically had no idea what to do and struggled to time it around the artist alley closing and since?? im not!! going to be at the artist alley this year it seemed like maybe a better situation to try and do this but
i just wanna see if people would actually want to do something like that again this year?
Ally and I both have copies of the SPN-inspired board game Salt and Burn that we'd be bringing and pretty much itd just be a HEY meet up with other SPN fans, play a cool game, chat, rant abt horrible plot holes (cry over gadreel idk), eat Pizza, Ill probably have some little charms or stickers to give away (ally?? brought stickers last year)
I just want to know before really putting more thought into this (im going to be doing my best to really go through the schedule and find a time that doesnt over lap with either the DD or AA OR anything dance related - will probably be friday or saturday in the evening) if people are interested in doing this again this year?
idk if we do it im definitely bringing and wearing my Sam(antha) cosplay bc i have been ITCHIN TO COSPLAY again and i would definitely encourage anyone else with a cosplay to wear it as well uwu <3

shockingly tiny con, i mean, i knew it was gonna be tiny, since it was a second year baby con, but it was pretty nice! I have a few critiques as a dealer that I'll be..sending in.. and all that, but over all. good. made more than i expected to make, my charms were received well (ill probaby post the rest of them up for sale on fa tomorrowww), drew some cool characters, met some cool people, you know. the norm.
it was a pretty relaxing con, got to suit a fair amount in Mantis and Quake (and walked around in a panda shepherd fullsuit for a little while saturday night).
so!! yeah!!! back from con and back to my fulltime work schedule ha....haha...
next con for me is ANTHROCON which i will not be working at. chibbums and I are making it a VACATIONCON and are going to run around suiting and having fun and not working awww yeeaaah but we still want to make a little AC related $$$ so keep an eye out in the next few months for preorder information and fun stuff like collab commissions from chib and i ;)

Posted 11 years agoSo i honestly dont know how much ive talked about it here on FA. but in dec i got a job at Starbucks and even though my shift over the holidays was light, im now getting close to fulltime hours every week and typically i close, so for my store thats 4:15-12:30am
im trying to balance SBUXXS + Aywas Contract work + Regular Commission work but its pretty difficult while im still getting reused to working long hours and actually fINDING an acceptable balance
so until i knock out my current queue and work out a better method of managing my time, my normal commissions are /closed/.
in a month is FURTHEMORE YEAH in case you werent already aware I am not going to be attending FWA, and will instead be at furthemore. i have no idea what to expect in terms of size for furthemore attendance (other than small) but rome. and i will both be selling there sO if you're attending furthemore and want to preorder a badge or anything, hit me up? otherwise ill be taking commissions, selling keychains/jewelry, and maybe prints idk at furthemore
