Posted 13 years agoSo its finally happened. unemployed since February, and no ones been hiring since, now I'm finally out of money. this months rent is paid, but unless something happens, i'm out on my ass in November. yay me.

No, no major damage I can tell. Apparently car in front was cut-off during rush hour. Sadly The Fairy box(my van) is total’d and i’ve been unemployed (without UI, EI) since February, so I can’t afford another car.
Bonus is, the guy who’s back I slammed into was looking for people for construction, so I handed him my resume before we all went home.
I’m going to go make pasta now.
p.s. I want a milk shake.

Posted 13 years agoSo I got curious about the States tax system, as in where tax money goes into, after a friend telling me about how he has to pay over $4000 this year, and...I couldn't figure out why. my limited grasp of the system still leads me to be confused as to where all that money goes. The federal responsibilities are almost non-existant as they have passed most of the work they should be(in my opinion, sorry) off on private companies.
They don't maintain prisons, they don't maintain infrastructure, they don't maintain healthcare, they don't do a hell of a lot really, other than military and some social assistance(which is constantly under threat of being cut).
so I guess this is a bit snarky, but my opinion is coloured by the fact that they seem to be passing work off on companies instead of doing it themselves, that being said..wheres all that money going?
please respond as you wish, snarky or factual. I'd prefer facts but up to you.

I've heardthis a while ago. its one of the most moving speeches out there I've ever heard, and I've heard a few in my youth when I was more proactive about my hatred for a broken system. These days i'm just bitter and somewhat broken, sitting around while others better than me fight to keep us honest and in a better life, but we're losing.

I'm getting the urge to suit up at cons, but on my own terms. As such I'm hunting for names of suit makers that DON'T do cute things, as I'm looking to get a partial made of a skaven that i can wear and slink around in at a con and be a horribly, ugly bastard rat thing. Any names would help me, and I'm aware of beetleccat, but seriously..she's always busy..

Otherwise some poor dude named Mohr was mistaken for me. cuz he had a hawk..my hawk is bright fucking orange, not dark. and I don't dress brightly, I dress in black shirts with band names and camo or drab pants.

- 15 of us shuffling out of the elevator backwards.
-while in the back of a convertable, singing the Trololo song at high volume with the song blaring over the speakers.
-rescuing raganzi from a situation that wasn't needed. we were pissed it didn't require us being violent. fucking ragz. >:|

progressive decline of roleplay, the steps

"That's cute, OP. Really cute. This sort of thing goes in phases. I've seen it happen in other online roleplay environments. This is usually how it goes:
THE AGE OF INNOCENCE: Roleplayers 12-50 play characters in a chatroom. From Ewoks to elves to Inu-Yasha himself. Sex stuff is publicly considered infantile and silly, privately done as cyber. Guys play female characters who have transvestite or transexual leanings. "I just do it because it's fun" excuse.
THE AGE OF EXPLORATION: People start playing more suggestive characters. Female characters use more alluring stolen profile pictures. Cyber accepted as common in private and once in awhile done in public.
THE AGE OF RAUNCH: At this point most players are openly shaboinking to the enjoyment of idlers in public rooms. The guys-playing-girls rationalize it as "even though my character is female, it's not gay if I engage in cyber with male characters. I'm just helping to write erotica with another man." excuse.
THE AGE OF THE THESPIAN: Lesbian characters show up. More female characters, to hang out with the bi-sexual guy-playing-girl character. No, male, you aren't allowed to RP with them! They have bad experiences with men! Be sensitive. An awful lot of lesbians.
THE AGE OF HERMES: At this point, through indoctrinating use of anime culture and porn, hermaphrodite characters encourage the "best of both worlds." Chat roleplay is full to the neck with Top Dominant Hermaphrodites. Like some sort of predatory mimic. Lots of submissive lesbians get fucked by anti-male hermaphrodites. Finally, the tops can roleplay something with a natural penis! "NO MEN ALLOWED!" becomes epidemic level.
Chat roleplay area destroyed."
