Wow, that was a long haitus.
Posted 4 years agoHi, I'm back... kind of. Honestly, I've never really left, but anxiety has ordered me not to post any art for a long time.
Did a little bit of a catch up.
Never stopped drawing, just stopped posting.
Hopefully this'll stick!

Kitty in Need
Posted 8 years agoI don't normally post journals, let alone personal ones, but I have a cat in need and we're struggling to pay the vet bill to make her healthy and happy again. If you can help, please, consider donating. It would help the old lady out a lot. We don't want to say goodbye yet.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
Also it's my birthday. Just saying.

Cat Emergency- Commissions still open
Posted 12 years agoSo the need for commissions is even higher now.
A couple of days ago, I woke up and took a look at my cat, only to find that she had a lump on her face. After a panic attack, and much begging of my awesome roommates, she was taken to the vet and was looked after. She had an abscess on her cheek that had to be drained and stitched. My poor baby.
Unfortunately that means that I have a 350 dollar vet bill to pay back right around christmas. I am doing what I can to pay it back via work and what not, but honestly, any help I can get would be AMAZING. Commissions are still open, is the point of this whole journal!
Because of working full time I can only take so many at a time so I don't die with stress.
I have 3 slots open at a time

tauvuranu is having a lot of trouble right now, and is need of help to pay medical bills. She desperately needs all the help she can get, so here I am asking you wonderful people that watch me to help out in any way you can. Even if it's just reposting this journal, or a buck or two to donate. Anything at all is appreciated! Please, go to the link provided!

Art Break/Commission update
Posted 12 years agoSo, some of you might have noticed that I haven't posted anything in a few weeks. Here's why;
I recently started a new job, full time employment, and it leaves me with very little time to do any art... especially while I was going through training. That's all done now, so things should be starting to get back to normal, though I still will not be able to devote myself 100% to artwork, and commissions. I'll be seeing what I can do on my weekends and time off.
Because of this, my commission prices will likely be rising, as my time is now extremely limited, and I will ask all commissioners before had to have as much patience as possible. I will post a pricing guide when I have time to do so.
At this time, I will only keep 2 slots open at a time, and 2 as a waiting list.

Arrrgg- Sai Issue
Posted 13 years agoI am having the STRANGEST Issue with Sai on my home computer.
Here's the deal. My old tablet died, so I got a new one. I got it while I was in Alaska, and hooked it up to my laptop, which I had been using with my old tablet as well. No issues, sai worked like a dream. But when I got home, and tried to the same thing [after properly setting up the tablet, of course] Sai decided to absolutely refuse to recognize pen pressure from the tablet. I have tried everything I can think of. Including: Reinstalling both Sai, and the tablet drivers/software after completely wiping them both out of my system, the whole 'remove my settings' trick that usually works with the tablet settings. I've even tried using a different tablet all together, borrowed from a friend. Photoshop registers tablet pressure just fine, and I have had to resort to working on that for a while, and bog my system down.
I am at a loss for how to fix it. If anyone has any suggestions or help, please, for the love of god, HELP ME D:
Both tablets register just perfectly on my laptop.

Posted 13 years agoMoving at the end of the week... ish. Supposed to be on the 15th, assuming I have the entire house packed into tiny little boxes. It's getting there, of course, but it's a long road.
malkil is coming to visit too. I'll have mah boy for 3 whole weeks.... while I'm moving. Guess who gets to help! And to help unpack! Or get the eff out of my way while I unpack and decorate!?!
It's... going to be an eventful week or three. There may or may not be arts, depending on how I am feeling creatively wise.
Bai for now.

I'm not into the whole 'sharing my life on the internets' thing. Generally, I've learned that bawing on a public forum is actually detrimental to most situations.
That being said, I shall bid you adieu.

We Are More
Posted 14 years agoWhen defining Canada
you might list some statistics
you might mention our tallest building
or biggest lake
you might shake a tree in the fall
and call a red leaf Canada
you might rattle off some celebrities
might mention Buffy Sainte-Marie
might even mention the fact that we've got a few
Barenaked Ladies
or that we made these crazy things
like zippers
electric cars
and washing machines
when defining Canada
it seems the world's anthem has been
" been there done that" and maybe that's where we used to be at
it's true
we've done and we've been
we've seen
all the great themes get swallowed up by the machine
and turned into theme parks
but when defining Canada
don't forget to mention that we have set sparks
we are not just fishing stories
about the one that got away
we do more than sit around and say "eh?"
and yes
we are the home of the Rocket and the Great One
who inspired little number nines
and little number ninety-nines
but we're more than just hockey and fishing lines
off of the rocky coast of the Maritimes
and some say what defines us
is something as simple as please and thank you
and as for you're welcome
well we say that too
but we are more
than genteel or civilized
we are an idea in the process
of being realized
we are young
we are cultures strung together
then woven into a tapestry
and the design
is what makes us more
than the sum total of our history
we are an experiment going right for a change
with influences that range from a to zed
and yes we say zed instead of zee
we are the colours of Chinatown and the coffee of Little Italy
we dream so big that there are those
who would call our ambition an industry
because we are more than sticky maple syrup and clean snow
we do more than grow wheat and brew beer
we are vineyards of good year after good year
we reforest what we clear
because we believe in generations beyond our own
knowing now that so many of us
have grown past what used to be
we can stand here today
filled with all the hope people have
when they say things like "someday"
someday we'll be great
someday we'll be this
or that
someday we'll be at a point
when someday was yesterday
and all of our aspirations will pay the way
for those who on that day
look towards tomorrow
and still they say someday
we will reach the goals we set
and we will get interest on our inspiration
because we are more than a nation of whale watchers and lumberjacks
more than backpacks and hiking trails
we are hammers and nails building bridges
towards those who are willing to walk across
we are the lost-and-found for all those who might find themselves at a loss
we are not the see-through gloss or glamour
of those who clamour for the failings of others
we are fathers brothers sisters and mothers
uncles and nephews aunts and nieces
we are cousins
we are found missing puzzle pieces
we are families with room at the table for newcomers
we are more than summers and winters
more than on and off seasons
we are the reasons people have for wanting to stay
because we are more than what we say or do
we live to get past what we go through
and learn who we are
we are students
students who study the studiousness of studying
so we know what as well as why
we don't have all the answers
but we try
and the effort is what makes us more
we don't all know what it is in life we're looking for
so keep exploring
go far and wide
or go inside but go deep
go deep
as if James Cameron was filming a sequel to The Abyss
and suddenly there was this location scout
trying to figure some way out
to get inside you
because you've been through hell and high water
and you went deep
keep exploring
because we are more
than a laundry list of things to do and places to see
we are more than hills to ski
or countryside ponds to skate
we are the abandoned hesitation of all those who can't wait
we are first-rate greasy-spoon diners and healthy-living cafes
a country that is all the ways you choose to live
a land that can give you variety
because we are choices
we are millions upon millions of voices shouting
" keep exploring... we are more"
we are the surprise the world has in store for you
it's true
Canada is the "what" in "what's new?"
so don't say "been there done that"
unless you've sat on the sidewalk
while chalk artists draw still lifes
on the concrete of a kid in the street
beatboxing to Neil Young for fun
don't say you've been there done that
unless you've been here doing it
let this country be your first-aid kit
for all the times you get sick of the same old same old
let us be the story told to your friends
and when that story ends
leave chapters for the next time you'll come back
next time pack for all the things
you didn't pack for the first time
but don't let your luggage define your travels
each life unravels differently
and experiences are what make up
the colours of our tapestry
we are the true north
strong and free

Another Year Come and Gone
Posted 14 years agoYup... the big 3-0 today. Dirty Thirty. I've had a good one thus far, thanks to great friends and family there to help me along the way. Here's to the 30's being better than the 20's!
Opening commissions for help with Vet bills.
Posted 15 years agoMy kitty was very sick. I had to take her to the vet today and get her looked at. Turns out she has an abscess on her hip that was about the size of a golf ball. I'm very lucky that I have really good friends that helped me and I was able to bring her in and get her taken care of. Her medical bill is pretty steep for me.
I am not asking for donations, but I am reopening commission slots so that I can pay for the life of my beloved cat, and still feed myself and have a home. So please, if you're wanting a commission, now is the time.

Updates
Posted 15 years agoI feel like I haven't drawn in a year... really it's only been a few weeks. I got a new computer for my birthday, so I've been enjoying it a lot between trying to find a new job and trying to figure out what to do for commissions. I haven't died, I'm just uninspired. For those of you that I still owe, pester me a little. You've been tremendously patient, and I appreciate it very much, but please, feel free to send me a note wondering what's going on.

Black and White Lineart or Inks
Simple inks with no background of one or a pair of characters range from $10.00 and upwards, depending on complexity and number of characters. [Traditional inks: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v.....ing/armors.jpg ] [Digital inks: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v.....ittycopy-1.jpg ]
Prismacolor Pencil
Prices for these range from $35.00 and up depending on the difficulty, the background, and number of characters. This is the most difficult and time consuming medium. If you'd like one of these, expect a decent wait. [http://glitterwing.deviantart.com/a.....red-129904319]
Photoshop:
Prices for these range from $25.00 and up depending on the difficulty, the background, and number of characters. This is my favorite medium.

Furcadia Portrait:
Prices for these are either $10.00 flat, or a portrait space on Furcadia, whichever works better. I would prefer cash, but I am willing to compromise.

Just so everyone knows, I draw the line at nudity. I do not enjoy drawing pornography for myself, so I tend not to do it for other people. Most other requests are welcome.
