How long should I wait to post Silksong fanart?
Posted a month agoHealth and healing has been... rough. I've had more complications since leaving the hospital but i'm starting to crest the hill toward a hopefully healthier recovery. I see the surgeon tomorrow as my 2-weeks check in from the surgery to hopefully remove the glue holding my stitches together that my body decided to develop a intense allergic reaction to 4 days ago. :')
So I've been watching

[Full surgery title being a 'Robotic assisted laparoscopic hysterectomy with bilateral salpingectomy cystoscopy with excision of endometriosis']
on the 5th went ok!
I had to be kept in the hospital a few nights to make sure I was okay after some post-surgery irregular bleeding and clots but I'm doing okay now.
My pains still pretty high & I'm still in rough shape but I'm gonna be okay with some time.
I've wanted this surgery for 2 years now, so I'm just happy its over.
I should be capable of losing weight now & not having a unhealthy amount of estrogen in my body causing my blood vessels to be unable to close/pump blood too.
A lot of my health should start sorting itself out over the next few months.
Free am I from having 2-3 shark weeks a month!!
Now its just getting used to the hormone changes and recovering from the absolute slew of stitches in my body
And its a lot of them, 7+ different stitches spots!
I could talk about all the gross curiosities of the healing process so far
but there's not a spoilers option that i know of on here XD;

Its crazy to know its been on my radar for 2 years but i've been playing it for 8months already
[ I've beaten Gourmand [& his secret quest], Monk, & Artificer so far ]
Gourmand is my favorite Slugcat character / Spearmaster is my favorite to play
TMS's final appointment is today, hard to believe its already been 7 weeks. Its like I blinked and poof over a months gone by!
'What is TMS Therapy?'
Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is a procedure that uses magnetic fields to stimulate nerve cells in the brain to improve symptoms of Medication-resistant major depression
Essentially they stick a electromagnet to your head and gently give your brain repetitive little zaps for a few minutes every weekday for 7 weeks to force the brain to 'wake up' and essentially jumpstart the brain to start functioning like a non-depressed brain.
The only downside to the process is that you might get headaches/migraines/eye aches for the duration of the process
and possibly a soreness to the spot where they put the magnet [it will be in the exact same spot for the entire time]
[well ok, that and how expensive it is, even with insurance another peeps got a co-pay of $30 each session]
But aside from that there's no known long-term effects, its just putting up with possible headaches for a few weeks for a potential lifetime of improvement.
Interesting Facts about TMS [At least with my provider]:
- There's two 'modes' one that does a bzzt [wait 2 seconds] bzzzt that's Quicker OR the slower process that I went with that's a tap tap tap tap
- If you are right handed they will place the magnet on your left side n vice versa [I was a exception as I needed it done on my right side to save my left eyeball that really really hated the process]
- You must call out if you get less than 4 hours of sleep / Have something that really excited or depressed you in the day before; Like going to a party/drinking or having a major breakdown. [They will reschedule you for the end of the treatment / Add a couple extra days so no worries if you cancel.] My provider said that it makes TMS less effective as your brains not at its default state
- I was able to wear wireless earbuds during the process which make the ticking noise for 18 minutes pretty easy to handle <:)
'Ok but did it help?'
Absolutely! It may take up to a year to start feeling the full effects but I've already gotten some curious signs that I'm improving.
I am actually enjoying the sun for the first time in 12 years, I no longer feel like I need to hide away from light? 'What kind of improvement is that? Lol' I hear you wondering. And I don't have any definitive answer, I just noticed that it was the most noticeable/weird one as I've only ever wanted dark/blackout blinds & *hated* my overhead light being on. But I sat outside for a few minutes yesterday just enjoying sunning myself like a basking lizard. Its such a immense change in my life despite being 'silly'
I'm also more chatty again, there was a couple months where I joined voice calls and hardly spoke more than a few sentences over multiple hours. Just listening to others and watching them stream in silence, talking just felt like too much work.
There's a lot of other changes but I can't be for sure if its the TMS or just having a incredible support network of friends and acquaintances that have been unendingly patient with me and aren't afraid to talk about tough topics with me / vent alongside me about the horrors of the world.
I'll surely have more breakdowns and struggles over my fight with depression, but it feels like there's a light in the dark now.
Next step is scheduling my Total Hysterectomy, I see my OGYBN in 2 weeks to start that process of figuring it out
& seeing if I can get a xray of my knee to make sure the patella isn't trying to float away from the blunt trauma of having to 'fall' out of one of the big vans that the taxi-service had that's activated its hatred for existing and nearly given out on me again for the first time since my surgery 2 years ago

I will from here on out attempt to remember to tag my art's main things properly <x0
I will not be tagging things like E621 though because I am a artist not a fancy tag writer lmao
[its the whole reason i haven't uploaded more of my shiz there, if others wanted to do so for me feel free, just don't upload any of my trans/Gender nonconforming stuff since i hate the tag-gender-as-you-see-it system, Flat chested women are still women >:/ ]
that said;
I do not promise to go back and tag everything in my gallery, because there's over 2000 submissions.
but future ones will get basic tag warnings.
Lifes been crazy and messy but I got a new tablet [ Huion Inspiroy L ] so expect art this Jan/Feb to look a little... ehhh... rough?
while i get used to the change after being a wacom loyalist for 14 years.
The quality was just dropping and I was breaking tablets much faster than usual so its time to swap to a cheaper [more easily replaceable] kind.
If this one doesn't work out i'm going to try a XPpen but we'll see!
I've killed i think 6? 7? Wacom Intous M's in 14 years of posting art? But i've used the same tablet pen for the last 4 because the new pen nibs absolutely MELT in my presence, we're talking I was killing a nib every month.
'How do you manage that??' I've posted nearly 6600 pieces to FA [over multiple accounts] alone in that time
and I've drawn tons more that doesn't get posted on top of that. [A lot of it is no-context scribbles in response to Discord discussions n such]
Now that Grams home again I can also say the reason I essentially disappeared for a couple months at the end of last year was because my grandma who I live with had to have open heart surgery from a 90% blockage over in Michigan. But she's doing much better, I'm having to help her out but she's improving a little every day. I have dealt with stalkers and threats on my life in the past when alone so the safer option was just peace-ing out into the void while I dealt with the emotional turmoil and solitary experience. Happy to have her back now. <3

[sorry to those waiting on stuff, i haven't forgotten, and if you are worried i have just send me a message on discord/telegram...]
because my health has been nosediving to hell and back. I'm currently only getting ~6 days between periods right now and I have Endometriosis, PMDD, PCOS & Pelvic congestion syndrome. Like all the worst shits right there in one localized spot.
Its made me bloated and irritable and just downright miserable. I've been laying in bed bored out of my mind more than I've been at my desk this month.
I've had to pull back from talking most places because the PMDD just makes me unnaturally aggressive and I don't want to say anything I don't mean when my hormones are trying to start fights for the kicks. Already fucked up too many friendships from that shit...
I have decided that I will be scheduling a Total Hysterectomy soon as I know I'll have a person around to take care of me as the Birth control pills that i've developed immunity to was the last option I had before Surgery was the choice to look at.
And while I was looking at Endometrial ablation I think it would just be easier to kick that whole shit to the curb once and for all, I'm already neutered anyways. lmao.
Also the disability struggle continues with great agony, almost to the 2 years waitin' for it point now just a couple more months.
The assessments went ass lmao. The mental assessment went okay i guess but I flubbed so much and it was so embarrassing.
The physical assessment was just a hour of being gaslit by a 70-80y/o man, might risk my whole ass chance of not having to take this to disability court or w/e with how nasty he was.
Said that because I wasn't on Opioids I 'wasn't taking care of myself and wasn't deserving of disability' despite being very obvious that they made me heal off TYLENOL for a Knee reconstruction where they had to surgically break a bone.
As if they'd EVER give it to me because 'oof i can't describe what my pain is like but its bad'???? Just makes me upset and mad.
Opioids made me dumb as a fuckin brick wall, they are the reason Weremeep exists with all her droolyness. And my aunt has mad harm done to her body from taking them long-term and she's like 30 years older than me.
There's more happenin' around here but not stuff I feel safe admittin' willy nilly at this time. I'm just... tryin to stay afloat.
Needing a lot of comfort from my art, just isn't vent art. I'm copin with the struggle of it all by drowning myself in my characters, their lore and backstories and just... tryin to make the best of a bad hand.
Its not that I'm purposefully avoiding anyone or anything I'm just a downright mess.
I will be ok.
I will get through this.
I'm just tired of life constantly slappin me when it feels like i'm gettin somewhere haha.
And no i don't wanna talk more about whats happening atm. Thank you for all the kind offers but I'm gonna be ok. I've gotten through much worse than this.

I think Arcane, Helluva/Hazbin & the fallout show are the only things I can think of getting super crazy hyped about as it was releasing????
but mannnn as someone who hates metroidvanias because my short term memory is just so ass that I can't remember shit, of course i'd start stimming on one of the most RNG bullshit ones LMAO
but the scugs & Lizards are cute so heehoo <8)
I have been Chuggin youtube videos, multi animator projects and anything I can get my grubby lil pawsies on.
Been drawing stupid shitty doodles of me n friends adventures but i'm not gonna post them until i can make a canvas worth of them cuz they will just flood my gallery with shitposts otherwise XD

I was away visiting soren49 for a couple weeks and I had a lot of fun but i'm sure happy to be back home, expect art posts soon after I get a little bit of rest \o/

Its given me a brand new craving for Cheetah Kiras [Washington state zoos don't have cheetahs!]
It was so good to see my best friend n her husband & meet her cat Butters. A small orange goblin who loved to murder my poor feet lmao but otherwise, a absolute baby. I've never lived for more than a couple days with a cat before and it was very fun.
I hope one day that I too shall have a cat of my own to cuddle my anxiety away.
After I sleep off the exhaustion i'm super eager to get back to art with a newfound vigor.

Posted a year agoAfter hovering at ~5400 for 2 years I've finally hit one of my favorite numbers! WOO
I hope everyone's been well!!
I got accepted as a client from a very nice lawyer who is prepared to help me fight to get on disability as soon as I get my next denial, my assumption is that it won't be til 2025 at the earliest [I applied a year+ ago] but I'm happy to know that even a lawyer thinks that I have a case to get help. Its been very rough to deal with but I can see a end of the tunnel finally thank god.
Soon I go to see soren49 [ and kalkaph n overdrive003 ] in Ohio for a bit which will be a good little break.
I also got to meet my 15 year long friendship for the first time in person over at Anime Impulse last weekend with gluepaw
Its crazy to know that i've been friends with Casey Mongillo since they were doing free VA work for youtube animations and now they are so successful.
I'm forever proud of seeing my friends really make it out there!
I've been saving for months to enjoy myself and I got a handful of Senshi and Chilchuck items [from Delicious in Dungeon]
And they had both English and Japanese voice actors for Laois & Chilchuck [English chilchuck is my friend!!!! so proud!!!! they got to canonically call laois cringe!! heeh!!!!]
And its always great spending more time with my beloved Salem, They make me so happy and i'm glad I was able to give them a fun weekend too!!!
Things seem to be looking up for me finally. It was a real rough winter haha.

gluepaw Its crazy to know that i've been friends with Casey Mongillo since they were doing free VA work for youtube animations and now they are so successful.
I'm forever proud of seeing my friends really make it out there!
I've been saving for months to enjoy myself and I got a handful of Senshi and Chilchuck items [from Delicious in Dungeon]
And they had both English and Japanese voice actors for Laois & Chilchuck [English chilchuck is my friend!!!! so proud!!!! they got to canonically call laois cringe!! heeh!!!!]
And its always great spending more time with my beloved Salem, They make me so happy and i'm glad I was able to give them a fun weekend too!!!
Things seem to be looking up for me finally. It was a real rough winter haha.

Posted 2 years agoI got started on a CPAP machine a few days ago and its been a weird experience trying to get used to it and its extremely weird method of figuring out what days I'm sleeping...
it seems to put everything up to 10am in the previous days timeslot despite never sleeping before midnight [much like Pokémon sleep] A real pain honestly
I've been doin a lot of thinkin with my current art fixation [I know the burnouts on the way any moment now as is the nature of mental illness] and I think I've come to terms that I make my closed species not for other people, but for myself.
I don't really care that there's tons of 'wisp viper lookalikes' out there, I'm just happy the fandom loves snakes, because they are great.
I think its a healthy realization that I don't need to give anyone my species to keep enjoying them.
For those unawares I had a popular species because of my Meep fursuit in '13 that people started harassing, blackmailing, and threatening me to make them a species to allow fursuits of to turn into the next dutch angel dragon craze.
But i've never wanted my species to be popular like that, they are my babies and they matter deeply to me first and foremost.
My closed species were never about 'how much money can I make' and have always been 'how do they fit in my stories'
That said I am trying to put more wisp viper lore to paper to set them apart, even if the trait list sheet still gives me choice paralysis, with Sir Pippington I plan to start exploring less formal methods of trait discovery n such!
2024 is going to be a year focusing on my personal OC' planet, Vsetin. Its been the canon home to my species and characters since 2010 I think? I'm overdue to work on it, as figuring out the planet itself will aid in learning more about the species that live in it.
I'd like to bring Meep n Beep back onto the scene but am going through heavy rewriting to figure out what their stories are now as the og story was uh... bad.
I'd love to hear about how things are going for y'all too?

Posted 2 years agolooking for readable fonts that aren't all caps (tho you can show them to me too) for comic stuff, writing is actually the hardest part about drawing comics for me
(i think its the really funky way i hold pencils with my slightly fucked up hand anatomy/crooked fingers.)

but yeah expect a lot of character refs, i'm trying to get images for a height chart
and that's a surprising amount of work when a large number of my main charas/sonas don't actually have updated refs.
Hell I still use Kira's ref from like 2018 or earlier haha!!
I'm having a absolute ADHD party with the need to bring all my lovely brain bablets front and center.
That said a lot of IRL Stuff is happening so I may be sporadic at best until mid September (as if I have any sort of upload schedule haha)
but

I'd esp drop you a full piece if you have any g1 or g2 imperials ;w; / [I know its near impossible long shot as they were a kickstarter-only breed change ;_; ]
I'd also be interested in low digit dragons (4-6 digits) or G1s (no parents/not progs)
but i'm also interested in familiars/apparel from 2013-2021 (big maybe on skins)
obviously the level of art will depend on the offered items but i'd be down for real fast dum doodles for the cheaper things
[I'd need at least a month to get art to you as i'm doing them in between comms, adderall is still in a national shortage so I'm struggling to focus on much of anything]

Posted 2 years agoI’m gonna get hit by the rule change because I like riolu designs way more than lucario (it’s the headnuts n weird pants) and despite being extremely adamant that I will only ever draw 18+ characters i acknowledge that my style is toony and I like to attempt to stay to model proportions.
Fa has been my main artist gallery for 14 years now but times are changing I guess

Posted 2 years agobeen trying to stop people from getting scammed by a art thief here on fa (callouts aren’t allowed so friends and I have just been eagle-noting anyone who ‘bids’, but this persons already stolen at least 150$!!!)
and there’s NO BUYER PROTECTIONS if you send family and friends!
You can’t just, get a refund thru it.
You can’t easily dispute because it’s only supposed to be for family and friends!
Sending it not-thru Fam n friends gives you a 6 month buyers protection.
If any artist is asking you to avoid fees/taxes with it it can get your accounts flagged/banned if they get too many!
Please protect yourself!
Artists should include the fees in their commission/adopts and go thru the proper way.
If artists ever ask I try to be polite and just tip the fee that should have been added in the first place. Try not to ever be mean, but please be safe out here!
When PayPal bans a account they often IP ban / block you from *ever* using it again. I’ve met like 6 customers who got fucked over by PayPal and can now never use it again.
Please please please stay safe!!
