So far the kittens are nearly done their coccidia treatments. Their poops have returned to normal, we will run tests to make sure everything is ok. They have a bit less than 2 months to go on their oral liquid anti-fungal medication as well as the medical anti-fungal baths. All the kittens are showing signs of improvement. Flynn, (the orange kitten in the picture) has less red skin and his fur is starting to grow back. I will post more pictures and updates soon, their next bath is on Sunday so I will have help to take pictures (taking pictures is tedious alone when you need to disinfect everything).
After their treatments we will have cultures taken to see if all is good. Hopefully they can be in their new families before Christmas!

Hello everyone :)

I am a foster familly for a cat rescue here in the south shore of Montreal. They are not very well known yet, so I am asking if you mind liking their facebook page and following them on twitter? We are trying to network, especially with local people. If you cannot adopt or foster, simply liking our pages will help. Who knows, maybe someone you know is looking for a kitten? Rescue kittens are great pets :) Otherwise we are hoping this will get us more foster families so we can save more cats, AND of course more families to adopt the cats in question!

Cloud 9 helps larger shelters by taking in the cats that they can and save them from being euthanized. We only function with foster famillies. The nore foster famillies, the more cats we can save.

On adopting:
They are willing to travel up to 2 hours for an appointment so you can meet the kittens and choose your new friend. All cats are fixed, microchipped, de-wormed and have their first vaccines. Good package deal all for 120$ CDN. Cloud 9 makes no profit off of this.

On fostering:
Cloud 9 needs more foster famillies in order to save more cats. You provide the cats basic care: food, litter, love , shelter . Cloud 9 pays all the vet bills. We do a lot of adoption days and social networking so our foster famillies have not been "stuck" with a cat yet. If this should become an issue, a cat can be transfered into another foster familly if you cannot foster anymore. People do not come into your home to visit the cats unless you want to: Cloud 9 will take appointments and bring the kittens to the homes of potential adopters.

The most enthusiasm from voters in this section was for Hyenas, Red Pandas, and Clouded Leopards. In fact, I actually forgot to put the clouded leopard in my initial list! I've been meaning to paint one of those for awhile too! I will consider all of these animals for future paintings :) --they sound fantastic to try.

At the time, the Eurasian Lynx was ahead of the Snow Leopard so I started with that one. The sketch is nearly complete and I will transfer it for watercolour today! It ended up at a 5"X7" size in the end, sometimes you get real enthusiastic about a painting and this one got a bit too detailed to be smaller. I am hoping to paint a series at least with the 3 top animals, with inspired baroque ornament designs and motifs.

I just want to specify that this is a little in-between-commissions project for me. Sometimes, when I work all week at the office and then work on commissions on nights and weekends with no creative time for myself I get a little artistically blocked up. It's not a surprise! So for better commission results, I need to take a bit of time to paint for myself. To recharge those artsy batteries so to speak.

While I'm on topic, I will say that because of this, I will not be taking large batches of commissions anymore. Perhaps 1 commission at a time, once and awhile. I started a new job at the head office of my company, work full time, and as a result I have little time for myself. The time I do have for myself I would like to put on creating personal paintings to share, and do some world building of Pyralis's world. I hope people can understand this --I absolutely love creating custom art for others, but for now I just need a bit of a break (once my last 3 are complete!)

I am a bit rusty with traditional art since my last commissioned work has been primarily digital art contracts. The following are a list of animals I've been really wanting to paint for awhile. Which ones would you like to see best, and which ones would you actually purchase a print or an original of? ( Art is a part of my income, so I have to ask :P )

(My current intentions are to make them small, either ATC sized or about 3"x4" . I would also sell them! :)

Not completely leaving because business reasons. But I do feel like this is not your typical "FA crashed again: argh, I'm fed up--leaving!" type exodus. The situation hits home for a lot of users (I will not specify, because this can get you banned, apparently) . The underlying reasons (whether or not it is true) nasty comments and attitudes that have arisen from this situation are making me pretty uncomfortable. I won't say more than this.

Means: Of Fire, The Sun, Fierce/Fearsome

What made you choose the species of your main fursona?
She is a North American Cave Lion --I chose a prehistoric lion because I love prehistoric animals, especially mammals. The size of the cave lion was very impressive to me. Since I like felines so much I chose the mother of all felines, biggest kitty in history (known to date). I thought it was a good representation of my love for cats.

Is your fursona just like you, or how you want to be?
She is very similar to me, and has some character traits (confidence, strength) that I wish I had.

Does your fursona have the same personality you have?
She has a lot of my personality, but as I said in the last answer she has some traits I wish I had. I guess I get to fantasize about being a bad-ass (warrior) through her, XD I picture her far more regal and eloquent than me.

Does your fursona have the same dislikes and likes as you do?
She does.

Does your fursona look like you at all?
I tried to choose colors that reflect what I look like as much as possible, yes (blonde hair, blue-green-gray eyes)

Is your fursona the same gender as you, if not why?
Yes, she is!

Do you have more then one main fursona?
I have other characters, but they don't reflect me as much as Pyra. I really like to draw Chione (snow leopard) when I can. She is almost the opposite of Pyra (ice, cold, kinda evil)

Do you have a back story for your fursona, if so does it have anything to do with your own history?
I do, it's still in development. It's more of a fantasy story than anything to do with my real life,lol.

Is your fursona mated, if so is it to your real life significant other?
Yes, even though my RL S/O isn't part of the fandom, Pyra is not available! XD -- I have had some folks approach me to make naughty pictures of her. It really depends on how well I know the person. I do not let total strangers do this XB --Nudity is fine. Anything beyond that and It starts to get a lil uncomfortable. She's a very personal character to me and I am not polyamorous so I do not imagine Pyra being so either.

If not are they looking for a mate, or are they a swinger so to speak?

Is there something special about your fursona that you think sets them apart from others?
Not many folks have a extinct species as their fursona. So I guess that would be considered special :)
Pyralis also has elemental fire powers, generated by the stars in ye olde cosmos. She is a warrior in a Tolkien-esque fantasy setting.

Do you have much art of your main fursona/s?
Well, unfortunately due to a busy busy schedule( commissions+ day job) I don't get to draw her much, but I am trying to change that this year and explore this character more through character design and story writing :) I have had folks in the past commission me to draw pictures of her. That is totally welcome and a real treat ;) -drawing for myself without guilt- WOW

Would you ever consider parting with your main fursona, if so why?
No, I wouldn't. She is a reflection of the things I like, and I doubt that will drastically change. She will continue to evolve with me as she has always done.

If you suit, do you have a suit of your main fursona?
Nope, don't plan on getting one either. I admire the craft of fursuit making, but fursuiting isn't something I'm interested in.

Have you ever roleplayed with your main fursona, or do you prefer not to?
A bit yes, but I don't have time to really role play much anymore XD

I hope everyone had a delightful Christmas. May the rest of the Holidays treat you all well :) --Mine were wonderful so far!

2012 was a very busy year for me. Buying my first house totally threw me off track with art--as it was a great new responsibility and it took much time to get settled in(I still don't even have all my books unpacked! ). It also required me to work more hours at my day job.

That being said I hope 2013 is a more productive year for me for art. That is my wish for the New Year. Despite having to work another job, no matter how tired I am, I need to focus and keep working hard instead of passing out XD -- I cannot forget what is most important to me!

Edit: I am out of invites for this month folks! I'll post another journal when I have more :) --It's great to see more artists (and art appreciators) on there now!
