Covid19 and Life updates : The Death of my Aunt
Posted 4 years agoAs many of you know, I work in a hospital that was obliterated during the first surge. We received a second surge due to Thanksgiving and Christmas/New Years. We are finally no longer in surge crisis at this time, but we're all waiting with bated breath on Spring Break and hopefully, a strong rollout and turnout for vaccinations.
I am fully vaccinated, and now we are started to vaccinate the general public.
This relatively amazing news, but I need to remind you all to do your due diligence and wear a mask. Keeping yourself healthy and protected will be the only way to leave this nightmare. We are still experiencing an intense amount of death.
Since 2/4/21 to 2/23/21. My Aunt was in the ICU for long-term complications of COVID19. She tested negative when she was hospitalized but was positive for weeks, and, suffered from persistent groundglass BL pneumonia. I was fortunate to have her at the facility I work at, where, many of my coworkers kept an extra eye out for her. She unfortunately did not make it, and passed on 2/23/21 at 1800, quickly after she was extubated. I cried in my workscrubs as I watched her agonal breaths and felt no pulse. She wore the same face as all the COVID19 patients we've laid to rest, but it hurt more to know this was my own. My last text message to her was, " Call me ASAP" as she was sent from her doctors office to the emergency room. The pain is unimaginable. This is a woman who not only cared for me as if she were my mother, but she actively involved herself into my life. Knowing she is gone is devastating, the grief runs deep like a stab wound. We're all still in shock; she was never supposed to die, at least not this early, and not like this.
I've been receiving an incredible amount support during this tumultuous time, but it has been hard. It still doesn't feel real, and I still don't know what to make of it; even though I know.
On a brighter note:
I accepted a new position to work as an Intensive Care Nurse; or ICU for short. I will be working with 2-3 extremely sick patients that are on specialty drips to keep them alive. I will be starting this new position next month. I've always wanted to be an ICU nurse but wanted to feel out different veins of the nursing profession first. My first position was working in an Subacute Orthopedic Rehabilitation Center for the Geriatric population, next I became a Trauma/Orthopedic RN and now I am taking the next step onto my journey. I don't know if I will ever become a Practitioner, or throw that idea out all the way and just go to Med School (Likely no). But time will soon tell.

Commission TOS
Posted 10 years agoTerms of Service
Effective as of 7/2/2016:
Due to some individuals abusing my 'payment after approval' courtesy, payment is now due upfront. This also applies to sketch commissions, after payment is sent I will show pre-sketches for the clients approval.
Send all commission requests by noting me here on FA.
By commissioning me, you agree to these terms of service.
Fetish commissions will not be accepted.
I reserve the right to decline any commission for any reason at any time.
Image references only. No exceptions.
Prices listed on the commission sheet are starting points for base service. Additional characters, backgrounds, or excessive clutter around the character (a litter of puppies, complex flowers, etc.) will increase the price.
When the initial sketch is approved, payment must be received in full via Paypal before progress resumes on the piece.
Payment is nonrefundable.
In addition to the initial sketch milestone, there will be two more progress milestones during which you may request changes; once rough colors are laid, and when the piece is finished. Due to the nature of sketch commissions, the rough colors milestone will be omitted.
Once the initial sketch is approved, all major revisions, such as changing the pose or lighting in a drastic way, will cost $20 USD per revision. The initial sketch milestone, before payment is received, is the ONLY milestone where major changes will be accepted for free.
After the initial sketch is approved, you will be permitted up to three free minor revisions, such as color changes. Any subsequent minor changes will result in an additional charge of $5 per revision.
If I am unable to finish a commission within a two-month timeframe after payment is received, you are eligible for a full refund. If you choose to wait for your piece instead of accepting the refund, we will discuss a new deadline.
If you are interested in a custom piece, contact me and we can negotiate pricing and a suitable timetable.
