Music, Moving, and Other Updates
Posted 13 years agoSo, I've been looking at my album in the works, "A Dawning Reality." I've been bragging about having 13 songs in the works for it as of late.
I was wrong. It's actually 14, and I've already completed 5 of them. The rest need parts and pieces here and there, but they're relatively close to being complete! So, when those are finished, you may find that my submissions on here disappear. That will be because I may be putting this album on sale. SO, uploads on here can only be WIP's, and Previews. Bear in mind that only the songs for this album will be affected. Other songs that are not featured on the album, of course, will stay up. Any piece that was considered "Incomplete" will stay uploaded. But all finished pieces that are also featured on the album will be replaced and/ or Deleted.
So, be prepared!

I finally took the time to go through my submissions on this site: over 500 music submissions to sift through.
Through the process, some people's work was overlooked, and some people are no longer being watched due to "lack of improvement." I hate to sound critical and cynical about that, but hey: what I put into my ears tends to come out of my studio.
While a lot of submissions were weeded out, a lot hit me well, and a lot of people got good comments, even downloads. We have some talented musical artists here on FA, ladies and gentlemen. It's just the issue of FINDING them. xD

I'm not talking "run of the mill, slightly above or right at average, joe schmoe, knows the basics of making music" kind of people. I want to find people with TALENT! PIZZAZZ! Excellent mastering ability in particular. ^^

Califur! (And Teeth!)
Posted 13 years agoSo, my mate and I have decided to go to the Califur convention only for Saturday. I have work on Friday, and prior plans to attend a kickback on Sunday. I was lucky enough to get Saturday free of work! xD
So, on all ends, this works out. ^^ I'm cheap, stretched for time, and Psycho doesn't even want to go, SO! Perfect! We'll most likely be at the con all day. If you would like to get in touch with me, I'll have my iTouch on me at all times during the con, hooked up to the hotel WiFi (if I can manage it) which will give me access to my Skype and Live Messenger. If that works out, you can catch me there! my screen names are on my profile! Otherwise, you'll need to note me on here before the con to be able to contact me by phone (call or text) while at the con.
Also! After some heavy research, I found a dentist that takes Medi-Cal... and it was in the exact same plaza as the boutique that I work at! Talk about a kick to the teeth!
I had 2 cavities as well the chipped tooth that was abscessing. Medi-Cal covers cavities outright, but root canals are a little more difficult. Half the work on my chipped tooth is done: They entered the tooth through drilled holes, extracted the nerve and the dead infected tissue inside of the tooth, and sealed the holes back up with temporary fillings. Now they have to send a request to Medi-Cal to complete the procedure, which could take days, weeks, even months (which is why I said Medi-Cal is USELESS!)
The temporary patches they did on my tooth feel quite solid though (because I know that dentist knew we'd be waiting awhile... she probably super-glued them in to keep them more solid!)

Home! Health Update!
Posted 13 years agoWell, I've actually been home since the 20th... But, my time has been spent majorly with my mate after 10 days of not having him right next to me.
My trip to Ohio was, in all truth, a Disaster. I was sick the WHOLE time. Even when I started to feel better, something else ended up going wrong.
From throat infections, to rashes, to mental instability, the trip didn't go as well as it could have.
Nevertheless, I'm home now, and almost completely recovered from all ailments. My teeth are still trying to abscess again (which you can read the whole story about that here: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/2153979/ ) so I need to get them taken care of. I don't think the infection in them is going to just go away with an antibiotic this time, since I've been on them for 11 days and they haven't done much to kill the infection.
Ya'll will most likely get an earful when I get my teeth taken care of!
Also, since my health was failing, my manager gave me the week off. Honestly, I could go back to work right now, but spending time with my mate is more appealing, and my teeth hurt a little. SO I'll go back Friday and do damage assessment then.
Financially: I'm in good standing. I can most likely get my teeth taken care of without the help of Medi-cal (which is useless,) or insurance (which I don't have) and still have enough to pay the rent, pay back debts, and re-apply for my Cosmetology Licensure Exam. I just need to find the right doctor for it.
As for Califur: I'm technically planning on going, but, honestly it's up in the air: It all depends on if my mate and I both really want to go, and I know that he really doesn't want to: He'd be putting up with it for me. SO! We'll see... I should have pre-regged when I had the chance. xD

Posted 13 years agoSO! My Ohio trip has been a little "on the rocks" for awhile. I have been planning on flying into Ohio on the 11th for weeks now, but the way things were going, the 10 days I was going to take off work were almost all going to be spent on Long Island, in Huntington Bay. This was a problem, which is why I didn't mention my trip until now!

I HATE 99 Cent Store Bags, and Shasta Cola...
Posted 13 years ago...Because they conspired to kill my laptop.
I ended up with a can of Shasta Cola in my laptop bag in a 99 Cent Store bag to prevent laptop killing.
While I was walking to work, the bag got a HUGE hole in it, and my can of soda exploded. I didn't realize it until it started to leak through my bag onto my leg (so now I get to be cola stained for work too.) I immediately pulled out my laptop, which had cola gushing out of it. I realized that it was in sleep mode... I immediately did a hard shut down and removed the battery.
My laptop, external hard drive, charger, and phone charger were all in the bag at the time. I'm letting the external hard drive dry out as we speak.
As for my laptop. . . I'm on it as we speak. It seems to be functioning alright. Any moisture left within the system should be dried by the heat of the system and the movement of the air from the cooling fans. Although the system is OK, my screen is damaged. It's still usable, but quite annoying to have to look at all the dark spots.
Today looks like it's going to be a FUUUUN day. .__________________.

Posted 13 years agoI've finally cleaned out my submissions inbox. I've been art-ed out for the week. I've also earned shouts asking if I've gone "Fave-Crazy," which is kind of fun.
In other news, I'm about ready to cut a chola...either that, or get her ass fired. My co-worker closed the boutique today and went home without locking the door. It's a long story, but I arrived there to find 5 Latina women browsing through the store like they were hot shit with no one to oversee them.
The minute I walked through the door, the 5 of them all filed out like they had something to hide.
I immediately called the manager and explained the situation, then called my co-worker and explained the situation to her. My co-worker tried to blame the manager for what she did.
shortly after, my manager and I sat down and had a nice long conversation about what's been going on in the shop, both on the financial part on her end, and on the workforce on my end. We got a lot of stuff in order... and my co-worker ended up halfway up the shit list.
Since then, my co-worker has spun up a whole mess of a web of drama, including when she called me at 9:30 to get on my case for telling my manager that she was immediately on the phone with her boyfriend as soon as she walked through the door of the shop today, and that our EX co-worker was talking shit about our head manager causing animosity between the manager and my co-worker.
After all she's done today, with all the unprofessionalism, I'm ready to fire her. I wish I could. I have 5 people who could fill her shoes with a work ethic 137 times better than the one she's developed.
Today, until the afternoon, was a nice fulfilling 4 hour work day... that turned into a 7 hour day with a lot of drama.

Cosmetology State Exam: FAILED

Me failing to obtain my licensure has set back any of my prior plans another 4 months. The stress that preparing for this exam has caused me, let alone failing the damn test, was enough to make me quit.
I'm genuinely considering selling all of my supplies. To HELL with cosmetology. In reality, the only reason I went into the field was so that I wouldn't get kicked out of my house.

The Boutique I Work At Caught ON FIRE!
Posted 13 years agoYesterday, around 5:20, smoke began to fill the shop of Cutesy Boutique.
Somewhere in the back room, and unknown source started a fire in our storage room, which features a cornucopia of empty shoe boxes, mannequins, astrology books, brooms, mops, and a couple cans of PAINT. xD
Now, normally, there is only ONE person in the shop at a time. When the fire started, our Owner and manager Mia, her daughter, and her mother LoRetta were all dispersed throughout the shop.
I thought I smelled something burning. I looked up and saw wisps of smoke caressing the ceiling. I began to walk through the shop, saying that something was wrong, burning... I thought it would be a small flame.
When I opened the door to the store room, I was greeted by a wall of smoke, and a pile of shoe boxes that were up in flames.
I went into a panicked fit of tourettes, bellowing to Mia asking where the fire extinguisher was (with a few other obscene words thrown in) which happened to be RIGHT NEXT TO THE DOOR! xD I ripped the extinguisher off the wall and went in, ready to go apeshit on the inferno, but Mia yelled "Wait, ya gotta POP it!" Fire extinguishers have a pin these days... >.>
So, I popped it, Hit the base of the flames, walked away, Yelled for Mia to get on the phone with the fire department (which thank god she did,) and within 30 seconds, the fire was back AGAIN with a vengeance.
LoRetta went NUTS, ran out of the shop, then ran back in, saved the merchandise that she'd stocked the store with that day, went back INTO THE STORE ROOM, grabbed her pair of black pumps, and ran the fuck out with her granddaughter screaming for her to get out the whole time, while Mia freaked out wondering what the hell to do with her car around back which she thought would catch on FIRE.
I went back into the store room 2 other times a midst the drama, with my trusty fire extinguisher in hand. I hit the flames as much as I could before the extinguisher ran out of juice.
The fire brigade was at the front within 7 minutes, and with the fire still going strong, they went to work.
The shop is still standing. The back room didn't sustain too much damage (thanks to quick action) but all of the shop is covered in ash, most of the merchandise is smoke damaged, and during the chaos, Mia's purse was SNATCHED.
The shop will will remain shut down for the week, so I don't have to worry about working before my state board exam this Wednesday. I'm being revered as the hero of the plaza for taking care of the flames before shit got REALLY out of hand and the WHOLE STRIP MALL went up in flames.
...crazy shit.

Roommates & Test Dates & Barcodes, OH MY!
Posted 13 years agoSo, I'm finally not Homeless... I snagged a room in Costa Mesa for 350 a month with a 30 year old Filipino male who works in the medical industry.
And, I got my State Board Examination for my Cosmetology License SCHEDULED! xD I go to Glendale on the 14th for my exam. ^^
Also, we've been trying to get our Zebra LP 2844 Barcode and Label printer up and running for the past month. I sat down, figured the fucker out, and tagged 1/3 of the store today. My co-worker got to do the rest (she's been slacking a bit recently though [due to a pregnancy scare, and a hormonal imbalance that comes into effect after taking the "morning after" pill] so I didn't mind letting her do some actual work, versus calling up her friends and Boyfriend and chatting with them mindlessly.)
I'm a little hungry, but tired beats hungry at the moment. I have to work at 10 am tomorrow, but at least this time I don't have to wake up at 6:30 to make my shift.
... I'm just in shock. All the drama that I've been going through for the past 3 months is finally over... I can rest easy for the night.

It's 10:30, and I've still not found a place to stay for the evening. Any safe places that I can go are too far: I can't reach them.
I'm not kidding this time around guys: I really need some help. I just picked up a job, and I can't lose it right now over something this trivial and stupid.

House Hopper Michia Is House Hopping!

Well, nevertheless, I'm being faced with the possibility of having no place to live. To those of you who know, I did happen to pick up a Sales Associate position at Cutesy Boutique in Costa Mesa, so I will have at least a little income, but that won't mean much if I have no place to live in the area. Now, I'm sure that
Solid_Spy will gladly take me in again (against his parents wishes,) but the situation there is a little bit Ridiculous mainly because I have to hide my stuff whenever his parents decide to drop by, but also because Laguna Niguel is about a 20-30 minute drive from Costa Mesa, and since I have no car, I'm left riding the bus 2 hours to get to work, and 2 hours to get back home. Each route option has at least 3 bus transfers, and each bus costs $1.50 to get on. x3 Cost effective? maybe... x3
Nonetheless, I'm looking for a place in Costa Mesa again. Anywhere in the area, even Newport Beach or Irvine will do. I don't get paid until Wednesday of next week, but if need be done, I will find a way to compensate. I cook, I clean, and I'm easy to live with. solid_spy will vouche for me on this one. ^^
If ANYONE knows where I can go, house, shelter, SOMETHING, please, let me know. ^^
EDIT: I also forgot to mention: My cosmetology license... I'll be able to take the state board exam and get that fucker HOPEFULLY in April. Until then, I've gotta survive.

Solid_Spy will gladly take me in again (against his parents wishes,) but the situation there is a little bit Ridiculous mainly because I have to hide my stuff whenever his parents decide to drop by, but also because Laguna Niguel is about a 20-30 minute drive from Costa Mesa, and since I have no car, I'm left riding the bus 2 hours to get to work, and 2 hours to get back home. Each route option has at least 3 bus transfers, and each bus costs $1.50 to get on. x3 Cost effective? maybe... x3Nonetheless, I'm looking for a place in Costa Mesa again. Anywhere in the area, even Newport Beach or Irvine will do. I don't get paid until Wednesday of next week, but if need be done, I will find a way to compensate. I cook, I clean, and I'm easy to live with.

Posted 14 years agoI've decided that it is in my best interest to open up shop here on FA. I will be taking up to 4 commissioners at a time doing various forms of musical commissions.
Pricing!
Pricing is based on the length of the song, the number of tracks used, and the hours of work put into the song.
Rates.
Price per minute constructed: $1.00 no minimum or maximum limit on minutes.
Price per tracks/ layers used: $0.25 Minimum requirement of 5 tracks.
Price per hour worked: $0.50 Basic tracks usually take at least 6 hours to construct properly.
The process.
Before a music commission is started, an estimated price, or "quote" is issued to an individual inquiring about a commission. Quotes will take into effect the desired length of the song, the desired number of tracks in the song, and an estimate on how long it will take to construct the song. Work time will be computed based on the genre, or type of sound the commissioner desires.
If the individual wishes to proceed with commissioning, an upfront fee must be covered. The upfront fee will cover the desired length of the song, and the desired number of tracks. Once that payment is received, notice will be given, and work on the song will begin.
Low-fi previews can be requested at any time throughout the working process. Mixes can only be previewed in high quality with the submission of a fee that will fully cover the price of work that has been done at that point in time. (This is to keep people from evading payment on a song.)
The entire process of music composition, mixing, and mastering may take from 2 weeks, to one month to complete.
Upon completion of the track, a final fee must be paid before the track is released to the commissioner. The final fee will include the price for work time, and any difference in the number of tracks used or the length of the song.(If the length of the song is less than the original desired length, the price difference will be deducted from the final fee.)

Posted 14 years agoMy time here in Costa Mesa seems to be running out, and I think I'm on the last few grains of sand.
The head of the house where I'm staying right now is asking me about an "Exit strategy." Basically, the terms stated when I came here were: "this situation is only temporary." So, at the end of the month, I have to have a viable 'exit strategy' in motion. I can probably stay here until possibly the 9th of January, but I can't be sure about that.
In the event that I can not find a viable "Out" on my own terms, I will need a Plan C, which means I may need to call on the helping hands of the furies living nearby. If anyone can lend a hand, a foot, a couch to crash on in case the shit hits the fan, or a viable plan of action, please, let me know.
But, hopefully I can figure something out... I want to try my best to stay here in CA... but I don't have much to offer right now. To be honest I'm sick of asking for help and I want to be self sufficient... But as of right now, I can't see that happening easily.

From December 22nd to the 27th, I will be in Tempe, and since Papi can be quite the busy individual, I will most likely be free to galavant around with you intriguing young desert furries! xD

Posted 14 years agoI finally made it to CA after one long ass day of traveling (both across the country, and across LA...) I was able to visit shortly with some of my friends that currently live in the LA area today, and after doing 6 hours-ish of flying, I'm beat. I'm also hungry... But too tired to think about that.

Posted 14 years agoI was going to wait to send the word out about this until I had my plane ticket home purchased, but from what I can tell, everything seems to be set in stone thus far.
I'm going home to California permanently, hopefully in mid November. In all truth, I'm more excited than I would care to show. The thought of being home where I belong is such a comfort that I can not contain the feeling well in my damaged state (And, I warn you all; North East Ohio damages Cali-Furs)
Now, I've taken a look into getting my cosmetology license in California (and for those of you who don't know, transferring a cosmetology license to another state isn't as easy as transferring, say, a drivers license.) I'm going to have to fork over $175 in fee's to get my paperwork processed, and take the California state board exam for cosmetology all over again, which I know will be a bitch... but at least this time I can force someone to come with me (such as my mate, or one of my friends in Newport Beach/ Costa Mesa.) Once I send in the proper forms and cash to the Ohio, and California State Board, there tends to be an 8-12 week period before you get your test date... so that will be a little hard to work with. I'm hoping like hell that it won't take 12 weeks or more. That would put a bit of a wrench in my plans.
The way I see things at the moment, I've got 2 months to get myself financially stable. Niles has agreed to take me under his wing and help me along the way as much as he can until I'm stable enough to cover myself financially, but I'm not one to be a mooch. If I don't have a job within 2 months, I'll either be heading to Tempe Arizona to stay with my father, or back to Ohio, (and yes, I'm giggling at the fact that I'll be able to poke faine if I go to live with my father.)
This is where a 12 week waiting period won't help me. My specialty in the work force is being a stylist. Without that certification, I'm pretty much a "personality with no skill."
But, in all truth, I'm not all too worried.
My concerns at the moment are getting together the $175 to get my license in CA, getting my flight booked, and finding a way to tell my boss that I won't be working with her anymore. x3
But, I'm not going to worry too much about that right at this moment.

Halo_Rising and 
partywolf09 are taking part in "Wicked Weekends" as "Victim and Captor" actors in this scary attraction! We, being the supporting furies that we are, are going to uplift them on the night of their last performance! Let's not forget to mention that there are multiple attractions set up at this function, including (from what partywolf09 says) a kickass set of carnival rides.
The location: Clays Park Resort, address; 13190 Patterson Street NW, North Lawrence, OH 44666
Date: October 30th
Meeting Time: 7pm
Meeting place: to be announced. (waiting for valued intel from inside of the ranks)
End time: 10pm
Required supplies: Outdoor clothing and shoes (plan for mud,) along with $20 for admission ($20 gets you access to anything at the event.) Either bring food, or money for food.

After I listened to all these tracks and compared them all, I came to the conclusion that it sounds like 3 different people singing all of my songs.
So, I have a question for all you watchers...
Does it sound like 3 different people are singing these 3 different songs?
