I would just like to say that probably every day on FA I read something that kills me a little inside. It's no secret that you aren't the most brilliant batch of...people(?) out there, but some of you push the envelope a little bit more than any sane person should. Note that I am not trying to be condescending about this or particularly point fingers at which of you I believe should sit in the corner proudly wearing a nice "dunce" hat, but sometimes it just cannot be avoided.
Browsing through journals, I happened to have had my attention caught by one in particular that said "ew...polotics >w>" I myself hate politics, so the combination of an ignorance of proper spelling and a common interest intrigued me. Browsing through the comments on this journal, however, revealed what may be one of the most painfully ignorant things I have yet been exposed to on this site.

It hurts me. A lot. I don't particularly care if you vote, or if you don't. I don't care who really wins most elections or what they really do for our country. I understand that there are many people actively involved in the economy and in our government and that there are many of you who follow these things quite closely and have passionate views on the whole situation (read: madeline). However, I think it takes a pretty hefty level of social ignorance to leave a comment so... terrible? It's bad enough that it shows such a horrible lack of caring towards our voting process, but it also portrays an attitude of ridicule towards those who actually do participate in it.

Katamari Damacy is another video game that it's impossible to have a journal about video games and not have it in here. All the music from Katamari games is unique and exciting, but I have to say this one is my favorite. I walk around humming it all the time.

This is like a staple in video game music history. It's so beautiful and adventurous and the full orchestration going on with the big build up when it goes instrumental and such it is just the perfect song.

I mean c'mon this is an epic song. It fits the atmosphere of the levels more than perfectly. There is nothing that would make this song better suited to the environment.

8) Sheep Man's Stage - Mega Man 10

I've only played MM9 and 10, and a lot of the music is super awesome, but Sheep Man wins for being a good example of pretty and catchy 8 bit music. A lot of 8 bit music is either fast paced and in your face or slow and really forgettable. Sheep Man is the perfect median of these, even if he sucks as a robot master.

Posted 15 years agoSo I know no one watches me and therefore no one will ever see this but I feel the urge to type this up.
Today was one of the first really nice days of Spring, I believe. There have been moments of serenity outside with the peacefulness of spring in the air, but today was just something special. All day it's been beautiful outside, the sun shining and the birds ceaseless in their calls. The windows have been open for countless hours, allowing the wonder to permeate the house. Suddenly, however, a low rumble began to make itself known, rising and falling every so often, gradually increasing in the splendor of its call. I sat outside and watched the pure white clouds race across the sky, fleeing from the massive beast that was approaching. Bit by bit, it made its purpose known as flashes found their way to its surface and the thunderous cries increased in magnitude. The world beneath had yet been unfazed by its presence, however, as if denying the existence of any threat to its routine. The beast above would not be ignored, and called forth the winds to force-feed the terror into the creatures below. Haunting whistles called out from the trees and the only sound left from the birds was the hurried flapping of wings. Playing fair by the rules of the game, the beast let out one final warning; water fell from the skies, slowly at first, but increasing in speed, and finally ceasing entirely. The world below stood on its toes, suspended in time, extending a cautious ear for the declaration of war.
It never came.
I watched and waited for the downpour, it had been the reason I was there, after all, but I suppose I wasn't a part of this quarrel. This was a battle between the forces of nature, and pleasing me wasn't a part of the plan. The rain's only audience had been the trees, and deeming their hunger to have been sated, it took its leave.
I lingered for a moment, in awe at the speed of the cloud as it left, perhaps even quicker than it had appeared. It must have sensed the disappointment at such an abrupt stop in the action, because as I looked upwards, the tiniest fragment of a rainbow showed itself above the line of trees. It contrasted so perfectly and contained such vivid colors that it was a shame there was so little of it. I thought to run inside and grab a camera to get a picture of it; something so magnificent as this should be shared with others. Following the example of the cloud, however, it vanished. Had I decided to save it on film I would have never had time, so I was glad I had stayed to cherish the moment. Now believing its work to be fully completed, the cloud moved onwards, perhaps to bestow some miracle to another lucky cloud gazer.
It was a nice day.
