My YouTube Channel
Posted 5 years agoHello Folks! As I once again look to expand my horizons in life I have decided on a few new ventures. Unfortunately in the past I have been derailed due to not being able to find the right support for the projects but now I don't need anyone else but that is hopefully a thing of the past. I have recently launched a YouTube Channel and hope to be posting some fursuit and other content on there regularly. First important video launches today at 6:30 PM EST and it is my Unboxing video. So please slip on over there and take a look. I'm still a bit new with video editing and recording so it is a little rough but I am working to get better.

New Project! Don't you want to know what it is?
Posted 8 years agoHello to all my friends and followers, thank you for taking the time to read my newest update. With the new year comes a new perspective and I have noticed that I have a lot of NSFW art. Now I am not discounting how much I love my NSFW art work but I also want to get some pieces done to show off my characters in a more SFW capacity.
I often have a hard time coming up with a more detailed idea for a art commission when I have the funds so the natural conclusion that I have come to is to have a series of art that are connected in some way. And what I have decided to do is to incorporate my love of gaming and anime. I sincerely doubt that I am the first to think of this, but I am going to take this quite to heart. Each of my beloved babies will be drawn in a different cosplay or representation of a character that represents them well.
If you as an artist would like to participate in this project, please let me know. I would of course be paying for this work. Also for those of you that aren't artists but want to contribute in your own way, suggestions are always welcomed. See below for the list so far!
Rio - Edward Elric (FullMetal Alchemist)

Tips for the Commissioning Community from a friend
Posted 8 years agoBased on my previous journal, I'm sure that everyone thinks I will always side with commissioners and patrons. That is not the case. Often people's expectations of artists can be rather skewed and here are some tips that I have to ensure that you not only get your art but also have a pleasant experience during the process.
1. Be Respectful Artists are not soulless drones put on this earth to create content for our amusement. They are people just like me and you. They have lives, work, emergencies, and can also get burnt out from time to time. If they are in contact with you and are respectful, be the same in return. Most people I know do the work of people they like before people they don't....
2. Freebies aren't Mandatory When an artist gives away art for free, it is a gift and a privilege. It should never be something that is expected nor should you ever give an artist grief for not selecting your character for the free art. Approaching an artist expecting something for free is very, very disrespectful.
3. Keep up your end of things If you are supposed to deliver something to your artist by a specific time, do it. You would get upset if they didn't do the same right? This could be money, a description, an approval, or whatever is needed to move the project further.

Tips for the Artist Community from a friendly point of view
Posted 8 years agoWith many of my artist friends seemingly having struggles as of late, I thought that it was time that I put pen to paper as it were with some of the things that have been swirling around in my head. I honestly don't think that many of them will read this and if any of them do they will likely believe that this doesn't apply to them. But here it goes.....
Please take note that I am writing this journal from the point of view as someone within the business and banking community as well as someone that is involved within the art community as well. Many of those that I know and those that are watching me have been starting to or have been trying to use their art talents to completely support themselves. While I am in full support of you all doing this, there is a strategy that must be followed while doing this. And while there are many ways to do it, I am going to lay out what I believe is a safe and easy way for you to do it.
1. Start Out Small One of the things that I see happening frequently is that people believe that just because they have a talent for art that they can use it to support themselves right out of the gate. I don't want to burst anyone's bubble here but that just isn't the case in almost every scenario. This is a harsh business, one that requires a lot of time and a lot of luck to succeed. Set small goals to start out, ones that are attainable and measurable. Put the proceeds, ALL of the proceeds, towards something that you want or need in your life while continuing to work your normal life. An improvement to your house, car, or a pieces of tech that you want...it can be anything. Then take measure of just how long it takes to attain that.
2. Effort, you will need a lot of it. One of the biggest mistakes that many artists fall into is believing that once they are good at art, people will just come along and buy from you. This is likely not going to be the case. It will need to be a constant and complete string of advertising, streaming, and conversing with perspective clients. This will include, unfortunately, people that will ask you about art and expect it for free, not end up commissioning you, and just being plain ole ignorant. It is something you will have to fight through unfortunately.
3. Prove it to yourself If you feel like you have made it to the level that you can sustain yourself on art alone, great! But at the same time I don't think that you should get too far ahead of yourself when you are just on a winning streak. Don't quite your job, take an extended vacation, or anything like that until you know you can do this for an extended period of time. Give it three months, though six months is a better span, and make sure that you continue to make enough that you can continue to do so without much of a problem. If you can, let loose and start setting your own schedule. You earned it.
4. Hitting a slump? Everyone has them no matter what they do for a living. Only difference is that most people aren't running their own business and can make it through anyways. I recommend doing this even while you are doing well to continue to increase your popularity, but not everyone is in favor of this. Run specials, discounts, loyalty programs, and any other manner of thing that you can think of to make your customers feel appreciated. Run a raffle and give a big discount away to everyone that commissioned you last month, run a stream that has discounts or a free raffle at set intervals, give them a discount for multiple commissions, or keep track and give out something free once they order enough.
5. Get and Stay Organized Nothing makes a client more angry than someone that is disorganized and needs constant reminders. Staying organized will allow you to make deadlines, keep people happy, and get repeat business. Start a commission queue somewhere, provide sketches and updates where you are....the more contact the better.
6. Get some help Most people can't do this sort of thing alone. Get someone that you are connected to, or someone that you can possibly pay, to help you. They can run your specials for you, upload updates, keep your queue up to date, and run the normal communication with prospective clients. If there is a lot of work going on, it will allow you to keep working while everyone that is trying to gain your attention....gets a response.
7. Pay your Bills! This is really the most important tip that I can give you. Beyond any kind of supplies for art, upgrades to programs, or anything like that....pay your rent, heat, electricity, and food. It won't help you at all to have a room for a con that you are going to vend at.....if you are living in your car once you leave.

No longer using new artists
Posted 8 years agoI will now be refusing to order from any new artists and/or maker for anything going forward. I'm tired of the way that too many people in this community treat their patrons and honestly cannot believe it. I have been ripped off twice in the past six months for art, feel like I have another one coming, and have a suit that has been 'in progress' for a year with no clear completion date.
I am very understanding of the fact that artists have lived and things happen to all of us that end up delaying things. However it is an important part of customer service to complete a patrons work in the order or close to the order in which you receive them depending on the complexity of said work. When you have customers waiting for art work, I don't believe that you should be taking on other commissions of the same value and completing them before the first person is done nor do I believe that you should provide an unreqchable date knowing that you won't be able to complete in time. If you were hungry and ordered a pizza that was promised to you within an hour, you wouldn't be very happy if it came three days later would you?
This is my rant and I am sure that I will receive counter points from several artists on my list...or perhaps nobody will read this. I just needed a place to vent out and make my feelings known

Hoping to get a commission or two done
Posted 9 years agoHello all and thanks for taking the time to read. I am looking for a commission or two as I try to cheer myself up after a rough end to the week. With that in mind, I would hope for a fairly quick turn around time. If you have an opening, please shoot me a note or skype me on Rio.Kitten2.
New Project Upcoming! Needing a some assistence though.
Posted 9 years agoHello everyone and thanks so much for reading. I am hoping to start a project that will run for a while (I hope so anyways) and I know that I am going to need some help. The deeper specifics of the project will remain hidden for the time being since I am fearful that it might be stolen before a newbie like myself before it gets into production. SO if I still have you with me, here is the synopsis.
General idea: The project itself is fairly simple in nature. I am attempting to break into the analyst game in relation to My Little Pony to start before branching out into other areas as well. This will not be simply reviewing the show episodes as there are enough talented people that are doing that. I will be taking a look at other parts of both the show and the fandom. The end results of the videos that I would like to produce would look similar to that of Silver Quill, Fire Brand, or IloveKimPossibleaLot.
What is being asked: What I am asking for is one of two things really. The first might just be some advice from someone that has experience in these areas. What I might need, overall suggestions, and things of that nature.
The other thing that I would be requesting might just be someone that is interested in the project itself. I have some artistic talent but not nearly enough to do something like this on my own. I know that there will be sound and video editing involved as well as artwork in general. If you are in those fields and a fellow Brony, please don't hesitate to contact me...though I think a youtube channel might be a ways out there.....but who knows!
