September 2023 Check-in
Posted 2 years agoHeya there~
Just wanna do another lil check-in. More updates on:
- the state of my commission queue & what I plan to work on
- what I’m thinking of working on
- any other updates
- and let any of you all ask open-ended questions you’d like me to answer.
— Commissions & Plans —
Well I did it! I finished both the projects I mentioned last check-in. I finished Glory Hole Stories 3 the comic and put it up for sale. That's been up for a few weeks now and has sold well. I'm very proud of how polished it came out in the end! And I also finished like 90%+ of the work for the project with Draconix I mentioned before. I finished enough of it to say my part is done. Also very proud of the work I've done on that so far. Maybe I'll be posting about it in my gallery soon. :3c
And just like I mentioned before, after I finished those two, I did move back into working on single-image commissions and comic commissions. I set myself up with 8 more commissions to work on for the coming 4 weeks; I plan to complete 2 per week. The comic commission for me right now is with PathWarden, and you should see pages for that start going up within the next 4 weeks.
Oh, and now that I've finished GHS3, I did resume writing for the Pushing My Buttons personal comic. I'm filling a lot of holes in the plot, connecting moments several pages apart, and adding in more personal touches. I still hope to finish the writing and start drawing pages by the end of this year. To begin drawing, I need to fill in all the details from the beginning up to a certain point in the story, then I can start drawing it again finally.
In the start, I was drawing PMB off-the-cuff, but now I really want it to have the story and character arc(s) written out in advance.
— Ideas —
I haven't been drawing Buttons as much as I thought I would last check-in journal. I wasn't feeling inspired much. I would still like to! Especially because Buttons' birthday is on Halloween and I'd like this to be his time of year in particular.
Speaking of this time of year, it's spooky season! Pumpkin spice, spooky scary skeletons, witches, candy, all that good stuff! I think I'd like to draw some stuff like Mila wearing a lewd Halloween costume. I've seen so many "sexy" versions of normal costumes that I kinda wanna try doing that with her, particularly for Mila's anthro form.
— General Updates —
I finished Tunic! What a great game! If you like classic Zelda games, really good video game soundtracks, puzzle solving, and/or Dark Souls, try this game out! You also get to play as a cute lil fox wearing a tunic with a sword and shield. Idk all the platforms it's on, but I know it's available on PC and Switch. I stayed up late a few nights solving the puzzles in the game. It felt super satisfying to contemplate a puzzle, have a breakthrough, and make progress after getting stuck. I actually had to write little notes on a piece of paper to solve the harder puzzles and get the true ending. I felt like I was playing it as a kid.
I escaped my major lack of motivation that I mentioned last time! I started showering daily, going for walks, and cleaning my place daily, and I feel way better. It's surprising to me how all these little things that are mainly physical acts can affect my mood. I really need to remember to do this every time I feel uninspired or not motivated to do anything. I don't think it's guaranteed to work, but it has a high likelihood of improving my mood.
— Feedback —
If you have any feedback you’d like to give or questions you’d like answered, feel free to ask. Suggestions, technical stuff, how I do certain things, if I’m okay with something, anything.

August 2023 Check-in

- what I’m thinking of working on

— Commissions & Plans —
Commissions and other paid work has slowed down a lot for me lately. Instead, I’ve been working on another project I won’t mention for now, but the short version is I have less time than normal to work on art.
I slowed down on drawing due to working on that other project, so I lost a lot of my momentum. To help get myself back into the swing of drawing, I’m focusing on the Glory Hole Stories 3 comic, which now has 14 of the 18 pages completed. I’m also working with Draconix to make a pokemon art pack that we plan on selling. My goal is to finish both of these projects within the next 2 weeks.
Once those two are done, I can turn my attention back to single image commissions and comic commissions. And once the GHS3 comic is done, I can start devoting more time to to Pushing My Buttons comic. I stopped writing for that comic to focus on GHS3. I didn’t intend on GHS3 to take me most of this year to complete. In the future, I’ll try to make sure I have the proper time needed to make something like that blocked off before I start work.
— Ideas —
I want to draw more Buttons (my cat boy character). He’s a very fun character for me, especially since I consider him my sona, even more than Mila herself. I like seeing him be treated a number of ways, like treated as a girl, treated as a toy, and so on. He’s very submissive and I like that. I want to spend some time drawing him a lot and see which kind of Buttons content people enjoy most. This will also work out since I soon plan on leaning into writing more for the SFW comic featuring him (Pushing My Buttons).
— General Updates —
I finished Outer Wilds and its DLC. It’s now easily in my top 10 favorite games. Next up on my list of games is Tunic!
I lost a huge amount of desire to draw recently. I haven’t had a passion for much of anything, actually. I’m still in the middle of that right now, but I’m quickly experimenting to find out how to correct this. I was doing very well just a couple weeks ago, so it’s possible to get back out of this rut. I believe it’s because I had a bit of burnout and stopped doing a lot of things altogether, things like cleaning, consistent showering, drawing, mainly a lot of self-care stuff. I’m now seeing if I can do a bunch of those self-care things to improve my state of mind and find stuff to be passionate about again. I’m doing stuff like cleaning out my car, cleaning my whole living space up, drinking water, going to bed at a more consistent time, and so on. All the small things make a big difference. Next month when I check in again, I’ll read this and remember whether it worked or not.

Commissions recently opened and closed. Something new I've been doing is sending emails to everyone who applies for a commission. I give each person a response, even if I don't accept their submission. I also try to give some feedback on why I didn't choose their idea if I declined it. Those reasons tend to be stuff like: not providing enough details, I'm not into the idea, or I've made a lot of art for the person recently and want to give others a chance.
I'm properly stacked for commissions for the next few weeks. I hope to open again pretty soon actually, like in about 2-3 weeks.
GHS3 has been fully rough drafted finally! And I colored up to page 10. So yeah, we're coasting on that now. Might be only 1 more month before it's fully colored and ready to release! I don't remember if I mentioned before, but I do plan on selling this comic; probably on some service like Gumroad. I want to try that out - selling a comic as a complete product. I've bought art off of Gumroad from other creators before years ago, and it feels great to try doing it now myself.
Warden and I have begun making comic pages for our comic commission project! I made rough drafts for the first 8 pages around the same time we worked out payment. Warden and I actually got to hang out and that was really nice. I colored the first page of his comic for him in person.
Oh ! Fun fact!!
One of my biggest inspirations to start drawing Milachu stuff many years ago came from a comic that InsomniacOvrLrd drew called "Springtime Desperation" with a Chikorita and Raichu. It was sort-of the genesis for my inspiration and interest in nsfw pokemon art as a craft.
Just this year, I learned that comic was commissioned by PathWarden - the same person commissioning this new comic from me! It feels crazy, like I'm part of this circle of life.
And to be honest, I kinda hope when I finish making this comic, it maybe inspires some other newbie artists to wanna get into making nsfw pokemon art. :3
— Ideas —
So I did make the sketch commission thing a Patreon-exclusive reward for the top tier. It's experimental, and I figure my top dollar supporters are more than cool with me offering them something exclusive. It's worked out well so far! I can still get the sketches done in like an hour, even if the designs are something normally difficult for me, like full anthro bodies.
You can expect to see some Summer-y beach art soon! I had the idea to revisit beach drawings in the summer time because I like how bright and vivid they look. I'm also improving the way I draw stuff like sand and water.
And same as last journal, as soon as I finish GHS3, I will continue work on Pushing my Buttons!
— General Updates —
I started playing Cult of the Lamb, but stopped about a third of the way through to play Outer Wilds (not to be confused with Outer Worlds). Yo Outer Wilds is so good. It's hard to recommend to anyone without gushing about why I like it, because anything I talk about from the story or locations can be spoilers. The way you progress in the game is through acquiring knowledge. In other words, if you know what to do, you can win the game in well under 20 minutes from a fresh save. It's got puzzle solving, mysteries to uncover, space adventure, exploration, a fun round 3-D cartoony art style, fun game mechanics like gravity affecting your ship as you explore planets, and so on. Give it a look if you haven't yet!
I have no new updates on the FA upload policy. My ticket hasn't received a full reply yet. The only thing I received was a message letting me know that as long as my ticket hasn't been answered, I won't be punished if content in my gallery is in non-compliance with the upload policy.
I'll use this time to remind you all that I am posting to places besides FA! Actually, Itaku seems to really be shaping up. I heard they recently got so much traffic that they had to temporarily go offline so they could migrate to a different server to better handle the influx of new traffic. I need to start posting there more.

You may notice I don't post to my galleries as often as I do Twitter, and that's mainly because posting to Twitter is way easier than other sites. No tagging or categories of art required, just put the image, write something short, and post. Twitter is also where I get much of my traffic.
I do want to do something about this. I want to post my art to galleries more often. My first idea is to set some time aside once a week to post all my new stuff to my galleries. I'm thinking Sundays are the best for that.

June 2023 Check-in
Posted 2 years agoHeya there~
Just wanna do another lil check-in. More updates on:
- the state of my commission queue & what I plan to work on
- what I’m thinking of working on
- any other updates
- and let any of you all ask open-ended questions you’d like me to answer.
— Commissions & Plans —
I'm just about done with my commission queue. I'm on the last commission from the batch. As I mentioned last check-in, I'll open for a YCH. I plan to do that very soon, like today or tomorrow. I want to give people about 2 weeks to bid on it, which is more than the 1 week I usually give. After the YCH, I will open up for another batch of regular commissions, so you can expect those to open in a couple weeks from now.
GHS3 is about 2/3 sketched and about 1/3 colored. There will be about 18 pages in the end. This comic has been on hold because I'm recently trying a lot of new stuff, experimenting, and I'm also busy with general life things like traveling to get dental work.
Warden and I are still working out the details on our comic. We're right at the precipice of beginning the art production of the comic. When comics are commissioned from me, I tend to work on them faster than personal projects, so that one should hopefully move faster than GHS3.
— Ideas —
Boy have I had some ideas lately! I've been experimenting making 2-character sketch commissions lately. I generally know that I want to make a rate of $50 per hour, so I try to limit how long these 2-character sketches take to just 1 hour to maintain that rate, and it's going super well! I'll likely find a way to offer that soon. Might be a Patreon exclusive thing, but not sure.
I've been organizing my notes on backgrounds lately. I've drawn my BGs so many different ways over the years, using a variety of techniques. Some of them take over an hour to make and look amazing, some of them take over an hour and look just okay, some take very little time and look great, and so on. I want the BGs to look as good as I can make them and take as little time as possible. For that, I need to be consistent, so I can have a concrete process with steps to make consistently good BGs. You'll see what I mean soon hopefully.
PMB story writing is still on a bit of hiatus atm until I finish GHS3. Hard to find the right motivation to work on a comic that won't bring in any money until it's done. >.<
— General Updates —
I've been killing it lately. I have been drawing so much and getting so much better. Honestly just draw all the time. Gaming can almost entirely shove off for me right now, drawing is where it's at. I was on some really good streak a few weeks ago. Since traveling back to the US after getting my dental work done, I haven't been as active with drawing, but still enough that my progress is not slowing down. So yeah, feeling good about my activity lately.
Oh right, the policy update!
I held back, watched, observed, saw how things unfolded with the FA policy update. I hung out in the discord server reading feedback. Doesn't seem like they're backing down about the policy change, so I just sent in a ticket requesting a gallery review. Actually I asked them to review about 37 individual submissions and tell me if they'd violate the upload policy. Based on how they rule on those submissions, I'll remove posts that look similar to those submissions.
I'm already certain any form of Lantha that isn't tall anthro won't be allowed, but I'm still asking them. My earliest Mila art probably can't stay. My earliest Buttons art also probably can't stay. My characters have evolved as my art style has changed over the years, so one pic with Milachu might be fine, but another might not, so I asked about several different kinds of posts featuring the same character for that reason.
My ultimate goal is to remain on FA, while also allowing anyone to find my art on some kind of gallery-based website.
It's for this reason that I just created an Itaku account. I've heard people like InsomniacOvrLrd and Nine-Volt has set up Itaku accounts, so I wanted to join them and try it myself. We'll see how that goes!
I'll go ahead and drop links to all my profiles here so you can find me anywhere:

My ultimate goal is to remain on FA, while also allowing anyone to find my art on some kind of gallery-based website.
It's for this reason that I just created an Itaku account. I've heard people like InsomniacOvrLrd and Nine-Volt has set up Itaku accounts, so I wanted to join them and try it myself. We'll see how that goes!
I'll go ahead and drop links to all my profiles here so you can find me anywhere:

May 2023 Check-in
Posted 2 years agoHeya there~
Just wanna do another lil check-in. More updates on:
- the state of my commission queue & what I plan to work on
- what I’m thinking of working on
- any other updates
- and let any of you all ask open-ended questions you’d like me to answer.
— Commissions & Plans —
Of my current commission batch, I’ve completed 4 and 5 need to be completed now. I plan on getting the remaining 5 done in the next 2 weeks. One of the commissions I finished just got posted (Indoor Bird Watching). Another one I finished is an animated version of a commission I made last year, and I’m really proud of this animated commission. :3
After I finish my current commission queue, I will probably open for another YCH. I got a good rough draft of the idea already. I just need to clean it up and slap the starting bid and min increase numbers on it.
GHS3 is slowly coming along. I rough drafted more pages, and just finished coloring page 4 last night. Hoping to get more work done on that later today!
I also finished the story boarding for Warden’s comic finally. I felt like that was taking forever to get done. I started out the same way I normally do for comics by writing out the exact panel-by-panel contents of each page, but at some point realized that this comic has way more pages in it than my standard short comic commission. Therefor, I switched to just writing out what’s generally going to happen on each page. I don’t know how many pages we’ll have in the end, but it’s likely going to be over 20, maybe even 30! All depends on how we move forward from here, since I sent the story draft off for Warden to review~
— Ideas —
I’m still thinking about making animations, like I said last check-in. Before I can get to those, I want to work on my personal comic Pushing my Buttons. I at least want to write out the story up to the end of Buttons’ college experience, and then draw some more pages. Once I’ve done that, I’ll feel good to move on and make some animations for a bit before I go back and work on that comic some more.
And before I can work on the PMB comic, I want to finish GHS3. Now that I’m finished coming up with a story for Warden’s comic start-to-finish, the rest is just sorting out what’s already on the table, so I have more mental room to plan the PMB comic now when I’m not drawing GHS3.
— General Updates —
Last check-in, I mentioned coming back from a break and getting back to work. I actually found it hard to focus on drawing for a while there, so commissions were hard to get done. I realized the problem was that I straight-up hadn’t drawn much at all while I was off for 2 weeks. Drawing is like a muscle. If you intend to do it a lot, you have to make yourself do it at least a little bit on regular intervals. Like, I shouldn’t have dropped drawing altogether while taking time off. I should have at least kept up with drawing to a minimum degree, like making 1 or 2 small doodles each day. Cuz trying to draw again after basically not doing it much at all for 2 weeks was ROUGH. I had no drive. I was more interested in gaming. I had to peel myself away from gaming entirely just to get back on my drawing grind. And now I feel much better about that.
I am really enjoying my Patreon being NSFW again. I’m able to make early access posts, and post teasers to Twitter. I’ve gotten more supporters right away since making the switch.
I’m currently in Colombia for dental reasons once again. This time is for getting another brace attached to a tooth that’s crooked. They couldn’t attach the brace before because it was in an awkward position, but now my teeth have moved from the other braces, and it can finally get a brace put on to move it into place. Also getting a general checkup, cleaning, and cavities being addressed.
Oh have you guys heard FA is updating their policy on pokemon and digimon content? Apparently they’re going to remove content featuring characters from those franchizes and similar ones if the character has a certain body type. Like not just if the pokemon is canonically young, but if the pokemon just LOOKS young, they’ll remove it. I heard this policy won’t be in effect until July 1st. I’ve heard a lot of other pokemon artists are worried about this. I don’t blame them tbh.
I’m pretty sure a lot of my content will be dis-allowed from FA due to this policy. I am waiting to see what happens for a bit first. But if you see some of my content on FA start to be removed in the next 4-6 weeks, you’ll know why. I will try to keep my FA, so I will remove whatever I need to stay on the website.

I have 4 commissions in the WIP stage right now, and like 6 others I haven't started on yet. I'll get right back to work on those soon, and then open for commissions as normal more than likely (probably in 3-4 weeks from now.
I am also still working on the Glory Hole Stories 3 comic. I haven't made much progress since last journal because I was on break, but I now have 3 of the 18 planned pages colors, and I'm working on page 4.
I'm working with 2 people for 2 different comics right now. One is with StormySparkler and the other is with PathWarden. Both are going to be amazing in the end, and I look forward to them being completed. :3
The comic for Stormy is on a little hiatus at the moment, but we plan to resume work on the comic as soon as we're both ready again.
The comic for Warden is still in the writing phase because I want to make it extra good. I'm being a perfectionist on his comic, and I have so many ideas I want to use when making it.
— Ideas —
I'm thinking about making some animations. Now that I have planned out more than a few comics, and I know the time and effort I need to put into planning them out and then drawing them, I have wondered if animations would be a relatively quicker side thing I can make here and there. I see people like Canary and Whygena make good looking animations, and I think "oh I'd love to do stuff like that too"! The art program I use, Clip Studio Paint, has limited animation usage for the plan I subscribe to, but it's more than I need to make some simple loops. I think animations have the potential to be easier and faster to make than comic pages if I just make single frame-by-frame drawn loops. Making a 5 page comic can take a day of planning, then a couple weeks of work to draw - but I believe a simple animation loop can be made in a day or two and be just as rewarding. I've also had a couple voice actresses hit me up saying they'd do voice work for my art, and that really gave me some confidence, especially to make some animations. I can play those animated loops over and over in a video file, make some slight changes to the frames in alternate loops to add variation, add some sound effects, get some voice acting work, add a cum scene, and the animations can get really beefed up. I'm giving it serious consideration.
— General Updates —
I just got done taking a 2-week break, so I wasn't working on any drawing for a while. However, the work I got done before going on break was great! I'm starting to re-establish a better work flow using coffee and the time tracking app I mentioned before.
While I was on my break, I felt super lazy. I just did a lot of gaming at first, and that was fun, but it didn't feel fulfilling. And I could tell the solution wasn't that I need to do more drawing. I realized I'd let my place get kinda messy the past few months. I wasn't keeping up with it much. So I put on old episodes of a podcast I used to listen to and got to cleaning. Weed also helps with this because I can just zone out while I clean. The result is that I now feel way better about myself at the end of the day.
Very recently I just switched my Patreon from SFW back to NSFW again. Patreon told me in December 2020 that Nintendo sent a DMCA over my account there, so I stopped posting pokemon there and even made an original mouse design for Mila so I could keep drawing her and post her on Patreon. But then in January 2021, Patreon said "actually, while we're here..." and they told me my content looked under-aged and that goes against their community guidelines and I'd have to remove it. Pretty much all of it. They said Buttons looked cub, and also they didn't allow inter-species stuff (like humans and bipedal furries, or bipedal furries and quadrupeds, etc) so stuff with Mila and humans or other anthro characters had to go. I got frustrated and felt super limited by all of this. I considered moving to Subscribestar, switching my Patreon to SFW, or using something like Fanbox. I chose to remain on Patreon as a SFW artist and see how things would be if I just used it as a tipjar, since I couldn't use it to post early access NSFW content.
After doing this for the past 2 years, I have improved my art skills, and also experienced unexpected issues in running a SFW Patreon as an adult artist. I think my anthros like Buttons should be fine by Patreon's standards now. I won't be able to post size-diff content because it may look like "inter-species", but I draw a wider range of stuff now and I don't believe it will be a huge issue. The unexpected issues I ran into were: 1) that the private Patreon discord had to be completely sterile too, so I mainly just used the public NSFW server instead; 2) once my content started to improve, and I had a NSFW piece of art that I could actually post on a NSFW Patreon, I couldn't just post it as early access anymore since I was set to SFW. In order to go from NSFW to SFW, I had to submit a request and have my account reviewed, so it's not a simple matter of flipping a switch on or off. Going from SFW to NSFW though is way different, that one actually is just a switch. But once you flip it on and your account becomes NSFW, you can't unflip it without getting your account reviewed.
Now that my Patreon is NSFW again, I look forward to being able to post some content as early access again and give my subscribers more of a reward for supporting me.
While I was taking these past 2 weeks off, I worked on the SFW Buttons comic "Pushing my Buttons". I came up with several good ideas, and started stitching the story beats together by adding more interesting moments of interaction between characters. So for those of you who have read the 3 pages I made back in 2021 and look forward to more, I hope you're glad to know I'm picking this project back up. :3

March 2023 Check-in
Posted 2 years agoHeya there~
Just wanna do another lil check-in. More updates on:
- the state of my commission queue & what I plan to work on
- what I’m thinking of working on
- any other updates
- and let any of you all ask open-ended questions you’d like me to answer.
— Commissions & Plans —
So I said in my last journal I said I was using Trello to help me plan my work again and it was super useful for me. But for a lot of February and early March here lately, I haven’t been nearly as productive, despite still using Trello. I’m not entirely sure why, but I have a few culprits.
- First is that I haven’t been streaming. Streams are usually how I force myself to sit down and work on commissions for a few hours.
- Second is that I’m in a different environment right now. I’ve been house-sitting and dog-sitting for fam the past couple weeks.
- Third is that I haven’t been drinking as much coffee lately. In January I pretty much quit coffee because it was causing me headaches and emotional problems (the caffeine created a mental fight-or-flight anxiety response that I didn’t recognize). But after some experiments where I had some coffee again and I got a lot of work done quickly, I’m starting to believe it will be somewhat necessary for commission-work reasons.
I will change one factor at a time and see what works. First thing I’ll try doing is re-introducing some small amount of coffee to help me get my work done. I’ve been tracking my work using a time-tracking app for the past week, so I’ll keep using that instead of streaming for the coming week.
Commission requests just closed. I’ll be sending an email to everyone who applied so that everyone gets feedback this time.
— Ideas —
Since last I journaled, I’ve made thumbnails for 11 of the 18 pages that will be in the Glory Hole Stories 3 comic, plus sketched a title page. Also I colored the title page and page 1 of the comic. That’s coming along great! I’m thinking about how to distribute it, because art is my job and I need to eat. I’m thinking about selling the comic on gumroad or something (I set a price on the site, each person who wants to read it pays the price, and then they get reading access to the entire comic). I’ve never sold a comic like that before and I’d love to try it out.
I’ve been hanging out in Braeburned’s streams lately, and man.. watching him make comics is inspiring to me. One of these days I am gonna get a drawing from him, or at least get one of my characters featured somewhere.
Oh! And there’s this really helpful artist I’ve been seeing videos of lately. He makes short tutorials on how to draw different kinds of things. I highly recommend checking out some of his videos!

— General Updates —
I finally uploaded the unposted pages from the comic with Rod and Buttons (lol)! Took forever but I did it. I still have a lot of other drawings to upload to FA/IB, but I’m not too worried about when I post them. The half-posted comic was the main thing bothering me.
My birthday was on the 22nd of February and I got a lot of birthday wishes from people, and I really appreciate everyone who came to wish me a special day - thank you! ^^

February 2023 Check-in

— Commissions & Plans —
Last month was super productive and went great for me! I started using Trello again to plan out my work, and it helped me get a lot done. I don’t think I could overstate how useful it was to start planning out my work like that - and all I did was just add dates to the end of my commissions and projects saying when to work on them, and then did that.
I finished the YCH auction piece, did a 2-page sketch comic for IGull, finished like 4 pages of a sketch comic for Stormy, and made 2 full-render comic pages for Nivi, and more small stuff! So yeah last month went pretty well for me.
Currently commissions are closed. They were open for a week recently. Those are closed now and I’m already working on the batch from people who immediately paid for theirs. I got 2 of the 8 completed on the first week so far, which is the ideal work pace! If I stay on-track, I’ll open up for commissions again in 2 weeks from now when I’m on the last 2.
— Ideas —
I have already moved forward with the Glory Hole Stories Part 3 idea! It’s exactly as I wrote about last week. The entire comic has all the panels written out already, I just need to make the thumbnails and color them. I’m excited to be working on another personal project again after so long! I think the last one I did was the “Maybe I Can Help You” comic featuring Lantha and a faceless human male, unless you count the series with Mila and Lantha hanging out with Buttons in his cafe after hours, but that was just an image series.
(Speaking of the Lantha comic, I think I also forgot to post the last page or two of that, so add that to the list of things I still need to post)
After I finish GHS3, I’d like to finally move on with the sfw comic Pushing my Buttons. It’s been on the back-burner for a long time now and I want to give it the attention it deserves this year. My style has changed a bit, and I definitely won’t use the exact same style as the first 3 pages that are already up, but I’ll come up with something kinda close to it that I can do over and over for the rest of the comic and have it still feel like it all works together.
I’m also thinking about doing animation more. I’m pretty rooted into doing comics right now, but I also really want to try animating more properly in the future. Get sound effects, voice actresses, multiple scenes (like some of my previous work), but all with my art style as it exists today. I think I’d be pretty good at it!
— General Updates —
I ended up not moving like I mentioned in the last journal. The short story is the new place became suddenly unlivable lol. So might be a while longer before I can move.
And yes I realize my gallery is still not updated as I write this. I need to sit down for a couple hours some day soon and just upload all my unposted work. A lot of the stuff I mentioned above in the commissions section that I finished last month hasn’t been posted here. And on top of that, I still need to post the rest of the comic with Rod.
— Feedback —
If you have any feedback you’d like to give or questions you’d like answered, feel free to ask. Suggestions, technical stuff, how I do certain things, if I’m okay with something, anything.
Just wanna do another lil check-in. More updates on:
- the state of my commission queue & what I plan to work on
- what I’m thinking of working on
- any other updates
- and let any of you all ask open-ended questions you’d like me to answer.
— Commissions & Plans —
January 2023 Check-in
Posted 3 years agoHeya there~
Just wanna do another lil check-in. More updates on:
- the state of my commission queue & what I plan to work on
- what I’m thinking of working on
- any other updates
- and let any of you all ask open-ended questions you’d like me to answer.
— Commissions & Plans —
I finished my commission queue that I started back in October (god I feel so slow lol). Well at least all the small ones. There's technically one more I'm half way done working on right now and that's 2 full-color comic pages. They're a lot of work but feel incredibly rewarding to finish.
Right now I'm working on the comic commission I mentioned in the last check-in. This one is gonna involve Mila pikachu and M'Lady (her mom the raichu) and a lucky third. It's also different from the comic pages I mentioned above, because these are going to just be colored sketches as opposed to full-render with detailed shading and stuff. I generally make sketch-comics by doing low-detailed rough draft sketches of all the pages first to plan things out, and then refine and color the pages. I finished all 12 of the rough drafts of this comic's pages last week. Now all I have to do is color them.
Also right now I am working on coloring the YCH auction piece I posted a week ago. I think the auction went well and I already have an idea for the next one.
I will likely open for another batch of normal commissions soon after I get the YCH, the full-render comic commission, and a few of the sketch-comic commission pages done. That might be towards the end of the this month.
I realize I've been under-charging people for full-anthros. Cuz I charge people the same amount for small pikachu-sized characters as tall full-body anthros, even though the anthros take much more time. So I'm basically working harder for no additional pay. I will likely start to charge people more for anthros starting this next batch to make up for that extra time I have to spend drawing them.
Also yes I noticed I still haven't posted the remaining pages of the Barista Blowjob comic lol. I will do that, I promise.
— Ideas —
I'm still interested in making a personal comic project again soon. It's likely going to be a simple bathroom glory hole scene with Mila mouse; I only have to draw the one character and she's really fun and easy to draw. If so, I might just call it Glory Hole Stories Part 3, and really lean into detailing the bathroom stall with stain marks and graffiti to make it look really nice. Whatever I end up making, it might be just a sketch comic since full-render comic pages take ages to finish.
— General Updates —
I'm actually in the middle of moving right now. Not moving far, and rent will be basically the same, so that's good! Just wanted to put that out there because I might be a bit slower with my art for a while.

December 2022 Check-in
Posted 3 years agoHey, Mila here~
I felt like doing a bit of a check-in to share:
- the state of my commission queue & what I plan to work on
- what I’m thinking of working on
- any other updates
- and let any of you all ask open-ended questions you’d like me to answer.
— Commissions & Plans —
I opened for a batch of 8 slots in October. I’ve finished 6 of the 8 now. I may very likely open for more soon. I plan on either opening another batch for custom commission slots or try another YCH, I’m not sure which yet.
I just noticed I haven’t uploaded the rest of the Barista Blowjob comic commission to FA and IB yet. If I find time, I will post the rest of that soon, as it is now completed with 12 pages total.
I now have another comic commission project in the works. I should be posting the pages for that starting this month or next month.
— Ideas —
I might start another personal comic project soon. I’ve been thinking about doing something classic - something with Mila at a glory hole. But I’d be using new art skills I’ve picked up to do it justice.
I’m on the fence about using pikachu Mila or mouse Mila. Pikachu Mila would fit the “classic Mila” vibe, but I also enjoy seeing her mouse form because I constructed it myself. It’s my own style and design I made after learning from drawing pikachus and other characters over the years. I’m kinda proud of it. Also, I’m not supposed to post pokemon to certain websites, so I wouldn’t be able to show the stuff I create everywhere if I used pikachu Mila.
I’m not opposed to drawing pikachu Mila on occasion for one-off personal drawings or commissions, but I might not use her chu form for big projects over my own design.
— General Updates —
Like I mentioned, my art style has gotten a massive upgrade this year in my opinion. I started documenting my art processes heavily this year like how I draw certain things such as backgrounds and objects, tools I use, certain brushes, techniques, all that. I’ve even considered posting a series of short videos to help other artists by showing my processes.

Schedule Update, Stream moved to Saturday
Posted 4 years agoThe calendar file has been updated if you check it.
The 19th of May stream will be moved to Saturday the 22nd of May and will happen later. I haven't done a Saturday stream in a long time and I miss them, also this may be a good chance to see me stream if you miss most of my streams due to scheduling.

Where to find me
Posted 5 years agoIn my last journal, I said I would be using Twitter more often after Tumblr imploded with its anti-nsfw policy. I didn't get a chance to tell people where else to find me, back up my posts, or anything else. Just... POOF... gone.
I think it would be wise for me to let you all know where else you can find me in case something were to occur like that again.

Mainly using Twitter now~
Posted 6 years agoHey come check me out on Twitter! It's like, the new Tumblr for me. :3
I plan on doing this thing called Curiouscat which is like the equivalent to "ask" on Tumblr as I understand it.
Also on Twitter you can see if I post life updates and I post art there a whole lot more frequently too.
Even if you don't have account, you shouldn't need to. You can just bookmark my page and look at it sometimes~

Commission Slots [Closed]
Posted 7 years agoI know journals aren't as flashy, but it's just a convenient way for my to test out doing slots for my first time.
So I realize what the problem was with commissions. It's that I tried to take on too much all at once and couldn't handle the big influx of requests I got. So then they backed up and I only JUST NOW finished my list which had people on it from 2017. Big fat OOF!
The solution (I hope) is in doing slots! My prices have slightly increased since I am trying to make doing art my job, and I am SO CLOSE to making that happen! I hope you will understand my position. >.<
Prices >> http://www.furaffinity.net/view/20779379/
How my slots will work is simple: just leave a comment saying you want one (like: I want one!), and if I reply to you and say that you got it, then you send me a note here on FA (nowhere else) with your paypal e-mail and all the details of your commission.
And please let me know every little detail, because I will invoice you and not start until I get the invoice paid. Send me references to the poses and characters you want so I know how you want it. And you only have 5 days after I send it to pay or I will move to the next person who commented. oAo
I plan to open up about 6 slots publicly each month. So I plan on making slot posts around the beginning of each month. Watch for them. :3
Commissions are limited to no more than 3 or 4 characters if colored (depending on how difficult the designs are). No multiple page comic commissions, keep it to one page please. uwu
For testing, I'm doing these following slots for the rest of this month. I'm opening 6 right now and right here!
[1] - Joshy
[2] - pikachu1234
[3] - chocochu
[4] - seraphon
[5] - pikajota
[6] - yingpingu
First come, first serve~

Rewards and What's goin on. o3o
Posted 8 years agoIf you like keeping up with me, here is a bunch of stuff I'd like to share. (Warning: Boring!)
Comic Stuff!
Where is the comic? :V
I've been feeling sick, a bit uninspired, and really busy with school lately. I tried to balance commissions, personal art, and the comic all at once and it all crashed like dropping an armful of plates. ;_;
New Ideas!
I'm thinking about switching to doing a more personal comic, or opening up my weekly comic pages to being for either comic so I can do whichever I feel like. I will poll my supporters on Patreon for this! :3
No Career Yet! oAo
I said art would be my career after my $200 per page milestone on Patreon, but I slowly lost traction. That's sort of why I feel uninspired. I love those of you who are still supporting me though! You have all kept me from dropping everything and reverting to a hobbyist again. So for all of you, and myself, I'm gonna keep going! :D
Rewards!
I might make a little cute card for my rewards on Patreon. :3c
I want to entice you guys and people new to me to donate by offering better rewards. If you have any ideas, let me know! I'll take your suggestions. Just please don't feel bad if I don't use them. ^w^''

Commission Update 2
Posted 8 years agoThis is a very important update. ;w;
So recently I have checked back messages after having recently finished one of my school courses, since I got the time to.
I will be making very strong attempts to answer back much more frequently now since I am re-working my system.
The reason this is so important is because after checking messages, I realized I have a very large queue of commissions to complete. In accordance with this, and after speaking with a few friends, I have determined that I should increase my prices. This will be a small-to-modest increase.
Please know that this is not for me to "just make more money". A basic law of economics is that increasing price lowers demand. I know I will get less requests because of it, but I will ultimately be in a position where I will have less commissions to have to keep up with and I can exhaust my commission list much faster, satisfying more clients~
Please try to understand that this is something I have to do to speed things up, but also make sure that I'm making what I should be for my time. ;A;
As a growing artist, steady price increases are a steady way to transition.
New commission prices will be updated on the sheet soon and are as follows:
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/20779379/
Sketches: $15
Extra Characters: $10 each
Backgrounds: $5 - $10
Colored: $30
Extra Characters: $10 each
Backgrounds: $5 - $10
Comic pages: These vary widely in price. The base price is as it would be for a full drawing, and the number of panels and zoom in each one is used for pricing.
Yes, these will be affecting everyone on my list currently who I have not gotten to yet. I have not accepted payment from pretty much anyone yet. If you would like to be removed from the list because of my price increase, I understand.

Yes, these will be affecting everyone on my list currently who I have not gotten to yet. I have not accepted payment from pretty much anyone yet. If you would like to be removed from the list because of my price increase, I understand.

Art is my Career now! And Updates
Posted 8 years agoI need to post something just to help me organize things and also let you all know how I'm doing. =w=
Things have been good on my end. Thanks to your support on Patreon, I'm certainly doing this as my career now! I still can't thank you all enough for the support, no matter if you're a patron or not.
Comic now Priority
I recently held a poll and asked around to see what I should be doing weekly, and almost unanimously people voted that I put focus on my Glory Hole Stories comic. Well, guess what you get to see more of now. :3
Patreon Rewards and Goals
I updated my goals on Patreon to reflect how I really feel and added a 300 goal where I will offer more rewards. Speaking of rewards! I have refined the 50 tier and removed the part about role-playing because I keep getting messages from people wanting to pay me just to role-play. I don't feel right about people donating to me mostly for the rewards. If I ever feel like it, I can just sell my time for role-playing as a side thing. >w>
Commissions
If you have sent me a private message and I haven't gotten back to you yet, please give me a bit more time. I'm still sorting out how I respond to everyone and still do art without getting overworked. Once I get to your messages, this list will be updated:
- J.Long
- TB636
- Festive
- Dust
- Choco
- Habuki
- Sylver
- Wheeler
- Cherry
...
As a footnote, I'm thinking about making another ad to post on FA and e621 linking to my Patreon. A lot of people find me through e621, so it would make sense to advertise there~

Thank You so much, and Announcements
Posted 8 years agoFirst, if you came here through my ad, let me welcome you to my page! :D
I'd like to take a moment to thank all of my donors on Patreon for the support you've given me. I've been investing a lot of my time into this and you all really make things pay off in the end, so thank you. <3
We achieved my first two goals already, and I'm working my way slowly up to my final goal, which is to be self-sufficient with my art and make it my career! ;w;
Also, let me take this time to thank all of the new followers I've been getting from ads and finding me in general. Come for the art, stay for me. Then come for me. ;3
Something I'd like to bring up is that I'm going to be doing a lot more sfw material to keep up with doing speed paints. I am a Pokemon artist after all, and so you'll be seeing me experiment and draw other species in my art from now on and not just my own characters!
Lastly, I'm going to post my commission list so you know where you might fit in my schedule if you happen to be waiting. Thank you for commissioning art from me. c:
(Note, I did have to edit the list because of a complication)
1. Typhlosionboy [on-hold]
2. DustFalconMLP
3. Tyrrainchu
4. Private
5. Notchu
6. DustFalconMLP
7. J. Long
8. TB636
9. Festive

Artist Overhaul! Patreon and more. :3
Posted 8 years agoHello everyone~
You're going to need some context first:
I'm planning on posting speed paints every week on YouTube and Patreon. I will do one every week and that's really going to help with production~
So I'm gonna be updating my Patreon soon to charge per SUBMISSION instead of per MONTH.
What this means is that when I post these weekly speed paints, any of you who are pledged to me will only be charged when I actually get my butt to work on making stuff. You'll be rewarding me for doing my work and only when I do it. x3
Another note is that I'll be re-introducing Patreon rewards, ones that I can actually honor much easier and which you might be interested in having~
Such will include:
- Sketches and lineworks
- WIP files
- Raffles
- and Private Streams
Commission prices will be updated soon as well and I will officially announce them as open~
If you are already a Patron (I have 5, so shouldn't be a huge worry) be sure to change your donation amount to what you think I deserve every time I post something. And if you aren't a patron, I'll be announcing when this change happens and promoting my Patreon page and hopefully I'll earn your support! <3

Update
Posted 9 years agoIf any of you have been wondering where I've been, the conbination of work for money and school work has left me with no free time.
Seriously, barely any time to even answer asks, let alone draw. I will return some time after the new year. Thank you all for still supporting me! <3
