Computer Trouble of Sorts...help?
Posted 17 years agoIt's not a huge problem, but it's really something I'm baffled by and need to fix.
I upgraded a little while back to an 8800 GT and 4gb OCZ RAM, in order to better run games that are coming out more recently.
I've had this feeling for a while now though that my computer as a whole really isn't running as well as it could, and I'm at a loss on how to fix it. I've tried everything I know, and practically confirmed its subpar performance when talking to a friend who plays WAR beta with me...his computer has an older CPU, older series graphics card, and yet on a higher resolution such his frame rates and performance are better than mine...
I've checked for malware, registry errors, spyware, viruses, all that, and simply cannot figure out what's bogging it down.
Edit: Lol found the problem...posted it in a comment on this. Doing a bit of searching for a new mobo and processor, have some in mind but plan on making sure about my choices with a few people.

Posted 17 years agoI'd just like to thank everyone who has recently watched, faved or commented on recent commissions I've been able to post. I'd rather have thanked everyone back with a comment, since I enjoy getting to know people on here, but work and college have kept me a little busier lately. (And I won't lie...open beta for WAR has comsumed a fair bit of time too x3)
Hopefully I'll be able to support more commissions in the future, getting to know and talk with some of these artists I've watched has been fun, and I'd like to think they enjoyed the ideas I gave in my commissions. Should have a few more pics coming sometime soon hopefully!

College can be pretty boring...
Posted 17 years agoNothing really amazing to say, mostly wanted something to push the older journal down a bit.
I was only able to take two classes this semester, and they're both gonna be easy in their own way...the first because it's Math and sadly still mostly review from what I learned in high school...the second because I've taken the teacher a few times for history classes, know what to expect and prepare for, as well as enjoying his classes.
I'm trying to get as many hours as I can at work to get a few commissions and upgrade my PC, but retail is horrid and so is the way our scheduling works. I'm sure I'll get good hours from late November until Christmas...but that's still more than two months away...so here's to hoping I get decent hours until then.
Just upgraded to 4g of OCZ RAM and an 8800gt...it's nice to finally have a computer with which you can see 3dmark's tests actually work on...they're pretty impressive stress tests once you see just how much is going on in them. Next up will hopefully be a better motherboard and processor, likely to be an Intel dual core processor since most of my friends have had goo experiences with them.
That's all for now...I'll probably be consumed by Warhammer once it comes out...hopefully it will have a fairly good start and people won't give up on it really quickly.

Poor guy was only 50. He was a pretty good comedian and I enjoyed him in the Ocean's movies. I don't really have much to say aside from being a bit shocked. Granted...people die every day, just seems a bit odd, doesn't seem like it was long ago at all the George Carlin passed away, and now another comedian bites the dust...

Posted 17 years agoWas too damn lazy to post about FA being up last night, seeing as how plenty of people had done so already, figured I'd post one now that the influx of journals have slowed up a bit.
Glad to see FA back up, it's nice having this place to browse again whilst bored.
Going to be looking for a couple of commissions...dunno how much I'm looking to spend or how many I want to get, but I'm gonna try to get a variety of artists. I'm also planning on revamping my characters, since they were, for the most part, they were pretty thrown together and I just gave them a few markings with a base meaning behind them.
So hopefully in the next few months I'll be able to show people some nice characters and get to know some more artists and friends alike. What's really going to dictate how many commissions I can get are going to be based on how much money I'm going to have in my account after college classes and books are all paid for. That said...if you know an artist who has some deals with commissions going on, or they're just a friendly artist who won't mind working with some communication and character tweaking, plug them for me! Been busy with increased hours at work and studying for college, so I really haven't been commenting and browsin around as much as usual.
I figured I'd ask something random for the hell of it and see if people are as lazy as me, so...

Me? It's funny that you can delete them all to more easily see when you get new messages...but nah, not me...I rarely do that. Instead I rarely delete shit and just remember "oh...last time I looked it was only at 300 submissions...looks like I have new ones to look at."
Right now there's a combined 1012 messages. Score.

Eight Random Facts
1. I am one of the pickiest eaters I know. I do not like red sauce, pizza, sandwiches, subs, barbecue, and other stuff.
2. I love herms...haha. Yeah it sounds pretty normal around FA and within the fandom...but I've told maybe 2 people about it outside of here, and don't plan on telling anyone else.
3. I do not mind the cold one bit. I'm often found wearing shorts and a short sleeve shirt all through winter. I have a hot body, literally, and people and girlfriends have told me that...lol
4. Umm...8 things, yeah can't think of shit. I'm sometimes boring, I'll go out with friends sure, but with a girlfriend I'd much rather chill, cuddle and be a goofball with them. Going out is great, cuddling is just :3
5. I'm left handed with almost everything, however, with guns (paintball/airsoft mostly) I prefer my right hand, and pistols are the bomb.
6. I've been nearly the same weight for over 3 years...somehow I can be extremely lazy, eat tons of junk food, and my metabolism will take care of it regardless.
7. I love running...not so much as I used to because I have some minor knee problems, but I wish I could have been able to stick with track and field.
8. I have many random dreams, but a recurring theme has been me versus some girl trying to kill me for some reason, me saving her life and her slowly falling in love with me. I don't know what the fuck is up with that xD

Posted 18 years agoWork has called me in on pretty much every on call shift, on my offtime I've been playing WoW for some fun again and getting college books ordered, start classes tomorrow.
I want to write something sooner or later, I just keep putting it off, somehow though I've been keeping the ideas pretty well organized in my head. Still, I haven't written any fiction in years, so even if I do write, it's going to feel and look subpar.
Anyway, once I get into a steady groove of college and work, I'll try and put something out there for people to read.
Other than that, life's been pretty boring, time just keeps passing by rather quickly. I can't believe it's almost halfway through January already. Hopefully this semester will go by quickly. Woo college!

This typing might suck though, I'm on a laptop and hate the keyboard - gotta wait for more parts to arrive to get my computer going again.
Been bored lately, since the comp is down I've been doing other stuff, so it's all good. Mario Tennis on the N64, lol. Fun game though. And some Jeanne D'arc game for PSP, a turn based RPG that's aight so far.
I should have my page spiced up with a submission or two in a month or so, maybe sooner. Hopefully I'll have a commission done soon, then I might look for another few, get my fursona and my other character drawn some. First pic is likely to be my herm though...already got it commission and really didn't know what my fursona would be until recently ^^
If anyone's read some of my stuff here and is bored enough to respond, not that there's much info on me...but what would you see my fursona as? =P

Wanted one to be able to do college work on besides just sitting at my computer. Mostly so I can relax, and browse the internet and maybe put a game or two on.
On another note, blarg for games still in open beta lol. Guess they're in open beta for a reason though. It didn't save the screenshots that I took of a certain monster that I wanted to post on here.
If you've ever played Fiesta, made by Outspark, you might know what I want to have posted. Was a Tomb Fox. Cool lookin pink furry fox thing that if I were able to draw, I'd draw in a heartbeat. Seems like such a cool and fun thing to draw ^^ Gonna try screenshots again later, hopefully I can give people something to look at on my page rather than walls of text that it currently is =P

Ever underestimate things?

Was bored today, and hadn't had much college work to deal with, so I sat here for a while looking for the artists I liked, and found more I didn't know about.
That's not quite the point of writing this though...I'm glad to have actually made an account and actually start attempting to do something with it. This time around rather than primarily just looking for art I enjoy, I'm actually reading their userpages and seeing just how different, unique and interesting so many people are on here.
It'll be good fun if I get lucky enough to get to know some of those whose art I've admired for quite some time.
