Just realised I've not posted a journal update in almost a whole year, so thought I'd maybe put one as... well... an update. And also to replace the last one that's very much out of date.

Hopstipal went fine enough, been good this year. Confuzzled in May was good; was fantastic to meet up with friends there again who I only get to see there and hadn't seen since pre pandemic.

Met a different group of' strangers off the internet' in November, which was also fun, though totally different group and nothing furry related.

Got myself all booked up and room sharing with an awesome macro fenn-friend for Confuzled next year, and really looking forward to that! - and will post another thing relating to that after Christmas.

And now... is almost Christmas, and so also almost my Birthday yet again, being the Christmas fox that I am. The month's kinda flown by.

Well, I went in for a hernia repair op today...

Was in the hospital at 7:30am, in the theatre at I think maybe 11am, out and waking at about I think maybe 1-1:30pm and in recovery at 2-ish... but couldn't pee after like 5hrs of trying (from 4ish) and 2 jugs of water (and a tuna-mayo sandwich), I've had to have a catheter fitted.

Mostly just glad it's done. Feeling a bit bleh from the anaesthetic, and the catheter sucks (also means no hornies for a few weeks too, which is likely to be un-fun in and of itself) but I tried kinda everything and it's sorta needed, so... it is what it is.

Again, just glad to be back home really now. And now just wondering how I'm gonna cope with 'the dogs' at night, and just sleeping in general with the bag.

So, I have a possibility of a possibility and an offer: Would anyone be interested in sharing a twin room at cfconvention this year? I'd need a confirmation before the 11th though.


edit: after a number of yeses and nos, I now have a roomshare and am fully booked and reg'd for Confuzzled.

Do try to remember that climbing 50-60 feet of fur or cloth, or relative distances, gets more difficult over time. Not a cub any more, that's for sure!

I'm wanting to have a poster for the Macro/Micro meet for Confuzzled.

Mostly, something generic would be great, to be potentially used each year. Likely of course something with Brok, possibly also  DCuk,  gojiza, [at]Dackson_Turner on Twitter(not active on here for a while) and myself'd be very nice (Though Brok is more important there)

Otherwise, also something in-keeping with the theme for the year'd be awesome if anyone'd want to do that too.

Whilst anyone willing to do this for the events without charge would be lovely (possibly to auction off a print there), I am both able and willing to pay for this art, of course. My pockets don't run very deep, but any offers are greatly appreciated.


Also, would like a room-sign!

Ideally, I'd like someone who's attended at the Hilton due to the nature of my idea; which'd require knowing what the single-rooms look like. Wanting pretty much something to look like a hole in the door with the inside of the room through it, with Misty either having set-up camp in there, or him stood in the hole, looking out, or just exploring the room in some way.

So, Confuzzled's done; the macro/micro meet happened on Sunday (26th) at 3pm in Terrace. And so how did it go from my perspective?

Before I get to the actual meet itself I'm going to provide a little context and backstory. So, the previous 2 years, the macro/micro meet had been in Colonial, across the hall which was fine, but we'd get a bottleneck around where the buildings etc... would go for stomping, which was difficult for both fursuiters and others just wanting to move to and from that area at the back end of the room.
This was the main reason I'd asked for Terrace, which, on the map, looks a little bigger, but just with being a bit wider. Well, it turned out it's quite a good bit bigger (only by 1/3 on paper, but there's a wide raised section in Colonial that's got railing around it, so the usable space is easily double).

With all of that, I'd been a little worried as we were setting up that it might feel a little bit too empty with the numbers we'd had the previous year.

I was... wrong. By the gods was I ever wrong! That was a lot of people in that room! But, it was also awesome to see so, so many turn up.

What, some of you may wonder, happened with my carefully construed plan of events? Well... imagine trying to tell fursuiters 'don't play with that thing for 90 minutes!'. Now try to imagine telling macros that same thing. Combine them. Imagine being a micro and trying to tell macrofurs to not stomp the fun stompy-houses for 90 minutes. That didn't work. That said, they were very, very good for as long as they could. In-fact, the first breakage wasn't even a suiter. It was someone sat on a chair by them getting up and not looking where they were putting their feet.

Lots of fun was had, houses were stomped, buildings were toyed with, shipping happened (There was a plush cruise-liner) and overall lots of fun was had, photos and videos got taken (here's the cue for those who took 'em to post links!) , and.. well, you'll see. As said, overall, everyone seemed to enjoy it, everyone so-far at least claims to have enjoyed it (if not, I apologise. If it's anything that can be possibly remedied, send me a note).

I did, of course, make sure to reserve a couple of houses for  Rogue

Also had a great time myself I should add! Was a lot, but was a lot of fun - in between checking on those houses (I kinda get how you macros can get to 'sod it' with how fragile they are at your size)!

My brain is already awhir for next year. I'm thinking I'll stick with Terrace if possible (there've been themey events there before, so is possible the con might plan to use it for something themselves) with a few tweaks to layout.


A few mentioned that the windows made it hot... we can consider either another alternate room, or just close the curtains and open the windows when we go in.

Well, things started out dramatically...

Was just on the train from Birmingham New Street to Birmingham International (10 minute last-leg journey for me), phone dead and a brief chat with a guy who was going home from studying made me realise that I'd somehow managed to forget my ID. After a quiet muttering of "Fuuuuck" and a minute of mental swearing, given there was nothing to be done at the moment, I just kept calm and went, checked into my hotel (was in the overflow. I'll get to that in a bit), then went over, phone and charger in my bag, trying to think of anything I could do. Spotted  Wolfool  yogoloth and others queueing for reg themselves and stopped to say hi and share my idiocy, and Wolfool happened to know that  Vorktheartist was due to arrive the next morning, and got me in touch (I'm old and am not good with keeping up with people on things). Fortunately, he was able to go pic my ID up and bring it the next morning on his way, so crisis was averted(or, at least, likely £40 and about 5-6hrs of more travelling to go back to get it myself) and I could relax.

Huge thanks again to  wolfool,  Vorktheartist for being awesome, and to  Kasaran and  Jezzabelle for offering thoughts/ideas and to see what could be done if need be (Jezz is on Reg team, known her for yeeeears. But nonetheless rules/policies-bound, as is right). And others for just being nice and helping. Spent that day hanging with  Wolfool  yogoloth  kasaran :Cookie-Dough: (whom I've also known for years - Along with  Jezzabelle, two of the first furs I ever met in person)  ryman754  Samohtfoxxtail and a couple of others whose names escape me (Sorry. despite how this seems, I'm genuinely awful at remembering names) and enjoying a cheeky Nandos in the evening which whilst delicious, did kinda fall apart (had a wrap).

As said, I was in the overflow,which meant walking. Only maybe 5-8 mins each way on my own (am a brisk walker for one so small when I'm on my own), so not a huge issue. Is a nice hotel, much as I'd rather still be in the main hotel, It did have its little perks. 1. the curtain over the bath split at the bottom so as to be both in and outside of the bath. Shroedinger's shower curtain if you will. Also, had a fresh bottle of water each morning, and a small 'fridge' which, whilst it was actually a chill-er(?) and required calling down to have turned on, and a charge afixed, it was cool still anyways, so was quite nice and handy.

One reg'ed the next morning, spent much of the con hanging with  Stampy  Alterflane  ZeeM  Meister_li and occasionally  Draconder and finally got to meet the hyooman behind  Misha who I've known online for *does mental maths* A long time. You don't need to know the numbers.

Played board games, wrote a bit (nothing finished, but should be able to finish both soon) whilst others drew, and generally had a good time and was my always 'delightfully' punny, bad joke-making self (Yes, I'm as bad irl as I am online).

Macro/Micro meet happened and I'll put a thing about that separately tomorrow (feel free to get photo lynx ready to put into the comments of that for those who attended...), but don't forget to give thanks to  DCuk  Dack49 (Dackson_turner on twitter) and  Gojiza for a lot of work into helping set up the room, as well as creating all of the stuff for the macros to break. Without them, it'd be less suity-smashy and more chatty-talky.

 Jym Saturday Night Travesy was fantastic, on its usual Monday night slot, even if it was lacking in foxes on the panels (Though congrats to  Hell-Badger on the win, and long may you treasure Eeeeeegg - especially since you won without resorting to bribery by dragon-dick like some other contestants).

So, for anyone interested, firstly, it'll be in Terrace, which is the room across the hall from Colonial, where we were the last 2 years. Terrace is similarly sized, but more square, which should prevent bottlenecking.

Ok, so apparently I've decided to try this; putting out at 'the furrywebs' to see who'd be up for doing what since I kinda want 3 badges for CFz.

I've nothing uber-specific in mind (more a few 'not this')

To put it very simply initially, I want 1 vidya-game, 1 Tabletop game and 1 Der-an-der (D&D (Dungeons and dragons))

Aspects that'd encompass all: Well, t'd be nice for them to be badges of me (Misty Crom), and,ideally, something with Misty being smol/tiny/micro.

Main things I'd say, with the video games one, Sega, PS1-2, or XBox-ness ideally (mostly kinda I've never owned a Nintendo. was in camp Sega as a kid in the 1990s, so I never got into Pokemon or Zelda... I've played an Mario game... was on a NES I think...) since those're systems I've ever owned. most likely something made-up, or racing, fighting/UFC, GTA/Skyrim-ey-games/Sea-of-thieves-is-neat as ideas. Table-top-ness... Ideally at least something modern(/modern-playing - since there's games form the mid 80s that play like modern games - Escape Atlantis, I'm looking at you)

Well, just a few days now I guess 'till I complete another lap around the sun.

So, I guess I'll be another yer older in... a bit under 2 weeks (11-12 days depending how you count it).


I reeeeally need to get going on present buying; barely made a dent in the list I need to buy for.

Ok, so I registered for Cfz and listed for a single in hopes for a block opening, but it's been a while and... well, frankly, it's nice to share anyways (with the right people), so I'm putting this out there to find anyone who'd be open to sharing a room with this little fox at Confuzzled 2018.

So, what sot of roomie am I and what sort of roomie do I want?

Well, I'm English, 30s, male... i don't smoke or drink. I don't snore... I tend to look at beign in bed by around 1-1:30ish at the latest for getting up for breakfast.

I've roomshared before - in-fact, ever not roomshared at Confuzzled since 2011. I've shared with males and an female roomie before, and am typically quite considerate of others privacy and whatnot.

As for the sort I'm looking for... well, kind of similar I guess? I've no issue with gender, age or whether or not you drink or smoke (smokers of the traditional variety... so long as you don't smoke in the room). Only real things are that I really cannot sleep with people who snore in the room, and ideally no-one who'll be stumbling into the room at 3 or 4 in the morning (later'n me is fine, s'long as you'd be quiet and not put the lights on)... Also, whilst I'm very much an each-to-their own kid of person, I'd prefer no adult-diapers or the like? If you're into that, then I apologise if that's at all offensive to you, but it's as it is.


I'll change my preferred room-type should I get responses that interest me, but keep on the single-room thing for now. I'll remove this journal if I get a single room.
