Birthday in 1 week!
Posted 9 years agoYup... Christmas day, it'll be my birthday!
Confuzzled 2017 Macro/Micro Events Stuff!
Posted 9 years agoOk, so I've submitted for a macro/micro group writing panel for Confuzzled 2017. There'll be a number of scenes, locales to choose from on the day for the thing, but they will need fleshing out a little bit (though likely not too much) before next May.
With that in mind, if anyone would like to contribute to that, or to the regular macro/micro panel, drop me your email address on here (Note maybe) or on the Twitters in a DM and I'll allow you access to the folders on my Google Drive. I'll likely send the sharing link to people as i add them in a straight reply.
You can view them otherwise at https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B.....mZ2cHVyQk1ZZjQ and https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B.....nhOMmpjencxYVU
Sharing should be on for viewing.

Birthday incoming in [5] weeks.
Posted 9 years agoWell, it's that time of year again where in-between everything else I have to start shopping for presents to get people to give them on my birthday on the 25th next month.
Confuzzled 2017 Events News!
Posted 9 years agoFirst of all, I've submitted for the Macro/Micro event. I actually did so a week or two ago, just forgot to put here... life's been... busy.
No idea when it'll be scheduled for, but i asked for it to be around when it was last year and have asked for a slightly larger room.
Also, and more newsworthy is that I will also be doing a second macro/micro event. Not actually submitted this as-yet, but plan to very soon. It'll be a group writing event. I'll likely ask for it to be maybe around 8-9pm starting on Sunday or Monday (I like the events to not be on day-1 so that those who might be arriving a bit late won't miss out). I'll be putting more details on it soon enough, including offering for individuals to join on a google group document to help craft a few things for the event, mostly creating the setting options. If anyone'd particularly fancy either attending such n event, and/or helping to craft the settings, feel free to say here, or pm me if you'd prefer, or contact me on twitter.

Back from CF! Also Micro/Macro Meet Success!
Posted 9 years agoSide A - Back from CF!
Had a great time! Didn't actually go to that many events, but hung out with great peoples, had laughs, got confused by Dr Zeus referencing tweets from giant cougars, had swims and generally had a really rather fantastic time.
Roomshared with Mudiwa Giraffe - who was also sometimes TelStar the blue dog thing, and had bright blue w' grey hair; hung out less than expected, but a great guy and a good roomshare partner!
Hung with Waffs -
cokie-dough
Kasaran
wolfool
tuxtiger
yogoloth
sharae
ryman754 :icon samoht_foxxtail:
TatsuAikuchi
blue443 - pologies to anyone I'm missing there; was a sizeable group.
Went to the motorfurs meet, where there were many lovely cars, helped run/host Fursuit Twister, though it was an unofficial event this year. Pawpets was shorter than usual at 90 minutes, which for me was a pity, but it was good fun as ever.
Also hung out with
ZeeM
Stampy (thanks again for that awesome sketch)
Draconder
alterflane
Meister_li (when he was well enough to come down) and a few others.
Side B - Micro/Macro Meet Success!
I was looking for a specific scene clip for above, but this came up in the search as literally the first thing and fits so, so perfectly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VDRrjFjJ9fI
Loads turned up, despite having had (re: was "asked" to by
Rogue and
dcuk) to reschedule to earlier on the previous day to as it was listed in the conbook (though an announcement at the opening ceremony and the amendment on the macro-time-table outside con-ops was helpful).
Also big thanks to
dcuk and
gojiza for bringing things for macros to stomp and helping make the meet awesome. ... and for being awesome!
And thank you
rogue for not breaking the hotel too much.

Posted 9 years agoI don't generally make reactionary journals, and frankly this isn't one either; mostly. Well, it is and it isn't. It's in a way as much about the reactions to the hack as about that in and of itself.
That said, first thing I'll put is about the hack itself. Now I don't know the specific ins and outs, and I certainly don't read comments on things like that because people like to make shit up, and some might be true, most wont be and it's impossible to know without actually knowing, so it's not worth the time and stress and mental faculty to worry or think too much about. What I can offer however is firstly, a journal made by someone else: https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/7588418/ by
STrRedWolf which sheds some light onto a few things. The second thing ismy thought on the nature of what happened. FA got hacked and account details got leaked. Aren't FA's staff terrible, lbah-blah. But are they? Haven't both Sony and Microsoft also had very similar hacks of the PSN and XBox Live accounts? This is - as far as I can tell - pretty much the same thing. And they have taken measures to minimise the chances of it happening again. Why didn't they do those things before as a precautionary? Same reason everyone doesn't walk around in head-to-toe kevlar or wear steel-toe-capped flip-flops to the beach... they didn't expect it to happen. You might get shot at when you step out your front door, but you don't expect to (admittedly, this is more likely in some countries than others). You might have a donkey tread on your toes (my younger sister did have this happen once), but you don't expect it to, and you don't generally think to account for it as you pack to go to the seaside.
As for the reactions... the usual 'I've had enough, I'm leaving' and the more measured 'I'll stay here, but I'm also on these other places in-case next time it's worse' and of the other usual mix of responses. Whilst by all means everyone is entitled to leave in reaction to the thing, I myself don't fully get it... the others have it right, those who stay, but also put stock in other sites.
Though at the same time, that those other sites have comparatively limited traffic is part of why - possibly - FA staff might not be on things as swiftly and urgently as they might.
Though this does bring onto the other thing I wanted to put... an interesting notion I had after responding to a journal - about the hack - by
Arilin.
Whilst, yes, any time something like this happens, a handful will leave. Some will stay left. Some will come back, and others will fill those gaps - for the most part. But why? Why is it that so many of us DO stay here? Weasyl seems to be far more stable. Sure, its layout or specific usage might not be ideal for some... I for one don't like that to upload writing, I'd have to essentially upload and download a document, re-editing any italic or bolded texts, re-checking spacing etc... before being able to upload tot here. I'm sorry but sod that. FN is a new one on the scene. I've not looked at it, but it apparently is very nice, and somewhat different.
The thing is, people stay here because of the half dozen or so luminaries of their particular niche of the furry community furry stay. For macro/micro fans, people such as

Sparky_the_chu (as a reasonable, but not exhaustive, list of examples). They stay here, we stay here. If all of those people, or a significant proportion of them, were to migrate... wherever they migrate to would very much likely be where we go for our macro/micro arts. Something like that would create a far greater exodus from FA than a hack or some libel about one of the site owners.
As an example, a very few will remember VCL. It might still exist. It might not. But when I first found furry and macrofurry online (pretty much when I had access to the internet), that was the go-to place for furry arts. Except after a year or so, everyone I kept track of on there seemed to be stopping. I asked about and found here... and found that the vast majority of those artists had migrated to here; and they (and I) have had close to a decade, if not a full decade in cases, to get used to here.
Anyways, that was pretty much what I wanted to say.

Confuzzled 2016 Meme!
Posted 9 years agoStolen/borrowed from
cookie-dough and slightly amended some question wordings to appease my brain and current pedanticism.
Where are you staying?
In a vast mansion situated in a pocket dimension, kept in a room in the main con hotel.
What day are you getting there?
Thursday (early arrival)
Who will you be with?
Many, many peoples. Rooming with Mudiwa Giraffe, hanging out with so, so many others, but largely will be the aforementioned northern giraffe, Hussar/Histor/Miguel/Hustar/Hustir/H[vowel]st[vowel]r , Axel Tyler & Kasaran and those they hang with.
Do you do free art or trades?
I will be doing art trades... mostly trading money for art since I can't/don't draw.
Do you do commissions/badges?
N/A
Do you have prints/CDs?
Yes! I have mostly soundtrack CDs, a few Elvis, some Beatles, Led Zeppelin... and I've bought prints at previous CFs
Do you have art in the art show?
There are a lot of arty questions here... again, no.
What suit(s) will you have?
I'll have my birthday suit. Otherwise, mostly wear jeans.
Can I dance with you?
You can dance for me; but getting me to dance... good luck (though it has happened). Also, I AM fun, I promise, just not... in the dancey, drinkey way.
What is your gender?
The one with the dangly bits.
How old are you?
Old enough to not want to put a number here. Otherwise known as 36
How tall are you?
5 ft 4
Are you mated? in a relationship?
Nope, I am, to quote a rabbit I know, le sad.
May I touch you?
Uhm... suuure?
May I talk to you?
You may, yes. Though interpretive dance, mime, squeeks and the offering of moneys coupled with gestures are also viable means of communication.
Can I hug you?
Ok. Though not for like, minutes on end sort of thing. ... unless you ask and I say yes; though generally, normal hugs are cool, more... intimate hugging... not too likely, but I'm not against it as a rule.
Can I take photos of you/with you?
If you want to, sure. I'm usually one of the ones with a camera, so might be actually nice.
Can I buy you lots of drinks?
Sure. none of the Alan Cohol drinks, but fruit juices, milkshakes etc... by all means.
Do you drink Alcohol/Smoke?
Neither.
Can I give you lots of money?
If you have said lot of money then yes you can. You also may do so if you feel so inclined.
Can I hug or snuggle with you?
see 'Can I hug you?' (it's 5 questions up)
Can we hang out?
Of windows or moving vehicles? No, that would be very dangerous. Of our clothing? I feel that might be inappropriate. With one another... by all means.
Are you nice?
I think so. I hope so. I certainly always try to be.
Where will you be most of the time during the con?
At Confuzzled.
Other cons you may go to?
There are other cons?!
Who are you rooming with?
A northern giraffe and occasional blue dog by the name of Mudiwa and occasionally Telstar
Attending any events?
I'd like to go to the Zootopia screening, motorfurs, pawpets... and I'm hosting a micro/macro meet on Saturday at 11am (if memory serves from the email I got from events)
How can I find you at the con?
Divination, voodoo magics, the force, the satellite imaging stuff they use in shows like Arrow, keen animal scent, or simple looking. I'll always be wearing badges, jeans and a t-shirt. Chances are, if you find a beard with a huge hat, he'll know where I am.

Posted 9 years agoJust to say it is happening. I've sent an 'event request' off a bit ago even.
No idea where/when it'll be of course yet. But it will be happening.

just issues and problems...
Posted 10 years agoI have issues. Yeah. I know that… I have issues of every kind fucking imaginable. My body clock’s fucked up. I’ve stress, anxiety, physical and mental issues. I have dyslexia, dyspraxia, possibly some variant of very mild autism. At one point in last summer whilst on the phone to the job centre, I literally collapsed, broke down in tears in the middle of Marks and Spencers. I’m fairly certain I’ve some form of depression. Quite possibly some form of bipolar disorder, but I’d not like to presume and I’m too insular and private and ‘British’ to even speak openly enough about myself to my doctor to actually be diagnosed.
I’m 36 years old. I live at home with my Mother. I’ve never not done so. In honesty even if I had a job, I’d probably do so because honestly, I’m not sure I’d be able to live on my own. I’d forget to do stuff – the sort of stuff that other people do without thinking… paying bills, sopping, ironing… I’d not cope on my own. I’ve had a job… I got one in 1998 when I left school. I barely had to apply; I phoned, went the next day for an interview and started on the next Monday. The job frankly was a joke. I was given pretty much exclusively the shit shifts… 6pm10pm. 6:30-4am. 4:40-10pm. But with few enough hours that it was costing me as much to work there as I was being paid. So I left. In 1999. And haven’t been able to get work since.
Similarly, I’ve never had a girlfriend. Never been on a date, kissed, anything. I honestly don’t even know what it’s like to have someone actually properly care about me who doesn’t have to, or to be kissed.
I’ve had ideas in the past… I’ve tried writing stuff I’ve hoped might be publishable… hasn’t worked. I get to a point and my brain says “nope! Not gonna think about that anymore.” Or it’ll be something there’s no way I can do anything with… I had an idea for what essentially is the Kindle like 2 year before Sony launched the eReader – and thought about it a lot. I knew it was a good idea.
Most recently, it’s been a gamers café in Peterborough (Where I live). Place for board and video games in the same place; people can buy snacks… it’d be great. And it could work. For a while I was just unsure. Then a comic book shop opened. Proper one, actually in view of actual people. So I used that as a guide. If it’s still there and doing ok in a year, I’m doing this. It was. I approached 4 friends about it and, albeit slowly and with things being dropped off… it became just board games. My original name/theme changed. But still a games café, still like the new name and theme and stuff… and it’s moved on, slowly, from then.
This past week, two involved said ‘maybe we should start with more a few times a month in community centres instead of a fixed location. It’d be cheaper and easier’. Now given it being very different, I was unsure. So I asked for some reasoning to look into it more properly. I’ve provided – multiple times – estimates of figures of incomes/outgoings and every time with a fixed place, it works very well. The latest of these was questioned with the comment that a ‘con type event a few times a year would be cheaper and easier.’ And having my workings doubted. I then asked for reasoning that the other option’d work better and explained and even offered amendments to my figures, which still showed reasonable profit. Which ultimately has resulted in pretty much one person quitting and me now in serious doubt about whether this now is going to happen.
I need this to work… as far as I’m concerned, this is it. This is kind of ‘it works and this is a job or I’m actually without hope’. I don’t see me getting work that I don’t create myself. After so long, how could I?
But maybe I should be grateful you know I mean no girl ever wants to fuck me, but at least life’s happy to do so at every opportunity huh?
To be honest right now, I’m not sure of anything other than that seemingly any time I try to actually do something, somehow, some way it’ll go wrong and not happen and I’ll be back at square zero with nothing more than more psychological baggage to show for it.
All I’ve done today is be stressed about this. I genuinely wish today never happened. Sort of wish I never happened; I barely exist anyway.
I don’t know what to do at this point. I know this isn’t exactly the place for something like this, but… I need to get it out and I don’t know where else TO put it. Not really got anyone I can talk to about it, so… here it goes. I’m sorry if reading this has ruined anyone’s happy mood or anything… really… but I need to put this somewhere.

Time to get older tomorrow
Posted 10 years agoYup... I'll be.... older... tomorrow again. Another journey round the sun.
Birthday incoming!
Posted 10 years agoWell, next Friday I'll be yet another year older and wi... er... another year older.
Hope my cough clears off by then.
not that I'd ask for anything, but IF anyone'd wanna maybe give a tiny little fox any gift-arts or anything as a joint christmas/birthday present'd be awesome...
Actually, a certain Mr Stuart Otterson took me to see Star Wars (well, paid for the ticket, but with cinema prices nowdays, that's enough) on Thursday! :D

Claws of Resistance
Posted 10 years agoOk, so one or two of you (hopefully more) might be wondering why it's been longer than usual since the last chapter of Claws of Resistance was uploaded.
Well, in short... my tablet buggered up last month, and i couldn't get at it to email the latest save of it from there.
To explain in a bit more detail... I got the tablet in February. And, it proved a godsend; i was writing quasi regularly again on train journeys as well as just on the odd occasion of babysitting (I previously used my laptop, but the battery's buggered in it, so it works fine, so long as it's plugged in). It was fine for a bit, with the only minor issue being i could never figure how to save back onto the flash-drive from it, so i kind of had to each time re-remember how to get it to an email to email to myself. that was fine, though I tended to forget for a week or two in between and put it off...
Then, one day, the screen decided to not be working. which meant i could do pretty much nothing on it, given it was y'know, a tablet. Took it to pc world where i got it from, and, probably by now much shy of 2 months later and i'll be getting a replacement tablet tomorrow.
Now, in honesty, I'd kind of put off looking to see how recently i had of CoR.... I think deep down I knew. the issue is mostly the nature of chapter 9. of all the chapters I've written so far... probably the worst one to have to rewrite. one tricky scene, and some even more tricky very emotional stuff and a lot of character stuff that kind of just came out of me more than i sat and pondered and planned. so y'know, kind of amongst the worst imaginable chapter to lose.
And that's why it's been a while. and might be a while yet. I think i knew. But looking just now has made it real. Kind of feeling like Darling at the end of Blackadder Goes Forth.
Bugger.

Confuzzled 2015
Posted 10 years agoIt's been a few days now since I got back, but... in short... it was awesome!
Arrived on the Thurs for early arrival, a bit sweaty from lugging my things from the NEC in the sunshine with a leather jacket on (I'd expected it to be overcast and, well, cooler). Met with
Hussar and went up to the room after checking in to the hotel. At the room, which was literally on the other side of the elevators as last year, I found Hussar had put up a door-sign for us, which was pretty epic (and again, many thanks for that dude! And then that he'd made a thing (hopefully he'll put a photo up - keep an eye on his
Hisstor account). After a brief stop in the room to deoderise, I headed down to early reg.... then back up to get my passport, then back down to actually register! And then up again to change t-shirt into new one. Otherwise, hung out, took some photos, had pizza and ice-cream... nice, relaxed day/evening.
Friday was again, relatively relaxed; brekky, chattings, hanging out, opening ceremony. I'd forgotten the whole buying tickets thing for the tea-party, so missed on that, but enjoyed the pub quiz after where my team managed an impressive dead last! -In my defence, I think a lot of the points we did get were from me :) Oh, also put in my tower-block into the art auction.
Saturday was.... kinda non-stop. my macro/micro meet went ahead at 12:30 as planned. Had about half a dozen of us there (f I can recall, there was: Me,
geb,
Zed,
blue_anthroraptor,
gojiza,
dcuk,
drachetto) where we admittedly mostly played terror of meeple city and took photos of Drachetto terrorising my not-Jenga towerblock :P After this, it was straight over to the motorfurs meet, which was great - I missed out on it last year, so this was my first time at this hotel, and the car-park is much bigger and better suited... many smexy vroom-vrooms. From there, it was to Catchfurase, which was great fun and
jym did a great hosting job.Would love to actually take-part one year - not necessarily win anything, but take part. So, after that, was straight to the nightclub to help run Fursuit Twister, which, despite starting a little late, through no-one's *cough* co-
oversoulugh* fault, went very well - though we are going to need ways of making some fursuiters fall sooner... perhaps having a no actual ninjas rule. But, well, after twister, it was Pawpets, which, as ever was brilliant - though the queen's voice hurt my ears a bit here and there. After that, I was finally able to go and rest; just sat for a bit, then ordered food, which, by about 11pm, I got and was able to eat.
Sunday was much more chilled and spread out. fursuit parade more-or-less kicked things off; after which I pretty much spent 'my money' in the dealers den :P got mug, numerous commissions (3), t-shirt, squeaky tail-keyring, bottle opener - spent around - I think - £130-150 in there. Afterwards, in the afternoon, was the fursuit dance contest, which seems to have a higher level every year... not one dancer I'd have said was remotely bad. Then was chilling and stuffs before heading to the auction, where my tower... didn't appear.
Monday kind of was like the back-end version of Friday. picked up things from the auction - including my unsold tower, which I gave to
Tuxtiger on the promise he give more monies for bunnies.Went swimming (well, ok, went to the pool) in the morning, then closing ceremony, then chilling etc...
Tuesday was also of the swim-swim variety and lots of taking of photos for
Hussar/
Hisstor - that was about it. Very relaxed and chilled day.
And on Wednesday, I went home. :P
Spent a lot of time also hanging generally with
Kasaran,
cookie-dough,
Wolfool,
tuxtiger,
samoht_foxxtail,
tatsuaikuchi and of course my roomie, the mad viking hatter
Hussar
So, overall... Well, I did a few firsts... sauna and steam room, played Betrayal at House on the Hill and Werewolf and submitted a thing to the auction.
Also, i won a pair of tickets to the LFM summer boat party/saturday party. Now I just need someone to go with and somewhere to stay :P
The macro/micro meet was a success, and I plan very much to set it as an official event next year. possibly 2 - one for the meet, chat etc... and maybe an unofficial day/time to all go to the boardgaming room to play macro/micro themed games. might work a smidge better that way :P

Macro/Micro Meetup at Confuzzled 2015 Final Update/Details
Posted 10 years agoFor those not on UKFur, or who might have missed the updated first post of the thread there, the date/time for the meet will be on Saturday in the Library Bar, which, should be directly ahead from the main hotel doors. It'll be from 12:30 and I'll say until 1:30 (or 13:30 if you prefer your time all militaristic... who doesn't like a time in uniform?) but there's no real time constraint (One of the reasons for not registering it as an official event this first time; no idea how long we'll tolerate each-other's company for :P For all I know, there might be 3 people turn up, we say hi, sit awkwardly for 5 minutes, the wander off, which would've been a waste of an hour slot someplace. Likewise, I might've said half-hour, and we all get on so well, we want longer. to move in and start families together. The hotel might still be not too keen on that eventuality; but you get the gist of my ponit :P).
There will be a handy building for macros to play a version of Jenga with; which I intend to put into the art auction also (I likely will take a photo of the set to go in-place of the set itself until after the meet-up)
Any questions, inane ramblings, valid points, offers of marriage are welcome.
Though no, the micros are not for snacking on. One of them is me, who set this thing up; that'd be rude - not only to micros, but to the hotel, who have a fine menu selection and are giving us a fine discount. The pizza is delicious - seriously.

Question/Request regarding Confuzzled Macro/Micro Meet
Posted 10 years agoWould/could anyone maybe create a little-ish table-stand thing? I'm thinking like those triangle things you get on tables at bars/etc... (http://www.menuprintingdirect.co.uk.....kers-large.jpg) either one design on all 3 sides or maybe one macro, one micro and one side maybe Macro-Micro Meet or the like?
I would like, if possible, to put the thing in the charity auction after the meet-up, along with (if it's done) something else I'm getting done for the meet.
I should note that I am perfectly happy/willing to exchange such a thing for some of my monies (though if anyone wants to do it for free, I'll not complain).
(obviously, it'd be best if done by anyone either in the UK or attending said convention - might be a smidge tricky otherwise - unless others could co-op between arting and printing (my own printer's a bit shit tbh. it's fine for text documents; is all I really am fussed about :P)

Macro/Micro Meetup at Confuzzled 2015 update
Posted 10 years agoOk, so I have 2 possible tentative times to do this. Either on Saturday at either 12:00 or 12:30, or on Sunday at 2:00 or 2:30.
Either way, it'll be in the Library bar (which is straight ahead from the main entrance, past the main desk).
So, anyone any preferences either way?
http://2015.confuzzled.org.uk/atten.....yPhoto[733]/1/ < A... let's say current... timetable for the convention to help.

Acheivment Unlocked: Join the 21st century
Posted 10 years agoI have a tablet in other words. Old hat for most I know, but well.... I'm not most.
But that does mean that I know not what to get; so... tell me apps to get! Good free games (especially off-line ones for on trains) etc...
Also, what'd be best for using with MS Word 2003 documents?
Is an Ass Transformer btw (though so far it hasn't transformed into anything... I'm suspecting the name may be just that and it isn't an actual transformer... which is slightly disappointing)

Male
3. How old are you?
Old enough.
4. How tall are you?
5'4-5'5
5. Are you in a relationship?

Kasaran and
Cookie-dough as well as
mudiwa and
Carmel mostly.
9. Do you have art in the art show?
Nope.
10. What suit(s) will you have?
Only one I plan not to wear about the con; my birthday suit.
11. Can I dance with you?
You can try to et me to dance. You will fail.
12. Can I touch you?
I'm not sure exactly how you mean... generally? yeah... intimately? very much depends on a. who you are and b. if I can do so back. But seriously, hugs, hand-shaking etc... is fine, just don't like rugby tackle me or grope me or the like obviously.
13. Can I talk to you?
No! you must communicate to me via the medium of interpretive dance! Yes, of course you can talk to me. :P
14. Can I hug you?
Sure, just obey common sense regarding if I'm holding a drink etc... and not like sneaking up and grabbing me.
15. Can I take photos of you/with you?
I'm not a fursuiter and I'll not be vastly thematic or anything, but if you want to take photos of me, you're welcome to I guess.
16. Can I buy you lots of drinks?
Well, not alcohol as I don't drink. And not Coffee or energy drinks. But like coke, fruit juice, tea (milk, 2 sugars, not nigh-on-black strong and not hot-milky-water weak), hot chocolate etc... etc... by all means. feel quite free to buy me any of their non-alcoholic cocktails for me to try, not too likely I'll get them myself, but will likely be curious.
17. Do you drink Alcohol/Smoke?
Nope. Neither.
18. Can I give you lots of money?
You may. I can't promise anything in return other than gratitude, but if you want to give me monies, you are most welcome to!
19. Can I hang out with you?
Sure, so long as you use common sense (there's a theme emerging here isn't there?) I might be a bit shy/quiet on first approach if I don't know you, but I'm nice enough.
20. How will I recognize you?
Well, I'll pretty much always have badges on (other than the required con-badge), so there's that. Otherwise, I'm short, fairly scrawny... chestnut hair I suppose? jeans and likely a blue&white checked shirt.
21. Where will you be most of the time during the con?
likely all over really.
22. Who are you rooming with?
As mentioned, and as in previous years, the good viking himself,
Hussar
23. Attending any events?
Pub quiz is always a good laugh... I'll be (I suspect/hope) co-running fursuit twister, and am doing an informal an unofficial macro/micro meet-up, which has yet to have a location etc... finalised (which will likely happen once a tentative con schedule is up).
24. How can I find you at the con?
Stand in-front of a mirror, turn around 3 times, say 'Bloody Mary' clearly 3 times whilst staring into the reflection of your own eyes and I shall appear behind you. Failing this, look for me based on the my answer to 'How will I recognise you?'. The latter is probably a safer bet, and less likely to result in you appearing foolish and gullible.
25. Are you doing anything in line with the theme?
I shall have a box of cookies laced with growth powder and a bottle of shrinking potion. Or I'll wear a blue & white shirt.
26. How are you getting to the con?
Once you're there, Stand in-front of a mirror, turn around 3 times, say 'Bloody Mary' clearly 3 times whilst staring into the reflection of your own eyes and I shall appear behind you. Failing this, by train.

Macro/Micro meetup plan for CF'15
Posted 11 years agoI'm thinking in the conservatory at the back of Millers would be a good spot. Most likely on the Saturday, possibly in the evening, maybe 8ish, so it shouldn't overlap any events anyone might want to attend (though not sure if the bar might be starting to get busy by then).
It'd just be an informal meet-up kinda deal, though I might well get a jenga set, if anyone'd maybe fancy painting it up to look buildingy (which is totally a real word, not at-all one I just made up), or to make the blocks look like containers and suchlike?
Any opinions, thoughts, interest, bribes or offers of cash, suggestions or other general comments? I don't think it's worth setting as an official event (though of course my opinion on the matter is changeable by well voiced arguments, valid, coherent counter-reasoning or cash bribes), though if all goes well I might do so in future.

1. What is your name?
Misty
2. Do you know why you were named that?
Yeah... when I was a cub, I used to like playing in the fog... Foggy sounded a bit like an old-people name, so Misty it was.
3. Single or taken?
Single.
4. Have any abilities or powers?
I can shrink.
5. Stop being a Mary Sue!
I have literally no clue what that means.
6. What's your eye colour?
Brown.
7. How about hair colour?
Uh... well, I don't have hair per-se, just fur on ymy head, so I guess pink like the rest of me?
8. Have you any family members?
No.
9. Oh? How about pets?
Nope.
10. That's cool, I guess. Now tell me something you don't like.
it of a sudden tangent, but ok... Uhm... Well, I don't like being alone I guess. Sprouts; I hate sprouts. Also broccoli.
11. Do you have any activities/hobbies that you like to do?
Writing I guess... exploring; video games... being with pretty females ;) watching movies.
12. Have you ever hurt anyone in any way before?
Yyyeah. But they really, really deserved it. They were being a total and complete dick.
13. Ever… killed anyone before?
No.
14. What kind of animal are you?
Really? question 14 is what kind of animal am I? Even if you insist on asking, you can't at least have that as like question 1 or 2 or the like? I'm a European Red Fox.
15. Name your worst habits.
I think I can tend to over-fixate on trivial things.... being pedantic. Oh, and I sometimes can't help myself 'correcting' Americanisms. Even though really, barring one or two terms, I really am not that fussed.
16. Do you look up to anyone at all?
Really?! You ask a micro 'Do you look up to anyone?' ? Obviously I look up to pretty much everyone. Tact isn't your strong-suit is it?
17. Are you gay, straight, or bisexual?
Straight.
18. Do you go to school?
Technically; no, but... Well, if some kid decides to take me along, not too much I can do about it.
19. Ever want to marry and have kids one day?
Sure.
20. Do you have fangirls/fanboys?
Hehe, not that I'm aware of. Unless you know something I don't?
21. What are you most afraid of?
Aside from the obvious things - being trodden on or eaten, bugs - especially the ones that can eat me - I guess being alone again is kind of a fear. It's a lesser one, but I sometimes kind-of get scared that I'll get stuck or unable to grow myself back to my normal size and no-one'll believe that I'm an adult and not let me in to see films, or buy DVDs I want and stuff.
22. What do you usually wear?
Well, used to be just jeans, but nowadays, I tend to wear a t-shirt and sometimes a jumper or top/jacket too., depending on the weather.
23. What's one food that tempts you?
That tempts me? like... tempts me? Uh... I don't think of food in that way. Or do you just man what food do I like? In that case, probably... Well, I guess... apple crumble and custard would be one... I go anywhere and it's on the desert menu, I'm very often very, very tempted. Also, scampi and chips, and chicken strips. - separately... though I'd not mind them together. That actually sounds really good.
24. Am I annoying you?
No, not at-all.
25. Well, it's still not over!
I figured. Carry on.
26. What class are you (low class, middle class, high class)?
Uh... never thought about it. I guess... Hmm... upper-low or lower-middle.
27. How many friends do you have?
Don't keep count really. More than I think most likely. I think we all probably have more friends than we think.
28. What are your thoughts on pie?
Depends on the pie. if it's just out of the oven, regardless of the filling, it'd most likely be 'ow-ow-ow my feet it's hot!' Also, potentially eww if it's got sauce on it... you ever stood ankle deep in gravy? it's not pleasant. Also likely to be along the lines of 'yum' at the prospect of what's beneath my feet. ... as in the pie-filling, not the pie-crust right under my feet, that'd be gross. Don't eat things you've been standing on.
30. Favourite drink?
Tea. - yeah.. .shorter answer that huh? :P
31. What's your favourite place?
Tricky... I'm tempted to say cleavage... but I think as a broader stroke, I'll say the underwear of a nice female. ... ideally whilst she's wearing it ;)
32. Are you interested in anyone~?
As in generally or romantically? Former... I guess. People can be interesting, so yeah. The latter... possibly... I'd kind of prefer not to say whom though.
33. That was a stupid question.
Didn't seem such... Quite fair enough thing to ask.
34. Would you rather swim in a lake or the ocean?
Uh... kind-of neither, but I'd probably say... uh, if we're talking in general, a lake. I suspect less current to pull me in, or waves to.. well, be bad. I guess though for interest, I could go with a more... scale-version of the question... say, a swimming-pool or... a pond? Though.. not really a choice; pool... no fish or ducks. Private over public generally, but I'd prefer if it was one that you like walk into. I think I overcomplicated that for myself there.
35. What's your type?
Type of what?
36. Any fetishes?
*looks at self, then up at interviewer.* I think that question kind of answers itself. ... Or... I answer that just by being here... or something.
37. Seme or uke?
Again, not the faintest idea what you just asked me.
38. Camping or indoors?
Camping indoors? It's kind of more of a viable thing when you're less than a foot tall.
39. Tag People!
I tag you, you and you. No, not you, you... no-nono, to the left.. back one.. yes, you! Oh, and ... You!
We're done now? Good, could you maybe give me a hand off the chair please?

Assumption Meme
Posted 11 years agoOh look, a bandwagon! *leaps blindly - then wonders where that came from as a phrase*
Well, you all know how this works by now; make assumptions about me and I'll confirm or deny them.

GTA Online SUV race/trail set (X360)
Posted 11 years agoThought I'd share these since I'm pretty proud of them; a series of 8 trails around Raton Canyon and the surrounding area, each getting progressively more challenging, longer etc... The bits in quotes are the race descriptions.
I recommend trying going through them in order (obviously), and try to run is as though it were more real, try not to let yourself reset the vehicle.
First is the White route http://socialclub.rockstargames.com/games/gtav/jobs/job/oWYzgMICAEOf12Tid2rJDw?platformId=null which of course is the simplest. "Raton Canyon`s simplest trail, the White route is ideal for beginners, or just a simpler route."
Then is the Yellow route http://socialclub.rockstargames.com/games/gtav/jobs/job/l82_HlmOtkiA3_0V_OIf6A?platformId=null which is only slightly more technical really, still pretty easy unless you drive like a pillock. "The Yellow route, increasing the difficulty from the white run only slightly"
3rd up, we have the Green route http://socialclub.rockstargames.com/games/gtav/jobs/job/dDS_HUqeikKRR_AWju3ayg?platformId=null which makes a light jump up in difficulty/challenge... "The Green route is the 3rd route of the Raton Canyon Trails."
The Blue route comes next http://socialclub.rockstargames.com/games/gtav/jobs/job/Z-TBBPwBRku1srEmLNVs3A?platformId=null again, making a slight step up from the Green route, the trail on this one narrower and with fewer walls to prevent falling down into the river. "The 4th route of the Raton Canyon Trails is the Blue Route which offers more of a challenge."
The Red route http://socialclub.rockstargames.com/games/gtav/jobs/job/tywteCz9EUGEFCTSHwveDg?platformId=null heads in a different direction to the previous routes. "The red route is the 5th Raton Canyon route, introducing some steeper climbs and high corners without any walls to keep you on track."
and then it's onto Burgundy http://socialclub.rockstargames.com/games/gtav/jobs/job/u2jPluvQB0-WA3wC8-VN5g?platformId=null not to be confused with Ron Burgundy of course, who cannot be ridden since he's long since been married to the delightful Mrs Veronica Burgundy/Corningstone. "The Burgundy Route is quite similar to the Red route, with a few added challenges."
The Purple route http://socialclub.rockstargames.com/games/gtav/jobs/job/5Pz1i1MBSEOZP2ia8hlyog?platformId=null which is the penultimate Raton Canyon trail is a bit of a jump again in difficulty, which seems to make a bit of a pattern of pairs, which I do quite like. "This is the Purple Route, which is as far as most even dare to try as it`s the last one before the Black Route. The routes now also employ snipers to prevent drivers diverting from the route to cut corners."
And finally, the Black route http://socialclub.rockstargames.com/games/gtav/jobs/job/jJniPdn4vkmjFC9cDj0TCg?platformId=null Which... well, if you try it in anything with not much power, good luck to you. I did complete it in a Mesa (the Jeep which for some reason is rwd) in testing, but only just. "The Black Route! nicknamed -The Death Route-. Just like the Purple Route, it takes in ppretty much all the previous routes. Where that ends however, the Black Route is just about to turn nasty, taking drivers up Mount Chilliad, and down the other side. Only a few brave or foolish individuals dare take this trail; even fewer finish."
Oh, one tip for Purple and Black at the start... brake on the descent. You'll know what I mean. And if you don't, you'll definitely know what I mean. :P Also, the checkpoint arrows on purple and black are weird and don't point in the correct direction towards the beginning of the run (going around the bottom - again, you'll know when you see) - if for whatever reason you've not done the prior ones... follow the track you're on should see you in the right direction.
Also, yeah, I've noticed the few typos and slight spelling errors as I've copied the descriptions here just now.
Anyway, please do enjoy, and do thumb up those races. Also, they can be quite nice to just run on your own, because there can be some spectacular views, especially when the sun's setting, or when there's a clear blue sky above.
