I never thought that would be a controversial statement but here we are. Watching and observing from online has shown me that the profoundly autistic end of the spectrum has little to no understanding of how debilitating it can be. People in the neurodivergent movement tend to overlook the low end of the spectrum, claiming that it's only an abelist society that is making things difficult for them. This is a blatant lie.

My brother is 27 and on SSI for his autism because he CANNOT provide or take care of himself. This is not me saying that my brother is a problem, he isn't. He is a 27-year-old man with a severe disability. He cannot advocate for himself or answer questions. When he has a doctor's appointment my mom has to be the one to talk to the doctors. She and my dad went through the court system to be his legal guardians so they could continue to take care of him.

My brother is on a number of medications to manage certain symptoms but one that can be overwhelming for my family is the aggression. It's almost a daily occurrence in the house. My mom takes him to Walmart multiple times a week or even day because otherwise there would be a meltdown.

My parents worry about what will happen when they aren't around anymore. There isn't a way my brother can take care of himself. Simple things like taking a bath require a list taped to the wall with 'wash hair, wash left arm, wash right arm, etc' and someone to run the water for him and tell him when it's time for a bath.

There's a spectrum, right? That means we have those are the higher end of the spectrum but you also have those that are on the low end and profoundly disabled.

Autism is not part of who my brother is. It is a disability he has. My brother is a wonderful person who I love very dearly, this is why I speak up for him; because of the disability, he cannot have a voice of his own.

Classes are going well, I'm in my 3rd week and I still have an A in the class. I'm also working on the Forest group ych (I'm adding another layer of shading and highlights.) I've also been working on patreon rewards.

This week's been a little rougher than most. I went to the notary yesterday and signed the paperwork for the divorce. This is one of the hardest things I've gone through and I have my friends and family to thank for helping me to stay a float. I have a place to stay, just waiting for the room to be ready and for my lease to be up.

In June I get a new mac from my school for my graphic design classes and I'll get to keep it when I graduate. I probably won't be able to go to my formal graduation so I'll probably just have to have them mail my degree to me. My college is 1,000 miles away from where I'll be and I don't really want to go by myself.

I'm sorry this was a bit rambly, just wanted to give ya'll an update.

It's a trend I've been noticing especially with autism in particular. Autism needs a diagnosis by a specialist. How do I know? My brother went to a specialist in 1997 in another state because that was the closest one to us then. He was 3 years old. My mom and dad took him on a three-hour road trip and my mom bawled when they got the diagnosis. My brother didn't say his first word until he was about 9. He still can't have conversations or have friends in the same way I do.

My mom does not have autism, My dad has a lot of traits but a diagnosis would do nothing to help improve his quality of life, I'm in the same boat as my dad and I can function just fine in life. My brother's diagnosis does not mean that my dad or I would be on the spectrum just because we have some traits. EVERYONE has traits of autism, it depends on the severity and the amount. Self-diagnosis is a slap in the face to not only those with autism but to the families that work so hard to take care of them and provide for them.


Diagnosis is not some fancy pretty label. It's supposed to determine a path of treatment to help improve your quality of life. A label should NEVER be the goal.

I start school tomorrow and I got my vaccine on Saturday. I only have to get one shot (I got the Johnson & Johnson one). I'm going through the side effects (nausea, chills, fever, aches, headaches) so I'm doing what I can to draw and also start my school work. Thankfully today (Sunday at the time of writing this) wasn't as bad as Saturday night. Should only be a day or two more with the side effects if even that, still thankful I got my vaccine.

I got into Independence University for the online Graphic Arts BS program. I'll be in school until 3/22/2024 which means some changes to my schedule and commission slots.

Patreon will remain the same and I still have slots available!

Commissions will go down to 2-3 slots a month depending on how heavy the class is for the month.

Honestly I'm really excited to be going back to school so I can provide a better life for myself and keep moving forward. I don't know where I'll end up but the road looks bright and I'm eager to start on it.

This last weekend I found 3 people in my patreon chat that are into CP. I feel gross and I refunded the commission and pledges I had. I have a zero tolerance policy for that and rabbit hole kept going. I think what hurts the most is I considered one of the people a good friend. I let him in closer than I do a lot of people now and it's been tearing me up that I didn't know. I accepted work from him for years and while it was normal commissions I still can't help but feel a little used at least.

I also found 3 people who I had done commissions for in the past. I have since taken down that work as I feel like it's a stain on my portfolio. I'm not sure what to do. I don't really want to make new friends in the community or let people in outside of who I already trust. I'm not as emotional as I was this weekend but my trust with the community is wavering.

I love the wholesome scenes, it's nice to draw and I truly enjoy that and how it makes people smile. That being said, I don't like finding out people I've drawn for are into CP. It prompts a dark thought path that isn't healthy. I can't control what people do with my art even if I want for it to not be used for that purpose.

I am amending my TOS to have a 'do not post my art on inkbunny' it's a disgusting site and I'd rather not be connected to it. Knowing my art is on there makes me feel sick. My sona is in a few pieces on accounts with CP and I want to cry. I can't do anything though since it's not my art and they're group pictures.

I'm sure a few people are in my position, I'm not speaking for them though. I'm speaking for myself. I'm going to be more cautious with the work I accept. This isn't okay in my books.

I have a 21.5 inch screen tablet coming tomorrow so I can expand what I'm able to do. I'll be practicing animation and hopefully also be able to do bigger more detailed pieces more efficiently. it'll also be a little easier on my eyes having a bigger workspace rather than my 9 inch ipad screen (which I'll still be using for sketches and smaller pieces).

I highly recommend XP Pen though for screen tablets, they're a budget friendly alternative for wacom.

Well it's been about a month since I posted a real update. Of course the world is going a bit crazy, the lack of tp in stores, price gouging, etc.

I also came back from TFF and Austin with a mama, a great surprise and I couldn't be more touched she adopted me as her cub. ;~:

What has the pandemic done here? Honestly I'm one of the town with just stay at home orders. Not as strict as a shelter in but not as comforting as what I'm used to. My city seems to be running with business as usual, traffic hasn't slowed, and no mandatory closings from the government. Thankfully my husband is still working since Chick fil A closed all their dining rooms. We're also thankful for the relief check that will be coming.

My parents on the other hand are under a shelter in. The latest news is that going to Walmart is a limit of one person per family. For my parents this is tough because my brother is on the more severe end of the spectrum of autism. He's non verbal and going to walmart is the one thing he gets to do a week until now. My sister is at home doing school work (she's a smart kid and does all her school work the first two or three days).

While I could afford a plane ticket so my husband wouldn't have to drive 3 hours there and 3 hours back my dad's restrictions are harsher. He works in the medical field and can't leave the county for 60 days. If I were to go he would have to be quarantined for two weeks. So going to see my family is out of the question.

I wanted to get a switch lite bundle with Animal Crossing to help elevate some of the loneliness and to spend some time with my sister doing something she likes. I'm about $100 short of ordering one so I'm open for all types of commissions and I still have chibi ychs open.

I can do commissions for chibis at $20 for a single character and minimal bg (ground and a prop or two) and +$10 per additional character limit of 6 characters

I leave for TFF next Wednesday and I’ll be rooming with and as well as my husband. After I’m staying with Mikey, Lucca and yookey in Austin and I’ll fly bag March 7th.

Another issue has been a burn out I’m dealing with. I’m feeling stressed out and tired. That being said commissions are closed until I get over the burn out.
