Home for the summer need suggestions! **Please Read**
Posted 12 years agoSo I've been home for a while now and have a ton of free time to draw. I know I have a few watchers at least so maybe you guys have some good suggestions.
BLAAAAH
Posted 13 years agoI've been wanting to draw for so long but I'm stuck at uni and I have nowhere near the privacy I need to do so. I'm getting ANTSY.
Just some stuff to say.
Posted 13 years agoI have a couple things I want to get off my chest right now but I didn't want to make a whole bunch of journals or anything, so I'll just make a few sections for this.
Artist Block.
Everybody has it eventually, and everybody feels the need to talk about it, but I'm not immune to being part of everybody. I've been having a lot of thoughts about it recently though so I just kind of want to vent. I've been really trying to start work on a comic, and I have a hundred different ideas for plot points and all that business, but I'm having a huge issue actually getting started and putting these ideas down on paper. I finished 2 pages, but then everything afterwards just feels incredibly forced and it just turns into this discouraging wreck. So I tried to pull off that project and actually do some furry art, but I really can't put anything out. Even my most recent picture, which I consider vastly superior to anything else in my gallery, is really uninspired and makes me feel awful. I can barely come up with any ideas, and when I do I can't possibly put them down in a way that makes me proud. Right now I'm just trying to crash straight through this wall into a place where I feel more comfortable, but it's proving to be very difficult.
Community.
I've found that the furry community in general is extremely welcoming, and I'd really like to start talking to and meeting more people, but I don't know how to approach people in a place where everybody's kinks and such are thrown out there for all to see. If anybody would like to help me with that it'd be much appreciated.
Ideas.
I'm really contemplating the topic/theme of my next picture. I really want to do some sort of transformation picture, but I kind of want to establish a consistent universe for my characters, so I'm tossing around how to handle this kind of thing. I'm currently torn between the idea of a plant based tf or a technology based tf, or perhaps some sort of conflict between the two.

Adjusting to CS5 (or not)
Posted 13 years agoRecently I've decided to switch from PaintTool Sai to Photoshop CS5. It's been a really odd experience adjusting to the new program, but there are some things that I really needed that Sai didn't have. For example, the pen tool in CS5 is very helpful when doing straight lines and such, and not having to put all of that stuff in a separate layer is pretty neat. However, I'm not finding it to be quite as extra special as I thought it would be. Honestly, I'm kind of feeling like switching back to Sai. Sai isn't in any way a better program than CS5, but I'm vastly more familiar with it. Familiarity means a lot when it comes to putting a project together. I feel my techniques of shading and lines is more in need of a change than my program. People often like to blame everything on the limitations of their chosen format, but I've found most of the time those limits are artificial. There is nothing saying I can't do the same work somebody does in CS5 with Sai, beyond very specific filters which I am in no position to start using. In the end I think I'm going to switch back to Sai. Sort of a random journal to throw out here, but I felt like I needed to get these thoughts out somewhere in a sort of stream of consciousness thing. Also, I'm finding that drawing anthropomorphic characters is another huge challenge to adjust to.
What next? **Please Read**
Posted 13 years agoWell it seems I have an audience now, so I was considering a question for anyone who sees this journal. I have a couple ideas of what to do for my next piece, but I would like to get some feedback on which one all of you would prefer to see first. I'll list them out and you guys just tell me which one you'd like to see the most.
1. Pooltoy TF
2. Absorption
3. Tasteful female pinup
4. Crossdressing male pinup
As far as the actual topic goes, I haven't yet decided. I think I'll end up coming up with an OC and using them.

Amusing situation?
Posted 13 years agoThe Ben10 Naga picture which I recently uploaded is actually a redux of an original piece I did many years ago. I uploaded this new version to the site where the original lies, and found that the new piece was rejected for poor anatomy and non-satisfactory quality. While I recognize my new piece is certainly not a quality drawing, I find it humorous that the old work, which is of notably inferior quality, still remains on that site, and made it through the same admissions process. I'm sure it's the product of multiple admins being in charge of the admissions process, but still, I find it funny. I'm currently working on fixing it up with a few small anatomy errors, and adding color. Hopefully it will live up to the original with the new changes.
