How to make creatures of fantasy (the game)
Posted 16 years agoI learned this technique a while back (Manga Matrix), but it is amazingly innovative as well as fun, so I made a game out of it. You don't even have to draw to play this game either! All it needs is an imaginative player...otherwise harakiri is the best way out.
An example of the technique / game is played so:
Choose 3 (or 5) animals, even mythical beasts (human counts as well.)
2. Get rid of 1 (or 2 if you had 5) of the chosen animals.
3. Choose one of the remaining 2.
4. Now add the attributes of the unchosen animal(s) and place them onto the one that was.
5. (Art) Add any physical characteristic you want to further detail (lense flair, the number 6, water, metallic sheen, sound waves, whatever makes sense to you to choose from)
Voila! You've made a creature never invented (or at least close to one)!
Alternative: Instead of animals, choose 3 objects, or mix them to have 1 animal and 2 objects ect. You can have more, but that means more chaos and difficulty, still, it makes for a challenge.
You can also limit the effect to just one part of the chosen item, like the hand, the glass, and so on and so on. Remember, it only goes as far as you take it.
Now, go forth and report back to me after you've made something with this style for cookies and lukewarm ramen!
