Looking for the rare, unusual and possibly extinct...
Posted 10 years agoAlong with my leather goods at the Syndactyl Arts table we're selling laser etched acrylic animal species tags. You've seen them before. Here's some of them right here: http://www.furaffinity.net/full/10973001/
We have about 70 different species and that's still not enough. And while we pride ourselves for the wide variety of species we have tags for, there's always a request for species we don't have. Want to help prevent that problem?
We'd like to add a few more species. We're adding domestic cats to the list along with a few prehistoric creatures. Please feel free to suggest some critters you'd like to see. Do you strongly identify with an usual species that no one ever has a tag for? Let us know. We might add it.
We aren't doing dragons and other mythical creatures this run nor any fictional species this go round. We might later, though.
Post your suggestions over at Fishyboner's journal here: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/6719378/

Further Confusion 2014
Posted 12 years agoIt's time for FC and while this will be my third Further Confusion, it will be the first one where I have table.
and I are sharing a table under the name of Syndactyl Arts. We will have a interesting array of fine leather goods from hand crafted leather dog masks to beautifully bound leather covered sketch books. There will also be dozens of acrylic tags engraved with various species on them...with 27 new animals that we have added by popular request. I'm looking forward to seeing y'all there. Come by and say hello in the dealer's room or look for me somewhere in the evening out smoking a cigar.
MFF con report...finally.
Posted 12 years agoNow that I'm doing with travel and holidays, its time for my belated Midwest Fur Fest con report.
It was quite a success and I'm grateful to everyone who helped make it such.
I traveled there with my partner
westhoff and together we roomed with my good friend and minion,
hafoc both of whom were especially helpful while I was stuck behind a table in the dealer's den, selling.
I said, it was a successful venture and I feel like my partner in art and business,
fishyboner and I had done a great job creating leather and lasered acrylic merchandise that people wanted. Its gratifying to have people desire to own the things we've crafted. We were almost sold out of just about everything we brought. Thank you to all of you who purchased something from Syndactyl Arts. Without our customers it would have been mighty lonesome. Also special thanks to Fishy's awesome boyfriend
chaoseven for helping out and for the design touches he is responsible for.
I want to thank the MFF for putting on a great con and especially thank the dealer's room staff. Things went smooth, professional and without any problems that I could see. Kudos to all of you.
I brought two leather dog masks to MFF and they both were sold within the first 2 hours of opening. I know who ended up with Mutt-Zero, but which of you fine furs ended up with Dober-Zero. I did not catch your name and the one photo I have of you, your name tag is flipped over. Anyone who can point me to pics of my masks being worn, I would really deeply appreciate it. I'm looking to put some on http://misterswinehound.tumblr.com to if the new mask owners don't mind.
To everyone I met at MFF and hung out with, thank you for helping make my second MFF a first class experience.
Now its time to get to work on stuff for FC.

Signal Boost: North American Hyena Sanctuary
Posted 12 years agoSo there's these good people trying to build a sanctuary for hyenas.
http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/h.....rica/x/4514207
It is quite legit.
I'm involved with the people behind this and myself working hard to make sure this Sanctuary happens. There are a number of big cat sanctuaries, wolf sanctuaries, and other species specific sanctuaries but there are no sanctuaries for hyenas within North America. While it doesn't look like there's much of a need, there is more need than you would think.
There's just a few hours to go on this fund raising effort. Even a dollar donation is helpful.
If you can't help any other way, at least spread the word.
Thank you.

Tumblr, art, and what I've been working on.
Posted 12 years agoSome of y'all might have noticed I've not posted much art lately.
That's because I've been very focused on this leather and fetish gear thing I've been doing. Its my Swinehound project. Curious to see what I've been up to? I've posted a thing or two from it here but FA under this account and a few more things on
misterswinehound Even so, it doesn't feel right to post everything on FA since much of it isn't furry, violates the rules, or just doesn't belong. That's why I have started http://misterswinehound.tumblr.com and will be posting there weekly to show what I'm working on. Come have a look.

Posted 13 years agoI've been really busy with life, some long term art projects, and getting things in order for a very big endeavor. Its has branches and one of them is Syndactyl Art. That's the name of my LLC and the name which
fishyboner and I used at our table at MFF.
MFF was a bit of an experiment for me. Could I sell at conventions and enjoy it. Turns out, I could.
I liked my time behind the table and even more so, I liked the collaborative projects Fishyboner and I workd on. So I'm continuing that path.
Fishyboner arrives in less than 24 hours. Some of this is just friends being friends. She comes to the sunny south to art and get a break from the Wisconsin cold. This has become a year event. Expect by the end of this visit for there to be some very fun things shared. Syndactyl Arts kind of things. I'm excited.
Some of those things you'll be able to check out in person if you're attending FCN and AC. We'll have a presence in the dealer's room of both conventions.
So what about FC? Maybe in 2014 you can see a Syndactyl table. For now now you can just run into me. I'll be there. If anyone wants to pre-order one of my "Swinehound's Wicked Little Thing" leather paddles, pictured here.
Let me know by note, you can get one from me at the con. Otherwise you'll have to wait until the Swinehound project goes online in 2-4 weeks.
Some of you are probably wondering about SLOP. More of that is coming too. Working on other projects until that block crumbles. I promise I'll finish the current story and you will all know the horrible fate that awaits Brice. :)

MFF and you...and me...and oh yes, art.
Posted 13 years agoYou can bet I'll be there. I'll be spending much of the day in the dealers den at the Syndactyl Arts table with with
fishyboner
At a dealers table? Yup. Be gentle. Its my first time.
I will be selling some prints, some of my leather work, and some buttons. The buttons are 1.5 four packs related to the SLOP webcomic and then a bin of miscellaneous buttons from my other art.
At my table we'll be offering three different books. At Syndactyl Arts we have a case of Basic Compendium books for the awesome anthropomorphic RPG called Shard. Withing a few months the next book for the game will be coming out and we want to promote a game we really enjoy.
We will also have copies of a novel written by Hafoc called Hilltown. Fishyboner did the cover art.
The third book we're offering is something we at Syndactyl whipped up called the Idoltorus Book. Its a collection of collaborations and text created by Fishyboner and I. There's only a limited ammount of these leatherbound, handcrafted beauties to be had so you better be quick.
Fishyboner will have a small ashcan version of ErrataGraffix. Get your fix.
What about sketchbooks and badges? Oh...I'll be doing a few sketchbooks and badges. First come, first serve. I want to make sure I bite off more than I can chew this first time having a table, so I'm only doing a few a day.
I am looking forward to seeing you there.

MFF, art collaborations, and such...
Posted 13 years ago
fishyboner and I have been working on a series of collaborations together in an attempt to put together some portfolios that we will be selling at MFF. We'll be selling our own individual art work along with buttons and other interesting merchandise still to be determined.
Its been a great deal of fun doing these collaborations.
So what are the portfolios? One is bondage/fetish related and the other is studly hooved animals.
How it works is she does a gestural sketch, then passes it to me and I dress it up and add detail.
That looks like so: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/8443355/
She then draws it using my suggested details...like so:
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/8473973/
Eventually it will be painted.
Some of the original works will be for sale as well as prints. Its been really fun.
I wish I could share more of what we're doing but some of the pieces really really do want to be a surprise.
Go give
fishyboner some love....especially for this piece:http://www.furaffinity.net/view/8474016/
It's my favorite of the week.

Portal 2 Perpetual Testing Initiative
Posted 13 years agoSo playing with the new, super easy to use level editor for Portal 2, I made my own custom map.
If you enjoy my artwork, maybe you'll enjoy my Portal 2 work. Probably not, but hey, give it a try.
I could use some feedback.
In the Steam Workshop, just search for: NDA-YMCA

In fact, I really really like it.
Now someone tell me what else I'd probably like.
And then somebody else tell me what I'd probably like if I happen to like what the last person suggested and also happen to like this first video.
After that, someone can tell me what I might like if I like that second suggestion...and this original video. We will see where this goes. :)

And just what do you think you're doing?
Posted 13 years agoYes. You.
I've this notion that actions are one thing, and what you're really up to is another. Actions are the path to the thing you're doing. Actions are the outward manifestation of what you're doing.
For example:
Right now I'm thumbnailing the next page of SLOP. That's the action. What I'm doing is weaving a bit of magic in the form of art and fiction that will fuck with people's heads. People think they know Sam. But...do they?
So what are you doing?
Tell us.
