Believe it or not, its been a year since I did this audio meme. Where does the time go? It turns out I've a got a cold/flu thing going on and my throat is all roached. That's just perfect for grinding out the Mulefoot gravelly drawl.

Can someone recommend an application for converting other video formats to Flash so I can upload the video hear to FA? There are two main requirements.
a) the program is freeware.
b) the program is free of malware and other assorted nasties.

So, anyone else other than me going?

You know what would really turn me on? If those of you who took the trouble register would get your butts to the right polling place and vote. Seriously...if you can vote, go do it. Its not just a right but your duty.

And don't give me any of this, "My vote doesn't count." stuff neither. Important races do come down to just a few votes, sometimes.


What if I'm just apathetic? You probably shouldn't vote. Wait. What? If you can't be bothered to make an informed decision about the future of the country, stay home.

Can't I just vote for a straight party ticket? I mean...I've always voted _____ party in the past. You could. I wouldn't unless you've checked every single candidate on your ballot from Attorney General to Local Judge and know that everyone of those same party candidates completely encompass your desires. Having a political party is like having a religion. Way too many have one out of habit rather than actual soul-searching examination of those beliefs.

Oh...and one more thing. If you vote for the lesser of two evils, you're still voting for evil. Vote third party if that's the candidate that most represents you. We're way too mired in a two party system. I know people will tell you that this election is too important to let party X win, but they'll tell you that EVERY election.

Now get out there and vote...unless you didn't register when you could have and should have. You people can go sit in the kids table while the adults run things. :)

So, there's this pen, paper, and dice type role playing-game called Shard. Its done by a friend of mine. Some of you who went to the last two AC's might have seen the table for it. For those of you that haven't, you can find out all about it at http://www.shardrpg.com

Its anthropomorphic based and the setting is a bit like Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind meets Ramayana of Valmiki.
Basically a medieval Indian/Persian setting on an alien world with giant insects and sparkling crystal mountains.
I think the game is a great deal of fun.

The reason I bring it up is this... I like the game so much that I'm going to be giving away 4 copies hardcover copies of the Basic Player Compendium...the main rule book. The first two copies I'm giving away will be given away randomly in a drawing.
So how does one get in on the drawing?

Easy! Just reply to this thread saying that you're in.
Next Monday at 6pm Central Time, I'll use my dice to pick two winners.

So, even if you're not into role-playing games yourself, if you know someone on FA who might be interested, point them to this journal.
