"The art of filmmaker Tim Burton (Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas) will be featured in a special exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, Nov 22 - April 26, 2010.
Following the current of his visual imagination from his earliest childhood drawings through his mature work, the exhibition presents artwork generated during the conception and production of his films. It highlights a number of unrealized projects and never-before-seen pieces, as well as his student art, earliest nonprofessional films, and examples of his work as a storyteller and graphic artist for non film projects. A variety of mediums are represented, including drawings, paintings, storyboards, digital and moving image formats, puppets and moquettes, props, costumes, ephemera, sketchbooks and cartoons."
To me this sounds like an awesome exhibit and I would love to get a chance to see it.

I am typing with one hand because the other is gently holding the cup of Starbucks Caramel Apple Spice. ((I got the Grande because I will be here awhile.))
I have so much spare time on my hands that I feel it necessary to tell you why. I went out clubbing at around 10pm and returned at around 2 AM. I then showered so i could clean off all the make up, hairspray and other nastiness from my body. So at around 3 AM i had dressed myself in a red blouse, khaki pants and a pretty sash - which i am using as a belt. I then put on my black heels. I then checked my DA. Then promptly fell asleep on my laptop.
At around 4:23 AM my phone rang. It was my ride to the airport. It is at this moment in time that I realize i forgot to pack. So i threw some random clothes in a bag and my sketchbook ((which has the traditional DISNEY TURTLETTES inside its many pages)) and a book or two to read, and my laptop.
I got to the airport at 5:14 AM....and then a I use the Delta Kiosk to get my plane ticket. I realize something. My flight is at 7:30 AM.
I got to the airport almost two hours early. It is now 6:08 AM and I am completely through every kind of security imaginable. I have also found time to eat, use the restroom and type some of my Thief Story. I still have an hour and a half. So I decided to look through my luggage to see waht I had to amuse myself with, and I realized something incredibly crucial. All I packed - clothing wise - was 2 pairs of jeans, a bra, and a jacket. That's it. It will certianly be an interesting trip home. I forgot to pack until the last possible minute!
So as i sit and mooch off Airport WIFI i start to browse around DA and find a poll on inspiration. That one little poll, sprouted an entire short narrative from me.
This is proof that inspiration can come in many forms. While my newest one took the form of a poll, sometimes something so simple cannot generally inspire an artist/writer to create. They have dry spells and times when absolutely NOTHING can make them want to draw.
Most of the time, my inspiration comes in the form of Music, TV, Nature etc etc. The point is, everyday something inspires something new. Something makes me want to create, express and communicate what I see in my mind with the world I love finding inspiration and it warms my heart when I inspire other people!
Currently, someone in the airport terminal is playing "Wishes" that i the music to the fireworks at the end of the day at Magic Kingdom. And the fact I am in an airport terminal...makes me want to write an Annabelle and Gabe story with :devmilykins: or at the very least...re read that story.
The music makes me want to draw a disney princess, the location makes me want to write a story, and a poll on the front page inspired a journal who's meaning I feel has been lost to a starbucks fueled idea.
See what 23 minutes of sleep can do?

They don't usually give me days off...and my family lives in GA....and I am all alone in FL...but yay!!!
I get to go home on my birthday!!! For about four days...:D I will be at home September 16th to the 19th :D
My b-day is September 17th :D SO YAY FOR FOUR DAYS OFF!!!
