Not sure if it's a pressure system (it's snowing here for days) or what, but I get home from work, eat dinner, go for a nap but not wake up until the alarm for work goes off.

Might need to see a doctor. I've gotten more sleep in 2 days then I typically get in a whole week. z_z

Still working on commissions n such between shifts at work, so productivity hasn't slowed much at all.

Needs to stop snowing in g'damn May though.

It's been a hell of a year so far.

As to not get TOO far into the weeds about it, I screwed up my left leg back in December, and its -just- starting to get reliable to walk again without help. Not including my medical issues flaring up, 'been sleeping more to help speed up the recovery, which results in less time on the computer and less time behind the drawing table.

Work has gone through a few very significant management shifts, and a good friend of mine is now running the branch. The supervisor is quite unhappy about it. So there's been quite a bit of drama at work, and he's been bailing out instead of helping us, then tossing us shit when things don't get completed before the next day; regardless if it's our fault or not. So we've been putting in OT to help keep things together.. sometimes being there for nearly 11-12 hours. That, obviously, keeps me from my drawing table.

The kids are getting older too, and juggling dad-time Vs artist-time is getting harder as well. I'm sure anyone can understand why it's important to be there for our kids; but.. again.. that takes time out of the day.

And now that the snow is finally starting to melt, the missus and I can finally start back up on improving the house. We had a septic-tank/plumbing issue that's made the main bathroom Out Of Order. So in the middle of the night, when I typically draw, I need to sneak in silently into my wife's room to use her bathroom, but that runs the risk of waking up the youngest. Heh, the heater popped on, the air pressure sucked in the door, the click woke up the youngest, whose crying woke up the middle, whose fussing woke up my wife, whose stomping woke up the oldest, and then instead of my office being left alone so I can focus, I had 2 kids in here. Which, obviously, I'm not drawing what I normally draw, with kids in the room.

2024 has been full of bullshit here so far. Perhaps the lower amount of customers is a good thing if my productivity keeps being low. Gotta fix this desk, too. It's too tall, and my drawing wrist is cramping something fierce due to the pinch in my wrist.

Anywho, just letting everyone know why I've been more silent then normal as of late. I'm actually getting more then 3-4 hours of sleep a night, I'm working tons of OT, house and car construction/repair are in full swing again (installed a toilet twice last week alone). Still working on art, just slower. Only got a couple of sketches done last night with all the interruptions throughout the night.

I wanna do some YCHs soon.

Our local FedEx driver convinced me to try HellDivers 2. Looked cool, so figured, 'why the fuck not? Put in a ton of OT lately, I can afford a lil game'.

Got through the tutorial, got through a single mission, failed at the next mission. Turned it off to go take a shower, FedEx driver mentioned wanting to play, so popped on, LOOONNNGGGG black screen, then spontaneously plays into the intro movie, then "ERROR 10002018."

Turned off the Steam overlay, verified the files, deleted the GameGuard and verified the files again, and now I'm at the point I uninstalled the game entirely and will be reinstalling it throughout the night. Anyone got any solutions for this?

Cause I'll be honest, I'm pretty pissed off. I don't get much time to play any games, and now that I'm trying to actually unwind and play one, it errors out on me. Quite annoying.

<Grumbles>

After reviewing what I made, I think I might need to start expanding into some other fields. Either different topics of art, or maybe other mediums. I don't think I'm doing it right if this is the result.

No X-mas themed pic this year, been sick and injured the last few weeks and finding time and creative mood to focus on commissions has been hard enough lately u_u Not sure why, but my left leg has been hurting more and more over the course of the last 6 days; no clue why. Can barely walk on it. Then my drawing hand has been cramping up really hard; not sure if it's from not smoking CBD weed as much so I'm feeling the cramps more or what. Been painful last 3 weeks, for sure.

Also, tomorrow is a whole year without any alcohol or energy drinks, yay :) Lost about 48 pounds already by that and cutting the carbs and sugars. Saving a bunch of money too, which is good. Family is doing fine,busy with the lil grubs XD And when I can't sleep, been playing a bit of Cyberpunk 2077 finally. Been really liking it.

Haven't had one of these in awhile, let alone one this bad. Sorry, but no updates this weekend. I tried for the life of me to get something on paper and could barely even get a stick figure down without it being utter trash, so .. yeah. Sorry :(

For some reason, the last 3-4 days we've noticed our internet getting laggier and laggier.

Last night, it was so laggy that the XBoxes couldn't get past loading screens. Crossout on my PC couldn't load either, but my phone could still run RAID and Youtube was still working.

This morning at around 2AM, it got much worse, where even Yahoo Mail won't load. None of the XBoxes will even LOAD THE ACCOUNTS, and we're running at what reads out 130KB/S. That was around 3AM.

I can't even load in the ISP Speed Test site now. Somehow, FA is the only one that works slightly. But in an unrelated note, my PC is taking ages to load, and acts up for the first few minutes where the Taskbar is almost frozen. Virus scan found nothing. And my phone is having a hard time running.

I'm thinking there's some sort of electrical interference in my area perhaps?

Going to call the ISP in the morning though. 130KB/S is un-fucking-acceptable.

Anyways, might be some delays till we can figure out what the issue actually is.

For the record of what is/was going on:
So Saturday my family n I got some groceries and noticed that the price went up about $60 or so, so we had to dip into the gas-funds. My wife had about 4 or so hours of sleep, I had about the same, so after we unloaded (what we thought was) the last of the groceries, we both passed TF out. About 3 hours later, we wake up, and start working on stuff. Another 3 hours pass n I get hungry, so go look for something specific we bought just for that moment, and can't find it.

BOOM. Memory kicks in. There was one bag by the car-seat. Go there and find it, with about $40 in groceries, mostly meat. When it rains, it pour, right?

Long story short; I need to pull in about $50 or more to have gas to get to work, till next payday. Figured if anyone wants to get something, I can work out some deals. Toss some ideas , and when we get enough inbound I'll close this so the list doesn't get to far out of hand.

And of course, there are other commissions being done, but I try to do a phase for each person when possible, hence why some of the lists take awhile. Though my regulars tend to have a constant tab shuffled around.

ANYWAYS, that's enough rambling. If I don't get back outside, up the ladder, and finish that siding I won't hear the end of it.

Life has been really busy and crazy with all the kids, home construction, OT at work, and some health issues I've been going through. Nothing tragic or anything, not yet anyways, but some serious life changes have been in the works and more to come. Art has been going by slower last few weeks or months, I can't really tell anymore. Things are rushing by so fast time is just a blur.

As for myself, I just got a vasectomy, so I'm not going to be having kids anytime soon. That also means a week without lifting anything 10 pounds or more so I don't accidentally pop open the tubes in my fuzzy nuts. <8X SO, things have been a bit more laid back (literally and metaphorically), keeping calm and trying not to blow any hoses. I'll try to get some more art scribbles in next weekend :)

So I started to get better from that cold, and everyone else was in the clear. THEN. our 2 month old baby had breathing problems. We got him to the hospital and he was low enough on O2 that they had to hook him up to a breathing machine. He's been there with my wife since Wednesday. It looks like, long as he doesn't go downhill within the next couple of hours, that I'll be picking the up in a few hours.

That also means I've been working, then coming home and taking care of the other 2 kids. Art has been slow due to lack-of-sleep and lack-of-free-time.

Been trying to get some scribbling in between shifts at work, and that's been better then I thought it'd be, but sometimes I just need to sleep in the truck instead of draw.

Anywho, just keeping everyone updated.

Might be some delays, the whole house got hit with a bad cold. Wife n I were playing some Borderlands 3 and we both look at each other and go "Headache?" "Yeeeeup. You?" "Mmmhmm". Was strange, it hit us both at the same time. She's doing MUCH better, I got hit the worst and it's on the way out. Just letting everyone know this weekend might be a bit empty for uploads.

So I was in the shower a lil bit ago, and was contemplating some things; more specifically, how I don't feel like I've grown much as a man. I'm still doodling porn, still smoke weed, occasionally watch cartoons; nothing really significant in the ways of GROWTH as a person at all.

Then, I remembered one of my favorite quotes:

Now yes, it seems foolish to take life advice from a cursed fictional Disney pirate, sure. But the /context/ of the phrase still holds soundly. A rose, by any other name, and such. So I chose an event somewhat recently, and asked myself "What has changed since THIS point?" It's when we moved, 3 years ago. The area around our house was getting dangerous with rampant crime, so we needed to move. Had to leave a job that I loved. So what's changed in that time period:

Fixed up the house a bit more and sold it.
Learned how to drive with a trailer.
Paid off college debt + bought a cheaper house in some rural area with the house sale's money.
Moved, driving across a mountain range SEVERAL times to the new place. Once, with my car hooked as a trailer to the UHaul. That was terrifying.
Found a temporary job as a janitor in a different town. I hated that job. Had a guy try to break in, and pulled a gun on me and a security guy til we got him down and he was arrested. Then boss chewed me out for getting involved. I quit soon after.
Learned how to deal with wild fires and smoke problems they cause. Arsonists suck.
Learned how to do some basic plumbing, and fixed some plumbing issues on the house.
Learned how to do some basic electrical, and fixed some shorts in the house, installed new lines, replaced old switches and outlets, and installed some new lights.
Learned how to replace the house's siding and install insulation.
Rebuilt the front porch with a roof, and later did the same for the back porch.
Had a baby.
Built a massive chicken coop so we could get fresh eggs.
Built a gun and did some target practicing with it. Lots of big cats, bears, and coyotes in these areas.
Learned how to change the tires and brakes on the truck.
Learned how to change the battery + wipers too.
Learned how to change the spark plugs, the spark plug wires, and the fuel filter as well. Check Engine light kept popping on, but it seems to be fixed now.
Replaced the well-house's regulator. If the temp got below 5 degrees (which is almost every night for 3 months straight), we'd lose water pressure til about 1PM. I'd have to go out there and zap it around with a screwdriver til it came on; least til we figured out the problem.
Replaced the regular house's thermostat, and did some work on the HVAC system. It kept refusing to turn off.
Got I think 6 raises in the job I've had since quitting that janitor job.
Had another baby.
Quit drinking energy drinks due to a medical issue.
Quite drinking alcohol for the same reason. Things are looking better now; most of the symptoms have disappeared.

All this while working a 9-5 with occasional mandatory OT, and dealing with the Covid Lockdowns. And running my little art business here on the side. Perhaps ya see why I don't get online much anymore, eh? Also might explain some of my art delays, but that's more or less on me being easily distracted and not good with time management. I'm working on that. Well I will when my wife n I aren't running 3 hour sleep shifts to feed the baby.

It's been a crazy 3 years. And that's a lot of things to have done in those insane, short little 3 years.



So why this ramble? Honestly, I don't know. I'm always playing the role of team consular at work, I guess I just wanted to vent to the Ether. Perhaps someone out there can take this ramble and look at their life in a different perspective as well; hopefully for the positive. It really gave me a different outlook on the time that's passed. Improvements, no matter how small, are still improvements. Anyways, it's 11:30PM and I got to wake up in ~6 hours for work.

I wouldn't expect updates this weekend, my wife went into labor 2 weeks early. Had a few complications, resulting in a C-section, and everything went good.

I probably won't be home til Tuesday or so, so might not have any updates on things till next weekend, but I'll do what I can to get things progressing soon as possible.
