Heather Greenmire is one of my main OCs (and one of the most popular ones on this website), and she is a swamp witch. She lives in a world based on the Southern Gothic genre (not entirely, but heavily inspired). Spanish moss, alligators, spooky/macabre vibes... If you see any of the above in the art, then it is most likely related to Heather's world (even if she is not there). In this world, humans coexist with anthro/monsters/ghosts/undead and other creatures. And the central theme of the whole world is death, but, as you can see from the list of inhabitants, if you die, this does not always mean the end.
Heather, being a witch, can "be present" in both places. She prefers the company of ghosts and other otherworldly entities, because, for the most part, they are not as intrusive and fussy as the living. She is a hermit and generally is a rather aloof person who appreciates her (and others') space. If someone bothers her, there must be a reason for it - and usually it is work related to the dead. Someone disappeared in the swamps, and they need to find a body? Someone killed an innocent, and suffering relatives need to get in touch with the deceased's spirit? An unknown criminal escaped punishment and needs to be found? Heather can help with all of this. Especially when she gained enough witch experience, and especially in her "unhinged" form. The time for talking is over, it's time for action.

I moved - and I moved far. And it takes a lot of time and energy to adjust to the new place, so right now social media and art have to be put on the back burner. I'm in a bit "coma-ish" state and honestly I want to kick myself out of it. Not only it's all been sad and hard to deal with, November in Moscow isn't the best time in general because you literally have no sun anymore (always hidden by the heavy clouds, yay the Northern hemisphere), everything is grey and the actual day lasts for around 6 hours and is getting shorter and shorter, it's 3 pm right now and it's already getting dark. Plus I wasn't able to work properly. So I need some action - but not too much.

a couple of days ago.

To be honest, it was expected, but this is no less sad, of course. She was 85 years old, had dementia, as a result - she was acting strange sometimes, didn't want to talk to me on the phone or was hiding when I visited. But in her normal state she was a nice person, and I loved her. It is good that she didn't suffer and passed away calmly.
I don't like to share too many details of my personal life on the Internet, sometimes my artwork speaks for me anyway. But I want to clarify a couple of things this time. Since 2017, every year or two, I have to bury someone. Another grandmother of mine (but the relationship with her wasn't good, and her death was accompanied by a wild family drama with blackmailing and other "cool things"), my beloved cat Myava, right before covid - my dad, and now it is my grandma from my mother's side. Grandfathers passed away many years ago. I don’t know what to say here, except that it's hard every time. In different ways, but it is hard. Although time heals, it's true. And a lot of good, really important events also happened during this period.
Grief is a delicate thing. Everyone goes through it in their own way, but the essence is always the same - you have to get through it if it happens. You cannot try to deny it, as if nothing had happened, put pressure on yourself and pretend that everything is fine when it is not; and also you shouldn't fall into the endless despondency, lie on the couch for years while going crazy. It's not good for you.
So I'll get through it and everything will be fine. I just need some time to recover.

My mom got covid. Honestly the whole October was exhausting with all this computer bs, health stuff and other things I had to deal with, and this is just an apogee of nonsense. I don't really want to talk about it. Just letting you know that I'm finishing the work I have left and taking a break. The raffle I mentioned yesterday stays too. I just don't know how bad it's all gonna be and when I'll be able to get back to the art stuff.

I swear this autumn just keeps on giving. I'm so mad, never buy stupid ass hp, guys, even if it's "hp omen" whatever. Yeah, technically it was great, fast, good screen, practically every single piece of this crap had issues and needed replacement. And now it decided to die. The only working disk is the one that was replaced. Awesome.
I have most of my files backed up including the commissions so it's more or less fine. Just need time to buy a new one and adjust it for the work.
I'm sorry for the delays. I hate it all so much.
