Someday Came Suddenly
Posted 4 months agoI don't often post journals so much these days, but time around I wanted to say one thing in particular.
For a while now, I've uploaded art featuring my characters in a loosely-formatted series of serialized vignettes. However, like I said nearly a year ago, I'm going to rewrite a large chunk of those early chapters and scrap what came before. Tyson's world is fully formed now, and now I can tell a much more cohesive narrative. As I said back then, most of my gallery will stay the same, but with a sharper focus, I can better convey the story I've always had in mind. Although this will remain a passion project, my hope is to further hone my skills as a writer.
For further context, this vignette with Zayne will be the prologue to this new iteration, and I will periodically add more to it over time.
"My Throat is an Open Grave"
Ultimately, I think this will serve as a great starting point, and from here, I can thread the narrative I have in mind!
As always, I appreciate anyone who's ever bothered to read these journals or like anything I've posted here.
Thank you. ^_^

Someday Duly, Oneday Truly, Twosday Newly, Till Whensday
Posted a year agoThis is mostly a journal entry I wrote for myself, but feel free to read.
I've been thinking lately. For the longest time, I took a nonlinear approach to my creative pursuits here. As a creative outlet, I wanted to build a world and populate it with characters. However, over time, the narrative got lost in the clutter.
Originally, this whole thing, the vast majority of the characters and vignettes in my gallery, out of a short story I wanted to tell with Tyson and Trace. That story was meant to be a rather small, intimate affair. Over time, I wanted to build up more of their world, and that small, intimate short story was no longer the one I wanted to tell. I still want Tyson and Trace to be the focal point upon which the story is focused, but I want to tell more than just their story.
In short, without needing to drone on for too long, I'm going to rewrite a large chunk of those early chapters and scrap what came before. Now that their world is fully formed, I feel like I can better tell a more cohesive narrative. The vast majority of what's on my gallery will stay the same, but now that my writing's improved, I want to apply a sharper focus to this passion project. Other aspects of it will be retconned to better fit this new approach.
Either way, if you're at all curious in what I do, I'd like to post more about this in the near future when I have everything properly outlined.
As always, thank you. ^_^

Future Mature and Adult Submissions
Posted 2 years agoFor the entire time I've been active on this site, I've been hesitant to post any mature art with my characters or adult art in general. If I'm going to be honest, I had a specific vision for what I wanted to display on my page, but I've begun to reevaluate. Moving forward, I'd like to try a new approach.
Now more than ever, I'm open to having mature and adult art on my page. That said, even with this newfound openness, any adult art I commission will be posted to my scraps. The same with any older artwork and inks/sketches. I will upload any mature art to my main gallery, but these will still be few and far between.
In short, don't expect much to change, but I want to have more variety in my gallery. That is my goal with this new approach.

If There's No Wedding Reception, The Gargoyle King Has Wo...
Posted 4 years agoI can't believe that it's been so long since I wrote another journal entry! Two years doesn't seem like that long ago, but time flies when you're kept busy. ^_^
Anyway, I wanted to bring up one thing in particular with this new entry. That being I'm going to revise earlier chapters A Wish Full of Dreams and repost them here and elsewhere in the coming months.
Originally, when I wrote those earlier chapters and posted them here years ago, I didn't envision the world that would spring up from them. They were about Tyson and his guardian spirit Trace. In the years that followed, this story began to encompass not only Tyson's journey to find his lost friend, Daeja, but a much larger world with a much larger cast and MANY more moving parts. In fact, most of what you see on this page directly grew out of that short story I wrote so many years ago.
However, I feel like there's a disconnect between what I wrote back then and what the story grew into years later. In order to rectify this, I felt it necessary to revise those earlier chapter to reflect the narrative I now want to tell. With this in mind, I plan on starting from the very beginning to smooth over whatever wrinkles I find. That way the story I present is more in line with the world that I've come to love exploring.
So if you're at all curious, I plan to start revising some time soon, and you should see more from me in that regard in the coming months!
Thank you so much for reading all this weird stuff! ^-^

The Dolls' Father is a Handsome Widower Named Richard
Posted 6 years agoIt's crazy to think it's been nine months since I last posted a journal entry, but to be honest, there wasn't much to discuss. Although, now things are much different! ^^
For one, I've changed the title to my furry writing project. It's now called A Wish Full of Dreams.
For a long time, I wasn't terribly satisfied with its name or a couple chapters I'd since posted. I don't want to reach a point where I'm constantly rewriting old content, but now I can say that I'm very happy with how my characters are portrayed. Also, to be honest, I wanted to make sure I didn't inadvertently cause any plotholes later down the road. >.>
Anyway, now that I've got everything in order, I'm hoping to finish up in the near future! ^_^
You can read the whole story so far on my Penana page:
https://www.penana.com/story/2703/a.....-of-dreams/toc
Or you can read them sequentially on Furaffinity:

You Can't Be a Hero With a Name Like "The Mangler"
Posted 7 years agoHey y'all! It's been some time since I've posted an update, so I figure now's the best time. ^_^
Now that it's 2019, I've got a few goals pertaining to my projects I'd like to manifest throughout the year! For one, I've been posting more than I have in the past, and I want to keep that up for the most part. I've got about six commissions in the pipeline as of this writing, and that doesn't include character sheets. Ultimately, I want to have a sheet made for all the myriad characters in Tyson's story, but for now, I want to focus on the main cast. I've had sheets made of four other characters in that universe, but until later this year, I want to give focus to Tyson's group of seven comrades. ^^
Also, my goal is to finish Tyson and Trace's origin story by year's end. I'm thinking that should be fairly easy for me to accomplish since it's not far from completion. It's just been so much material to maintain. However, the project has helped me grow as a writer. At least, that's my assessment as of now. For all I know, very little has changed, and I'm merely delusional. What else is new though? XD
Anyway, if you're at all interested in checking out the whole story thus far, you can read it by clicking on the link below:
https://www.penana.com/user/1057/nazcapilot
Or if you prefer to read it here instead, you can start with this post:
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/16818465/
Most, if not all, of the art I post here is directly related to that above story. So if you're curious about anything I've submitted and how it all fits together, that may help give you the appropriate context.
Lastly, I'd be remiss if I didn't give a shout out to
coffinberry for sketching Daeja! As somebody who's loved her art for years, having her choose to sketch one of my characters was an absolute delight! I can't thank her enough for this:

By Street Decree, You Are Now Leader of Our Karate Gang
Posted 7 years agoI just wanted to update anyone who's interested that I have uploaded the 11th addition of In the Shadow of Your Horns to my Penana page! You can read it here:
https://www.penana.com/user/1057/nazcapilot
Although, if you've seen this image already, it's the corresponding short story to "The Weapon They Fear":
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/25638522/
I just posted it in accordance to where it would best fall in the overall narrative.
I had about 5,000 words worth of a draft for the second half of "Lamentations of an Icarus - Part V", but instead, I reached a decision wherein that portion would be best served as most of Part VII. I'm hoping to have Part VI online within a month. Honestly, I'd prefer to post at least one chapter every month. That's my goal for the moment.
Ultimately, I may even change the name of their entire story at some point soon; but until then I will keep the name.
Also, I'd like to note that I should have four more pieces from
aerokat by year's end; but I'd like to get more art from other artists in the meantime. In the end, I'd like to get some character sheets of the principle cast. That will take some time, but I know it'll be cool to have that realized!
Anyway, that's all I've got to say for now. Thank you so very much for listening to me ramble this long. I hope you all have a great day. ^_^

The Field Mouse is Fast, But The Owl Sees at Night
Posted 7 years agoI realized that my post was a little too somber for my liking, so I came to change that. ^_^
I just wanted to confirm that I'm here, and I plan on resuming work on my projects starting today. ^^
Specifically, they include Tyson and Trace's story, In the Shadow of Your Horns, as found on my Penana page:
https://www.penana.com/user/1057/nazcapilot
Individual chapters are on my Furaffinity profile, too, but it may be easier to follow the story there.
I still have a half-dozen art pieces coming detailing characters and events therein, so it'll be cool to show them once they're done!
Also, if I remain productive, I'd like to get a draft of my first novel done by year's end. Aside from that, there's not much else to report. I just felt like sharing news.
With that said, I hope you all have a great summer!
Lastly, 4000 Kiriban! Thank you!!!

I Hope They Have Corn Chips in Heaven
Posted 7 years agoIf you ask me, moments of extreme discomfort can prove to be a requisite catalyst for necessary change. I'm not sure if I've said as much to some extent over the course of my life; but that's how I feel right now. Personally, time and time again, I find it easy to succumb to inertia; and if there's anything I want to do going forward is to overcome this inaction. This fatalistic impulse to stop trying altogether.
I will say that I've seen better days, but I don't want to wallow in self-pity. I want to return to creating. Regardless of outcomes, reading and writing always made me feel better whenever I felt barren.
I've only got so much time on this Earth, and I'd like to use it to pursue my passions. If it's time spent in joy was it ever truly spent in waste?
More or less, I'm writing this for my own sake. I'm not sure anyone will read this, but it does help to get this out into the open. I'd even argue that it's therapeutic.
I hope to post more stuff soon.
To anyone who actually read this post, you're as weird as I am for writing it. Thanks. XD

In The Shadow of Your Horns - Revision Update
Posted 7 years agoI just wanted to announce that I've updated "Servant in Place of Truth". It's the second overall chapter in Tyson and Trace's story, and it's experienced a much needed revision. A lot of work went into making Tyson's parents, his father and stepmother, seem more warm and affectionate. In hindsight, the two of them may have come across as colder than envisioned, and I'm thinking this should rectify that. I also altered the confrontation at the end to potentially avoid a plothole.
My friend
gragor helped with the editing process, and for his help, I'm truly thankful. ^^
If you'd like to read the revision, feel free to check it out here:
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/16991419/
Also, if the chapter still needs revising, I will tweak at it in the coming days. ^_^

Lamentations of an Icarus - Part V - 1 of 2 - Is Now Online
Posted 7 years agoIt's been about a month since I've last posted an update, but I wanted to take the time to explain that half of Lamentations of an Icarus - Part V is available to read!
I'm almost done with the other half, and I'll post that other half on my Penana page when it's done by the end of March! Since the chapter is non-linear, there won't be any confusion later down the road. Simply put, I was very happy with the final draft, and I wanted it out there after so many months without a single update.
Once done, I should be able to post the full chapter here on Furaffinity! ^_^
If you'd like to read it now, you can follow Tyson and Trace's continuing adventures by clicking on the link here:
https://www.penana.com/user/1057/nazcapilot
EDIT: Also, I'm going to revise a few more portions of the early chapters in light of recent feedback. ^^

Corn Chips Are No Place for a Mighty Warrior!
Posted 8 years agoHappy New Year!!! I hope y'all are doing well! :D
I've put off writing this journal for a number of days, but I wanted to convey a few things now that 2018 is still fresh and new. ^_^
There's a lot I want to accomplish this year, so I don't spend much time dawdling. One of these goals is to complete Tyson and Trace's origin story. It's the story which serves as the foundation for their world, so I want to get it done at some point soon.
I don't know why, but this chapter has given me the most difficult time, and I don't know why. LOL!
Thankfully, it's not too far from completion. I've got about a thousand more words until the rough draft is ready to edit. And that editing process may take me a couple days, but it's worth it.
Also, the other big writing goal I wish to fulfill is to write my first novel. I've had these ideas on hand for many years now, and I want to utilize them after all this time. Even if that is done by year's end, I really want to finish it, edit it and perhaps submit it for publication. Ultimately, that's the target, so we'll see where this year takes me in the coming months! :D
If you're at all interested in their story up to this point, you can catch up by following this link:

Anyway, I hope you all have a wonderful new year! Thanks for reading. ^^

Louis Armstrong's Ghost Tells Me To Do Bad Things
Posted 8 years agoI'm almost done! I just know it. As of now, the rough draft "Lamentations of an Icarus - Part V" is about 7,750 words in total. Late last month, I estimated that I'd finish with 6,500. And now it would seem that the final total will be around 9,000. I've had a lot of fun creating lately, and I can't wait to share it with you guys! And once this draft is finished, I plan to retool a few things. I want to edit a couple more chapters soon thereafter. Once done, I'll post this newest addition to my Penana page here:
https://www.penana.com/user/1057/nazcapilot
Of course, I will also post it here along with any new artwork featuring the characters!
As always, thank you to anyone who has ever taken time out of their day to read my work. It's all greatly appreciated. ^_^

I Don't Care if You're Old. Seize the Gap!
Posted 8 years agoHello again! I just wanted to say a few things, but I wanted to update things for the time being. :)
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to finish what I had set out to do at the beginning of last month, but I'm not far from completion. Part V of "Lamentations of an Icarus" was first meant to have four mid-sized scenes and be non-linear. However, this is no longer the case. I made the decision to split up the remaining build-up to the climax into two separate mid-sized chapters in lieu of having one that would be about 15,000 words. Ultimately, I felt like that would make that draft far too unwieldy. So Part V and Part VI will come soon after the other and be linear. Part V is almost done. I just need to finish both scenes and edit. Consequently, Part VI is half done. With this newfound focus, the draft for Part V should be done relatively soon. I'd even like to finish Part VI some time this month, as well. I do hope to get it finished so that I can I get to the real meat of the climax. My goal is to have the entirety of In the Shadow of Your Horns completed by year's end. It's essentially the origin story that I wanted to tell and needed to be told so that I continue on with the larger narrative I have in mind. There's only the climax in Part VII and the epilogue afterwards left to tell. Once finished, this novel will be complete! After this is done I'll post the whole story on my Penana page and here if possible.
If you want to read the whole story thus far, follow this link here:

Or if you'd rather just read the whole story in sequential order on this site, then start here:

I'm also hoping to do more than just furry fiction. I'd also like to work on separate projects. One of which is an idea I've had for years, but I've been unable to do anything with it. If I can put this idea to good use, then I'll send that to a publishing house for potential publication.
Apropos of nothing, I'm also incredibly stoked for the new Veil of Maya album, "False Idol". Their newest single was released a few weeks ago, and I can barely keep it together. It's exciting that this new record and the next season of Stranger Things will come out later this month! So much cool stuff is happening!

Why Not Let Them Be Happy, And Revel as Babes?
Posted 8 years agoHello! I want to keep this brief for now. For one, I'm still alive. XD
As of now, I'm using my time this month to finish "Lamentations of an Icarus - Part V". I've set a hard deadline for myself to have the final draft completed by October 1st. Thankfully, there isn't so much to do, but this chapter took longer than I expected. Honestly, I spent some time going over my material so I wouldn't inadvertently create a plothole or two while crossing the finish line. It was fun to world-build for a while, but now I want to give this story closure. There's still plenty left to tell afterwards, so this won't be the last you see of Tyson, Trace and the rest in action.
I should also have about a dozen new pictures coming in the months, as well! So stay tuned on that front! ^_^
I know how this will end, and the path before me is no longer hazy. I want to set up a larger world within this text for future pieces and edit a few things about the other chapters. It's really exciting! I have no idea how long I'm going to keep this up, but I appreciate anyone who's ever taken time out of their day to read my work. I deeply appreciate it.

What? They Don't Have San Diego in Europe?
Posted 8 years agoWell, I did it! I know that it's very late, but I took the time to rewrite the first chapter of In the Shadow of Your Horns. It's been edited here and uploaded on both Penana and Wattpad. I also gave it a new title, "The Black Wings of the Morning", to mark the occasion:
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/16818465/
I'm very pleased with the end result! Truthfully speaking, I was fine with the old draft for a while, but now that it's been sufficiently fleshed out, the older draft almost embarrasses me in comparison. To be fair, don't we tend to be our worst critics?
The story so far can be found on FA, but I'm hoping to alter a few more aspects of the subsequent chapters in the near future. They'll likely be minor details that need further refinement. Once complete, I will uploaded these new drafts to FA, Penana and my Wattpad account, as well:
www.wattpad.com/user/nazcapilo…
I hope to finish "Lamentations of an Icarus - Part V" in conjunction with this endeavor. ^_^
Thank you for humoring me and my rambling. I appreciate anyone who's ever taken the time to read my work.

Stay Back, Ethel. The Streets Belong to the Machines Now.
Posted 8 years agoHello there! I just wanted to say a few things. For one, I'm likely to post more of my story on both Penana and Wattpad. I discovered it very recently, and it does look like an intriguing avenue worthy of my time. It does give me an excuse to revamp the first chapter of In the Shadow of Your Horns. I'm not thoroughly displeased with it, but I do think it pales in comparison to the chapters that followed it. I'd like to add more description and foreshadowing. I may even do that with a few others, but I don't want to go overboard in this pursuit. I'd like to finish "Lamentations of an Icarus - Part V" soon, so I'd like to do these two separate tasks simultaneously.
If you have no idea what I'm talking about here, feel free to follow the link below:
www.penana.com/user/1057/nazca…
Of course, you can also read the story so far here, but I'm unsure if the files will open. XD
Also, I can't help but feel saddened at the loss of Chester Bennington. I literally gasped when I read the news. I was taken completely by surprise. My heart goes out to not only the lads in Linkin Park but also Chester's family, as well. Linkin Park was integral in helping me form my taste in music as a kid in middle school. My childhood's practically encapsulated within their first two albums. Chester left behind an enormous legacy, and I'll never be able to listen his music the same way again. I will always cherish the music he helped create. God willing, it will outlast us all.
The sun will set for you, Chester.

Posted 8 years agoWell, it's been long enough. I've recently posted the new addition to my ongoing project In the Shadow of Your Horns. If anyone is at all interested, you find it as Issue #9 on my Penana page here:
www.penana.com/user/1057/nazca…
The new chapter added was essentially the short vignette I posted with Safehavens:
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/23989703/
I hope to get the final few chapters done in a matter of time. So if you like any of what you see here, then check back here every so often!
Not much has happened in my life lately. I'm still on the hunt for better full-time work. My birthday was a month ago, and I got some cool stuff and spent time with loved ones.
Recently, I've gotten into Kingdom Hearts, and I'm geared up to play Kingdom Hearts 2. ^^
I was heartening to see a truly good movie from the DCEU in Wonder Woman, and I've got high hopes for Spider-Man: Homecoming. Ultimately, I'd want both franchises to find critical and financial success!
Lastly, I feel like I need to go back and watch more episodes of Twin Peaks. I've been watching the third season lately, and boy am I oftentimes at a loss for words even after seeing the bulk of the original series. It's not often I feel compelled to take notes while watching television, but that's where this show has taken me. :P
Anyway, that's about it. If you got this far, thanks for enduring this rambling journal entry. You're rad for being so patient. ^_^

We Will Meet Many More Times in the Sequel
Posted 8 years agoAs of right now, my goal is to finish with this latest addition of Under the Shadow of Your Horns. To be honest, I feel disappointed in myself. It's taken me far too long to finish it. It's not really so much of an obligation. All things considered, I want to get it done for the simple fact that I love these characters and want to tell their story. I guess long hours at work and other key factors have made it hard to get everything I want to happen come in fruition.
I'm almost where I'd like to be, but there's still so much that requires more self-discipline. For months I've found it hard to focus whenever I have found time to write. So many things vied for my interest in any given moment. I'm trying so very hard to finish it. The entire piece contains over 50K words in total, and the rough draft of this newest chapter now stands at 5K. I'm so very close to reaching my goal. That finish line is still in sight. I know it's more of a passion project, but if I'm able to complete it, then I'll have the confidence to move along with other projects. If this draft does inevitably exceed 10K, I will wrap it up.
I need to put myself out their here and elsewhere, too. I've struggled with that for the longest time. My natural introversion has often made it hard for me to venture outside my comfort zone. Yet real growth only comes from moving beyond it. More than anything, I need to move and keep at it. It's just not possible to go anywhere if I don't make those first steps in any direction.
I don't want to waste more words on this issue. It's time to put up or shut up. The next time you hear from me through a journal is when I've finished.
As always, I deeply appreciate anyone who has ever read my work. I deeply appreciate it. More than you know.

I Stand for the Opposite of Killing: Gnodab
Posted 8 years agoIt's hard for me to fathom that we're four months into 2017. It doesn't feel like it should be April. It's just not right, I tell you! XD
Anyway my goal for now is to finish In the Shadow of Your Horns by year's end. It's not as if I've got a lot to write, but in recent months, my job began to zap me of most of my creative energy. I won't lie, there have been times when I'd come home and be too tired to gain much in the way of progress. I know I'm almost to a point where I can manage my workload and write at a steady pace. I feel like I've been able to make it work as of late! I'm about halfway through writing my rough draft of Part V. I'm trying to take it slowly for now. I want to be able to clip along much faster, but my perfectionist tendencies often get in the way. I get better at it the more I work. If it do just a little amount each day, then I get ever closer toward my goal. ^_^
I'd love to finish the whole thing, tweak it after the fact and see if I can get it published later down the road! As of now, I'd rather not post another journal until it's about done.

I'm Beginning to Suspect My Therapist is a Pirate
Posted 8 years agoIt won't be long until I'm finished with the next chapter of In the Shadow of Your Horns. I chose to split up this chapter since what I compiled over the past few months was becoming too long and unwieldy. I'm hoping to get "Lamentations of an Icarus - Part V" posted soon. I'm thinking it will only have anywhere from 6 - 8 thousand words in total apiece. That will probably remain my cut-off for each successive addition moving forwards.
You can read the full story up to this point on my Penana page:
www.penana.com/user/1057/nazca…
Like always, I very much appreciate anyone who has ever taken the time to read my work. Thank you. ^_^
Also, it absolutely broke my heart to learn that
genecatlow passed away the other day. While I hadn't kept up with his comic in many years, it was still the first furry comic I'd ever read. Albert Temple will be sorely missed.
I pray for his family and hope he's now at peace.

I Was Laughing Super Hard as Darnell Was Dying
Posted 9 years agoI feel like I'm now moving at a productive pace now that I've gotten into a manageable rhythm with work and my social life. The rough draft Part V of Icarus stands now at 4,000 words in total. My goal is to have it done within a month and have it rest at no more than 12,000 words. I don't want each part to be overlong, so I may end up breaking it down into two separate chapters if I approach 12,000. Part IV was 14.5K, and that may have been a tad overwhelming since that is almost one-quarter's worth of a novel. I won't seek to make this upcoming addition that long, but it can easily happen if there's more left to tell than first assumed. This whole story will probably be around 75,000 words in total when it's done. I'm hoping to even have it published at some point, but there are a few things I'd like to do before I consider that. ^_^
For one, I may remove all traces of In the Shadow of Your Horns if that were to happen. I've got no idea what may be the best approach if that were to actually happen, but I'll happily cross that bridge once that day comes. ^^
For now, Tyson's and Trace's story is all here and on my Penana page:
https://www.penana.com/user/1057/nazcapilot
I'd like to rework "Under His Wings You Shalt Trust" very soon. I don't want to do this with everything I've posted, but I feel like that draft is somewhat bare in its presentation compared to everything else. Also, I'm going to add new thumbnails with Roman numerals for each submission. In the future, I won't only submit a Word document. I'll post the text in its entirety along with a Word document in case they don't open properly for whatever reason. With this in mind, I'm going to add the text for each submission I've got on my gallery.
As I said before, I'd like to add maybe one or two midquels to tie up any loose ends and add context. So in other words, it's going to be a very busy year. X3
I'm very happy with the direction I've taken with their story, and I'm very enthusiastic to keep pushing forward! :D

We Have Purposely Trained Him Wrong as a Joke
Posted 9 years agoWith 2016 coming to an end, I've had a few things on my mind.
I had wanted to finish this one story by year's end, but as of now, that won't likely happen. Although, it still seems possible that the latest chapter of In the Shadow of Your Horns will be completed by New Years. If it won't be done by then, it should be finished shortly thereafter in early January. Like I said before, it's hard for me to think about the fact that I have enough material right now to constitute a novel in the traditional sense. With that in my mind, I'm hoping to not only complete the "Lamentations of an Icarus" portions but to add in more midquels for the purpose of providing more context surrounding the story at large. Ultimately, I'm having just too much fun building Tyson's world and the people and places that occupy it. ^_^
I'd also like to continue with Methusaleh's Inheritance some time next year, too. I had toyed with the idea of expanding upon that initial first chapter, but it was originally meant to be a one-off short story that arose from a dream. I'd like to try and play with it and see what develops.
I'd really like to get even more done come 2017. I feel like I've gotten enough of what I wanted done put out there, but there was more that could have materialized. Regardless, I have hope that I will be even more productive. :)
You can read both In the Shadow of Your Horns and Methusaleh's Inheritance by clicking on this link:

It's Never Too Late to Turn John Cena Heel
Posted 9 years agoA lot has happened lately. Some good and some not as much.
Just recently, the Chicago Cubs became World Series champs for the first time in over 108 years. System of a Down have a new album confirmed for 2017. I haven't listened to them since high school, but listening to their music again still makes me happy. At the least, it's been fun to revisit these guys after all these years.
I haven't heard anything off Toxicity in ages. Listening to "Chop Suey!" again puts me back in freshman year:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CSvFpBOe8eY
Also, I know now that I'm contesting for a producer position. Interviews will take place in the near future, and I'd love to land this job. Either way, in the interim, I'm planning for a number of contingencies. I'll never put all my eggs in one basket.
Apart from all that, deep down, I'm crestfallen but alive. I'm not particularly enthused with this past election or the result. But it won't help to wallow in misery over it. A part of me does worry for the LGBT community in the next two to four years, but now's not the time to fall apart. I want to use this time to exercise my faith. Whatever disappointment I feel now should fuel productive activity. I don't wish ill upon our nation, but I know we can do better. Until then, I'm going to write, read and play video games. I can't give up on life just yet. There's always reason to keep moving.
Lastly, I'm hoping to use November to begin finishing up this first short story with Tyson and his guardian demon, Trace. Then again, as of now, it's not so short. I find it astonishing that I have more than enough material for a novel. It's weird to think I've written that much, and I'm not even done! I've got two more chapters and the epilogue left to complete. I should have the next installment done before the end of the month. My goal is to also even finish the whole thing by New Year's. I know that such a goal isn't too far out of reach if I just keep my eye on the prize.

Colonel, We've Managed to Avoid Drowning!
Posted 9 years agoI want to take this time to say that I've included more material to my story, In the Shadow of Your Horns, to my Penana page. I added two separate chapters that specifically center around Tyson's friends. Both vignettes were written to accompany a piece of commissioned art, but over time I felt like I should add them into the overall story being presented. Incorporating all these characters was part of my plan anyway, so why not make their introductions all the more explicit?
So this vignette, featured here, has additional content:

You can read everything by clicking on this link:

But the whole story can still be found on this site, too.
Anyway, as always, I'm deeply thankful for anyone who has ever taken the time to read all the crazy stuff I've written. ^-^
