That was fast!
Posted 6 years agoWhen I moved up here to Wisconsin, I had a couple job interviews lined up for when I got here—one on the 28th, and one on the 29th. Both of them offered me a position, so I had to actually make a decision to where I wanted to go. In the end, I chose working as a night auditor at a hotel. My reasons were that it’s closer to the apartment, the pay rate is higher, and that the manager already told me I can keep myself entertained via my phone, laptop, etc. during my downtime between tasks. The other place was farther, had a lower pay rate (though I could make it up with sales and services performed), and that since it was a rather small store, I feel I’d be bored between customers and have nothing to keep myself entertained.
But anyway, I’ve got a job now, and I start Wednesday night for training. Just a quick 3-hour session to show me how things are done, and then they’ll start getting me on the night time stuff later in the week!

Made it safe!
Posted 6 years agoJust wanted to let everyone know that I made it to my destination safe and sound yesterday. I was pretty tired by the time we got everything set up (I woke up around 3 AM Friday morning) and I spent the night in my new home and slept like a rock. A new adventure begins!
Will be away most of the day
Posted 6 years agoToday, the 26th, I will be driving up to Wisconsin, as I’ll be moving into my brother’s and, if things work out, I’ll possibly be staying in that city for the foreseeable future. As it will be about 9.5 hours accounting for food, gas, and bathroom breaks, I will more than likely be unable to check messages for most of the day, and only be able to do so during the aforementioned stops, as well as when I get into my hotel tonight. Here’s hoping I get there safely, and if anyone wants to wish me well, it’d be greatly appreciated!

April is Brooke Bunny Month!
Posted 6 years agoI've been seriously neglecting my bunny girl Brooke for a while, so to make it up, I'm going to be uploading pics featuring her in April! Nate MAY have a secondary role in them, but the redheaded rabbit will be the primary focus! Look forward to the first of the pics to be posted tomorrow!
Post surgery update
Posted 6 years agoFirst off, thanks for everyone who sent me positive vibes, prayers, thoughts, or whatever.
The surgery was very quick, as the surgeon could not find signs of a hernia. I was discharged around 930 AM yesterday. I would've made a journal to let you guys know then, but I was absolutely exhausted. After staying up until about 130 PM, I passed out until about 11 PM to take some medicine, then went back to sleep until about 530 this morning. I'm in good spirits, though a little sore in the incision area.
So I guess the culprit, instead of a hernia, may have been a pulled/strained muscle that's taking an EXTREMELY long time to heal.

Surgery tomorrow
Posted 6 years agoWell, I've gotta be at the hospital before 530 AM CT to prep for my procedure. Here's hoping everything goes smoothly, and that they get to the bottom of this pain and fix the problem. Lord knows I can't keep missing work due to the pain I'm experiencing!
Wish me luck, send good vibes, keep me in your thoughts, say a prayer, or whatever. I'm gonna need every last bit TT^TT

Surgery confirmed
Posted 6 years agoI go in for a laparoscopic surgery on the morning of the 26th. Surgeon wasn’t 100% sure I had a hernia due to how high it was, but didn’t rule it out completely. He said that if he finds it with the robot/camera combo he’ll use for the procedure, he’ll fix it, wake me up and send me home. If he can’t find anything, he’ll just call it a diagnostic procedure and patch me up.
Wish me luck everyone!

Update with doctor
Posted 6 years agoAfter the doc gave me the news of a forming hernia, he showed me a few exercises to build my core and possibly push it back, though he mentioned if the pain persisted, got worse, or I felt a pop in the area, I shouldn’t wait until the revisit. Well, the pain was getting worse and expanding into certain areas between my legs. He’s now going to schedule a consultation with a surgeon at the local hospital soon. Looks like surgery is in my future. Hopefully my insurance will cover a great deal of it...
Doctor finally gave me news
Posted 7 years agoSo, over the last month or so, I’ve been having pain in my lower abdomen on ny left side. Two clinic visits had no real results, so I went to my father’s doctor, and he figured out my problem in a few minutes what two clinics couldn’t tell me in three weeks—I have a hernia forming.
He said I can contain it with some core muscle exercises, since my core muscles at the moment are “like butter”, though if the pain doesn’t go away, gets worse, or the hernia fully forms, I’ll probably need surgery to fix it. Here’s hoping the exercises work...

I'm gonna get sentimental a bit here (long journal ahead)
Posted 7 years agoAs we enter the final 24 hours of 2018, I wanted to look back on the year and say something.
2018 was probably one of the worse years in my life. I went through half of it jobless, and you all saw those depressing vent journals I posted somewhat often. I've had my ups and downs, and a lot more of the latter. But those of you that are still with me, I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
All my watchers, all the friends I've made on here, all the people that commented on my depressing journals in an attempt to show me that I wasn't alone... you guys and gals are the very best.
There's too many of you to name, but a few I personally want to thank.
MKbuster for being one of my closest friends and talking me through my depressive episodes, going so far as to stick around even when I didn't want to listen, being a bright spot when my mind went into its darkest places, and being there to pick me up when I fell to very low points. You are one of my best friends, man, and I truly wish I could do more to repay you.
To
lemonapoptarts for being someone I can vent to any time when life and family drive me to the edge of my sanity. You are a true friend, and I wish we weren't so far apart--I would love to hang out with you and Gary sometime!
To
ladyjulie who I've gotten to know better over the past year. You've proven to me that I can be considered cute/handsome, and though I still have a long way to go in terms of self-esteem, you've given me a great first step into feeling comfortable about myself.
Perhaps most of all, to my dear friend
nezumiyuki. Not many of you know this, but while dealing with one of those dark spots in my mind, I nearly lost the battle to my own emotions. I had the knife against my throat, ready to slice, but thought better of it. I was scared, so I wrote to Yuki asking for help, and she ended up posting a whole journal asking for help from other friends for recommendations of what to do with someone who was about to go over the edge. She showed me that my friends really do care a lot about me, and that was proof enough that she does care a great deal about me, despite the fact that we've never actually met in person. You are amazing, Yuki, and I love you as much as a person can without having romantic feelings (although our fursonas might actually be in that latter category!).
Anyway, you are all amazing to me, and I truly feel blessed that you follow me to see what I've gotten from various artists from around this site. It's an honor and a privilege that people actually like what I post, and that they're willing to lend a hand, a voice, or a suggestion when I'm feeling down. I truly don't deserve you all.
Those mentioned here, and many, MANY more, are all my friends, and I can't wait to see what 2019 has in store for all of us!

Birthday in three days
Posted 7 years agoAnd since it's three days to go, I may as well throw a nod to Majora's Mask, considering I'm scheduled to be working on my birthday. I've suffered a horrible fate, haven't I?
Birthday is coming up soon
Posted 7 years agoOctober 1st is the magic day, which is 11 days away. Fun fact: I share a birthday with Zach Galifianakis, Mark McGwire, and the founding of NASA.
It's also the birthday of another fur in the community,
gogglesbengallum. Share some birthday cheer to him, too!

About one month away
Posted 7 years agoIn 31 days (October 1st), it will be my 31st birthday. I'll probably get a little more excited as I get closer to the day, but right now I'm pretty chill. Gift art is appreciated but, of course, not necessary. I'll be happy with just a shout saying happy birthday.
Speedy August
Posted 7 years agoWhere did all of August go? It’s like I got hired last week, and suddenly it was two weeks later! It won’t be long until it’s October 1st and I turn 31! Honestly I wish time would slow down in spots so I could enjoy things for longer ;A;
I haz job!
Posted 7 years agoJust got hired as a stocker at a grocery store literally 1.5 miles away from my house. My jobless streak is over!
Possible good news
Posted 7 years agoHello watchers!
I had my interview yesterday, and the store manager set up another interview for earlier this evening with the department head. After having it, he said he’ll let the first guy (the store manager) do the hiring, citing that he didn’t “want to give me a rate lower than what he (SM) wants to give me,” and he also said he looks forward to working with me. He then said he’ll have me meet with him again tomorrow afternoon.
There’s a very small chance that they’re playing responsibility hot potato here, but I’m about 85% sure that I’m going to have a job as of tomorrow afternoon. I’ll let you guys know for sure if that actually happens or not. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Interview shortly
Posted 7 years agoI have a job interview in about 30 minutes. The place is only about a 3-4 minute drive from my house, so I don’t have to leave too early. Hopefully this ends up positive on my end, but I’m still nervous. Wish me luck...

Regarding Nate having multiple partners
Posted 7 years agoHello everyone!
I've had some push back lately about Nate having multiple partners, or dating multiple people. Hopefully I can explain this.
I had never intended for my fursona, Nate Bowler, to exist solely in one universe. Rather, I wanted him to be present in more than one facet, sort of existing in multiple forms. For example, in one universe, Nate is married to a mouse named Maggie, who belongs to my friend
blueratmatt. He and I have come to an agreement that the marriage stays within those characters' universe. Meaning, whatever happens between those two is canon within that universe, but doesn't affect his relationship with other characters outside of that storyline.
Fans of my buddy
crazyassbeethoven's webcomic, Keeping Up With Thursday, may have noticed Nate appear in a brothel in 1890s Britain, or paired with his character Funday. No, he's not a time-traveler, but rather just a version of him that fit the mold of the universe he's in.
What I'm trying to say is that Nate can exist in multiple forms thanks to the Multiverse Theory. While many of his multiple incarnations have different images or traits that fit that universe, there's still a few things that stand firm with Nate, like believing in a monogamous relationship, being a gentleman (with a naughty side in private), and always being respectful of women. Just because one Nate gets betrothed doesn't mean ALL of them do.

Ancestry DNA Test RESULTS
Posted 8 years agoLast month I mentioned I sent off a sample to test my DNA for its heritage. Today I learned that my results were in, and this is what I got!
100% European
-90.3% Northwestern European
--47.3% French & German
--13.4% British & Irish
--12.6% Scandinavian
--16.9% Broadly Northwestern European
-5% Southern European
--2% Balkan
--1.9% Italian
--1.2% Broadly Southern European
-2.7% Eastern European
-2.1% Broadly European
I didn't know if I had any other heritage other than the Irish and German ancestry, but I'm actually kinda sad that I'm not just white, I'm COMPLETELY white. But one thing I learned of my paternal lineage is that I share a common ancestor with King Louis XVI of France. Kinda interesting seeing as how he was a plutocratic king that was beheaded in the French Revolution, whereas I'm one of the people who would support a French Revolution-like uprising here in America
Also, I find it hilarious that when white supremacists take these kinds of tests, they come back with mixed ancestry like African, Asian, or Native American. And yet I'm one of these people that promotes equality and unity among all people, and I'm the one that comes back with a 100% European background. XD

I have no job now. Anyone interested in story commissions?
Posted 8 years agoSo after some personal conflicts won out, I am now without a job. While I look for a new one, I want to promote that I’m always open for story commissions. I charge $10 per 1000 words, making it one penny per word. If you’d commission me, I’d be greatly humbled that you’d want my work. Also, if anyone could boost my signal, I’d greatly appreciate it!
