Some differences between Minecraft and Dwarf Fortress:
Reactions to exploding creatures, in DF you unleash lava upon them, in MC you run the fuck away from them.
Creating giant buildings, in MC, jump and place blocks beneath yourself, in DF, hope the alcoholics don't get crushed while it's being made.
Digging through nearly undiggable materials, in MC, fall into nothingness, in DF, unleash the legions of hell.
Hell, in MC, a different dimension that requires a lot of preparation, and you're probably screwed because your entrance/exit gets destroyed by the demons, in DF, demons spill out into your fortress, ensuring a lot of Fun.
Conclusion? They're mostly the same, except DF is a whole hell of a lot harder. =w=
