Need clients for icon commission examples!
Posted 5 years agoI'm looking for a couple of people who would like to offer their character as examples for when I publicly offer icons as a commission type. No restrictions on design, species, gender, etc. They will be of the same quality as my recent artwork with a simple color background.
If you're interested, PM me your ref. Please limit to no more than two characters per person! The cost is a discounted $20 USD per icon and full payment is due before I begin work. Expect a few days turnaround from time of payment.
Thanks!

Anthrocon 2014
Posted 11 years agoHaaaaaaaaay! Sorry for the lack of activity lately. I've been crazy busy lately with preparations for my first convention table! :D This weekend I will be in the Anthrocon dealer's room selling stuff under my Pocket Sushi brand at Table D09 (no drawings or commissions, unfortunately!).
If you're going to Anthrocon, too, please drop by, say hi, maybe buy? XD Apologies in advance for my quietness, lack of eye contact, and tendency to drop things. I will be shy. Oh so shy.
...Wee.
(Oh, and here's that AC meme, ganked from Bu. I don't believe I've ever filled it out before...)

Can I buy you drinks?
Coffee, please!
Can I give you stuff?
Do you need to ask?! *grabby hands*
Are you nice?
I try to be!
How long are you going?
All 3 days.
Will you be going to parties?

Not sure, yet! Hopefully there'll be sushi. :9

'Sawp?
Posted 12 years agoI keep visiting random artists' pages and trying to watch them, only to find out that I already did. XD It only shows how long it's been since I really used this site. Gomen for the lack of art (especially to mine clients). ;_;
Since I was last active here I gained my first full-time job as a web developer for a small marketing/PR firm, which after 15 months I was laid off from due to lack of funds (poor business choices, IMO). While employed I fell out of drawing regularly due to lack of time. After they dumped me I sought for work and temporary income sources that wasn't drawing (as I still had pending commissions), which led me to opening up an Etsy store that's actually become pretty successful, even to this day. I also worked at Office Depot for a very brief month, as during my unemployment my former employer enlisted me for freelance work, eventually kidnapping me from my cashier job at OD for "full-time" freelance (which they still haven't paid me for). This "full-time" freelance got me my original job back after 5 months of struggling to get by without any real income. Possibly a foolish decision, but I am currently at 18 months with them and they continue to add new staff members, so the company's probably doing a lot better than last time.
I am still devoting most of my conscious hours to my day job, which often eats away at my evening and weekend free time because wow web dev clients are rude ass motherfuckers who can't be punctual when it comes to deadlines. I also make enough sales from my Etsy store to pay some monthly bills with profit alone, so I've been a pretty busy Neek. I really miss drawing, though, and I feel bad that some paying customers are still waiting for delivery. I also feel bad about me personally, as I've neglected to draw for myself for a very long time and I really want to do something significant like a comic one day. As you can see from my recent burst in activity, I am trying to get back into drawing and I will do my best to make everyone and myself happy in the oncoming months!
Anyway, that's what's been happening with me for the past couple of years. I hope you're doing well, too!

Anyone remember Kazera/Bioweapon?
Posted 14 years agoI suddenly remembered her from my early days on the internet. She was one of my favorite artists at the time. Her style was very punk/goth/industrial and she had quite the array of characters, including a freaky green bat-zombie(?) named Mechinn, a white dreadlocked demon(?) named Endall, and a blueish sheep-boy whose name I have forgotten.
Her deviantArt accounts (Kazera and Bioweapon) have long since been abandoned and I was wondering if she is still about posting artwork and, if so, where? I figured I'd ask the community here since her art kinda fit in the genre. Any clues?
I doubt anyone will read this, but it's worth a try. Thanks for looking. :)

Holiday gift art for 10 lucky people! (CLOSED)
Posted 15 years agoSign-up is CLOSED--thanks for participating! Winners and art will be revealed on December 25th!
Comment this journal with some character refs (original characters are strongly preferred) and I will pick 10 random people to receive a free sketch on Christmas Day (December 25th). You don't need to celebrate Christmas to qualify. Sign-up closes Dec. 21st and I will sketch out the gifts between Dec. 22 - 24th.
This "contest" extends to deviantArt and y!Gallery, so you can comment on the journals on those sites to up your chances.
I've yet to determine the quality of the sketch, but my gut is telling me busts or chibis. I may splash flat colors on them if there's time. It'll depend on how I feel when the big day comes.
Good luck!

What's up and stuff? (stimulatin' discussion!)
Posted 15 years agoAmericans, how was your Thanksgiving? To everyone else, how was your weekend? :)
My Thanksgiving/weekend was enjoyable. I spent the latter half of last week at Busiris's parents' house. We had turkey and such. I also passed the time scratching away at my new Cintiq. It is such a fun tool to use that I think I may just find drawing fun again.
Speaking o' arts... *cue main reason for posting this journal*
How do you feel about non-anthro art being posted on FurAffinity?
I've only been on this site for a little over two years and I haven't been active much, mostly because furries are not my primary art subjects and I'll feel awkward if I updated here with human(oid) stuff. I used to draw a lot more furries in my younger days as an excuse not to draw humans because I was so bad at them (and because back then my inspiration came from children's entertainment, which consisted mostly of anthropomorphic creatures and not the quasi-animu that dominates the industry today). I don't consider myself a master of the human body now, though I prefer to draw them more than anthros these days.
Anyway, I am not sure if I should start posting my other work here or not. I don't want to get repetitive, you know? I signed up here so I could separate my furry art from my other stuff, but interest in the former has died a little. I still enjoy looking at other artists' anthro art, though!
What do you think?
