To everyone whose waiting for a commission I will be posting art tonight. I'm so sorry to make you all wait; my son has been sick for almost a week and a half. He's one, and thankfully the doctor said it's not that nasty flu thats going around but I need to monitor his temperature as he's had a fever every couple days.

I'm really only getting the time to work on the art after he's in bed...and I feel god awful that I haven't been able to have art up over a week ago. I will be sending out a note to everyone whose waiting for art still. ;3;

It's been a little crazy at home (my son started walking and has since climbed out of his crib as well) To boot I'm worried my little man is sick...we're calling the doctor in the morning. 2. Holy crap get a friggin' Wacom tablet...my brain is oozing out of my ears with coloring with traditional tools. Don't get me wrong I love coloring but oooooo how I long for a grapefruit...I mean drawing tablet...it'd make things so much easier...and then I can OC chat and doodle.
3. Buy another car...the truck is a gas fiend.

I was ready to come home by week three...;3; I missed my own bed and the hubby, my fuzzbabies, the weather...I actually forgot how my house looked I was gone so long.

I'm trying to get back into the swing of drawing (I wasn't really able to in Md) so I've been sketching furiously trying to get my art back to a decent level. It's taken a couple days. I drew two pics while in Md and I'll be posting them as soon as I can figure out where in the world my art book is hiding. ^^;

In the meantime enjoy the two sketches I uploaded; I'm off to fetch my fussy baby and start a load of dishes. (Super mama aways!!!!)

My flight leaves tomorrow afternoon...but I'm a little nervous about the trip. Feb.13 my grandmother had a heart attack and fell into a coma (who i was supposed to visit) then this past wednesday i recieved a call she'd passed away. So my trip home is going to be trying to help take care of my grandfather whose never left her side for more than a day or too. He's not doing well at all. I'm not sure if he'd still want the mural in the living room or if it'll bring up more painful feelings...so i'm not bringing it up with him. I wanted to upload the requests before I made the post so I could take care of the posts and entry all in one go...so the news is a couple days old. I still hope to make the trip a pretty good one despite the dark waters I'm heading into. But I feel now more than ever I need to be strong and grown up about the situation regardless of how sad I am about it. Sorry to dump news like this on everyone. ^^ So I'll be back on the 25th of march. Ishould have some piccies to share by then. ^.~ Everyone enjoy their St.Patty's Day!

i'm going to be flying home to the east coast for about a month in a week or so (after valentine's day). i'm working on my last commission pic (second try at coloring it) and then try to get a valentine pic up that i've been working on, and some extra doodles. i won't be able to upload any art while i'm out but i'll try to get some stuff drawn up while i'm away so i could have plenty for everyone to see when i get back.

why flying home? to visit family, let everyone see my little man who is turning one next month!!! (he's getting so big) and i'm working on a landscape mural. i'll try to have pics of it if anyone is interested.

also before i go i'm going to open up for 5 requests. only sketches or inked (i'm not chancing my coloring supplies cross country again ;3;) heads up, the art won't be uploaded until i get back home to the west coast about the 25th or so of march. ^^;

okie dokies, i'm tring to set aside some monies to get myself something nice. ^-^ so i'm selling some of my originals. if theres something in my gallery that you just gotta have let me know, if i can part with it, it yours. i'm also thinking about putting some art on furbid...but honestly i'd much rather sell the art through my journal first.

also once i finish the last two requests i have i want to open up some pin up commissions. if you like old school pin up style art, i can make you a fur pin up piece, so if you got some gorgeous girl fur whose just dying to be turned into a pin up, drop me a line. ^3^ they'll be sketched & inked. to have them colored would be a little extra (cause it takes me a while to color by hand) T-T

for anyone who was curious about my work. i figured i'd do a post with a little info for wanting minds. for those uninterested; please disregard this post. X3 and please keep in mind i'm no proffessional...it's just a passion.

i found that gesture drawing for my sketches helps me build a nicer looking shape rather than contour drawing (drawing outline of body) don't get me wrong i have friends that strictly draw by contour and their stuff's amazing. it just works for me better. almost all of my poses come from images i've found in books, pictures or online. one of my favorite sites for body poses is called
https://www.posemaniacs.com it's an awesome website with tons of different poses from all angles. for those of you who prefer a book for a reference i loved dynamic figure drawing by burne hogarth. since i generally stink big time at drawing the male figure. this book helped tons. it also helped with shading muscles. all the men in this book are built like spartans. *drool* so for anyone wanting a book on more action figure drawing i definately reccomend that book.
all my characters start as stick figures. XD

linework...i've used a good variety of lining pens before. my current set is a nice set of copic liners. i've used zig liners and steadler, faber-castell, and prismacolor liners. some pen liners when you erase you sketch underneath the image looks faded. i either redo it or trace a new sheet on tracing paper. i've used kneaded erasers before but my heart still sits with staedler's mars plastic (vinyl erasers) they don't leave as many smudges with mechanical pencil marks) my more detailed lines are done with a .3 liner, standard lines are done with a .5, and after i'm done i go over the outside lines with a .8 or 1.0 a friend of mine showed me how to double up some of my lines, i normally do this in shaded spots, i.e. under breast lines, darker crevices of hair.

coloring....i'm swearing by prismacolor pencils as far as color pencils go. i've yet to use a better brand, that can blend that well. markers, i'm using prismacolor pencils, i'd prefer to be using copic markers but they're too expensive for my wallet. they blend a little better than prismacolor markers, don't leave bleed lines and are refillable. but at about $5 a marker way out of my price range. prismacolors are great to work with they have an extensive variety of colors and are double tipped with a fine tip for smaller details and a wide tip with different angle sizes which is awsome for med to thick marks. the downside, they bleed like crazy and tend to go over lines you don't want them to, they get you light headed if you're too close to them. (i draw close to the paper...not sure why O.o) and they take a while to learn how to use them. T-T but the plus unlike the color pencils they don't mess up your line work.

digital...currently i can't do anything seriously digital...best buy deleted my only copy of photoshop...but if you can get your hands on a wacom...thats the way to go...tablets make coloring your art on the computer ten times easier. you don't necesarily need a huge tablet since it's more likely you're only going to be working on small parts at a time. for what brief time i had my hands on a wacom the small tablet worked just fine. i liked photoshop cs2, but if i ever am able to get another art program for the desktop it'd probably be open canvas. i'm not sure though...digitally i'm not the best person to be chatting with. ;3; just that tablets rock.

for everyone who had unfinished requests. i've got them all finished. i though i had uploaded the art to the site, but as it turns out none of them are up. i'm going through my folders and i'll be uploading the rest of the requests tonight. ;3; i want to smack my self for not making sure everything was good to go before i took up a job. yep, i've got a job...designing tattoo flash. =.= i need money to feed my marker fetish.

my little furbaby passed away today. nino, my short hair chihuahua was sick for the past week. we couldn't get him to the vet til today. he wasn't eating, was lethargic, and shaking constantly. the doctors still don't know what was wrong but they were leaning towards a brain tumor or doggy menengitis. the shaking that he was having were actually seizures. they tried giving medicine to calm him down but it didn't work, then they tried two more different drugs to hopefully stop his seizures. but nothing was working. he was 5, and my shadow. he followed me everywhere, and i was head over heels about him since the day he was born. i'm still a little distraut. i will be working on the pictures through this but please be patient, i don't even have the willpower to cook dinner right now. i just want to sleep and dream he's still home curled up next to me.

again i am unable to sleep. so i've been doodling here and there. in general i have a crap ton of stuff that needs to be done but no motivation to be sewing right now. aside from the drawing, i've been putzing about here and gaia. baby is doing okay. he's been fussy this week. i think he may start cutting teeth soon. i know i knows, there's no excuse. but anywhos, work has been taking its toll on me, and with the stress of the holidays, trying to get the house for sale, and the pregnancy thing...my drawing has been in a bit of a slump. i've been reading like there's no tomorrow, about five novels in a month. i've been working on comic pieces...(when i can actually get something out on paper)

and in lighter news. i found out that the baby is a boy and he is good and healthy. so i am toting around a little, wiggly, long legged baby boy. XD they moved the due date to may 3rd. and i've just started to be able to feel him kick. O.o it kinda freaks me out but makes me happy at the same time.

something big has happened that has been keeping me busy for sometime. no worries...i will post some art for you guys and respond to all the watches and comments and favs...cause you kick bootys. i'll let you all know the whole story after the 12th of october.

i've been working pretty much full time this summer...and most of the art i've done is for work T-T i want to post some of the art up here but its not furry at all. be patient i'm gonna be shelling out some line work soon. color works are going to take longer since i am without a wacom tablet.

i've been having an artists block for the past couple of days...i've had a couple ideas in my head but i cannot get them out onto paper...>.<* so all the new stuff i've posted lately is all old stuff... *sniffles*

haven't been able to sleep much lately. between work, working on artwork for work, trying to clean (and failing miserably) i just haven't been able to rest long enough. so i figure it'll be best to run myself into the ground til i am out for the count for hours...bring on the coca cola black and short bread...i've hit insomnizombia...O.o'
