Life changes
Posted 12 years agoWell, it's a bit after the fact, but I am an official graduate-school graduate! I have obtained my Master's degree and am working towards licensure now! Part of the reason I haven't been around as much or as chatty is due to my new job. I interned at a Crisis House and upon the completion of the internship I applied to and obtained a new position at the house. Full-time and everything! So I've been working hard there, trying to absorb as much of the rest of the know-how to run the program and putting in long hours :)
Otherwise... I have no more homework ever (sort of, there is a chance I may go back) and I don't know what to do with myself in my free time. So I've been watching Supernatural and otherwise time-wasting. :) I'll get to those projects some day!

Posted 12 years agoSometimes I wonder what the point of them are. As an artist I can see posting updates on commissions/general status so their watchers have an idea of where they are at. What about the laypeople and their (lovely) few watchers? Does this make the journal function moot?
In addition, what are things ok to journal about, what isn't appreciated? What are the fun journals?

1: Do you sleep with your closet doors open or closed?
Closed. Religiously closed. Must be closed or the monsters will get me (though with some consideration that *might* not bother me that much).
2: Do you take the shampoos and conditioner bottles from hotel?
Usually not, sometimes they smell delicious and I must have them though.
3: Do you sleep with your sheets tucked in or out?
Untucked. If they are tucked in I flail until they are corrected.
4: Have you ever stolen a street sign before?
Never have personally, I somehow manage to acquire them. I have an “Icy roads” one in my entryway.
5: Do you like to use post-it notes?
I live on them! When I’m really busy they fringe both of my computer monitors.
6: Do you cut out coupons but then never use them?
Yes ;_;
7: Would you rather be attacked by a big bear or a swarm of a bees?
I would have to say bear, as I am highly allergic to bees. :)

I have MANY freckles. I look like a cow shat on me through a screen door. ^_^

Yes, no matter how long it takes.

Slow drivers, bad drivers, obnoxious people.

Posted 12 years agoSo for FC 2013 I picked up a couple of cheap books to read while traveling and in the down time and I was pleasantly surprised at these two in a series:
City of Dragons: Blood Bonds at Amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/reader/B00.....O/ref=aysdl_rn
City of Dragons: Of Flesh and Blood also at Amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0.....FJ6/ref=yml_dp
They are distinctly rough around the edges, however I enjoyed the author's concept of dragons "Kin" and the rules and regulations which structure their society. If you're looking for an easy, fun read, I think these are worth it. :)
What are your favorite dragon/mythic creature books. Some others I treasure:
Mercedes Lackey... ALL OF HER THINGS, Rob Thurman, Laural K. Hamilton, <3 Dragon's Winter by Elizabeth A. Lynn <3, Winterlands series by Barbra Hambly, <3 Hurog series by Patricia Briggs <3, Obsidian Chronicles by Lawrence Watt-Evans, Nightside series by Simon R. Greene, Joanne Bertin, and Piers Anthony (to name a few ^^;).
