Here I Am!!
Posted 9 years agoSo after a few days of no power or phone, my folks and I made it out of the Hurricane Matthew practially unscathed. We are INCREDIBLY lucky to have had no flooding issues around us despite being two or more football fields away from water sources in three directions.
To any and all who were worried about their favorite Burr, know that I am okay and I hope that you are all doing the same.
And on behalf of my state of NC, to all those who have helped in the relief efforts to the areas hit hardest by flooding and wind damages, thank you. And help is still needed so find anything you can for donations or even help lines for folks who need aid at this time.
Thank you all again and hopefully, we can begin to get back to normal around here. ^_^

Posted 9 years agoJust a couple small updates for the folks that chat with me on a regular basis. Our router is on the fritz and barely letting any net come or go. I type this hoping it will not hang up in mid-upload.
Hoping to get a new router by Thursday and fix the problem. But what is a router without the power on? Which leads into the next topic.

Category 4 as of now and gonna glide right over this area with projected winds up to 105mph by the time it gets here. *grumble* I HATE high winds. There is something primally terrifying about something you cannot see causing massive damage. So yeah....just hoping to survive the weekend, I guess.

UPDATE: So another side to this policy has been brought to my attention with a few accounts of folks being able to openly ask about selling erotic art (via phone calls for direct contact) and getting answers to the tune of "Yes, it is allowed".

Farewell my loyal monitor
Posted 9 years agoSo it had to happen sometime, but my loyal and lovely 2007 iMac LCD finally bit the dust and for now, it is a glorified paperweight. And I know many would say to buy a new computer ("Get a real PC, dur hur hur!") to them I say NAY!! In almost a decade of service, I have never once had to take this computer into a shop. And it was one of the last gifts I ever got from my dear Uncle. So parting with it will probably not happen anytime soon. So for now, I will be using my PS4 and see if this is viable as an option. ^^

The Coming Days and Days That Have Come~

Just figured I would give folks the heads up on stuff that has been happening recently.
First off, a good friend of mine lost his home to a fire incident on the 5th of this month. Fortunately he and his family and pets made it out unscathed and with some awesome people coming together for them, they will be doing alright in getting a new home sometime after the holidays while they stay at his mothers for the interrum.
Secondly, my Father had a hip replacement done a day before the news of the fire at my friends and I have been on the ball with keeping him and Mom cared for despite being a night owl for most of my adult life. Though I AM finding that I have more time to work on level grinding in my fave Bethesda games (~drools for Fallout 4 someday~) since I am up most of the day when Dad is resting.
And finally, we have some birthdays coming up at my house. Due to pretty rad coincidences, my parents birthdays and mine come three days in a row. With mine being on the 22nd.
Which is my segway into what motivated me to put out the journal. My birthday is soonish! Lavish me with luff and cookies!!! 8D

Posted 10 years agoI signed in as usual and was on through the day no problem and suddenly, cut off. Yes, I am aware that they were gonna pull the plug eventually but I am a stubborn mule and didn't see the reason for not supporting my old OS aside from "Whatevah, whatevah! We Windows, we do what we wannnnt!"
At least not until I either find a great alternative that can run on a 10.5.8 iMac or I can get funds together to get the 10.6 upgrade.
So for the meantime, I wish all my Skype buds the best and hope to hear from you all within a week or (hopefully) sooner.

okibearz came to me with a customer complaint and I promised I would help spread the word if things did not pan out for a commission he was working on.
He is a good guy and does good work for fair prices. Which is why when someone takes advantage of his generousity I get ROYALLY pissed off. >: (
A fellow by the name of
drunklion has apparently withheld payment for over a week after getting his commission and it does not seem he will be paying anytime soon. I did not jump into this from the start as I asked OkiBearZ to give it a few days (at which point over half a week of no paying had already occurred) and if no changes happend to tell me. OkiBearZ was getting repeated messages back along the lines of "I will pay soon." and "Don't worry."
So here I am, calling out drunklion as a scammer for commissions. If anyone has any similar experiences with this individual, leave a comment. And if this persists, it will be taken to the Admins for them to decide whether or not to deal with drunklion directly.

No Skyping For This Burr
Posted 11 years agoAt least for now. Ya see....Skype, in its infinite wisdom, has decided to say "Bugger off!!" to any customers not using the most up to date version and force-closing me when I try to get on my Skype.
As my OS for Mac is only 10.5 and Skype was not really interested in keeping Macs OS compatible until after then, I am pretty much stuck without Skype until I can foot a $19.99 upgrade charge from Mac which I don't have right now.
So if you don't see me online Skype, that is why.

Family Troubles
Posted 12 years agoHey folks. I know I tend not to write many journals these days but eehh.....I kinda feel a need for support, ya know?
For the last week, my sister has been in the hospital for what has been described as Lambert Syndrome. It is a form of auto-immune deficiency that the CAT scan today has shown left a thrombosis in her throat, increased the size of her heart and now a half collapsed lung. She is being moved to a better hospital about an hour away from our local one. Better staff and she knows folks there, so there is some comfort in this. Thing is..........I can't shake the feeling of worry.
So if anyone who reads this would be kind to just......pray to whomever it is you pray to for her to recover, I would deeply appreciate it.
