Posted 14 years agoThere is way too much shit to write, yah... and it's not like I can remember all of it. Anyways, here is my FC post con journal.
Wednesday, Jan 11th
Left the previous night at around 10 PM with
Unfortunately we didn't get to Alameda until about Wednesday afternoon due to our car tires sucking, and lack of sleep. I spent most of the car ride tripping on a body high (shrooms), and it made the entirety of the car ride absolutely awesome. I love riding shotgun.
Spent the day with family and shit. Oooh boy that was weird. I'm taller than all of them, and I lied my ass off about how well my life is going. :3 Okay, I didn't lie, and my life is awesome, but I had to stretch the truth so they would stop bugging me to go back to school!
Thursday
Dentist appointment ending with near perfect teeth (wtf) and some fillings being repaired. My teeth, as a result, felt strange all weekend. That did, however, bolster my confidence about the condition of my teeth. :)
Met up with an old high school friend at SJSU. Shortly before arriving at the con, we went to a local asian restaurant where he ordered food. At this point in time, we began tripping balls and we instead laughed at the food for about half an hour before boxing it up and bringing it with us. :3
Got settled into my room with
and wandered the con all night, avoiding registration. I retreated into the room a couple times where I experienced full hallucinations and spent an hour or two chilling to Marfles' excellent taste in music (he liked leaving his iTouch on in the room when no one's around). I also wandered into some open room parties and found it incredibly easy to initiate conversations, and I met a couple fantastic people that night... unfortunately I didn't get any contact info except for phone numbers. Bummer! (would rather not text random people asking for FAs) It was a relief too, not being a wallflower the entire time, and I remember sleeping at one point! It happened, because I woke up the next day. :3
Friday
Woke up late and had lunch somewhere... I think it was Johnny Rocket's. Most of the afternoon was spent meeting new mutual friends. I've heard a lot of names floating around, but this was the year I bolstered my confidence and gotten to saying hi to a lot of them.
Night began again... :D. Danced for a little bit before going crazy and wandered again. At this point details are fuzzy and shit because the meth kicked in, but if I had a way to describe how my night went, it would be this. http://markreads.net/reviews/wp-con.....3/FUCK-YEA.png I met so many people I have trouble believing you all exist! My birthday also rolled around midnight, and I turned a healthy 22 years old. Rest of the birthday went smoothly, but I do have a nasty bitemark on my wrist though from someone having a bad trip (I calmed him down shortly afterwards, it was all good).
It was difficult to go to sleep... whenever I headed up to my room, I met someone along the way and kept getting dragged places. Sleep eventually happened. ;)
Saturday
So, to compensate for how much energy I spent on Friday, I spent most of this day sleeping. Go figure! I attempted to stay up, but my body didn't want to listen. :( I was literally stumbling through the party floor and most of the con and ended up taking an early night, even though I was still higher than a kite. Fuck!
Sunday
With a day left of the con, I was much more energetic and got to spending at the dealer's den this year! (keep in mind I normally don't spend money at cons except for reg and food <.<) I bought this sexy wolf hoody, a t-shirt, and a patch I can sew onto my backpack. Also started going all out for food seeing as how a lot of the money I saved up for FC wasn't being spent... Sushi was absolutely amazing, I miss California sushi! Washington/Portland asian food in general sucks balls. :(
Spent some time ice-skating with
. It was pretty nice, CW (a TV station) was filming and I guess they were wondering what the fuck was going on with the billion fursuits. I actually want to start picking up ice-skating now, I'm pretty sure I could do well in trimming some excess job fat eh ;)
Rest of the night was pretty chill compared to the rest of the con. Didn't do any partying and just hung out with friends, tried whip-its for the first time, and other gay shit until late Monday morning... a perfect end to the con.
Monday
Again, spent most of the day sleeping from con exhaustion (considering I hadn't slept the night before). Also caught a bit of con crud, which didn't help all too much. Wandered around the Bay Area as a whole before finally heading out that night. Back to reality...

I'm joining the airforce (good reasons), but those plans are put on hold because...
I've lost two waist sizes in a week from an ulcer (stemming from a hangover and two fevers). Ulcer will take about a month to heal. Can't do MEPs drug testing right now.
Lonely as shit, yet getting lots of attention. Sup wit' that.
Playing Terraria, The Sims 2 (for nostalgia), TF2 (cuz it's free :D), and watching The Regular Show... regularly.

Friday of FC11 will be my 21st! I'll be hosting a small-ish room party with excessive amounts of alcohol which will definitely carry over to Saturday. Shoot me a text or call meh if you want to drop by and hang ;) I'll be at the con Thursday morning till Sunday night.
Also wanting to throw this out there, me and Nova will be moving to a new place in Seattle around July or August. We've been leisurely looking around, and considered maybe having a roommate depending on the places we find. If you're interested in moving in with us, IM/call/hang out with meh.
I started playing SL again! (Haiaku Avedon) I tend to have it running in the background while I am working and I take frequent breaks. ;)
and... I never ask for help when it comes to learning but I would like some guidance on how to build a general LAMP server. This is more for curiousity than anything, I just want to know how it all works (along with learning how to ssh but I can do th at on my own).

Work promotion
Posted 15 years ago3rd promotion since I started my job in May. ^^ This one is much more significant, I've moved off of the field and into a professional office environment with my own cubicle :3 I'm currently on par/above supervisor level as my boss's analyst and therapist (analrapist)... jk uh, just analyst, major book-keeping, informing my boss about decisions on company policies (and under the new management, there are going to be quite a few) and I'm going to have set up an efficient database, the one our company uses SUCKS considering right now I have to pull data from the records manually. I pretty much do my own work, my boss doesn't care how or why I do it as long as he gets what he needs and doesn't know he needs in the end. I've had to reteach myself java and spent the past few days brushing up on statistics and Perl... I haven't realized how much I've forgotten.
It's just kind of weird. In my immediate staff area, I am the least experienced, the youngest, and I supersede most of the supervisors... My position is only shared by one other person who specializes in the baggage delivery and handling division. It feels like I cheated somehow, like I power-leveled or glitched something. o.o
Oh yeah. 4AM-some ungodly ambiguous hour is my workweek, Monday to Friday, so I actually get to go back to furmeets and do shit. ^^ I just have to expect work calls randomly and lots of homework... It doesn't seem so bad anymore considering it's entirely self-driven.
That's really just it... looking forward to future cons and such. Furmeets have gone downhill, me and Nova were thinking of starting another one up to fill the expanding void. o.O We'll see what happens in the future! :3

Posted 15 years agoWork promotion almost a month ago is going extremely well. :3 I can work all the hours I want to really, I get asked to optionally stay in late all the time, or super early, and I think this is an awesome starting job with an additional 10-40 hours of overtime! \o/ Plus I'm in a position where I'm not going to be laid off or fired. :D
Things to pay off, including long overdue credit (visa) which I've been keeping at bay for more than a year,
for room at AC 09, 
for rent, and for promising to pay for all of his con stuffs :3. I've also been getting a lot of sex-box 360 time, bought a lot of new games I've been wanting to play for a long time and being an achievement hunter, investing a lot of time into finishing all that ^.^
So yeah. Rainfurrest 09 is coming up in about two months. I didn't have room plans at first but now that I think about it, I kind of don't want to be leaving the hotel... Anyone have floor/couch space for me and Nova? I'll pay, obviously.
and Midwest Furfest is four months right now. I'm taking care of flight plans at the moment, but room plans are still up in the air. Anyone got any open room slots? Or is anyone looking for a room so that I can possibly reserve one? I'd like to know by mid-august... fyi, Nova will NOT be coming with me, he got other plans ^^;;

Overtime! No days off! No time to hang out or go online! My dad doesn't hate me for being (domestic partnership'd) to anymore, and my mom is comfortable with it now! Got Majora's Mask and Phoenix Wright: Trials and Tribulations for the Wii!
Work clothes are itchy and scratchy. I dun like them too much, but they look nice. :D I wish my work shirt was a different color other than sky blue, though.
I can finally re-order a new stylus for my tablet, or get a new one. I suck with pencil and paper so hard. I am in need of a new mp3 player... an iPhone looks like the way to go, considering my internet life sucks too, so that's two birds in one stone.

Road-tripped it down to San Jose:
12:00 PM_2:00 PM - Took the 41 -> Seattle, 194 from Seattle -> Federal Way
2:00 PM_6:00 PM - Got a ride with the lovely
-> Vancouver
1:30 AM - Rode with and -> Portland
2:00 AM_10:00 AM - Picked up SethPup and droooooooove -> Mt. Shasta pass thingy, around Redding.
12:00 PM (noon)_3:00 PM - Had to turn around 5-10 miles to buy tire chains :< Standstill blizzard for TWO-THREE HOURS while we waited for the roads to plow... total of five-six hours trying to get through the pass before we could de-chain

The hotel is really nice, did a small bit of exploring with Maru. There's a ton more con room space than the old hotel, the lobby is nice (there was a live band playing when we got there) but this place feels insanely expensive and exceptionally fancy. Looking forward to some California-ing tomorrow, and con pre-reg.
Thursday -
Woke up really late so actually didn't do the whole Berkeley adventure I was planning. :( Which was fine actually, went to McDonald's for breakfast :D Safeway trip, got my room with
, 
, 
, 
, and the arrival of my husband , who remained attached to me the entirety of the con.
Spent the night with Kiyosh, Maru, Kit,
, 
, and Bacani. Went to sleep at 3 AM.
Pre-reg was fast. :D Spent like 2 min in the line.
Friday -
Dealer's den opened today, Nova bought a Tree Of Life leather satchel, and the arrival of the sexy, where we ate lunch/breakfast at Johnny Rocket's. We also met up with Drummin, and Nova cut my hair in the hotel room. :) I only attended one panel, Loser's On Stage II, I left about halfway through to meet up with Blacky/"Waffles :3" and his boyfriend Pharas. I wish I had written this day down right after and not three days later because I don't remember too much of it. Oh yeah, was locked out of the room because I left my wallet inside and didn't really want to wake anyone up. =/ Luckily we had been conforming to our two 4 hour sleep schedule so it wasn't too bad to get some proper rest. ;)

haha no just kidding. The day was amazing! Me, Nova, Blacky, and Pharas, woke up at one to go eat at Subway and unfortunately missed the fursuit parade but we met up with
on the way back to the hotel. Found 
wearing an asian laborer hat (he was the only one I found who dressed up for the theme =/), 
, 
and other various furs I haven't seen for a while. :> There's also a lot of people I met who I didn't get contact info (again), I better see you again next year. >:| Did various hanging and wanderings around the con, went to the smash tournament, danced afterwards (where I saw 
, , 
, and Saurin) and went to a small room party with Bad and Drummin where I met Greymist, 
, MaloWolf, and Scrambles (first time seeing him out of suit! o.o). (I'm not even sure if these are their FA's =/) We didn't spend too much time inside, so me and Badinage adventured out into the lobby and were picked up by some people named Rachel and Greg, where we wandered the con and crashed some rooms. Honestly the details are all fuzzy, by this time I was smashed, the only details I remembered was the room numbers and one of them belonged to someone named Greivere... I also remember having a GREAT time, there were too many names to remember though. :D Me and Bad started heading back at god knows when to look for Nova, we found him and Scrambles heading upstairs already, hehe. Passed out in the room.
Sunday
Not much to do today, the con began to die down as me and Nova packed for leaving the con for another year! D: Went down to to lobby where me, Nova, Tea, Greymist, Feartree, Drummin, and some other guy with a name that started with an R went out to eat at flames, afterwards me and went to Kiyosh's room for one final hangout. Then we left! :)
The end. Uh, can't wait till next year? o.o

12:00 PM_2:00 PM - Took the 41 -> Seattle, 194 from Seattle -> Federal Way
2:00 PM_6:00 PM - Got a ride with the lovely
-> Vancouver1:30 AM - Rode with
and -> Portland2:00 AM_10:00 AM - Picked up SethPup and droooooooove -> Mt. Shasta pass thingy, around Redding.
12:00 PM (noon)_3:00 PM - Had to turn around 5-10 miles to buy tire chains :< Standstill blizzard for TWO-THREE HOURS while we waited for the roads to plow... total of five-six hours trying to get through the pass before we could de-chain
