Limbo Wallpaper FAQ
Posted 11 years agoWow! Limbo Wallpapers seem to be a hit! So glad to see that you guys like these. I thought it was a super neat idea, myself.
So, I figured I'd add a little FAQ about them, to answer some stuff I'm getting asked a bunch.
Am I still taking commissions for these?
Yes! You bet! They're only available during Wednesday Night stream events (for now), but if you can't make a show, there are options. If you leave a note when you order one, and pay ahead of time, I can get it done during the stream whether you're there or not. And then, you'll have something real neat to wake up to Thursday morning.
How do I get one?
Just sign up for a slot using this super-handy form! https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1hF.....6OHiU/viewform It's real quick, and your spot'll be guaranteed. It's good to order early if you know what you want, though, to make sure you get a spot. Lots of other neat stuff's available too, so check out all the options while you're there!
Do you make the backdrops and stuff yourself?
Sure do! Everything about these is created by hand. I make myself templates ahead of time to make production quick. Paint the backgrounds, create the lighting effects, noodle around with overlays for an added effect, and sort them all so they can be applied on the fly to get just the right look for each piece. It's a labour of love that I'm quite proud of.
What gave you the idea for these?
The art style in the game Limbo is absolutely stunning. I thought it would be neat to draw one of my monster characters in the style of a screenshot from it, and got real carried away from there. And now I'm sure glad I did. These are a blast to do.
$15 for a wallpaper?! But wallpapers are usually so expensive!
Here's where the fun part comes in! As I mentioned earlier, I've created a template that makes these a lot easier to do than they otherwise would be. The backgrounds, the lighting, the effects.. All made ahead of time. Because of this, I can do them quickly, and therefore not charge too much at all. Which makes them a real kickin' option for folk who would love to have a wallpaper but can't afford ridiculously huge commissions. Everyone wins!
I have a different idea for a background! Can you do it?
I'm gonna be adding a whole bunch of background options over time, and love getting suggestions for fresh new ideas. Throw one at me and I might just do it! Buuuut.. I can't really do custom backgrounds for individual wallpapers, and not charge a lot more. The reason these are so cheap is because they're simple and quick for me. So, yes and no. I can't do a new one during a show, but maybe ahead of time if it's an idea I can use a bunch.
That's all I can think of at the moment. I'll add other stuff if it comes to mind. Anyways, thanks for making these wallpapers the success I was really hoping they'd be! Posted 11 years agoHey guys! As the title says, just a quick update. I wanted to take a sec to thank the hell out of you all for making last night's show such a success! The music, thanks to reccasenli was phenominal, the chat was a blast, and arting up stuff for everyone was a whole lot of fun. So, thank you all again!
I have a few pieces I'll be finishing up and posting over the course of the week. Meanwhile, help us spread the word for next week's show. We had upwards of 25 of ya there this time, so let's see if we can hit 30 or 40!

Posted 11 years agoWe had a good run, Livestream. We really did. But lately, you've been way too crashy. Freezing, blanking out on people, dying for no reason, not wanting to connect... It's time we saw other people, mate.
In other words, I'll now be streaming on Picarto.tv! https://www.picarto.tv/live/channel.....ch=NimRoderick (I'm working on getting a URL that's easier to remember than that set up. That should be taken care of by tomorrow night). Picarto.tv is a streaming site designed with artists in mind! It's pretty sweet. So far, I'm absolutely in love with it. Check it out, fellow artists!

- I like that you can set it to list what software / tablet you use

From single/double icons, to conbadges and busts, all the way up to full-body pinups, we'll be doing it all AND livestreaming the entire process side-by-side on two separate livestreams! So you can chat with us and watch as I work with you to map out your ideas, sketch 'em out and ink them up, then pass it on over to North who'll be unleashing his incredible painting talents all over your piece, then passing it back on to me for some final detailing and touchups. We'll have both livestreams running side-by-side on a single page, so you don't even have to switch tabs to watch the action from start to finish.
