Yes I know I've made a journal about this before, but after taking some serious looking into my finances/hotel/flight/etc, I can say I'm about 90% positive I'm going. The other 10% is if, within the next week, suddenly every flight/hotel gets booked. Or we all die. Or something else like that. As of this second I see a good flight/hotel, but I'm going to wait until my paycheck hits friday to book them.

So yeah, who am I going to see?

This game is rather similar in my eyes, and I'm enjoying it thus far. It's for the DS though, not PC.
(Granded, I don't know all of what Recettear was put on, only that I bought it through steam.)

I'm not too sure if I believe it totally, or if it even changes anything, I'm sure he had a second in command lined up in the event this happened.

I said megaman and pokemon, but now that i've gotten a bit further, it's more like metriod and pokemon, due to the fact that it's all one big open world, but you need certain powers/items to progress to blocked off rooms.
The reason I first thought megaman at first is because your first power is basically a buster shot XD

Seriously, it's like, an epic mix of megaman and pokemon.
I'm surprised I hadn't heard of this...

Woke up when my alarm went off for once, got ready early enough that I had time to go to the store for the first time in about a month (lazy, lol)

It broke one of my add ons, BUT, the only reason I got that add on is because firefox wasn't doing it's job right.
Firefox 4 fixed whatever issue I was having, so I don't even need it anymore.

I've heard a lot of people hating on it, but the layout isn't really any different if you take the 5 minutes to change it around :/

- Thursday

Before I left I turned on my phone tweets for  hali, so me randomly mentioning him saying something out of nowhere, that's usually why.

I left early anticipating traffic, got none, got to the hotel too early to check in, wandered around dallas for about an hour and then checked in.

After a few hours of napping/gaming/trying to find somewhere to help out and failing, I went to go pick up  forest-wolf at the airport.
The only thing I really remember is freaking out because I parked in a 1 hour zone and his flight got in late D:'

After getting back to the hotel we just kinda played games for a bit, eventually we saw a line for reg start to develop, and we got in it since we had nothing else to do. Saw Matthew)  Hali ) walk by and waving, talking to him for a bit. He was setting his stuff up or something or another.

After an hour and discovering that the original phantasy star was actually interesting (I have tons of roms/emulators on my DS i haven't touched), the line moved. We were going to go to genghis grill, but it got too late, so after getting our badges we had some food at the bar. It wasn't too bad, and at that point I told Matthew that I was allergic to EVERYTHING.

At that point it was around midnight, and we kinda just went to bed.






- Random

There's a genghis grill 15 minutes from my apartment, I just found this out, I am a happy folf :D

- Friday


First thing I remember about this day is waking up around 9 and letting forest sleep (he's always saying how tired he is D:) We missed opening ceremonies (around 11) though (it was full when we got there, roughly 11:10)

I forced forest to make a little sticky note on the board, free advertising and whatnot, ya know? We walked past it later to see  crescentwolf pointing at it and asking everyone around if they'd seen him. We weren't totally sure, but the second we turned the corner we both started laughing, figuring he was pointing at wuff's drawing. We had walked by later and he asked me if i'd seen him as I looked over the board. I looked at forest who was like, 2 feet from me, and just said "don't think so". Ahh, that was fun :P

At this point we went and watched the hobbit, which I hadn't seen since I was a kid. Freaking creepy music in every other scene D:

We later went to go watch a puppet show, which was actually pretty funny XP James showed up in the middle of it, so we didn't see it all the way though. We hung out with james and them for a little bit, and then decided to go see what the rocky horror picture show was. We walked in, saw an a dude in his underwear (along with nowhere to sit) and immediately left XD


After a bit we went to the Blue Mesa resturant with a ton of people I don't know, and  surge  forest-wolf and  crescentwolf all got to learn what an insane driver I am :P On the way back,  crescentwolf went overdramatic and hugged the ground screaming "land!" XD

I'm a crazy driver, yes, but I swear I'm a safe one. Been driving for 4 years, and I've only been in two accidents, and both times I was the only car involved. (Smashed into a WHOLE 18 wheeler tire on the road/drove into water that was too deep and flooded the engine)

This place wasn't bad, but it had really weird plates. James got a drink that was...$9? and he did nothing but complain about it, so i take it that it sucked XD

Went to some yogurt/ice cream/whatever place down the street 20 minutes before they closed (i bet they were pissed XD), and due to allergies (dairyyyyyyyy D:) I just watched everyone eat.

At this point I'm noticing I"m getting some things out of order. (I flipped the RHPC and the resturant) I'm too lazy to fix it, just know everything I say did happen, just not necessary in the right order.

Around Midnight we went to a kroger and picked up random junk, they were actually selling android phones there, first i've seen electronics being sold at a kroger o.o

We chilled in the room for a bit, forest drew some stuff in pencil, there's a picture of myself, james,  lukesnowcat, and kiba

Eventually we went to sleep again, because it's a need. Though, I can't remember if this happened thursday or friday, there was this light that I tried to turn off. However, each time I pressed it, it would come back on, and after the 5th try, it went off for a moment, I turned around, and then I saw it come back on in the corner of my eye. I just kinda flopped over on my bed and said screw it, forest turned it off in one try XD





- Saturday


Saturday was another day that I woke up oddly early and just sat in bed playing mario golf (GBC) on my DS until forest woke up.

I don't remember too much from Saturday sadly xD; We probably played games mostly. since we did that a lot, I can't really place when we did it. We went to the charity auction since frosty wanted to go. I really, really wish they had announced from the start they could take cards, I would have pushed the Usagi comics further than they went. I think they sold for around $60, I only had $50 in cash, I would have pushed it up to AT LEAST 100 (THERE WE A TON OF THEM MAN.) They announced it RIGHT AFTER THAT ONE. jalsjdfljdlf

anyway, I netted 6 mangas for $20, frosty got an ancient PC game (IT TAKES A WHOLE MB OF RAM HOLY SHIT THAT'S A LOT) and a wolf plush, and james got shiny posters :D

Drug forest to go see matthew's concert, which ran longer than expected (it was amazing though <3), but I had promised james and them dinner at genghis grill, I ate waaaaaaay too much while I was there XD. After that forest and I walked back (walking was a terrible idea, the walk back was so painful when i was so full XD) and went to the after party. Matthew had grabbed some epic dairy free cheese and rice crackers. Holy shit that was the best fake cheese I've ever had <3 *needs to find it* Drank 2 small bottles of gluten free hard cider, was pretty good~ Forest said it looked like I was about to fall asleep XD; I felt really relaxed.

After the person next door complained politely about the noise, we apologized and at that point everyone pretty much left. After playing games for a moment in the room, we went with james to go watch sonic the hedgehog cartoons. (the ones that didn't suck) Some guy tried to show this old werewolf game, but sadly no one really cared, I felt kinda bad XD. The whole time we were there James was making jokes, I haven't laughed that hard in a long time XD After around 4am we decided to head on to bed, and passed out pretty quick. This is where this picture was taken.




- Sunday


I was sad when I woke up sunday, I was like, fffffffffffff, it's almost over.

First thing I remember doing was going into the dealers den, and we all bought a bunch of stuff XP
I got a little fuzzy fox ball thing (which I will post a picture of here in a moment) and a shirt that says "I have not lost my mind, it's back up on the server, and the network is down again", or something around those lines. I'll take a picture with it later to show my haircut I got monday. Forest got a shirt that said "what's the point of being a ninja if no one can see you?"

James and them left around 4 or so, which was sad because that's who we were pretty much following around the whole time XD

Let's see...we went into the video room 2 minutes before it closed, that was amusing XD

We actually caught closing ceremonies, woo. $4000 were raised for charity this year, that's damn impressive.

After that I realized I had spent way less than I had budgeted, so we went to best buy/walmart and bought some games! Though, before that we went hunting for gamestops, after my GPS lied to me three times we finally found one, and it was closing XD I got forest super scribblenauts (which is hilarious XD) and monster hunter freedom unite (which I got as well), and I got final fantasy Dissidia, and I bought mad world for my brother.

After returning and playing games in the room for awhile, matthew said that they were going to try to hit genghis grill, and so after gathering about 20 or so people, including the con chair, we all went about 20 minutes before they closed. I'm sure they weren't happy, but that tip jar was totally filled by the time we left (it was empty before)

After getting back we just played games for a bit more, then went to sleep.





- Monday

Woke up early, again, and just stared at the ceiling for about an hour. I really, really didn't want it to be over >.<
but all good things must end.

Left the hotel around 11, we ate at whataburger since forest didn't have one where he lives, then I drug him to this asian grocery store, where we got a bunch of stuff, including giant pocky (which forest described the size as "breadsticks with chocolate on them") along with some "good good eats, which apparently weren't very good XD

After that it was around 1, his flight was at 4, but we went ahead and went to the airport (I'm always afraid of being late for # After dropping him off I kinda sulked in my car for a bit and then started the drive home.






- Regrets

I never caught  tigerpillow or  pinko, never saw  kusanagi-sama, and I only bumped into  foxyareku once at the very end ):

- Favorite part

 hali's concert, hands down, with my second favorite part being watching the sonic cartoons XD

- Least favorite

Depressing/lonely 220 mile drive home/being sick the last few days. D:<

I...guess? Fun story about pictures, one of my co-workers frequents 4-chan, and I was in the close background of a picture put up for a pretty badass costume. He immediately came to me after that weekend asking me questions about the convention/my being furry. XD

I...dunno. I'll have a room this year so I'll probably be holed up in there some. I tend to just wander around at these things, I spent a good chunk of last year in the game room.

So, I got a free beta key for the upcoming game RIFT, because apparently the game itself "is being created on and operated by HP products"
Problem is, I really don't have any interest in playing yet another MMO, nor do I want to spend the time.
So, two things.
1. Who can tell me what this game is/what, if anything, is supposed to set it apart. The email I got wasn't very...convincing. And I can be a lazy ass and just ask you guys, which in return leads to 2...
2. Who wants the key?

Nothing but Egypt, Egypt and more fucking Egypt.
It's not that I don't care, it's just I get bothered when the media gets too caught up one one thing and ignores everything else going on. Same story with the miners that got trapped.
I've got maybe 2 good stories to share for this week, good thing I forgot to do NN last week and have plenty of leftovers to use.

At least for a month, I've rented out a server.
Depending on how well it performs, I might continue the rent.
