Posted 8 years agoWow so I'm sorry I never update this page. I've been trying to keep my commissioners updated about what's going on in my life and I don't want to cross post everything because so many people are watching both accounts. But if you don't happen to be doing that, you can check out my journals over on alishka to see why I've fallen off the face of the earth.
I'm off this week (my first vacation time since November, and that wasn't really vacation since I was doing crazy moving things) and I've got some stuff to do, but I want to work on art too.
One of the things I've been up to is preparing for my friends' wedding. It was on Saturday so all that craziness is over, but it had a fairy tale theme so all the bridesmaids were dragons and we all made pieces of our outfits. It was awesome. I'll have to get pictures of the wings I made and post them up since they're art and stuff lol. I can now add "super basic sewing" to my list of skills XD
Anyway, uuuhhhmmmmmm....today is my dad's bday so I have to go spend time with him. When this lease is up I'm moving into the back house at his place so imma go decide what I'm painting and buy paint and stuff so that can hopefully be done this week.
I hope yall are all staying safe and sound with all this madness weather that's been happening <3

the big moving day is tomorrow!
i got my license stuff all figured out (it never went through the system and got processed, ugh DMC) and i got auto insurance, so i can go to the DMV monday and hopefully leave with plates and a drive-able vehicle.
moving everything in a big caravan of trucks tomorrow, and maybe sunday i'll go get paint and do as much of that as i can (the current apartment colors are horrendous, wow). and then i can get everything finally situated in time for work on the 4th and for getting back into art!
been long enough, eesh!

Posted 9 years agoi just remembered that on top of the commissions that i just took and paying all the new-apartment-and-utilities fees and thanksgiving and moving this weekend and stuff, i ALSO HAVE TO GET CAR INSURANCE AND A CAR REGISTERED IN MY NAME before like next week. AAAHHHH!!!!!! and my license is a week late coming in the mail so i'm going to have to call the DMV tomorrow. ohmigosh i can't believe i forgot about all this. i'm not even done PACKING yet. what am i doing. guys, how do people do this? i'm not sure i can do this. i need help. what am i doing o.o *hyperventilates*

i don't usually talk about politics. i don't do politics. i don't know much about politics. and i probably won't reply to anything on this journal for the sake of not starting arguments (please don't start arguments. i'll delete this quick if it causes issues).
but i'm SCARED. the current US presidential election actually has me worried. very worried. i'm scared for this country. i'm scared what will happen. i'm actually considering looking up what the hell is involved in moving to the UK, because damn, this could be written as a horror movie
if people are actually voting this way, i'm scared for the current level of common sense and education here. and if certain people are elected, and i'm scared of what will happen in the future (checks-and-balances or no checks-and-balances x.x)

go vote, if you still can. vote for bernie, vote for someone who ISN'T trump. trump is terrifying. it's terrifying that he's made it this far. like, this isn't a joke anymore. i thought it was a joke.
i've put off registering to vote cuz i think it's better to not vote at all than to vote blindly and uninformed. but now i feel too informed and i'm registering and i'm voting.

Posted 9 years agoi really CANNOT stand some people. seriously. some people are complete and utter certified-royal douchbags and they don't even know it, even when it's pointed out to them. i am so angry and annoyed and frustrated, i'm really at a loss.
and then, in addition to all that crap, work today was awful.
even if this wasn't valentines day, it would suck. even if i was driven to and from work in a limo i didn't have to pay for and then tipped $10 by everyone who came into my cafe, today would not have been any better. even if i was picked up from work and then taken to dinner and to see Deadpool, today would not have been any better.
i'm so upset. and i can't do anything about it. and the one person who CAN do something about it (see: the dick i mentioned earlier) is too much of a dick to realize they're a dick, or feel bad about it, or try to do anything about it.

previously, for pretty much my whole life, i've had a pretty neutral opinion of valentines day. i didn't hate it, like some people, even though i've pretty much always been alone for it. i also have never loved it. but after this year, i'm pretty sure i'm going to become one of those people who get annoyed and bitter every time it's brought up

Posted 10 years agosooooo i got health insurance today o.o i've never ever had to deal with health insurance before. i hate doctors (they're scary) and i haven't gone regularly since i was really little and my mom made me, and then i didn't have insurance, and then i had to have insurance for the uni i went to but it was just given to me and i didn't have to worry about it, and then i didn't have insurance for a few years again until now. i'm fulltime at work so i could get it through them, and oh my god i don't know what half the words mean and what's good and what's bad or ANYTHING x.x but the window to get it closed today, so i had to, to avoid paying the fee -another- year (i'm still going to have to pay it for 2015)
so now just in case anything happens to me, at least i won't have to pay all of it.
oh and i get my wisdom teeth pulled out of my face. i guess that's important, but i really don't want to. sounds awful x.x

but my gallery now has folders for every single one of my characters. i think. i hope. i don't have ART for all the characters posted currently, but they should all be listed there. next i'll work on getting descriptions up for them

Posted 10 years agopeople are now ANGRY with me for wanting a white christmas and being upset that's it's 70F today. wtf, there's nothing WRONG with wanting a white christmas. i live in new york - it SHOULD be white. it has been most of my life and it's what i'm used to, what i've come to expect, what i look forward to for the holiday season. i get sick of it in jan/feb/march/april just like everyone else, but it doesn't feel like christmas without snow, and now everyone i talk to is making me feel a stupid, wrong, spoiled, bad person for wanting it. way to spread the holiday spirit......
