We will be hosting an NM Furs event at Explora for Adult Night on May 19th. The theme this month is “A Night with the Animals.” This is an 18+ only meet. We also plan on meeting for dinner afterwards at BJ's Brewhouse for late noms at 10:30pm, so if you can’t make it to Explora but still want to hang out, feel free to join us!

What: Sabaku Con furmeet! This is a great chance to come meet local furs/fursuiters at a fun local event! Fursuiters are welcome as well as ears, tails, kigurumi, or even cosplay! Sabakucon is the biggest local Anime con in ABQ, and grows bigger and better each year! Boasting a great dealers den, gaming room, and fun panels. Great for general geekery, anime fans, and furries.

 McJigglemeats here, with an announcement to some important changes to the chat rules of the NM Furs Telegram group

After some discussion, the admins of the chat have decided that you must be 13 or older in to to participate in this group. This is due to open-ended nature of federal laws in regards to children aged 12 and under and their participation in "online services" (which includes things like chat rooms).

The other new rule is that you must be 18 or older to create or host an event that you intend to share with the local group. People under the age of 18 are still welcome to participate! We request that you have your parent or guardian's permission to attend any events (or even bring them with you). Meets and events are usually public and open to all ages - if we were to announce an adults-only event, it will be made clear.

I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, however we feel it is in the community's best interest to minimize legal liabilities.

As a reminder, the other rules of the chat are "No posting cub, zoo, or adult (18+) content", and "Please warn before posting flashing gifs". This is a chat with several active participants under the age of 18, and flashing gifs can be a health hazard to people with certain medical conditions.
