Taking a step back
Posted 7 years agoThis morning on the way to the park to catch the sunrise, I noticed the full moon low on the horizon.
In many Wiccan and Pagan traditions, the full moon is the time to start diminishing or outright eliminating something from your life.
You set your intent to no longer do something or to take a break from it and then you follow through with that intention as the moon wanes. By the time of the new moon, what you want gone is... gone.
With the sheer amount of hate in the fandom recently and all the bickering back and forth even within established groups, I have decided to set my intention to reduce my involvement in all things furry. Perhaps I will be back someday when things have calmed down. Perhaps not.
I have already stripped most of the info from my FurAffinity profile and I have left several fur groups that I was involved in both on Discord and in Telegram. I will not be attending any fur cons or fur meets for the foreseeable future. I will remain in contact with close friends, most of which I already have on friends lists outside of FA.
This will almost certainly be the last thing I ever post to FurAffinity. I will remain a watcher and might occasionally favorite some artwork now and then, but that's about it.
What stories and pictures I already have here will probably remain for posterity sake if nothing more. For those I do not already have contact information for outside of FA, send me a note with whatever name you go by the most on Telegram, Discord or Steam and I will see about adding you to my contact list there.
I never thought I would say I say its time to move on from the furry fandom, but perhaps that is exactly what its time for.

Well, that was "fun"
Posted 7 years agoSo I recently found a cute bit of artwork in a Discord chat and decided to share it here.
First I did a search for keywords to see if it had already been submitted to FA so I could give credit and a link to the artist's FA page. There was a name written in the lower right hand corner of the piece but I couldn't tell if it was "Iguana Mouth" or "Icuana Mouth" or what the heck it was due to the way the second letter was written.
Doing a google search for the piece only brought it up on pinterest, which again doesn't give me any information about who originally uploaded it.
So I decided to upload the piece here and ask if anyone knew who the original artist was so I could give credit.
The sheer amount of hate that was spewed in the comments within the first hour alone was more than enough to convince me to delete the submission.
I did finally find the artist on Tumbler after typing "Iguanamouth" in google, all one word not two words like their signature in the piece indicated.
Bottom line: I see artwork submitted to Discord, Telegram and elsewhere all the time. Sometimes there is a link to the original artist's website. Most of the time there isn't.
I submit a piece of art here WITH a request for more information on it so I can give credit to the artist, and people think I'm an abomination, a plagiarist, a demon, etc.
Reminder to self: do not upload anything to FurAffinity ever again.

A Mouse's Year in Review -- 2017
Posted 8 years agoFirst things first. We somehow still have a President that is a cross between an orangutan and a farmyard hog.
I remain baffled as to how he got elected in the first place. His supporters seem to hang on every grunt, tweet, or fart-like sounds that he emits. I mean, I understand following the antics of an animal on YouTube and even subscribing to its owner's channel to see what kind of new silliness the critter might get up to next. But one does NOT elect a sub-human creature to the office of President of the United States.
The only reason I can think of as to why he's still in office is that its some kind of military experiment. The Department of Defense may be hoping that some of this creature's louder grunts or burps will finally offend a foreign power enough that another needless war can be started. I don't think its working out quite like the DoD had anticipated, however. Instead of being insulted by this monstrosity in the oval office, most of the rest of the world is just laughing or shaking their heads in disbelief and dismay. All the stereotypes that other countries have of United States citizens have been worsened tenfold. If they thought us stupid before they now must believe we have taken complete leave of our senses.
Setting politics aside, I got to go to Australia this year. It was the trip of a lifetime and though I will probably never get to go again, I will always remember and cherish every moment of it. I imagine the main reason I am still alive is because I went during the Australian winter, when most of the wildlife bent on death is hibernating.
On the downside, Rocky Mountain Fur Con was cancelled this year. It was my favorite convention and it got ruined by politics and social justice warriors seeing trouble where there was none. The divisions in this country go deep, as the cracks and crevices on the surface have penetrated all the way to the subculture of the furry fandom. Political and religious differences were always left at the door of the fandom. It was a place for those who shared a common interest to get together and celebrate that interest. Now its the SJWs vs the Raiders, the Atheists vs the Christians, the Christians vs the Muslims, etc. Its like the fandom has become a mirror image of the strifes and conflicts that occur in the world at large. That being the case, I'm uncertain when I will go to another convention. I am hoping all this blows over when the aforementioned abomination is no longer President, but I'm not sure it will.
At work I took a wage hit when all overnight positions were eliminated. Facing the choice of remaining at the store I've been at for five years or transferring to a supercenter to remain on night shift, I chose to stay where I was. I'm pretty certain I would not have found another accounting office position open at another store anyway. Though there is not much left of my job due to the cash recycler that was brought in over a year ago, its still better than any other job in the store. Most other jobs at the store require a lot of customer interaction and I'm not fond of working with the public, especially in the current social climate.
And finally, I will miss all those we lost this year both in the family and out. I've been thinking lately about when I was a kid and would play games with friends or neighbors. From time to time some argument about the rules would spring up leading to yelling back and forth along the lines of "I hit you first, you're dead!" "No way, you missed but I hit you back so YOU'RE dead!" "Nu-uh! YOU'RE dead!"
When you're a little kid death is like what happens to Wile E Coyote when he falls off a cliff. He turns in a coyote pancake for a little while but in the very next scene there he is again, chasing the roadrunner like nothing happened. In our teens we get a better grip on what death is but still think of it as something so very far away; nothing to worry about for a long time to come. Or we foolishly seek it out thinking it is the answer to all our problems. As we get older and we lose more and more friends and family, its like we are losing parts of ourselves. It becomes obvious that death isn't some door that you will one day step through but is instead a chisel that breaks little pieces off your heart your entire life. Each loss of a loved one is another piece broken away. You know its just a matter of time till that chisel hits your already fragile heart just the right way to shatter it completely. And when your heart is gone, so are you.
I lost a part of mine when Dad passed away, another huge part when Mom died, another when when my cousin died, and another big piece this year when my sister passed. Some days I'm not sure how much of my heart is left, but I know something is still there or else I wouldn't be here.
Well. I am not gonna end this year review on such a down note. I am looking to 2018 with hope for a better future. The wheel of fate is always turning, so it must turn away from the doom and gloom at some point. In the meantime I am going to get extremely drunk this evening. Hey, its New Years! I only get plastered a few times a year and this is one of them. I will get silly, laugh a lot, sing badly to 80s music, and just enjoy every moment.
Happy New Years!

Back from Australia
Posted 8 years agoMade it back in one piece. I think the fact that it was winter in Australia helped me to survive. All the real nasty critters were dormant or hibernating.
Took a ton of pics of kangaroos, downtown Brisbane, and the Blue Mountains. May post some of them here if there's interest in seeing em.

Vacation Doth Approach
Posted 8 years agoAfter losing RMFC I knew I wanted to do something with the vacation time I had requested for it. So I requested more time- basically most of August- and will be spending that time in Australia with
Haal aka Marko T. Rat.
Up until just a couple days ago I had not been letting myself get excited for the trip. With all the snags that could have cropped up in trying to get a passport and visa, booking the flights to and from and other potentially serious issues, there was a lot that could have gone wrong. And I'm still nervous about taking my first international flight.
But its finally starting to sink in that I will soon be spending days on end with my beloved Marko, and I will get to see some of the sights of Australia. Time with Marko has always been fleeting at best because we most often went to MFF together and there was always so much to do and so many folks to reconnect with.
Though with the state of the furry fandom currently, I'm not sure how much of a social furry I am anymore. Other than a few long time friends and a local group I'm becoming more a part of, the fandom doesn't hold the same appeal to me that it used to. Not with all the drama and hate floating around in it these days. I seriously doubt I will even go to MFF this year.
Anyhow, I'll be posting pics from the trip once I return. May try to post a few during as well but navigating FA's menus on a phone is a pain in the tail.
So any American furry friends: you can unlock your fridges now. I won't be raiding your cheese stashes anytime soon. Instead I'll be sampling the cheese menus on the other side of the world! =^.^=

RMFC is gone...
Posted 8 years ago...and I still can't believe it. This was my first con. It was where I first met ShadowCheetah and Elaki and so many others that I consider now as friends and family.
This was the con that forever banished any lingering doubts I had about what a fur con might be like. Before RMFC all I had was that one horrible CSI episode and a smattering of talk show episodes as glimpses of what furry cons were like. Thanks to RMFC I know that fur cons are nothing like those horrible stereotypes.
Though I will dearly miss this con, I hold no malice toward the con staff, volunteers, or anyone else involved in putting the con together every year. As time goes on I'm sure we will learn all the details about what went wrong and when. But I'm not going to jump on the "Lets all hate Sorin!" band wagon.
I was game room staff one year at RMFC and I volunteered in the game room a couple years after. I am sure that is nothing compared to the weight and responsibility of running an entire con, planning events, making schedules, securing room blocks, getting staff and volunteers, etc etc. So until I have personal experience with all the details of running a con- something I will never have, mind you- I am not going to point fingers and lay blame. I hope all the best for the con staff and chairman, and I hope that they can stay strong in the face or the public backlash they are now experiencing.
I just wish that something could have been done other than the cancellation of the entire con. And I hold out hope that another fur con will eventually be able to take the place of RMFC. I have heard rumors of a Mile High Fur Con getting started, but its still in its very early stages. I hope these rumors are true and that this con will be the one to fill the vacuum left by RMFC's demise.
*scampers off to curl up with a few pounds of cheese and NetFlix to take his mind off things*

The ending of an era
Posted 8 years agoI followed
GeneCatlow for a long time under my previous FA page but somehow I forgot to re-watch him when I went from being a lion to a mouse. While I know all the pages of his comic that I missed will likely still be on the internet for a long time to come, Gene himself is no longer with us. Gonna miss that old tomcat.
Albert Temple created the Gene Catlow comic at a time when online web comics were still a newish thing and no one was sure if they would last or not. 17 years later and the only thing that stopped the comic was the loss of its author.
I don't remember ever commenting on Albert's work, I just quietly admired him and his accomplishments over the years. Perhaps someday, somewhen, I'll get to shake his paw.

I don't remember ever commenting on Albert's work, I just quietly admired him and his accomplishments over the years. Perhaps someday, somewhen, I'll get to shake his paw.
MFF 2016 Review
Posted 9 years agoThis con certainly had its ups and downs, but that is the way of most furry conventions I've been to. I'm sure I'm going to forget certain moments in this review; there was just so much going on almost all the time ^.^
Sadly none of the Denver-area furs that I normally fly out to MFF with could make it this year so I had to fly solo. DIA is tricky to navigate and the freaking escalators are a nightmare. I don't like escalators and its as if there is one every twenty feet in that airport.
I did meet a few other furs while waiting to board the plane but we didn't get to sit anywhere near each other. The flight itself wasn't bad at all. I highly recommend "earplanes" earbuds to help relieve the ear pressures during ascending and descending in a plane. The first year I went to MFF I could barely hear anything for most of a day because my ears barely popped during the descent into Chicago. With earplanes I have no problem with that anymore.
I had almost cancelled going to the con this year after finding out that Marko wouldn't be able to make it. That rat is the main reason I go to MFF since it is the only time I get to spend with him.
But I did want to see Dittman again along with some other furs that I only get to see at cons. So when I arrived on Thursday it was with mixed feelings about the con.
At least until I stepped through the revolving door and into the lower lobby.
Seeing those familiar escalators and the glass stairs between them, seeing so many people already out and about, seeing several already roaming around in fursuit made all my memories of past MMFs come flooding back.
I was home.
I was the first of my roommates to arrive at the hotel despite being the one that traveled the furthest. After checking in and dispensing key to roomies as they arrived, I went exploring the con. Some of the first furs that I saw out in the con area were Arid, Loomy and Scruffy.
Despite the con boasting it would run Thursday through Monday, there was really not much to do on Thursday except wander about until the dance started. The board game room also opened for anyone that brought their own games. I spent most of my time wandering, taking in the sights and sounds of MidWest FurFest.
Friday the con was in full swing and I was finally able to fully suit up. I had sent my fursuit head off to MoreFurLess for some minor repairs weeks before and they shipped it to the hotel on Friday. Though the repairs were not major, Nodd's head looks a lot better now.
It was also on Friday that I saw a familiar cat for the first time. Someone was wandering about as Sylvester the Cat. It was a full fursuit and really well made. I grew up watching Sylvester & Tweety cartoons and I was pleasantly surprised someone would make a fursuit of such a well known character. It has inspired me to consider getting a Dale fursuit made: A Rescue Rangers Dale, complete with a gaudy orange and yellow Hawaiian shirt. If or when I do go for it, I will almost certainly commission MoreFurLess to make the suit.
Saturday was the fursuit menagerie, which replaced the parade this year. I think it went very well, and was certainly better organized than the parade. As furs were showing up for it, someone had a huge beach ball and was tossing it around. I found myself chasing after it along with a lot of other furs, each of us trying to grab onto it while yelling "Ball!" or "Mine!" xD
The menagerie itself was divided into several different photo shoots based on fur color, species, fursuit maker, etc. So I was able to get in on the rodent photo shoot, the grey photo shoot, and the MoreFurLess photo shoot. Pictures of all the shoots should be available on Flickr in the coming day.
Also on Saturday I went to a Bingo "panel" that was just that: a lot of furs playing bingo. The hosts of the panel were overwhelmed by how many folks showed up for the event, but it was a lot of fun. Afterward I attended a pagan furs panel that mostly delved into the history of paganism. A lot of it was stuff I already knew but I came away with a few new insights as well.
Our rodent room party was on Saturday afternoon and it was a lot of fun. Got to see Barkley, Tiptoe and Syn again along with some other rodents I knew plus some new ones as well.
Later that evening as I was fursuiting I saw Sylvester again. I called out "Suffering succotash!" just to see how he would react. I figured he would just wave, give me a thumbs up or the like. Instead he rushed over and hugged me, and pretended to be nibbling and nipping on my neck and ears. I was a mouse after all.
Getting so much attention from one of my childhood favorite cartoon characters just made me mellllllt. I have a new fursuit crush, for sure. I hugged and cuddled him for quite a few minutes before we parted ways.
Sadly I didn't catch a glimpse of his badge to get his name. But later I posted to Twitter about how getting to spend time with Sylvester was definitely one of the best parts of the con for me.
On Sunday it snowed, so there were a lot of fursuiters roaming about and having a good time out in the white stuff. Someone even built a little furry snowman, and I heard there were other.. ahem.. things, built out of the snow as well. xD
I also heard that Scruffy fell in the snow and hurt his wrist, and he later found out it was broken >.< Poor guy; I hope he recovers quickly!
Later that evening I was wandering about in fursuit when someone walked up to me and said "Hello! I want you to see something." He then held his badge up close to my eyes since he knew it would be difficult for me to see through my fursuit eyes. His name was PuddyCatUS. "Oh, its you!" I exclaimed, and gave him a big hug. He was my Sylvester! He told me he had seen the message I posted on Twitter and it meant a lot to him. Turns out he is an English fur and is soon moving to the United States. Wish I had asked him what part of the country he's moving to. After the recent election now is not the best time to move to this country, but he's likely had the move planned for quite some time. I wish him all the best and I fervently hope to get to see him again some day.
And just like that, the weekend was over with. It was time to fly back to Denver, and I was getting depressed. At least there were still a lot of furs wandering about the lobby, chatting, saying their goodbyes, etc. It was so active when I left that it still felt like the con was going on in some ways, which helped me pretend like it wasn't really over. Plus I had certain moments to remember and cherish, most of which involved that black and white cat ^.^
Jeez, here I am a mouse fawning over a cat! What is the world coming to?!
Shoutouts to: PuddyCatUS, Loomy, Arid, Dittman, Cleo, Growly, Barkley, Tiptoe, Syn, and likely several more that I either can't remember the names of or didn't catch their badge names.
MidWest FurFest had just a couple hundred fewer attendees than Anthro Con this year. Here's hoping that we become the biggest fur con in America in 2017!

MFF Meme 2016
Posted 9 years agoWhere are you staying?
The main hotel
What day are you getting there?
Thursday
Departure?
Monday
Transportation?
I'll be borrowing Wile E Coyote's bright green "Batman" suit for flight purposes.
Who will you hang out with during the convention?
Dyandod aka Dittman
and hopefully
AridWolf as well.
Will you be suiting?
Suiting?! Since when did MFF go all formal? Although if Nick Wilde can wear a tie I suppose I can too.
Which suits?
I only have one suit, really. I dunno if I'll bring it or not. Seriously, a suit over top all this fur? I'd burn up! Not to mention trying to tie the tie and not get it my fur caught in it >.>
What is your gender?
Male
How tall are you?
Varies. 5'9" normally but it can be half that or shorter depending on how recently a piano, a safe, or the Titanic has fallen on me.
Are you taken? Are you looking for a 'mate'?
Nope and not really.
Can I talk to you?
If I'm not getting chased by cats while I am chasing Mr. Peanut, sure ^.^
Can I touch you?
Hugs are fine long as you don't have weird substances in your fur.
How can I find you?
I will be on Telegram and Twitter on and off. Otherwise look for rodents. We tend to stay together for safety reasons.
Can I visit your room?
If you're a rodent, sure! If not then you will need to pass a 20 question written exam to certify that you're a vegetarian. Someone let a cat in our room a few cons back and I haven't seen one of my mice friends since ;.;
Will you be going to parties?
I may go scouting for parties, we'll see.
If I see you, how should I get your attention?
Yell "Hey Nodd!" Or start loudly listing off different kinds of cheese :9
What/where will you be eating?
Hope to have Chicago deep dish pizza again. Other than that, I'll probably go where ever my roommates go for food.
Can I come with you for food/fun/etc?
Maybe. I don't want to find myself suddenly stuck between two slices of bread again like what happened one year. I like to have never gotten all the mustard out of my fur. But at least it did allow me to wiggle free in time!
Can I take your picture?
Don't see why not ^^
What's your goal(s) for the con this year?
Forget that the world outside the con exists for several days. This will involve lots of cheese consumption and possibly some alcohol as well, along with lots of hugs and snuggles with friends new and old ^.^

RMFC 2016 Recap
Posted 9 years agoThis con was a real roller coaster ride, as all cons tend to be. I suppose that's a good thing! The con moved to a different hotel for this year only since our normal hotel was having a big remodeling. I'll be glad to get back to that hotel next year, that's for sure.
The con hotel was just four blocks from where some of my friends live. So one of my roommates gave me a ride to their place on Thursday evening. From there we toured the con area for a bit and were immediately apprehensive about the layout of the convention area. From the main hotel proper there was a roughly Z shaped corridor that lead to where most of the convention was to take place. This hallway was narrow at times and had two blind corners thanks to its shape. I was afraid this would lead to a lot of fursuiter collisions or other con-goers bumping into each other a lot but as far as I know that didn't happen too much. I got my badge and con bag, wandered about a bit more and then headed out.
Spent the night at my friends' place and from there a couple of us took off to the con early Friday morning. I helped setup the game room for a little while before the urge to wander and see people was just too strong. It wasn't long until I saw ShadowCheetah and some other friends checking in at the front desk. I was so happy to see the bestest cheetah! That spotted cat will always hold a special place in my heart, so any time spent with him is precious. Anyone who has read my previous con recaps knows that if it wasn't for this cheetah, I might not have ever gotten a fursuit of my own. He was the first suiter to give me a hug, and his outgoing and friendly nature is very catchy.
While we waited for our rooms to become available we went for food. While this one year only hotel for the con had its drawbacks (more on that later) the fact that there were so many eateries around it made finding food fairly easy.
Spent a good portion of Friday just roaming around the con area, which is always a fun thing to do. No telling what kind of antics or silliness you might find.
I have become more fond of going to the con's karaoke every year. First couple cons I only went on the last night. This time I managed two out of three nights. I was there Friday and it was a load of fun. Singing along with the songs you know is great, and just listening to songs you haven't heard before can be interesting. And of course, hearing some very talented- and not so talented but still very brave- singers up there giving it their all worth it. Of course, it also helps to go to karaoke at least a little drunk, which is what I do xD I only drink a few times a year and the con is one of those times.
Saturday I saw SoongDae with his giant makeshift styrofoam dice. I wasn't in suit so I was nice to him and just played his game. He had both his giant die this year and a slightly smaller one for dealing out punishments. Rolling the larger die could win you a hi-chew, a strawberry kit-kat or other neat little prizes. Rolling a punishment however got you smacked with the dreaded Paper Fans of Doom +3! (I don't know if he has names for the fans that's just what I made up xD). One section of the larger die would make you roll the Die of Judgement. This one was mostly punishments of varying degrees, the worst of which had him draw this huge fan out of a holster on his back in order to smack you with it along with the other fans. Having this ultimate punishment dealt to an unwitting dice roller was likely harder on Soong than on the contestant, as it involved getting that large fan off his back, unfolding it, dealing out the punishment, then getting everything put back the way it was.
There was a Cards Against Humanity tournament on Saturday evening. I love the game but rarely win a lot of points in it but I decided to give it a shot. There were five or six tables of folks playing the game which included the original game and all the expansions plus a furry expansion. Through luck of the cards and enough people deciding that enough horrible things were funny, I ended up with the most points at my table. The winning point at my table was a black card that read "Dear Abbey, please help! I can't get an erection without __________". I filled in the blank with a white card in my hand, so that the combination read "Dear Abbey, please help! I can't get an erection without an Amber Alert." Very very bad I know but it made me the winner of my table! xD
The winner of each table then got to fill out a blank white card in response to a black card which read "The thing I'm most looking forward to at RMFC 2016 is _________". My answer made the sentence complete with "The thing I'm most looking forward to at RMFC 2016 is taking advantage of drunk furries." A vote was cast as to which of the hand written white cards was funniest and I won! I got new unopened second expansion of Cards Against Humanity! :D
Afterward a bunch of us from the tournament went Applebees where I got a bit drunk. On the way back one of the girls in our group ran into a bush. While that would have been funny under normal circumstances, my drunk self just about laughed to death ^^; I ended up missing Saturday night karaoke in the process but it was worth it.
Sunday the con was winding down but there was still fun to be had. I crossed paths with Soong again and this time I was in suit. I managed to steal his Die of Punishment and run down the hall with it. Lots of folks saw me take it and went to laughing but apparently none of them told him who took it or which way I went xD I waited a while, laughing manically and twirling the die in my paws before I slowly wandered back the way I came. Someone in the group that was with him saw me, laughed and pointed at me. Then there was Soong, charging at me with his dreaded fans! I turned and high-tailed it (pun intended) back down the hall but alas, I could not escape. I threw down the die in a last ditch effort, hoping he would take it back and be appeased but I was a fool! Throwing down the die meant that I had rolled it.. and it landed on Super Punishment! Those paper fans will forever leave scars on my soul ;.;
Later I snuck up on him again and took one of those evil fans. When he began looking for it I revealed that it was I, Nodd Mouse, who had his weapon! An epic duel commenced but again, his power, speed and strength were far too much for a mere mouse to deal with. He disarmed me and I was nearly slain by those lightweight, harmless fans. Perhaps next year I will think twice about messing with him... only, not :p
I also wandered through the board game room a few times while in suit and "stole" dice (what is it with me and dice?!) from various games in the middle of being played. I would wander toward the door with my prizes but would always give them back, usually in exchange for scritches ^.^ The last such raid resulted in someone giving me a handful of D&D spare dice from a large bag in exchange for the ones I had taken. I still have those spare dice; they will always be a reminder of the silly playfulness of that night :)
The night ended with me getting rather tipsy on three shots of vodka and coke chasers at the bar before heading off to the game room. There I sat and cuddled with Elaki for most of the rest of the night, singing songs and enjoying the atmosphere. Got to cuddle and scritch Aridwolf some more as well as lots of Loomy cuddles.
Everyone in the room gathered to sing the Bohemian Rhapsody, after which the con was over with ;.;
Today ShadowCheetah and just about everyone we roomed with went out for one more dinner together. Lots of chatting and laughing over some pretty good food and finally we had to go our separate ways.
Other highlights and lowlights of the con included the guest of honor dinner which featured some amazing food. One poor waiter crashed a plate full of cheesecake slices onto the floor, and a makeshift curtain/wall kept trying to fall down, so there was some amusement as well xD
The cocktail party was a fiasco. More than eighty people showed up for it and the hotel had only set up a handful of tables and had just one bartender to serve everyone.
The hotel told the con board that we couldn't use certain rooms. So schedules were changed and events were moved around. Then the hotel said we could have those rooms after all and set them up for us despite the con board telling them we had already made other arrangements. This lead to lots of confusion and people getting to events late.
The fursuit photo shoot and parade were a complete waste of time thanks to poor planning and the sharp narrow hallways. I will be so glad to be back at the other hotel next year.
Wow this was long winded. My thanks to anyone who read it all! And thank you everyone that attended RMFC 2016 and helped make the con one to remember! :D
Sunday the con was winding down but there was still fun to be had. I crossed paths with Soong again and this time I was in suit. I managed to steal his Die of Punishment and run down the hall with it. Lots of folks saw me take it and went to laughing but apparently none of them told him who took it or which way I went xD I waited a while, laughing manically and twirling the die in my paws before I slowly wandered back the way I came. Someone in the group that was with him saw me, laughed and pointed at me. Then there was Soong, charging at me with his dreaded fans! I turned and high-tailed it (pun intended) back down the hall but alas, I could not escape. I threw down the die in a last ditch effort, hoping he would take it back and be appeased but I was a fool! Throwing down the die meant that I had rolled it.. and it landed on Super Punishment! Those paper fans will forever leave scars on my soul ;.;
Later I snuck up on him again and took one of those evil fans. When he began looking for it I revealed that it was I, Nodd Mouse, who had his weapon! Posted 9 years agoPost Zoo Depression?
Posted 9 years agoI don't know if anyone has been in a funk since seeing Zootopia but I sure have. After the high of seeing the movie for the second time I've sort of just.. crashed. All I can think about is Zootopia and the characters and how cool it would be to live there and how it can never ever happen. Was thinking about seeing the movie yet again but I dunno if that would do more harm than good in my current state. I feel like an empty husk, just going through the motions at work and coming home to look for more Zootopia art and the like online. I haven't reacted like this to a movie since The Lion King. And the funk I was in after seeing it lasted several months. I barely could bring myself to eat and lost a lot of weight. I suppose if that happens again the silver lining would be that I do need to lose some weight.
Zootopia Aftermath
Posted 9 years agoWent and saw Zootopia this evening with ShadowCheetah and Kit. I won't go into details to avoid revealing spoilers, but I will say this movie is AWESOME! Looking forward to seeing it again sometime soon ^^
Zootopia News
Posted 9 years agoBreaking news: Zootopia will be released world wide on March 4th but it seems to be getting loose March 3rd in some cities. Its hitting theaters the evening of March 3rd here in Denver. This is one movie I am determined to go see the first day that I can! And then probably the second day.. and the third.. and the fourth.. xD
Final Stand
Posted 10 years agoYep, we mice are timid and shy most of the time. But you really, really don't want to get on our bad side.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens
Posted 10 years agoFinally went to see the movie. And it was.. epic.
I won't give away any spoilers but yes, epic. There were a couple of "Yeah, yeah seen this done before" scenes but the movie was still great. And those few scenes wouldn't be old hat to someone who has not seen Star Wars movies before.
JJ Abrams may have put the last nail in Star Trek's coffin but he is certainly good at directing Star Wars movies.
A look back on 2015
Posted 10 years agoSemi-swiped from
InuOkamiIn 2015, did you...
Lose any friends?
Almost, twice. One didn't leave after all and I think I gained the other one back.
Make any new friends?
Got to chat with quite a few furs at MFF this year and got contact info for some of them, if that counts?
Make any new enemies?
Not that I'm aware of.
Do anything you regret?
Spent too much, as per usual.
Go to any parties?
The Rodent Room Party at MFF was pretty fun!
Accomplish anything?
Does gaining weight count?
Make much money?
Nope.
Attend a wedding?
Nope.
Attend a funeral?
Nope.
Get any new family members?
Got a new roommate in 2014 and I now consider him to be family. As a popular saying goes "I've got family that ain't blood, and blood that ain't family."
Get into a verbal fight?
A couple times.
Get into a physical fight?
I'm a mouse. I know better than to start fights >.>
Attend any sporting events?
Meh, don't care for most sports.
Get arrested?
Nope
Wreck your car?
Don't own one.
Make any big purchases?
Permanent purchases? Nope. Spent a lot of money getting to and from cons, though.
Learn anything?
Those little tabs you pull up on and then push back to open a can of soda? Know that curious little hole in the tab? Its there because you're supposed to pull the tab forward again and put a straw through that hole to drink the soda. I'm old enough to remember when canned soda was more of a novelty than anything else, but I never knew this.
Fall in love?
I've always had a fear of falling. I think that has extended to falling in love as well. I doubt it will happen again.
Dump your bf/gf?
Haven't had a real bf since around 1999.
Get dumped by your bf/gf?
See answer to the above question.
Develop any new health problems?
Doctor is wanting me to watch my cholesterol. I tried dieting for a few weeks but that quickly fell by the wayside.
Change as a person?
Think I've matured more in the past few years than I have my entire life before then.
Get any new piercings?
Not in a quazillion years!
Get any new tattoos?
Not in a trillion years!
Attend a concert?
They're much too noisy for my tastes.
Start to resent something or someone that you used to like?
Kinda sorta.
In 2015, how many….
Different places did you work?
One. Same job I've had since 2012.
Times did you go out drinking?
Three times. Once at RMFC, once at MFF and once at New Year's Eve.
Times did you smoke marijuana?
Once, and had a coughing fit afterward. Edibles for me, please.
Drugs did you take?
Just various over the counter meds for colds, and the occasional edible marijuana.
Times did you go to the movies?
Three times. Went to see Avengers: Age of Ultron, Jurassic World, and San Andreas. Of the three I think I liked San Andreas the best.
People did you make out with?
None.
Times did you get your ass kicked?
Outside of video games, none.
Crushes did you have?
Around four, I think. Only met one in person.
In 2015, what was….
Your favorite day of the year?
Halloween
Your favorite band?
Imagine Dragons
Your least favorite day of the year?
I dunno. Any day I'm sick with a cold is in the top ten on that list.
Your favorite movie?
Haven't watched many movies in 2015 but I suppose my favorite was San Andreas.
Your favorite song of the year?
I don't listen to a lot of new music. My current favorite song is from 2012: "Demons" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GFQYaoiIFh8
Something that didn’t change at all this year?
My hairline continues to recede at a steady pace.
Your favorite holiday?
Halloween
Misc. questions about 2015...
Were you in a hospital this year?
Nope
Were you in an ambulance this year?
Nope
Did you make any big confessions in '15?
Finally came to terms with the fact that I have a bit of a jealous streak. As much as a polyamorous relationship appeals to me I know now that if I am ever to have another relationship it will be one on one.
What’s the best thing to happen to you this year?
Rocky Mountain Fur Con. It is the best thing out of each of the past few years.
Did you vote this year?
Nope
Did you bring sexy back this year?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9o19CaOSuD8
Was 2015 a great year, an average year or a bad year?
It was a pretty good year all in all ^^
