i'll be removing my discord username from FA because it's come to my attention that people do not treat it for what it is - a chat app, for chatting with friends. instead people have been ignoring explicit instructions on how to send me commission info (email... or my form, or a document file i can bookmark...) and interspersing their chatting with work things at /all hours/ and /all days of the week/ leaving me feeling very stressed out and without any single day to myself.

i ask for people to send info on discord during livestreams because it's quick - and i am speed painting. it is not information i need to come back to days or weeks later. but detailed commission information quickly becomes lost, muddled, changes misplaced, edits forgotten as it is buried under a steady stream of casual chatter. it's not a work program for me. it doesn't work AS a work program for me. i have -always- asked for information to be sent in email or via my forms, so this is not a change.

this sunday i had no fewer than six people try to chat about work on discord - /six/. as late as 7.30pm. the day after i spent 4-5 hrs speedpainting nonstop without water, food or bathroom breaks...you'd think i'd maybe want a day off??? but not if i'm online on discord talking to friends, apparently :T

so... not thrilled. because i wanted to be more open to talking to people and making friends. but i'm going to go crazy if i can't
'turn off' work inquiries at all.

this is not an invitation to suggest ways to make discord my work platform. i DO NOT WANT IT TO BE. just. please. respect the artist's rules of engagement and workflow. just because the time is free and right for -you- does not mean i'm going to pop into existance ready to roll like a shop npc in a game. and for every person who thinks "it'll just be me, just this one time, surely its ok to make an exception..." there's literally five people doing the exact same thing.
