spring is here and for the most part, i've been well and able to keep up with my own expectations again! though i did fall a bit behind this last week, as ren had a surgery to remove two bad teeth and alph was bit by a mastiff on his route aaaand i got my second shot of moderna which absolutely -flattened- me for a day. like, the nausea wasn't as bad as chemo but it was honestly very close.

i also have family saying they'd like to visit later this month, and i'll be without power all saturday this week as an electrician updates stuff on the house.

i'm relieved to be vaccinated now though. i don't have to worry if other peoples' masks are being worn properly, and while the risk of me being a carrier still exists for others i'm now less likely. and as bad as moderna jab 2 was, it was only a day. and it didn't really seem to sicken alph at all, so ymmv. please get vaccinated.

the sooner youre vaccinated, the sooner we'll all be hanging out in person again.

hang in there yall. the future is dependant on you caring about others as well as taking care of yourself. if you cant do both, its gonna be hard. if you refuse to do both, youre goin backwards my friend.

omfg thank you everyone here who boosted, donated and helped out with kei's fundraiser to get out of poland. we just hit the goal today like literal minutes after i sent the first wire transfer to his bank. it'll be there monday, and im guessin the other half of gfm's funds will reach me around that same time.

any extra in the fundraiser at this point still goes to kei, with the goal of helping him start his new life in germany. there's screencaps o f the first wire transfer (along w disclosure abt wire transfer fees etc) in the gfm's updates section.

idk if you're aware, but Poland is getting extremely bad for LGBT folks. my friend kei (who was a huge emotional support to me during my chemotherapy) is a visibly queer man and is no longer safe living in the country he was born and raised in. So with his permission (he's got stalkers, so obvz didnt want to set one up himself) i'm running a GFM to move him over the border.

let me preface this with saying: tendonitis for an artist (esp in the hand) is almost never, ever, ever good news.

but in 2010 i had enchondroma in my hand which was then removed surgically and THAT was what was hurting and.... if enchondroma recurrs... tho its very rare... it's generally cancerous. and if that was the case, the solution would have been not just chemotherapy but also amputation of the finger. on my drawing hand.

SO.....
when i saw the hand specialist this week and was told tendonitis?? i was relieved. literally the only time tendonitis is a good thing to hear.

in six weeks if it still hurts (it will) i'll get a shot in the tendon that will stop the pain. until then i'm just muddling along trying to get work done in spite of it.

i'm just relieved that it's not more cancer. really not ready for another bout of that just yet.
anyhoo, if you wondered where my art was.... it's a toss up between recovering from surgery and ongoing hand pain lol

ok it was less surprise more just 'slightly earler than previously expected due to covid' surgery. but i guess thats what happens when ur organs show they refuse to stop producing a hormone that is food for my cancer woooooo

so im healing now from 3 little incisions in my abdominal wall (one in my bellybutton...ow) and a couple snips on the inside. if someone could get it through the cats' heads that stepping directly on those incisions is not helping me heal, i'd greatly appreciate that.

got some family stuff going on that's not good. my aunt's very sick, kind of in denial about how bad it is. i'm worried i may not see her before she's out of time because of all the quarantine rules and how far away she is.

also ma is trying to log into my student loans, posing as me. she's called the company and impersonated me already. they're misgendering me now because of that. she acts like it's all an innocent mistake and then immediately goes and shittalks me to the rest of the family behind my back in a family chat that she forgets my spouse is in (tho im not).

every burning cop car lifts my spirits a little bit tho.

i absolutely am gonna lose my shit on some dipshit not wearing their mask correctly/at all before all this is over with, though. alph has said he can tell i'm getting close. "it's like your power level is rising." im going to fucking destructodisc an entire walmart just watch me

during chemo this is like all i did. wash hands, stay away from other humans, monitor self for infection, worry about people carelessly spreading viruses and bacteria ....

so honestly i'm not having a hard time shifting my mindset back to that to deal with this outbreak, even though i myself am not as at risk as i was last year.

hope yall are well and your loved ones are too. wash your hands. also only one political canidate has looked at this and said 'yes universal healthcare is necessary' and its bernie... so... yknow...call me a single issue voter but having had cancer at a younger age than is expected kind of skews your thoughts there. but wow i do not like the rest of the us political field on this issue. times is rough. hang in there.
