Random, I know. But I hate checking deviantART anymore because all the feedback I get is on, GASP, my old fucking Avatar fanart. And, yes, I still like the series, but I am no longer obsessed with it. And that art is OLD. And I REFUSE to watch the live action movie, so I'm a bit behind the times. So I'm not making any more Avatar fanart. SO STOP WATCHING ME FOR IT, YOU IDIOTS.

On a completely different note, Nylak is gonna go be a sea otter for a change and is shipping off to Hawai'i for a week or so, and will return January 10th.

So I'm finally going to AC this summer with a huge harem small herd of friends, which should be interesting in and of itself. But now I'm toying with the idea of getting a partial suit of my fursona (the otter thing) to accompany me for jollies.

Thing is, I'm broke. And I've seen some suit artists do trades with other suit artists, like head trades and the like. And I was wondering if anyone knows of a suit artist who'd do a head trade with me for digital art. XD For my half, I'd offer...well, whatever is wanted (full digital painting valued at $200, or smaller pieces or badges or whatever for less, etc), and would fill in the rest of the price with cash.

Looking for an otter head with only two colours of fur, pretty darn simple design.


...Again, just toying with this idea. But suggestions (or offers!) would be fantastic. XD

Okay, so we're ALMOST licensed (have our department of ag license, just need our 501©-3 approved/filed). We also currently have 6 dogs in our program (a 2-year-old male pit, a pair of 5-month-old pit/terrier mixes, a 6-month-old lab/pit mix, a 2-month-old pit, and a 2-month-old bull terrier).

Sorry, this is kind of a random post, but I need help.

So I’m starting a very small pit bull/“bully breed” rescue, and it needs a name before I can submit my licensing/certification application. Aaaaand all the good ones have been taken.

SO I NEED THE HELP OF ALL Y’ALL BRILLIANT FURRIES. Please give me some suggestions for names! It can be a retarded clever little anagram type deal (like PAWS—Pits Are Worth Saving), something fancy (like Broken Hearts, Mended Souls or Project Precious Paws), or something basic (Central Missouri Pit Bull Rescue).


THE BACKGROUND STORY:
As some of you know, I’m an intake manager at the Central Missouri Humane Society. We have a policy of euthanizing pit bulls, pit mixes, and any “bully breed” dog (such as cane corsos, dogo argentinos, etc). This rescue will be very small and operate out of foster homes, and will only take bully breed dogs that come into the shelter that are highly adoptable and need no rehabilitation or socialization prior to adoption.

So basically, this rescue will be the only chance for these dogs—their only other option is euthanasia. We’ve been toying around with names like “nick of time” or “last chance,” but all the ones we come up with are already taken or are totally depressing. >__>

Somewhat longterm health issue (2-6 weeks), SAR-related court subpoena, literally soul-crushing assignments at work, and the impending death (finally euthanizing tomorrow morning) of one of my adored ferrets have kept me offline, if only due to insane amounts of stress rather than a lack of time to get on the computer.

I don't even know how I'm functioning right now. BRB, jumping out a window.

I'm holding a collab commission auction with my dearest  alohinun to raise funds so he can come visit me this month. :D I'll be doing the initial sketch, and he'll be doing all the inking/colouring cause he's kickass.

Seriously, I've been without Photoshop for about 2-3 months now because of Adobe giving me the runaround. I'm so fucking sick of this bullshit.

So I need one of those serial code generators, a keygen or whatever they are, for Adobe Photoshop CS4. I just bought the student edition, and Adobe is being a asshole and not giving me the serial code for it, so I've given the fuck up and am resorting to pirating a code.

Even though I already fucking paid $200 for the program.

I'M TRYING TO BE A GOOD PERSON. STOP MAKING ME DO THIS, ADOBE. GOD DAMN IT.

I will love/possibly give a gifty to anyone who can get me one of these program thingies that works for me. Much appreciation, dudes and dudettes. T__T

I forgot to update my journal when I finished moving into my new place. Sooo...uh, I'm all moved in.

Obviously I have internet back. But I'm not really back into drawing yet, clearly. I have one more commission to finish, but probably won't offer anymore once I finish that one up. I guess I'm in kind of a two-year-artistic-rut. Which sucks. Oh well.

Once I'm done with final commission, I may hold another auction...or I might just focus on drawing my comic Taboo for awhile. God knows it's been neglected the last few months.

So some small few of you may know I "recently" was contracted with a publisher to create a straight-to-print three book graphic novel series called Taboo. Those of you who didn't know, surprise!

Unfortunately...my editor (and, by extent, publisher) and I mutually dropped eachother, for the following reasons:

1. I couldn't meet deadlines because I am a horrible person.
2. We had conflicting style preferences for the art.
3. I am not a writer! He ended up rewriting quite a bit of dialogue, which was fine at first, but eventually it began to change the characters too much for my taste.
4. He wanted it NC-17, I wanted it R at absolute max. This was the final conflict.

So now I'm free of my contract, but I will be completing Taboo regardless (I've put WAY too much work into this project not to see it to completion). Instead of offering it in book form, I'll be making it into a web comic, free to access. :D Yay! I've got quite a bit of work ready to display, but I need to set up a website for it yet, so it may be a couple more months until it's available. Keep an eye out, if you care; I'll make another journal and post some pages and promo art when I'm ready to start pushing it. ^^;

So it turns out it's cheaper for me to upgrade to CS4 than to upgrade to CS3, so I bought the upgrade disks (could have paid for a download, but for $200 I want the fucking disks, thanks) from Adobe a week and a half ago and paid for 2-3 day expedited shipping. Since not having Photoshop anymore sucks ass.

Obviously (due to blatant lack of uploads over the past few months) I've been having issues drawing lately. So I figure even thinking about taking on commissions again for awhile would be a ferociously bad idea.

Yes, still gonna finish the two I have on my plate, durr, they're almost done anyway. But if I told you I could tentatively offer you a commission slot recently...I take it back. >_>;

I'll hold an auction for a single slot maybe later this month, once I've finished what's on my plate. But that's it. I just kinda want to plink around on photoshop for fun for awhile.

I'm almost finished with my current commissions, and since I do not have classes this semester and I'm only working part-time I need to scrape together a little extra cash on the side. So I'll be opening a couple slots in February. If you're seriously interested, note me and I might make a first-come-first-served list.

There will be two slots. The only commissions I am offering are single character portraits. These portraits will be in my "usual" semi-realistic digital painting style and will have a stylized or simple background. They can be full body, or be a bit more "zoomed in" to allow for more detail. I'm also no longer accepting particularly adult material; somewhat tasteful nudity at most, nothing outrageously yiff-tastic. If you want to know if a specific idea is acceptable, ask me before committing.

Prices will be set tight at $200 USD, via Paypal only. The first $100 will be due once you approve a concept sketch, and the final $100 will be due once you receive the finished commission and find it to your satisfaction. If I am not able to complete the commission once I have started, you will receive a full refund. I will not accept the final $100 until you are completely satisfied with the product, and will make changes as needed.

I know it's pretty pricey, but to reach X amount of money I'd rather have a small amount of commissions that I can work hard on than a large amount of commissions that aren't up to my personal standards.

Obviously I'm still finishing up my current commissions (and working on Taboo), but this semester I am not taking classes, and thus will be working full time. So it turns out my version of Photoshop "doesn't work on Windows 7." Ignore the fact that it's been working FLAWLESSLY for the past month. All of a sudden it punked out today..and that's all, folks. Called Adobe support, talked to two different people, who both confirmed that CS1 is not compatible with Win7 and both were baffled that I ever got it to work at all.

So...

For those of you who are also dA whores, you know what a Daily Deviation is. Well, I got my fourth today, on my recent submission "Her Eyes," a furrification of my girlfriend, and almost 1/4 of the ~500 comments I got on it were negative.

You know, I never really bought into the whole "fursecution" thing until now...I guess people just really don't like furries, huh? I don't really understand it. I mean, it honestly took me completely by surprise. This drawing is one of the tamest furry drawings I've uploaded lately, and THIS is the one to get the negative attention? lolwhut? XD

Seriously. What the hell is so "creepy" about anthro art? o__O;

Okay, I've finally gotten my new computer, and IT WORKS WHOOO. It's officially broken in (and I'm used to the new screen/tablet dimensions ratio...my new monitor is an ultra-wide screen and my tablet is just a normal widescreen, so adjustments had to be made).

So...no more excuses for me! Back to work! :D

I have two commissions to finish (you know who you are, and I am so sorry; I owe you guys special gifts on top of your commissions T__T), but then I will be holding a new commission auction with the full profits going to my place of employment, the Central Missouri Humane Society.
