Confusion of Identity: Nummynumz / nyum-nums

nummynumz and I, 
nyum-nums are NOT the same person. We had an accidental similar name problem when I joined Tumblr a while ago and moved here to FA. Since then, people have mistaken us for each other multiple times, gotten commissions confused, and have even approached them in-person at conventions about work they got from me.
I and Tartii/nummynumz are NOT the same person.
I do NOT go to conventions.
I do NOT suit.
I do NOT have a dragon/dino-sona.
I am a male, 26 yo, with a Stoat fursona. I just happened to accidentally create a name similar to the long-established Tartii's vore account.

This change will not be effective immediately. But do know that soon [after the Iron Artist is over] I will be moving over to starstruck-studios permanently. Go follow it now to start getting the new updates, and be ready when the switch-over happens! I will upload all my favorite old work to Starstruck-Studios to archive it and give a good foundation.
Starstruck will combine all my work under one umbrella. SFW, Fetish, NSFW. Everything will be marked appropriately, and commissions/personal work will be more clearly named. I need this change, because I feel myself drifting out of touch with nyum-nums as a brand, and Kink-mink never connected with me.
Starstruck Studios gives me a framing device for my freelancing, and it's run by characters I am very connected with right now.

What does this change?

With a month and a half of heavy work, I'm on the last 6 SFW Iron Artist slots, and the last 9-ish NSFW. I am almost done SKETCHING them, not finishing, which means I'll be passing them off for approval soon.
However, with so many sketches, the easiest method would be a large FA post, and then comments from each participant either approving their sketch, or emailing me for changes. I will email all participants with the link when it's up.
Once approvals are sent, I will be finishing these off rapid-fire. I apologize for it taking so long, I did not expect this IA to bleed into the next year. I will be taking this into mind, moving forward.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Think of it like a Framing Device for my commissions. It makes them more interesting and immersive, and fuses 'work' with 'fun.'
On top of all that, Star and his crew are working up some special projects in the background, waiting to be released. There may even be a mawshot pack in the near future... you'll have to follow and see!
I don't get to do personal work often. So this new project has been a lot of fun to keep my spare time between commissions occupied on twitter. Check it out if you have a minute, you won't regret it.~

I've been starting a new project there called 'Starstruck Studios.'
Starstruck Studios is an interactive, live feed art project surrounding a new cast of characters of mine. Star, the main ringleader, is a wish-fulfilling creature with a lot of spunk who runs a place called 'Starstruck Studios'. There, he and his team of flirty crew members work to make fantasies and wishes come to life in the form of 'commissions,' or as they call them, 'sessions,' It's like a themepark/gentleman's club for fantasies, set in an inter-dimensional pocket dimension. All manner of characters can exist and interact there, no matter where they're from! You can meet your favorite fictional 'celebrities' there, order sessions/commissions with them or the cast members, or just explore around the place.~Think of it like a Framing Device for my commissions. Surgery Cancelled / ART UPDATE
Posted 6 years agoUnfortunately, my insurance refuses to pay a cent for my surgery [which is nearly 9k], so the procedure will have to wait until next year. It'll be painful to wait, but I cannot justify saving up that much when I could use that on bills.
So at the very least, I won't have to take a month or two off this year.
That being said: It's looking like between my queue, patreon, old ych's I have yet to post, collabs, and Iron Artist/Iron Artist upgrades, I've pretty much got the entire year lined up for commissions. As such, I will continue to do regular updates on journals when I have something else to say with it.

Future Surgery: 2019 + COMMISSION UPDATE
Posted 6 years agoIt's very likely that some time this year, I will be having a major surgery that will prevent me from being able to draw for a few weeks, to possibly a month or two should healing be slow. The surgery isn't life-threatening, but it is going to be a painful/slow recovery according to my doc unless things go 100% optimal. In that time, I will not be able to take or work on commissions. I'll be doing my best to earn funds ahead of time to combat this. Thank you for your patience in advance.
To help alleviate this period where I will be unable to work, after the Iron Artist is finished I will be focusing all my attention on 1 massive, crowd-funded project that I know quite a few of you will be interested in. It has to do with a certain animation I did in 2018, and adding sound/color to it. I don't have my ducks all in a row yet, so stay tuned for that.~

Many artists have longer queues, but this is astronomical for me.
What happened?
♢ Started moving plans in Jan, found house in April
♢ Slated Iron Artist [100 comms] for Jun
Walking Pneumonia in May, launched IA Jun 1st, recovered Jun 21st
♢ Prepared for move Jun 21st-July 2nd, moved out for 1st time July 3rd/4th
♢ No internet for 1.5 weeks
♢ Moved roomie in Jul 16th
♢ Lower back injury start of Aug
♢ Mental Health decline start of Aug
♢ Took August off to recover
♢ Brought home new kitten in August
♢ Computer hard drive failure in early Oct
Combined with home/social life, managing a house, etc. These are normal life things, but I underestimated moving out for the 1st time and got my ass kicked with a comedy of badly timed delays.
To reiterate, 90% of this is the work that accumulated over that time, equaling over 100 pieces.

Behind-the-curtain looks at my business are rare, but it's needed for the time being.
In addition to all my paid work, this is about 2/3rds of my Personal Work Trello going on concurrently. 'My Art' and 'Other' are grossly lacking in their actual size. Note most are Animation.

I am a 'diagnosed' workaholic by my therapist, friends, and family, along with a few medical conditions.
Daily schedule: Get up, feed cat, forget to eat, take roomie to work, sit at computer, pick up roomie from work, finally eat, go to bed around 2-5 am.
Daily thoughts:
♢ You HAVE to work, or people will be angry
♢ No weekends off
♢ Your quality is slipping, take a break
♢ You're taking a break for too long, keep working
♢ Which commission was I going to do today?
I was never taught what running a business or being 'professional' entailed; I am learning this on my own, at the unfortunate expense of my clients. Only recently have I started researching resources & looking to other artists, instead of winging it on my own.
Cycle -> Take too many commissions, stress and shut down, deadlines approach, work nonstop until burn-out or injury, involuntary break, bills approach, ♢ Repeat ♢
Factors:
♢ Scattered comm info/losing comms
♢ Bad communication habits
♢ Taking on too much at once
Thus:

Working towards a structured business, instead of the jumbled mess it is currently.
Take-aways:
♢ Using Oct to work on my business from the foundation-up. Structure and Organization are key to set in place for 2019
♢ Patreon will NOT return in Nov, working on an alternative for commission subscriptions
♢ Future Iron Artist events, if any at all, will not be done near big life changes. And, slots will be reduced to no more than 30 if I do an IA again
♢ I deeply apologize for my unprofessionalism.
Getting level with you all: your support is why I haven't had to crawl back to a retail job. Never doubt what it means to me, despite my lack of communication, and my constantly broken deadline promises.
I am working on it, but I am very slow.

♢ Moved roomie in Jul 16th
♢ Lower back injury start of Aug
♢ Mental Health decline start of Aug
♢ Took August off to recover
♢ Brought home new kitten in August
♢ Computer hard drive failure in early Oct
Combined with home/social life, managing a house, etc. These are normal life things, but I underestimated moving out for the 1st time and got my ass kicked with a comedy of badly timed delays.
To reiterate, 90% of this is the work that accumulated over that time, equaling over 100 pieces.

Behind-the-curtain looks at my business are rare, but it's needed for the time being.
In addition to all my paid work, this is about 2/3rds of my Personal Work Trello going on concurrently. 'My Art' and 'Other' are grossly lacking in their actual size. Note most are Animation.

I am a 'diagnosed' workaholic by my therapist, friends, and family, along with a few medical conditions.
Daily schedule: Get up, feed cat, forget to eat, take roomie to work, sit at computer, pick up roomie from work, finally eat, go to bed around 2-5 am.
Daily thoughts:

♢ No weekends off
♢ Your quality is slipping, take a break
♢ You're taking a break for too long, keep working
♢ Which commission was I going to do today?
I was never taught what running a business or being 'professional' entailed; I am learning this on my own, at the unfortunate expense of my clients. Only recently have I started researching resources & looking to other artists, instead of winging it on my own.
Cycle -> Take too many commissions, stress and shut down, deadlines approach, work nonstop until burn-out or injury, involuntary break, bills approach, ♢ Repeat ♢
Factors:

Working towards a structured business, instead of the jumbled mess it is currently.
Take-aways:
♢ Using Oct to work on my business from the foundation-up. Structure and Organization are key to set in place for 2019
♢ Patreon will NOT return in Nov, working on an alternative for commission subscriptions
♢ Future Iron Artist events, if any at all, will not be done near big life changes. And, slots will be reduced to no more than 30 if I do an IA again
♢ I deeply apologize for my unprofessionalism.
Getting level with you all: your support is why I haven't had to crawl back to a retail job. Never doubt what it means to me, despite my lack of communication, and my constantly broken deadline promises.
I am working on it, but I am very slow.
New, realistic promises moving forward:
♢ No more promising work deadlines to force stress upon myself
♢ Take weekends off
♢ Finish Trello by Halloween
I don't know when comms will be done, but invoice deadlines will be extended greatly. I cannot say 'before the end of the year,' despite this being the goal. For the time being, no more promised deadlines.

Computer Corrupt- Files SAFE, Work DELAYED
Posted 7 years agoSSD boot sector corrupted tonight, and booting my computer is impossible. Work on any and all commission art is delayed. Most files should be safe, but we'll have to wait and see if I lost anything.

2 Winter Crowd-Funded Projects
Posted 7 years agoAs I get back to the Iron Artist and slowly chip away at that, I find myself looking to the future after this event is over and my queue is completely emptied. I have two projects planned, both of a crowd-funded nature.
One of them will be a 'pay-to-feed' picture like I have seen a few artist friends hosting. I'm in need of purchasing a license for TVPaint [my animation program], as my current version is crashing more and more, and corrupting files. The program costs nearly $1,700 after customs and shipping, though. So, there will likely be a 'Feed Runiko' drive to get the funds for that.
Going perfectly alongside this is something I'm sure many people would like to see: Pantry Thief being colored in full!
The commissioner has already stated that they cannot afford to get it colored, despite wanting it. They are, however, okay with having it funded by people who would ALSO like to see it be colored. There will be a fund-drive for this as well, and each milestone will equal another colored shot of the animation.~ Whether it gets finished or not will be up to you, the viewers. If enough people toss in a little, Pantry Thief will be colored in no time.

Posted 7 years agoJust a mass-update for everyone that participated in the IA: no slots will be 'returned' or canceled, rest assured! Things at home have just been strange, and September is the big 'birthday month.' Despite being out of the house, my family keeps guilting me into running errands for them, helping with parties, etc. :\
I am working on the owed Patreon work that got backed up during the move, and I have about ten of the next IA slots sketched.

Closing Slots Early for Health: When and Why?
Posted 7 years agoIt is with heavy heart that I report tonight, slots are closing early.
When? SLOTS ARE NOW CLOSED.
Why? Before anyone is concerned, I am okay. I will be fine and recover.
A surprising and concerning medical condition that I will not be discussing openly has cropped up as a result of a few damaging factors in my life during the past three months. Tonight, my health took a turn for the worse, and everyone I spoke with unanimously agreed that I need to step back and ease up on my work load. I had the ambitious goal of finishing my current 55+ commissions in the next 18 days.
That is no longer possible.
I loathe having to take back what I have said about my schedule. But even to the people I spoke to only hours ago about my plans to finish in August- I must retract any plans I had. All prior things I've said about the IA, or about current work, have to be redacted. I want you all to know that I have tried every other option, and were there anything else I could do to preserve my health, I would do it. This option pains me, but I know it's needed.
Short version: SLOTS ARE NOW CLOSED, and I may take longer than expected to finish the IA's and get to current commissions. Keep a hold of payments for Iron Artist commissions, nobody's slots are cancelled. Only slightly delayed.
Long version:
My health has been slowly degrading the past few weeks, and tonight took a dive for the worse. I will be fine, but not if I carry on and keep kicking myself to do as much work as I've wanted to. I burned myself out. Between the move, the mental slough that I went through before moving, the Iron Artist, and a myriad of other heavy topics I will not discuss, my body reached its breaking point, as did my mind.
I am taking a few days off. Off from FA, Twitter, all social media.
Then, after that, I will be taking at least 1-2 weeks off from commissions. I have work from the spring still waiting to be done, and it's all animation. I will do my damnedest to return to work full-swing on August 15th.
This is no-one's fault but my own. I am disappointed in myself, but not because I have to take a break, out of the fact that I am aware I'm clinically a workaholic, yet I let myself burn out like this. Do not feel you are at fault for ordering commissions or participating in the IA. You've blessed me with your support.
But I was too ambitious. I believed, that, in the midst of moving house, I could do up to 100 commissions AND patreon work. Anyone that knows artist life knows that's not only unrealistic, but unhealthy.
I do not know when I will finish the IA commissions, once I come back in a couple weeks. It could take me a month, it could take a few months. Both of my closest friends are going to keep me on track.
Thank you for reading and understanding. I would not have done this if I didn't think my health was in danger. I will see you all soon, refreshed and ready to go. I will still get back to everyone about their filled-out applications for denials and acceptances.

Alfred and I couldn't afford everything we either needed [light fixtures b/c there are none in the house], or wanted [random housewarming gifts], and friends were asking for a wish list.
However, it's not just for close friends now! Between today and August 30th, anyone who orders a total of $20-25+ off this household wishlist will receive a colored sketch [usually $45] as a thank-you! Anything over $70 [and every additional $70 after that] will get a FULLY RENDERED piece [usually $80-110] as thanks! I've had a few people come forward with concerns and confusion about why some slots are sketched, and some aren't.'
I apologize for the lack of communication, here's the short of it:
I didn't want this queue to take three months to get through, and I know how I work the fastest. The way I function at the best speed is, if I have ten commissions, I can't start one, complete it fully, and then move to the next. What I do, is I do the whole batch in steps. I do the rough sketch for all 10, then I go back to the start and do the lines, and then I go back and do the shading, passing over the whole batch in stages.
So what happened is, since some slots asked to be livestreamed, some were impartial, and many were 'do not stream this, please,' I had two options.
1: Stream a slot, stop streaming, do a few that asked to be omitted, start streaming again for 1-2, stop, repeat.
2: Do all the 'Please Livestream my Comm' slots at ONCE, skipping over the ones that were either impartial or asked to not be streamed.
I didn't want streams to be scattered and messy, especially when I already work so slow during them in the first place, so I went for option 2 to avoid things taking forever.
It actually balances out, because the situation now is: the 'Please Livestream' slots have been roughed, but must now wait until after July 6th/7th to be finished, and now I'm free to go back to the start of the queue and record all the 'Impartials' and do the 'do not stream' ones in my working hours. Everyone that was passed-over for the 'Please Livestream' slots will start receiving their FINISHED products in the next two weeks [or rather, as many as I CAN finish in the next two weeks!]
So don't worry if you don't see your slots, and your number was skipped over! They're being started now, and I will be in contact with you as soon as possible.
